Chapter 14
Class 1-A dorm
"That's Amazing Midoriya, you're going to Sir Nighteye's agency for Work-Study and got recommended by Togata-senpai, and Dragneel-senpai," Kaminari smiled.
"It's so cool, you get to work with All Might's former sidekick," Sato said.
"Congratulations Midoriya-kun," Iida complimented.
"You got yours so fast," Uraraka said.
Midioriya sheepishly chuckled "Yeah, I can't tell them he only took me because he wants me to give up One for All,"
"We need to catch up soon, so we won't fall behind," Todoroki eyed the group.
Bakugou just scoffed.
"Deku-kun got a work-study while the rest of us can't even go to the agencies we wanted," Uraraka sulked. "Gunhead didn't have enough interns to qualify,"
"The same with Selkie," Tsuyu signed.
"Fourth Kind doesn't even take work-study students," Kirishima sulked.
"Yeah the threshold was set pretty high, we can only go to agencies with good track records," Sero said.
"Well it can't be held, we'll all be more involved than the internships," Ojiro told them.
"Exactly," Aizawa walked "Plus if anything were to happen to you its the pro's responsibility to make sure you're safe, its the real deal,"
"Aizawa-sensei,"
Aizawa then turned to Tokoyami "Tokoyami, you've got a work-study invitation it's from Hawks from Kyushu,"
"Hawks," Sero said, shocked.
"The current number 3 three heroes" Sato shouted.
"Tokoyami is so amazing," Kaminari said with jealousy.
"So are you gonna take it," Aizawa asked.
"I humbly accept the offer," Tokoyami answered.
Aizawa nodded "Alright, I'll get you the paperwork tomorrow, I'll authorize your absences," he then turned to Kirishima, Uraraka, and Tsuyu "oh, Kirishima, Amajiki and Redfox want to see you, Uraraka, Asui, Marvell and Hado would like to meet with you two as well,"
"We need to catch up soon," Todoroki repeated.
"STOP SAYING THAT!" Bakugou yelled.
"Amajiki-senpai and Redfox-senpai want to see me," Kirishima raised a brow. "What for,"
"Maybe it's for work-study," Asui guessed.
Uraraka perked up "wow now I got my hopes up,"
Kirishima groaned "Man I can't wait till tomorrow I'm going to the third year dorms right now,"
"We'll go to, come on Ochako-chan," Asui said and the two followed Kirishima.
"We need to.."
"SHUT THE HELL UP!"
"Man those guys are lucky already finding places to do work-study," Sero signed. "Let's do our best to,"
Mineta scoffed and pervertly stared at Ashido "Who cares about work-study, we'll probably just be tasked with doing errands,"
"Oh isn't that what happened at your internship," Kaminari teased.
"GAH! Please don't remind me," Mineta screamed and everyone just laughed.
"Starting tomorrow my work-study officially begins, I need to give it my all, and prove I earned this power,"

The Next Day, Nighteye Agency
Midioriya, Natsu, and Mirio were all in costume, Nighteye detailing them on what they are doing.
"Today we are going on an investigation and patrol, we will break up into two teams, Mirio Natsu and Midoriya are a team, and I'll go with Bubble Girl," Nighteye told them.
"Investigation," Midoriya said.
"Our agency is currently working on a secret investigation," Bubble Girl told him.
Sir then placed his notes on the desk "The Shie Hasskai is a small group of villains, we are after its young head its number 2 Chisaki," he showed everyone a picture of a young man in a plague mask.
Natsu's eyes narrowed "he was that guy from last year,"
"Woah, what a scary mask," Midoirya's eyes widened."But aren't designated villain groups under police surveillance,"
"You see there was a huge break up in the past, but this Chisaki guy started gathering them," Bubble girl explained. "We even learned he got in contact with the League of Villains,"
"League of Villains," Midioriya said shocked.
"Yes, but we haven't narrowed down if he's done anything criminal," Nighteye said. "Because of that they are drawing from gray to black, and what we are after is the tail if you encounter him be sure to not raise any suspicion,"
"Yes sir," the four bowed.
…
"Hey look heroes," a group of girls pointed towards Natsu, Midoriya, and Mirio. "Look the one in green is from the UA sports fest,"
Midoriya was blushing, while Natsu and Mirio just waved and smiled at the girls.
"Come on Midoriya, you are acting like a girl has never said 'hi' to you before," Natsu teased.
"Sorry," Midoriya said. "I'm just nervous,"
"Patrol is normal when you're a hero you'll get used to people looking at you," Mirio told him. "You must have done it during internships, or was the League of Villains attack traumatic for you,"
"No, for various reasons I couldn't experience the basics," Midoriya responded.
