Well, by the time this chapter is out, it should be the new year's. Sooo… Happy new year yes? Or early new year I don't know… anyways here's the next chapter and this would take up two chapters of the volume 2. A Minor Hiccup and Painting the Town... So yea this boi is going to be a long one. Chapter 14

Painting the town pink

It was a day after Jade had met Cinder and her party and all of team RWBY can see the tension between both of them. This understandably got all of them concerned about Jade's relationship with them and why. When they tried to ask him about it, Jade refused to give a proper answer but he just says that he had a poor history with them. Seeing that Jade refused to budge any further about the issue, most of them dropped it except for Blake.

At the time… everyone was at Professor Port's class and waiting for it to end.

Weiss can be seen patiently waiting out the minute left on her holographic clock displayed from her desk in the classroom of Professor Peter Port, whose can be heard rambling as merely background nonsense as Jaune slides up next to Weiss to ask her.

"So, Weiss, y'know, uh, I-I was thinking after this, maybe we could go grab a bite to eat? And, uh um, I-I've got two tickets to that new Spruce Willis movie, if you wanna make the trip to Vale. I hear it's awesome." Jaune gave a pause before continuing on.

"Aaaand maybe after that, we could study together? I mean, you're smart and I'm, uh... Y'know." Jaune continued talking as Weiss ignored him and Jade just glanced as Jaune's failed attempt to talk to Weiss before sighing internally.

"For fucks sake Jaune… You are dense as hell if you don't even realize that Pyrrha likes you but… who am I to stop your path anyways. This stupidity is pissing me off."

Finally, the clock in front of Weiss gives a shrill beep as it changes from 3:59 pm to 4:00pm, and she dismisses it with a wave of her hand. Professor Port was temporarily unaware of the alarm.

"And then I— Oh." Professor Port straightens his stance as the students start to leave without informing him.

"Timed that one wrong, I guess. Well, the stunning conclusion to this story will have to wait. Until next time!"

"Weiss? Did you hear me?" Jaune asked as he watched Weiss as she packed up her Scroll.

"No, no, no, yes." Weiss answered Jaune while not even looking at Jaune as she walked away.

Upon hearing this, Jaune groans and does a faceplant into his desk. As Jade silently chuckles at Jaune's failed attempt to ask her out.

"One day." Yang says to Jaune as she ruffles Jaune's hair without even looking as everyone leaves the classroom.

"I thought that class would never end." Blake groaned.

"You and me both Blake… I question how does the professor get the job in the first place with all that talk that reeks of ego and exaggeration." Jade says back to his girlfriend as he was on the chair checking Lumina.

"Alright, guys, today's the day! The investigation begins!" Ruby cheerfully says as she happily leaps off her mattress and onto the floor, arms raised excitedly. She almost lands on Weiss, who is on the bottom bunk.

"I'm glad to see we're taking this so seriously." Weiss sarcastically commented as Jade snorted at it.

"Hey, we've got a plan! That's... moderately serious." Yang tried to counter Weiss's sarcastic comment.

"Serious or not, it could lead us to be stuck in detention with Miss Goodwitch for a long while if we mess up, or we also could get injured if we are not careful." Jade states as he gets up from his chair and walks beside Blake.

"Well… that's why we have our own roles, so everything should go well, assuming we stick with the plan." Blake addresses Jade.

"Sorry to burst your bubble Blake, but plans tend to fail when stuff goes out of control." Jade countered his girlfriend.

"Right!" Ruby enthusiastically says as she looks around at her teammates."

"Everyone remember their roles?" Ruby asked her teammates as Weiss stood up.

"You and I will head to the CCT and check the Schnee records for any other Dust robberies or inconsistencies. Seeing as I'm in the family, it shouldn't be a problem." Weiss states her role.

"The White Fang has regular faction meetings to hand out orders and recruit new members. If I and Jade can get in, both of us can hopefully find out what they're planning."

"Yep… though if we see Torchwick there with the White Fang like last time…" Jade muttered.

"It could prove that both of them are under someone else…" Blake then added in.

