Class 1-A Dorm
It was early in the morning in the first-year dorm, Kirishima, Tokoyami, Kaminari, and Mineta were all chilling in the dining room.
"So we have a day off today," Kaminari yawned.
"We were rushing with studying and the licenses exam, it's good we got the day off," Mineta said.
It was then in a rush, Midoriya rushed out of the dorm at full speed "GOOD MORNING,"
Mineta watched as Midoriya rushed out "Take it, easy man,"
Kaminari then noticed Todoroki and Bakugou leaving as well "Those two as well, they have training on the weekends,"
"You should be grateful that sensei allowed you to continue the Provisional License classes," Todoroki told the explosion boy. "They're still giving you the chance to retake the exam,"
"Shut up," Bakugou shouted.
"We need to catch everyone soon," Todoroki said.
"I SAID SHUT UP!" Bakugou yelled.
Midoriya ran outside the school gate to be greeted by Mirio and Natsu.
"Morning Midoriya-kun," Mirio smiled.
"Yo, Midoriya," Natsu smirked,
"Good morning, Togata-senpai, Dragneel-senpai," Midoriya bowed.
"So you ready go," Mirio grinned and Midoriya nodded. "Alright we don't want to miss the train, it'll take us an hour to get there,"
Hearing the last word suddenly made Natsu freeze in his place and started to shake, he started to take deep breaths. "Come on Natsu, you've been doing this for nearly 3 years. Do not keep letting you fear take hold," he chanted to himself.
"Hey Natsu let's go," Mirio called, and Natsu noticed they were a fair distance away already, Natsu quickly shook off his thoughts and caught up with the two.
Once the three got on the train, Midoriya couldn't help but see Natsu shaking.
"Dragneel-senpai, are you okay," Midoriya asked.
"Yeah,..." Natsu shook, his face turning a little green.
"SENPAI! YOU'RE TURNING GREEN!" Midioriya shouted.
Mirio laughed "Don't worry Midoriya this is normal, Natsu just has really bad motion sickness,"
"Motion Sickness?" Midoriya raised his eyebrow.
Mirio nodded "Yeah, Gajeel, and Wendy have it too,"
"No, I'm fine," Natsu shook.
After about an hour-long train ride, Natsu fainted once he went out the exit.
"SENPAI!" Midoriya shouted.
"Help me.." Natsu weakly muttered.
"I guess all the talk about getting over it was a lie," Mirio laughed "Don't worry man, we got you,"
Mirio picked up Natsu and put him on his back, "Now let's go, the agency isn't too far,"
Midoriya nodded, and he followed the upperclassman after a short walk, and the two and weakened Natsu arrived at the Nighteye's agency.
"Here we are, Sir's Agency," Mirio smiled. Hearing that Midoriya went completely stiff "Hey don't be stiff. I didn't tell you but Sir is very strict,"
Midoriya snapped out of his stiffness "Of course, even on TV he gives off this feeling of intensity in his eyes,"
"True..but Sir has a different side to him than the media shows,'" Mirio told him. "So if you don't want to be turned away before you finish talking to Sir, you need to make him laugh," he said bluntly.
"Huh," Midoriya blinked and he only got a confirmation nod from Mirio and Natsu, who only nodded weakly.
"Despite how Sir acts, he is someone who actually values humor, so the best we can do is introduce you, you just need to make him laugh." The three, with Mirio still carrying Natsu go upstairs to Sir's office "I wish we can help you, but you're the one who has to impress him,"
"Um, I know it's too late to ask this but, why are you guys being so nice to me, I mean we just met," Midoriya asked.
"You know, I don't feel like I'm being nice to you, you're trying to turn your crazy goal into reality, wanting to help those in trouble is the basics of being a hero," Mirio smiled and Natsu nodded.
They then stopped in front of a door and Mirio pointed "here we are, beyond that door is Sir, now if you want to become stronger, then open it with your strength," he declared.
"Yes sir," Midoriya said.
