Chapter 4
"Alright ladies and gentlemen, now that the first two events are over and the students going to the final tournament have been decided let's take a look at the matchups," Mic shouted.
"I'm all fired up, who am I going to be fighting," Natsu smirked,
"For the first match we have Natsu Dragneel of Class B vs Tanaka Yamamoto of Class C Support Course," Mic announced.
Natsu smirked "Alright I'm all fired up, now,"
"For match two we Kamika Sato vs Haori Kotona," Mic shouted "In the third match its Gajeel Redfox vs. Yamaguchi Hinata,"
Gajeel smirked "Gihi, an easy win,"
"For the final match of the first round it's Wendy Marvell vs Mako Sakurai," Mic finished.
"Hm it seems if Wendy and Gajeel win their fights they will fight each other, exciting," Hado smiled.
Wendy blinked for a few seconds and she went wide-eyed "EH!"
"Aw, don't worry Wendy you'll be fine," Natsu encouraged.
"Right, when we fight be ready, cause I won't hold back," Gajeel smirked.
"Please don't go too hard against me," Wendy told him.
"Alright students please report to your class's assigned waiting room, and seating area," Mic announced.
Natsu and his classes went to their waiting room, and the whole class was showing their support to Natsu, Gajeel, and Wendy.
"You guys are so gonna win this," a classmate said.
"Yeah you three are the strongest in the class," another cheered.
"Thanks, guys, we'll be sure to win this tournament," Natsu grinned.
The class continued to bond and socialize until school officials came in to call Natsu to the arena.
"Dragneel, please come to the arena your match is about to begin"
Natsu smirked "Looks like I'm up,"
Mirio offered a fist bump "Good Luck Natsu,"
Natsu nodded, returning the fist bump "Yeah,"
"You better win, because I'm the only here who gets to kick your ass," Gajeel told him.
"Good luck Natsu-san," Wendy smiled.
"Yeah, you better win," Hado grinned.
"Just do your best," Tamaki said, still looking at the wall.
Natsu nodded and headed to the arena, and once he walked out he heard a loud cheer from the crowd as he walked on to the fighting ring. Natsu then came face to face with his opponent Tanaka of the support course.
"OK LADIES AND GENTLEMEN! FOR MATCH 1 WE HAVE THE FIREY, THE HOT HEADED! THE PASSIONATE NATSU DRAGNEEL OF HERO COURSE CLASS 1B GOING UP AGAINST THE PLAIN! THE PLAIN! BUT ALWAYS DETERMINED! TANAKA YAMAMOTO OF THE SUPPORT COURSE!
"Yo, let's have a good fight," Natsu told Tanaka.
Tanaka had a confident smirk "Don't worry I don't plan on losing,"
Natsu smiled "Yeah same here,"
"Are both fighters ready" Midnight turned to them and they both nodded, she then raised her flag and quickly brought it down "Begin,"
Tanaka then at the second the bell rang, fired a rope that tied itself around Natsu.
"Rope," Natsu said shocked. Tanaka then started to swing Natsu off the stage.
"OH YAMAMOTO! IS GOING TO SWING DRAGNEEL OFF THE RING! IS THIS THE RIGHT CALL!" Mic shouted.
Natsu smirked "Not bad, but this won't hold me," Natsu then encased his whole in a fire burning off the rope.
Tanaka went wide-eyed "What!"
"Not a bad strategy! That kind of tactic can end a fight like this quickly, but sadly for you, it won't work on me," Natsu told him.
"Eh!" Tanaka responded but he didn't have enough time to do anything as Natsu appeared right in front of him.
FIRE DRAGON IRON FIST
And with one punch Natsu sent Tanaka flying and landing outside the ring, and the cloud cheered.
"WOW! WITH ONE FIERY STRIKE DRAGNEEL ENDED THE BATTLE IN AN INSTANT!" Mic shouted.
Midnight smiled "The match is over Natsu Dragneel is the victor,"
Natsu smiled "Yes,"
Natsu then walked back inside only to be greeted by Mirio, Hado, Tamaki, Gajeel, and Wendy, shocking him.
"NATSU!" Mirio and Hado shouted.