"I can go and visit Junior's club; he typically knows everything going on in Vale. Getting information out of him shouldn't be too hard…" Yang says.

"Great! We'll meet up tonight near Yang to go over what we found." Ruby says as she pumps her fist.

"Wait… someone is snooping outside our... windows?" Jade's ears were twitching around only for confusion to appear on his face.

Everyone then glanced at the windows as Jade cautiously walked up to it, and opened it. Only to get startled as Sun appeared outside suddenly while hanging upside down.

"Hey guys!" Sun cheerfully says.

"Sun!" Both Blake and Jade say with shock and alarm in their voice.

"How the hell did you get up here Sun? We are several floors above ground?" Jade began questioning Sun.

"Ah, it's easy; I do it all the time." Sun nonchalantly commented.

"You do what?!" Weiss yelled at the monkey faunus.

"I climb trees all the time!" Sun responded back without reacting to Weiss' scowl as he flips into the dorm room before continuing on.

"So, are we finally getting back at that Torchwick guy?"

"We are going to investigate the situation as a team." Blake says.

"Well… we could always use more help" Jade muttered.

"Sorry, Sun. We don't want to get friends involved if we don't have to." Ruby apologies to Sun

"Psh! That's dumb! We should always get friends involved! That's why I brought Neptune!" Sun then gestured out the window.

"Wait, if you brought Neptune along… where is he then?" Jade asked.

Everyone then leaned outside their window only to see Neptune hugging the wall with a concerned look on his face.

"Sup?" Nep Nep says.

"How did you even get up here?" Ruby questioned.

"I have my ways."

"You have your ways? You are really high up here… and your only support is a really thin ledge." Jade then pointed out.

"Seriously, though, can I come in? We're like, really high up right now." Neptune nervously says as Jade sighs as he extends his arm towards Neptune.

"Hang on Neptune… I got you." Jade just says as multiple small tendrils then exited Jade's sleeve quickly and began to wrap around Neptune's arms and legs much to his shock and confusion.

"Whoa! Whoa! Whoa! Jade what are you doing Jade?" Neptune, now really terrified, asked.

"Just let me get you in and quit your panicking." Jade just says as he then used his semblance to take Neptune into team RWBY's dorm before dropping him on the floor with a thud.

"Ow… Thank you Jade." Neptune muttered as he got himself off the floor."

"Alright, I'll go with Weiss; Sun, you can go with Blake and Jade." Ruby says as she pushes Neptune past Weiss, he slips her a wink. Weiss looks mildly shocked but then comes to her senses quickly.

"And Neptune, you can go with Yang since she doesn't have a partner. Everyone good?" Ruby said.

"Actually, Ruby, why don't you go with Yang? After all, she is your sister." Weiss suggested.

"But, Weiss, who would go with you, then?" Ruby asked her partner

"Well... I guess Neptune could come with me."

"Hahaha, nah!" Ruby just laughed off Weiss's suggestion.

Weiss is obviously less than amused, yet is powerless to stop Ruby from pulling her by the back out the door.

"But! But!" Those were Weiss's last words as she was dragged away by Ruby.

Jade just chuckled at the sight before looking back at his remaining team (plus Sun and Neptune.)

"Well, I don't know about you guys but, Blake, Sun, we should go now. We have a meeting to infiltrate." Jade says as he held Blakes hand and walked out the door with Sun following behind them.

Much later…

Blake, Jade and Sun had just arrived outside the warehouse and were hiding beside a wall that had three scratch marks on a wall. All three of them peeked around its corner and saw a pair of horned Faunus as they were ushered into a building by a bearded man. Blake then turned back to her boyfriend and Sun.

"This is it."

"Yep… I suggest we put on our mask now." Jade said as Blake passed him a Grimm mask to wear.

"You sure this is the right place?" Sun asked as both feline faunus nodded at him.

"Yes Sun, now let's go." Jade told Sun as all of them walked inside the building to a hallway filled with cases, they then saw another man announcing.

"New recruits, keep to the right!" He announced as the three of them followed the rest of the recruits.

"I don't get it." Sun questions as he holds out the half-mask in his hand. "If you believe what you're doing is right, why hide who you are?"