"Oh you mean the Hero Killer in Hosu right heard you were there," Natsu said, and Midoriya nodded. "Hey did you see Endeavor take him down,"
Midoriya nodded "Yeah, he was super strong. I can't let them know it was me, Iida-kun and Todoroki-kun who took him down,"
"Don't worry Sir and Bubble Girl are going after the real target, we're just patrolling," Mirio smiled "So stick with us, We'll teach you lots of stuff," Mirio posed.
"Yes sir," Midoriya smiled.
"So Midoriya, I have a question for you," Natsu asked.
"Um, yes Dragneel-senpai," Midoriya said.
"Todoroki Shoto, what kind of guy is he," Natsu asked and Midoriya was surprised.
"Todoroki-kun, he is a super strong and serious person, but he is also very kind and sometimes can be very funny. I'm glad to call him my friend," Midoriya smiled.
"I see," Natsu said, stroking his chin.
"Why do you ask," Midoriya wondered.
Mirio smiled "You see when we were first years Natsu interred under Endeavor,"
"EH!" Midoriya shouted. "You interned under Endeavor," and Natsu nodded. "Then why are you doing work-study under Sir Nighteye,"
"Well, we didn't get along that well," Natsu answered. "I didn't get much there too,"
"So why ask me about Todoroki-kun," Midoriya asked.
"Well, I just want to know if he's like his old man or not. That's all, Endeavor only told me about him, don't worry I'm sure I'll get to know him soon, let's go," Natsu patted Midoriya's shoulder.
Mirio then stopped "Oh that's right we never told our hero names did we,"
"Oh that's right," Natsu said, 'So what's your hero name Midoriya,"
Midoriya smiled, "My hero name is Deku," he said proudly.
Both Mirio and Natsu were surprised by the choice in name.
"Deku? Deck," Mirio said confused.
"Doesn't that mean useless," Natsu asked.
"Are you sure you're okay with that," Mirio asked.
"I actually like it, and yes it may mean useless, but I learned it can sound like Deku who always does his best," Midoriya smiled proudly.
Both Natsu and Mirio were shocked but smiled at Midoriya.
"Well, you can call me Salamander," Natsu smirked.
"Like the creature of fire, I get it. It suits you," Midoriya smiled.
"Well my name is Lemillion," Mirio said proudly "I don't have to save everyone, but I'll save a million that's what I want to do. You see once we put on our costumes, and go out on the streets we're heroes,"
The three continued their patrol, and Natsu felt something he heard small footsteps running and heard heavy breathing. As the three walked they were to pass a dark alley, a small girl with gray hair and a small horn on her head, bumped into Deku's leg, causing the first year to stop.
Midoriya bent down towards the girl, and the three took notice she was wearing a hospital gown and had bandages all over her arms and legs "I'm sorry, are you okay, are you hurt," Deku gave her a kind smile.
Deku was about to help her up, but she instantly tensed up in fear, "Can you stand? Are you okay?" he asked her, Midoriya then picked up her "she's trembling," he helped her back her feet.
"Eri, you know you shouldn't be causing trouble for heroes," a man's voice said.
Midoriya looked up and his eyes widened, while both Natsu and Mirio's narrowed. Out of the shadow of the alley appeared the man they were searching for Chisaki. "He's the one from the photos,"
"Chisaki," Natsu's eyes narrowed.
"I'm so sorry for my daughter," Chisaki feigned kindness "She plays around so much she hurt herself,"
"This is Shie Hassakai's Chisaki," Midoriya trembled. Both Natsu and Mirio took notice of Midoriya's terrified face.
Thinking quickly Mirio pulled Midoriya's hood over "Hey your hood came off again, maybe your size is off,"
"You need to pay attention to detail when you design your costume." Natsu faked and teased Midoriya.
"We're sorry for bumping into her," Mirio faked a smile.
"Oh, right my expression I'm not supposed to let him suspect anything. I hope he didn't catch my 'no way' face," Midoriya thought.
"Wow, what a cool mask, you must be Hassakai right," Natsu smiled.
"Yeah you guys are famous around here," Mirio said.
"Yes," Chisaki nodded "Don't worry about the mask I'm just a germaphobe, and it's my first time meeting heroes,"
"Aw, I see well we're actually pretty new," Natsu responded.
Mirio nodded and turned to Midoriya "Come on partner lets go, he's on guard we can't let him know we work for Sir,"
"Hmm, so what hero agency do you guys work for," Chisaki asked.
"Oh you know just the local hero agency," Mirio lied. "And we're just students gaining experience, so let's go guys,"
"Um right," Midoriya tried to stand up, but Eri held on to his costume.
"Please don't go," she begged in his chest, Midoriya tensed at this feeling of fear coming from this little girl, something both Natsu and Mirio noticed.
"Um it seems your daughter is scared of something," Midoriya said.
Chisaki's eyes narrowed "Well I did scold her earlier for being naughty,"
"Midoriya, you need to stop," Natsu grit his teeth.