"That was so cool," Hado smiled.
"Yeah, you ended it with one punch," Mirio gave a thumbs up.
"Congratulations Natsu-san," Wendy congratulated.
Natsu grinned "Thank you, Wendy,"
Gajeel smirked "Not bad, Salamander, but I would've ended it faster,"
Natsu chuckled "Yeah the rope caught me off guard, a little,"
"Anyway, I should go prepare for my match," Gajeel then walked off to the waiting room.
"Good luck Gajeel," Natsu said.
"Yeah do your best," Mirio smiled, but Gajeel ignored them.
The group then went to their class spectator seat to watch the second match and it ended with the victory of Kotoha of Class A.
"ALRIGHT FOR MATCH 3 OF THE FINAL TOURNAMENT WE HAVE THE IRON WILLED! THE PUNK! GAJEEL REDFOX OF HERO COURSE CLASS B! VS THE HIGH JUMPING! YAMAGUCHI HINATA OF HERO COURSE CLASS A!" Mic announced.
Gajeel smirked "This match will be a piece of cake,"
Hinata glared "Don't get too cocky, you haven't won yet,"
Midnight raised her flag "Ready!... Start!"
Hinata jumped in the air at a great height and began to dive kick at Gajeel.
IRON DRAGON SWORD
Gajeel blocked the attack by turning his arm into a large iron sword, Hinata was shocked by this, but Gajeel just smirked "Told ya, Easy peasy," Gajeel then grabbed Hinata's leg and threw him off the ring ending the fight.
"Hinata is out! Refox Wins!" Midnight announced.
"OH AND JUST LIKE THAT REDFOX ENDED THE BATTLE IN AN INSTANT," Mic yelled.
"Do you have to shout," Aizawa's sweat dropped.
"NOW FOR THE FINAL MATCH OF THE DAY! THE CUTE SKY MAIDEN OF HERO COURSE CLASS 1B WENDY MARVELL VS THE HAPPY GO LUCKY MAKO SAKURAI! OF CLASS 1A!"
"Let's do our best Wendy-san," Mako said.
"Hai, I'll give it all I got," Wendy smiled.
"Begin," Midnight shouted.
Mako charged at Wendy and the two began to fight in martial arts, Wendy appears to have the upper hand but Mako kept her on her toes. In a swift moment, Mako extended small claws from her hands and began to claw at Wendy. Wendy quickly dodged the attacks and she quickly began to gather wind within her hand.
SKY DRAGON CLAW
Wendy clawed at Mako hitting her directly sending her sliding back. Seeing the opportunity Wendy jumped up in the air and gathered wind with both her arms.
SKY DRAGON WING ATTACK
Wendy unleashed her attack on Mako, sending the girl out of the ring.
"YOSHA! Wendy did it," Natsu grinned.
"The runt really has gotten stronger, Gajeel smirked.
"Congrats Wendy-chan," Hado smiled.
"You did great," Mirio cheered.
"Guess that means she has to fight Gajeel in the semi-finals," Tamaki said.
Gajeel snickered "Yeah I look forward to it,"
"I better go get ready for my match," Natsu smirked as he ran off.
"Same here," Gajeel nodded.
Natsu was walking back to the arena prepared for his next match, as he was walking he noticed a large man in blue as he passed, the man had dark red hair, and parts of his body were covered in fire. "That's.."
Flashback
"Who is this guy," Natsu pointed at a guy on the cover of a magazine.
"That's the Flame Hero: Endeavor, he's the number 2 hero in Japan, only second to All Might," Tamaki told him. "You don't know that,"
"Oh! That's right you guys are kind of like foreigners so you don't know about him," Hado said.
"Yeah, sorry I don't pay attention to hero boards that much," Natsu sheepishly smiled. "Flame Hero: Endeavor, what kind of guy is he like,"
Mirio smiled "Well, from what I know he's like the opposite of All Might, He's strong and gets the work done, but he comes off as scary,"
"I see," Natsu eyed the photo of Endeavor.
Flashback over
Natsu walked past Endeavor paying him no mind.
"Your flames are a rather interesting boy, be sure to show them to me again," Endeavor said as Natsu walked past him.