Blake then explained, "The masks are a symbol. Humanity wanted to make monsters out of us, so we chose to don the faces of monsters."

"But that just gave humanity more justification to compare us to monsters… I don't understand them…" Jade shakes his head as he wears the mask.

"Grimm masks... That's kind of dark." Sun muttered.

"So was the guy who started it." Blake says with a tinge of guilt as she puts her mask on and walks on with the guys following her.

"Blake… I guess that guy is Adam?" Jade says as Blake looked at him with shock and surprise on her face as she stopped walking.

"How did you know that name?" She asked.

"Some White Fang members came to me to recruit me before I chased them off me. They also told me that they are following the orders of this man called Adam Taurus. Other than that… It just made the most sense." Jade answered Blake honestly.

Blake gave a pregnant pause before nodding and told Jade, "I… I, no, we need to talk about it after this ok?"

"Sure Blake, anything for you." Jade nodded as all of them resumed their walking.

"I don't understand what you guys are talking about but ok then…" Sun just muttered as he followed the feline couple.

After a bit of walking, all three of them then arrived at a large room with a stage in front of the room, it was then that they moved and joined the rest of the recruits at the side of the stage. On the other side of the stage, there were hundreds of white-vested, black-hooded soldiers to their left and above them on the balconies. The whole warehouse was filled with people as a White Fang lieutenant then walked onto the stage and started speaking before the large crowds before him.

"Thank you all for coming. For those of you who are joining us for the first time tonight, allow me to introduce a very special comrade of ours! I can assure you; he is the key to obtaining what we have fought for for so long!" He spoke with passion in his voice.

"All seriousness, how on remnant did the police not notice this kind of event coming along? Are they really this incompetent at their jobs that the White Fang can have rallies in the city?" Jade face scrunch up underneath his Grimm mask though Blake noticed his expression change.

"Jade? Are you alright?" She asked.

"Hmm… Yes… Just that, the fact that they can have rallies here without worry that the police stopping them is pissing me off at how incompetent they are." Jade assured Blake's worry as a familiar face made his appearance.

Roman then appeared on stage while waving mockingly at everyone present as another really short girl (Oh look, it's everyone's favourite best girl, Neo) makes her presence known. Roman then spoke out.

"Who's the midget behind Roman?" Jade asked.

"I have no idea… an accomplice?" Blake offered an answer.

"Could be a new henchwoman." Sun offered another answer.

"Thank you, thank you! Please, hold your applause!" He says with a mocking tone.

The Faunus with antlers in front of the three of them pointed at Roman before yelling, "What's a human doing here?!"

"I'm glad you asked, "Deerie!" Now, I'll be the first to admit, humans... are the worst." Roman then salutes and continues on. "Case in point. So, I understand why you would like to see us all locked away, or, better yet, killed!"

"So, is he going somewhere with this?" Sun asked as he leaned in towards both Blake and Jade.

"I guess the big reveal… But, whatever it is, it would be bad news." Jade muttered.

"But, before the claws come out, I'd like to mention the fact that you and I all have a common enemy: the ones in control, the people pulling the strings, the dirty, rotten humans that run our kingdoms!" Roman began his speech as the crowd changed their tune and started agreeing with him.

"Government, military, even the schools: they're all to blame for your lot in life!" As Roman continued with his speech, the crowds began to cheer more loudly as both Blake and Sun looked more nervous as they looked at each other and Jade, while Jade thoughts were on fire.

"DAMMIT! Even the schools are not safe?! Just what the hell are you planning Torchwick? The school has faunus students in them, attacking them won't help the faunus cause… Something is not right..."

"And they're all pests that need to be dealt with! Fortunately, I'm the best exterminator around... No offense to any rodents in the room."

Roman then snapped his finger as the curtain behind him fell. Behind him was an Atlesian Paladin-290 and the whole crowd began cheering and applauding at the new toy they had.

"Whoa, that's a big robot…" Sun muttered.

"How did he get that?" Blake asked while in shock.

"Oh dear me… This is not good…" Jade's eyes were wide open upon seeing the Atlesian Paladin.