Midoriya gulped and straightened up, he walked up to the door and opened it with pride and strength,
"Hey guys, me and Natsu brought the first year we told you about." Mirio greeted, and Natsu just groaned, still feeling sick.
"Sir Nighteye' agency, what kind of place is it?" Midoriya thought as he entered.
"HAHAHA!" Midoriya's eyes widened at what he was seeing. He saw Bubble Girl strapped to a machine being tickled. "What?" he blinked. "What kind of place is this?"
"Please...I'm sorry," Bubble Girl laughed out.
"Hmm, it seems Bubble Girl couldn't get him to laugh," Mirio said.
"Gwahhh," Natsu groaned.
It was then Nighteye turned his eyes to Midoriya, and Midoriya shivered at his presence, feeling the intensity.
"So this is All Might's former sidekick, Sir Nighteye," Midoriya shivered "just from one gaze I can feel his intensity," Mirio's words then played back in his head, he has to make him laugh.
"I'm Izuku Midoriya," Midoriya introduced impersonating All Might's face and voice. The room was silent. The only thing heard was Bubble Girl's laughter.
Mirio had a shocked look "Oh no he screwed up,"
"Yeah he's dead," Natsu groaned weakly,
"I have practiced ever since I was a kid to copy All Might's smile I hope he finds it funny," Midoriya thought, but he was greeted by Nighteye's glare.
"Are you mocking All Might," Nighteye glared?
"It wasn't funny," Mirio shook.
"He's done," Natsu thought.
"What do you think you're doing," Nighteye questioned making Midoriya shiver.
"Um well you see," Midoriya shook, but Nighteye grabbed his face.
"All Might's wrinkles are nothing like this," Nighteye told him, and Midoriya blinked in shock. "In his normal face, his wrinkles around his eyes are 0.6 cm, for the silver age it was 0.8 cm, are you telling me you knew nothing as simple as that, and that his former sidekick wouldn't notice,"
"Eh," Midoriya sweat drop, it was then he noticed all the rare All Might memorabilia around his office. "He has a lot of rare All Might Merch, no doubt he's an All Might superfan,"
"That was an unpleasant introduction, leave," Nighteye turned away.
"The vinegar riverbank incident, do you remember it," Midoriya asked. It was then Midoriya told the story of how All Might saved a boy from drowning and how the boy's quirk turned the water to vinegar. "The face I showed you were from that incident,"
Nighteye looked back at him "Of course I remember it, it was before I teamed up with him, and I keep records of All Might's past actions before we teamed up,"
"Yeah that's the one," Midoriya jumped "It may not have been popular because there were no villains, but I liked it, especially the witty response he gave,"
"Thanks to you my skin feels 10 years younger," Nighteye quoted.
"That's it," Midoriya smiled.
Nighteye looked back at Midoriya "Were you testing me boy,"
Midoriya jumped "No, um because All Might is our teacher its hard to talk about him like a fan in class,"
"The crux of the incident happened because of the boy's family," Nighteye told him.
"Yeah," Midoriya smiled "It adds a different weight to it,"
"Mirio put me down," Natsu said. "I'm okay now," his motion sickness is now gone.
Mirio nodded and put his friend down, and he proceeded to free Bubble Girl.
"Mirio, Natsu, who is that," Bubble Girl asked, breathing heavily.
"He's out Kouhai," Mirio answered.
"He came here for a work-study," Natsu told her.
Mirio smiled as Midoriya talked to Sir like a super fan "You didn't make Sir laugh, but you made a good first impression Midoriya-Kun,"
"Not bad, Midoriya," Natsu smirked.
Nightyeye sat back at his desk "So you're here to apply for work-study,"
"Yes sir, please take me," Midoriya shouted.
"I assume you brought the contract with you," Nighteye asked.
"Yes, I have it," Midoriya pulled the contract from his bag.
"Don't interrupt me," Nighteye ordered.
"Yes sir," Midoriya apologized and placed the contract on the desk.
"Once I stamp this you are approved, but be warned because you are the first year, the work-study would halt your schoolwork, understand," Nighteye told him.