Natsu just ignored him and kept going, as even though this was the first time Natsu met the Flame Hero, he didn't like the look in his eye.
"That look in his eye," Natsu thought "it looks like he hates somethings that are in front of him,"
Natsu walked out onto the arena and heard the loud and exciting cheers of the crowd.
"HERE HE IS LADIES AND GENTLEMEN! THE FIERY DRAGON OF CLASS B NATSU DRAGNEEL VS THE GENTLE THE EARTH CRUSHING HAORI KOTOHA OF CLASS A! Mic shouted.
"Good Luck Natsu," Mirio cheered from his audience seat.
"Do your best," Hado cheered.
Natsu came face to face with Kotoha, who also had a look of determination on her face.
"Are both fighters ready," Midnight asked and the two nodded "Begin,"
Natsu started by sending a blast of fire at Kotoha but she managed to block it by turning her fist into rocks.
"So her quirk is rock fist huh," Natsu said he then smirked "Interesting,"
Natsu charged at her engulfing his fist in flames and began to punch back.
"Your fire won't work on me," Kotoha shouted.
"Is that so," Natsu smirked and he began to increase the speed of his fiery punches. Kotoha continued to block but Natsu's attacks kept getting faster and faster. As Natsu increased his speed, Kotoha began to get pushed back.
After a couple more fast fire punches, Natsu broke through Kotoha's defense shocking her. Natsu headbutted her, making Kotoha stagger. Natsu smirked and took a deep breath as Kotoha tried to regain her balance.
FIRE DRAGON ROAR
Natsu unleashed his powerful breath attack scorching Kotoha sending her flying out of the area. Once she was knocked there came a loud cheer from the crowd.
"Kotoha is unable to continue, the winner is Dragneel," Midnight announced. "He will proceed to the final match,"
"OH YEAH," Natsu shouted in victory.
Natsu walked out of the arena with a happy smile, he was then greeted by his friends.
"NATSU! CONGRATS ON MAKING IT TO THE FINALS!" Mirio congratulated.
"Congratulations, Natsu-san," Wendy smiled.
"Thanks, guys," Natsu smiled.
As the friends talked, someone else walked in, and to some of their shock, it was Endeavor.
"Its Endeavor," Tamaki said, shocked.
"The number two hero," Mirio said.
Endeavor looked at Natsu "As I thought, your fire is a rather interesting kid," the number two began to walk away "I hope you accept my offer,"
"What does that mean," Natsu raised an eyebrow.
"Don't know," Mirio said but he turned to Natsu and smiled "But isn't cool that the number two hero praised you,"
"Yeah, I guess," Natsu shrugged.
"What's wrong Natsu," Hado asked.
"It's just the look in his eye," Natsu responded "it looks like he hates what's in front of him,"
"Oh, yeah I kind of saw that too," Wendy said.
"Anyway shouldn't you prepare for your match with Gajeel, Wendy?" Natsu asked.
Wendy jumped "Oh that's right, oh I hope Gajeel-san goes easy on me,"
"He won't, you know that," Natsu told her.
"Yeah, he's that kind of guy," Tamaki nodded.
Wendy grumbled "Awwww,"
"Don't worry, Wendy-chan you'll be fine," Hado encouraged.
Natsu nodded "Yeah you're strong,"
Mirio gave Wendy his thumbs up "Yeah you can do it,"
Natsu gave Wendy a huge smack on the back "You got this, don't worry,"
Wendy nodded and grew a determined look "Okay I'll do my best,"

"ALRIGHT TIME FOR THE FINAL MATCH OF THE SEMI-FINALS! FOR THIS MATCH WE HAVE THE TOUGH AS STEEL GAJEEL REDFOX VERSUS THE LOVELY AND BEAUTIFUL SKY MAIDEN WENDY MARVELL" Present Mic shouted.
Both Gajeel and Wendy stood on opposite sides of the arena facing each other down.
Gajeel smirked "Just so you know kid, I'm not holding back even against you,"
Wendy nodded "Yeah same here,"
"READY!" Mic shouted and both Gajeel and Wendy got into fighting stances "FIGHT!"