"You're going to let him know we're on to him," Mirio clenched. "Come on partner lets go,"
"Yeah," Natsu faked a smile "We have to get back soon the boss we'll mad if we're late.,"
"She won't let go of me and she's trembling in fear of him," Midoriya thought "your daughter's bandages don't seem to be from playing too much,"
"She's rather clumsy so she falls a lot," Chisaki simply answered.
"Um well for a small child to be trembling like this with no noise, it doesn't seem normal," Midoriya held Eri to his chest.
Chisaki furrowed his brow and narrowed his eyes "You shouldn't press your definition of 'normal' on others hero,"
"Everyone does have different dispositions," Mirio said. "Midoriya-kun stop,"
"Your meddling is going to put the kid in danger," Natsu clenched his fist. "I know you want to help her but now's not the time,"
"Chisaki doesn't want you to pry, if you keep pushing then he won't appear again and Sir's investigation will be ruined," Mirio thought.
"But a hero can't leave a frightened child like this," Midoriya held the girl closer.
Once we put on our costumes and hit the street we are heroes.
"What are you doing to his girl," Midoriya questioned.
Both Natsu and Mirio froze, Midoriya was putting the entire investigation at risk right now.
Chisaki let out a sign "Huh, heroes are always so sensitive to subtle signs of people, fine follow me if you want to know," Chisaki then turned around and walked in the dark alley.
The three heroes just looked at each other and nodded, they followed the young yakuza.
"You know recently I have been having problems with Eri," Chisaki told them.
"Parenting is a difficult job," Mirio feigns laughter.
Chisaki simply shrugged "Yes, children now are so hard to understand," it was then he reached for his glove and started to remove it. It was then Eri shivered in fear, she felt the bloodlust coming from him, as he turned to face them.
Eri then jumped out of Midoriya's arms, shocking the young first year. Midoriya tried to stop her but both Natsu and Mirio stopped him.
"You are done with your tantrum," Chisaki questioned Eri, and the girl nodded. "Good, then we'll be going now,"
"Wa.." but Natsu stopped Midoriya by grabbing his shoulder.
"I'm sorry for her behavior, so farewell," Chisaki took Eri into the darkness of the alley.
"Eri-chan," Midoriya said.
"Don't chase after him," Natsu ordered.
Mirio nodded "you felt the bloodlust from him didn't you, if we fought Eri-chan would have been put in more danger, lets report to Sir,"
Natsu agreed and took out his phone calling Bubble Girl. "Hello, Bubble Girl we got a situation,"
Later
"So Chisaki has a daughter," Nighteye said in a meeting with the students.
Mirio nodded "Her name is Eri,"
"And she was covered in injuries," Natsu told him.
"We're sorry Sir, we ran into him by accident," Mirio explained.
Natsu nodded "We had no idea he'd be here,"
Sir shook his head "No it's my fault, I've should have used Foresight on one of you then we would have known,"
"But it's great you three are okay," Bubble Girl smiled. "If you three engaged then something bad would have happened,"
Midoriya nodded "Yeah, it didn't seem that scary,"
Nighteye pushed up his glasses "The other day of a group of robbers were arrested, but they seemed off like something was wrong with them, as based on evidence left at the scene it seems someone used their quirk on them. Due to their being no injuries and fatalities
it might have been Chisaki's quirk at work due to the destroyed evidence,"
"It seems suspicious, but because there was no evidence, he wasn't arrested but it was still strange," Bubble said.
"So I guess we're lucky to find out he has a daughter now we got a lead," Natsu smirked.
"But we should have saved her, she was obviously in danger, why didn't we," Midoriya was interrupted.
Nighteye pointed at him "Don't act arrogant, Haste makes waste. If you acted then the girl would have been put in more danger and our entire investigation would have been ruined. You're not special to save anyone anytime you want to, We are currently now trying to team up with other agencies on this case," he lectured, and Midoriya looked down depressed.
"For now, we need to predict what Chisaki will do next, and after thorough analysis, we will devise a plan to capture him," Nighteye explained."The world is not as soft as you think, you can't always jump in and save people. Some Things take time. You three head back to the office and then go home. Let's go Bubble,"
Midoriya just looked down as the rain poured down on him, both Natsu and Mirio feeling bad for him.
"Sorry Midoriya, it may seem harsh but Sir is right. Things take time. If we would have fought him then the girl would have been killed," Natsu thought.
…
In an unknown facility, Eri was escorted to an operating room.
"Now Eri, are you ready you are the crux of my grand plan," Chisaki took her to an operating chair. Eri was silently traumatized at what she saw earlier, Chisaki murdering her 'watcher' the man just exploded in front of her.
It was then a small person in black in a plague mask walked up.
"Boss, its Shigaraki he has an answer for your offer,"
Chisaki's eyes just narrowed.
It was then in the current night sky, once again the sky cracked the crack from the previous nights growing a little larger.