"Of course, now that I have my license I need to find ways to keep up with everyone," Midoriya bowed.
Nighteye's eyes narrowed and he brought down the stamp right next to the contract.
"Eh," Midoriya froze. "Uh, you missed,"
"Because I don't feel like stamping it," Nighteye said bluntly, shocking Midoriya "I know the benefits of you working here, what is the merit of me hiring you. This agency already works with two sidekicks and two Work Study students. Everything runs smoothly, but hiring you will offset the balance," he continued to tap the stamp loudly "What is the benefit? How can you tribute to society? How can you be useful to others," he questioned.
"Eh," Midoriya blinked.
"To be acknowledged, you need to make things clear. All Might do that with power and humor, he gave hope to those who lived in fear., that's why we acknowledge him." Sir continued.
"How can I contribute to society," Midoriya repeated.
Nighteye stood from his seat "in order for you to show me your benefit, do it through your actions, not your words, you have three minutes," Nighteye then held the stamp out "You have three minutes to take this stamp from me and seal it yourself, you do that I'll accept you,"
"Eh," Midoriya, Natsu, Mirio, and Bubble girl all said shocked.
"I say this even though you don't have a funny bone in your body. I'll give you this chance," Nighteye then turned to Natsu and the others "Mirio, Natsu, Bubble Girl you three wait outside,"
"Yes sir," the three responded.
"That's not energetic you three," Nighteye glared.
"YES SIR!" the three saluted with more energy.
The three then left the room, confused about what Sir was doing.
"Did you two have an interview like that Mirio-kun, Natsu-kun," Bubble Girl asked.
Both Natsu and Mirio shook their heads.
"Sir wanted us specifically, we never fought him," Mirio answered and Natsu nodded.
"Hmm, he must really like you guys," Bubble pouted.
Mirio chuckled "but facing him in a fight isn't good, Midoriya-kun, your future doesn't look bright,"
"How will you counter Sir's quirk, Midoriya. Can you surpass Sir's predictions," Natsu looked back at the office door.
"Come at me with all you got," Nighteye called out "Any damage to this room will be acceptable if you get the stamp,"
Midioriya got into a fighting stance and activated his quirk. "If I remember his quirk is, no I need to get the stamp first," he then charged at Nighteye.
"A frontal assault," Nighteye stated "But it is a feint," as he said Midoriya did not attack but landed in front of him and jumped "going over my head," Midoriya tried to grab the stamp but failed. "A back attack," he dodged again predicting exactly what happened.
"I knew his quirk Foresight lets him see what moves I'll make," Midoriya thought. Midoriya continued to jump around trying to grab the stamp but failed no matter what he tried.
He then tried to blindside Sir by throwing his backpack, but that plan failed as well. "Damn, I can't catch him,"
"You must hurry, time is running out," Nighteye told him. "Show me your worth,"
Outside in the waiting room, Natsu, Mirio, and Bubble Girl can hear noises from the office.
"He seems to be toying with him a lot," Bubble Girl said.
"You got that right," Mirio and Natsu nodded.
"Seriously his quirk is bad news even if you have a solid battle plan," Natsu drank his water,
Mirio nodded."And you can tell by listening,"
"Sir has no intention of hiring him,." both Natsu and Mirio thought.
"One minute passes, and you take a step back," Nighteye declared Midoirya's movements "You come to realize you can't overcome my Foresight,"
"He can see everything with Foresight how can I counter it," Midoriya thought.
"You know I did have some high expectations of you," Nighteye told him, Midoriya was shocked. "You have the power to become a symbol and yet you are ordinary, in this time villains are on the rise and lurking. In that case, he should have chosen between Natsu and Mirio to gain One for All,"
"One for All, Togata-senpai, and Dragneel-senpai," Midoriya said, shocked.
"Preferably Mirio is the better candidate out of the two," Nighteye told him. "I love and respect All Might even now, but I can't accept his choice in successor,"
"That means that Dragneel-senpai and Togata-senpai were candidates to inherit One for All before me? How did All Might and Nighteye choose them, and does All Might know about this?" Midoriya thought, his head flooding with doubt.