Both Gajeel and Wendy both took a deep breath.
IRON/SKY DRAGON
ROAR
Both Gajeel and Wendy both unleashed a powerful breath attack creating a massive shockwave.
"What the hell," one student said.
"What power," another shouted.
"So cool," Mirio smiled.
"Amazing," Hado cheered.
Gajeel then charged at Wendy, and she instinctively blocked.
IRON DRAGON HARD FIST
"Gah," Wendy screamed, feeling the force of the steel punch. Wendy then gathered the wind in her hand.
SKY DRAGON CLAW
Wendy clawed at Gajeel, but to her shock, it had no effect on him. She looked at him and saw that Gajeel activated his iron dragon scales, and he was smirking.
"Sorry kid," Gajeel kneed Wendy in the face, knocking her back.
Wendy painted "I shouldn't say I'm surprised, Gajeel-san has always been strong,"
"You've definitely gotten stronger kid, but you still have a long way to go," Gajeel told her.
"I can't quit now," Wendy jumped in the air, gathering wind in her arms.
SKY DRAGON WING ATTACK
Wendy unleashed her attack on Gajeel, but he managed to block it, only getting a few scratches on his scales.
IRON DRAGON LANCE
Gajeel sent an iron pole from his arm at Wendy hitting the girl in the stomach. Gajeel then jumped in the air appearing in front of Wendy, shocking her. "Its over now kid,"
IRON DRAGON CLUB
Gajeel turned his arm into the steel club hitting Wendy and sending her out of the ring, and Gajeel landed back on the ring.
"AND WITH THAT GAJEEL REDFOX MOVES ON TO THE FINALS AGAINST NATSU DRAGNEEL," Mic shouted, and roars from the crowd.
Gajeel walked over to Wendy "You did good kid, you definitely got strong but you still have a long way to go to beat me,"
Wendy stood up and nodded "Thank you Gajeel-san,"
Gajeel smirked and he looked at Natsu who was also smiling "it's about to time me and Salamander have a rematch,"
Natsu was smiling "it's been a while since I fought Gajeel. I'm all fired up now,"
Mirio smiled and gave him thumbs up "Yeah, I'm sure you guys we'll do great,"
"Thanks, Mirio, but I don't plan on losing," Natsu cracked his fist. "I better get ready,"
"Good luck Natsu," Hado smiled.
"Good luck," Tamaki signed.
Natsu went over to his class' prep room where he saw Wendy, "Yo Wendy, you were awesome out there,"
Wendy looked up at him "Thank you Natsu-san, but as I thought I'm not as strong as Gajeel-san,"
Natsu patted her on the back "Come on you were awesome, Gajeel knew it too, as expected of a Fairy Tail Wizard," he laughed.
"Are you getting ready for your match with Gajeel-san," Wendy asked and Natsu nodded.
"Yeah, it's been a while since I had a serious fight with him, so this will be fun," Natsu grinned. "I better get going see ya, Wendy,"
"Good luck, Natsu-san," Wendy bowed.

Natsu walked up to the arena face to face with Gajeel, both had a look of confidence on their face.
"TIME FOR THE FINAL MATCH OF THE UA 1ST YEAR SPORTS FESTIVAL! FIRST FOR THE FINAL, WE MATCH WE HAVE THE FIGHT BETWEEN TWO SELF PROCLAIMED DRAGONS! WE HAVE THE FIERY DRAGON NATSU DRAGNEEL! VERSUS THE DRAGON WITH WILL AND BODY OF STEEL GAJEEL REDFOX!" Mich yelled.
"Do you always have to yell," Aizawa signed?
Natsu smirked at Gajeel "It's been a while since we fought huh, Gajeel,"
Gajeel smirked "Yeah, but it won't go the same as last time,"
"Is that so," Natsu grinned.
Gajeel grinned as well "Yeah, gihihi,"
"READY!" Mic shouted "FIGHT!"
Natsu and Gajeel charged at each other and both punched each other in the face. The two then jumped back and took a deep breath.
FIRE/IRON DRAGON
ROAR
Both of them unleashed their breath attacks creating a loud shockwave felt throughout the arena.
"These two are insane," a classmate said.
"AWESOME!" Mirio cheered.
The two dragon slayers stared at each other down, waiting for the other to make a move.
IRON DRAGON SWORD
Gajeel turned his right arm into a jagged blade. He charged at Natsu trying to slash at him, but Natsu managed to dodge every strike.
FIRE DRAGON IRON FIST
Natsu punched Gajeel in the stomach, making the iron dragon stagger but Gajeel quickly regained balance. Gajeel then activated his iron dragon scales and he smirked at Natsu.
"Like I said Salamander, my scales can't be broken by fire,"
Natsu smirked "and I told you my dragon fire, can melt anything,"
The two then charged at each other and began to exchange fists at high speeds.
"Those two are fast,"
"How can they move like that,"
Natsu created a whirlwind of fire with both his arms and swung them at Gajeel.
FIRE DRAGON WING ATTACK
IRON DRAGON LANCE DEMON LOG
Gajeel fired a barrage of small lances at Natsu to counter the attack. The two then continued to clash with their fists, and the crowd was watching in amazement.
"These two are crazy,"
"How much power do they have,"
Both Natsu and Gajeel were sweating, still staring at each other.
"As always you're tough Gajeel," Natsu wiped the dirt off his face.
"Same to you Salamander," Gajeel smirked.
"Guess we better finish this," Natsu smirked.
"Yeah let's," Gajeel responded.
The two then started to display enormous power being felt throughout the stadium.
"You feel that,"
"So intense,"
DRAGON SLAYER SECRET ART
Gajeel jumped into the air and put his feet together turning them into a drill and he began to spin at high speeds. Natsu engulfed his body in fire and he jumped in the air heading towards Gajeel.
KARMA DEMON: IRON SPIRAL
HIDDEN FIRE FORM CRIMSON LOTUS: PHOENIX BLADE
The two attacks clashed creating a large explosion and a massive shockwave.
"Amazing they are as strong as ever," Wendy shielded her eyes.
"This heat," Tamaki said.
"So hot," Hado groaned.
"COOL!" Mirio shouted.
Once the dust cleared, it revealed Natsu standing, half of his uniform burned off breathing heavily standing in the ring. It was then shown Gajeel laying on his back outside the ring.
"Gajeel it out of the ring!" Midnight shouted "The winner is Natsu Dragneel,"
The crowd then cheered loudly, as Natsu raised his fist in victory.
"YEAH! I WON!" Natsu cheered.
"Damn it all the ways to lose, and it had to be a ring out," Gajeel groaned.
Natsu offered his hand to Gajeel "Nice fight, Gajeel,"
Gajeel looked at him and smirked and took his hand "Yeah,"
"NATSU DRAGNEEL HAS DONE IT! HE WINS THE SPORTS FESTIVAL WITH A OVERWHELMINGLY VICTORY LET'S HEAR IT FOR HIM," Mic shouted.
"Congrats Natsu," Mirio cheered.
"You did great too Gajeel," Hado smiled.
"You two were amazing," Wendy shouted.
"Yeah," Tamaki smiled.

After some rest, the award ceremony began, Natsu, Gajeel, and Wendy stood on the podiums along with Kotoha the other third-place victor.
Principal Nezu handed Wendy and Kotoha their metals "Even if your third you showed what you can do, and congratulate you,"
Wendy bowed "Thank you Mr. Principal,"
Nezu then walked over to Gajeel and handed him his metal "Despite getting second, you showed everyone what you are capable of, congratulations,"
Gajeel scoffed "Thanks Mouse,"
Nezu laughed at this and he then walked over to Natsu "Now I congratulate you our first place winner, you have the makings of a fine hero"
"Thanks, Principal Nezu," Natsu grinned.
Nezu smiled and turned to the crowd. "All of you students showed what you can do, You all will make fine heroes, Now let's end this with one final cheer,"
The crowd cheered at this and Nezu and everyone raised their hands and began to count down.

Endeavor remained silent as he watched Natsu take a picture with Gajeel, and Wendy, along with Mirio, Tamaki, and Hado. Endeavor simply smirked.