"Do you really have time to think? Or are you tired," Nighteye questioned? "When Mirio and Natsu wanted to introduce you I was surprised. I should give it to you straight there were better candidates to One for All,"
Midoriya shook at this, but it was then All Might's words rang through him.
"You can be a hero"
"Those words All Might said to me on that day, I need to give it my all and surpass it, I need to keep pushing till he can't react. Everything Me and All Might have been through together, I can't let him reject me,"
Midoriya started becoming faster as he jumped around the room.
"All Might Chose Me"
"I will stamp that seal and you will acknowledge me," Midoirya declared to the pro.
"He can see the future but I don't know how far, so I need to keep moving faster so he can't react in time," Midoriya continued to gain speed.
"Hmm, you are like an inferior Gran Torino," Nighteye told him.
Midoriya kept jumping at him, but Nighteye dodged every move "be it one second, one minute or one hour. I can see what you are doing," Sir continued to dodge. "I can see you on the floor without a stamp or contract," Midoirya had a frustrated look. "You're worried I thought it would be the first thing All Might taught you, at the top don't show looks of indecision and worry. If you understand that you can hold on to that vision and act accordingly, despite being told that you can't put that into practice,"
Midoriya's eyes narrowed, "I told you I will make you accept me," he declared.
"The more I see, The more I fail to understand why it's you," Sir declared.
"He told me I can be the greatest hero," Midoriya declared.
"He did?" Nighteye raised an eyebrow "To a nobody like you,"
Midoriya then threw a desk at Nighteye, but he dodged once again.
"Once he touched me he can see what I'd be doing, but that means it doesn't apply to inanimate and scattered objects," Midoriya hid behind the floating papers he threw and saw his moment and he jumped at the stamp "I'm not giving up Nighteye,"
"I'm All Might's Disciple" Midoriya declared but to his shock Sir dodged one again.
"I still see nothing of value," he responded.
"Not yet," Midoriya's eyes then widened and his face planted into the wall.
"Time is up your three minutes are up," Nighteye told him.
"What," Midoriya said shocked.
"His disciple? That's shocking from you, your one and actually strategy failed, and you fall to pieces like that? Did you lose focus," Sir questioned.
"No," Midoriya responded.
"A blunder then," Nighteye asked..
Midoriya shook his head no "I didn't want to ruin the 10th Anniversary Commemorative All Might Poster," he answered.
"What," Nighteye's eyes widened and he looked at his office "did he really purposely avoided my All Might Merch while moving like that, my words definitely shook him but he made decisions and paid attention to his surroundings,"
It was then suddenly Mirio, Natsu, and Bubble burst out "EXCUSE US!"
"We heard a loud bang and we assume it's over," Mirio smiled.
"Mirio, Natsu, I accept him," Nighteye declared, shocking them.
"What really, way to go Midoriya-kun," Mirio congratulated.
"Huh, but I failed," Midoriya said, shocked.
"You misunderstood, I said. Try to take the stamp and seal it yourself within three minutes. I never said I wouldn't accept you if you failed," Sir told him.
Natsu smirked and patted Midoriya on the back "Not bad Midoriya,"
Nighteye walked up to Midoriya "Your placement was already decided when I heard you'd be coming here, and I knew you'd be useless to me, but I still don't accept you,"
"Um," Midoriya sweat drops.
"Now that the people are without a symbol of peace, they don't need a spark they need a bright and shining light, even if it goes against his will, you will gain experience here in this pro hero office, that will you make sure who is best suited to that power," Nighteye told him and dropped the stamp and contract in Midoriya's hand.
Midoriya took the stamp, "One for All can only be transferred if their current user wills it, so he accepted me do I can give it to Togata-senpai,"
Midoriya clenched the stamp "Thank you,"
"Sir Nighteye I will prove to you I am worthy of All Might's power,"