"As some of you may have heard, this right here…" Roman then taps the giant mech in the legs before resuming his talk. "...is Atlas' newest defence against all the scary things in the world. And thanks to my "employer", we've managed to snag a few before they, uh, "hit the shelves." Roman gave a pause before continuing on.

"Now, many of your brothers have already moved down to our new operation in the southeast. If you'd rather stay within the city, that's fine... But if you're truly ready to fight for what you believe in; this is the arsenal I can provide you. Any questions?" Roman asked as the White Fang crowds roared with applause.

"We need to get out of here, Now." Blake tells her group.

"We can't." Jade says as the White Fang Lieutenant then calls.

"Will all new recruits, please come forward!"

All three of them had to follow the rest of the recruits lest they get detected on the way out, Sun then says, "Welp!"

All of the White Fang were still cheering loudly as the recruits (Plus Blake, Jade and Sun who had no choice) all walked on to the stage.

"What are we going to do?!" Sun whispered panicky to the faunus couple.

"I'm thinking…" Blake muttered.

"I got an idea…" Jade mumbled loudly enough so only Blake and Sun can hear them.

"Then let's hear it…" Blake says.

"I have a special grenade that would blind and stun everyone here, but we need to close our eyes and ears or else we would also be affected by it as well. There's also a junction box above us, you can shoot it out with your Gambol Shroud Blake. Also, wait for my signal." Jade explained his plan as the other two nodded in agreement.

Roman can be seen leaning on the robot while smoking and laughing till he notices three very familiar people among the recruits. Roman then had his eyes on them as he frowned.

"NOW!" Jade yelled as he armed his grenade and Blake then unsheathed Gambol Shroud, transformed it into a pistol, and shot at the box, making the lights go out for the whole building and turning the screen dark.

"Don't let them get away!" Roman yelled out only for Jade to yell as well."

"Cover your ears!" Jade yelled as Jade threw the grenade into the air as all three of them covered their ears.

A loud bang and a flash of light can be heard as screams of confusion and pain can be heard throughout the warehouse. All three of them ran through the stunned members of the White Fang who were on the ground and rushed the windows.

"Guys! The window!" Blake yelled as all three of them crashed through the window and ran as fast as they could, as the mechanized sound can be heard behind them and then the sounds of something crashing behind them.

All three of them could see Roman inside the Atlesian Paladin and chasing them.

"Guys! Go get on the roofs and call for help! I will slow it down and try to reduce collateral damage!"

"What! Jade! You can't fight it alone!" Blake calls Jade as he stops and faces the Atlesian Paladin with Roman inside it.

"Just go Blake! I will be fine!"

Blake ran up to Jade and gave him a hug and kiss on the lips before separating and saying. "Then you better stay alive till help comes."

"I will Blake, I will. Now go!" Jade said to Blake as she nodded and ran with Sun to get help.

"Now then let the party begin…" Those were Jade words as his clothing changes to his combat uniform and his mask appears on his face. He also took out his guns and charged straight at the Atlesian Paladin.

Blake then called everyone, "Everyone! If you can hear me, we need help now! Jade is now fighting a-"

"Big robot! A really big one!" Sun yelled.

"And it's controlled by Roman! We need your help guys! Jade needs our help! He is fighting it alone!" Blake yells as both she and Sun get some distance away as they can see Jade running and shooting at the Atlesian Paladin by himself as it chases him through the streets.

Back with Jade...

"Come on!" Jade yelled as the Atlesian Paladin began firing on him with rockets as Jade shot all of it down before dashing and dodging all the bullets sent his way, Jade then transformed his guns into swords before getting close to rodeo it.

The Atlesian Paladin then tried to punch Jade only for it to miss him as Jade mounted the Atlesian Paladin and climbed to its back and started stabbing small gaps in the Atlesian Paladin with Thorn. The robot then attempts to shake off Jade on his back by crushing him on the buildings, though by the time it does that, Jade already jumped off it and disabled one of its missile launchers and a couple of it's laser sensors on its backside.

As Jade was busy with the Atlesian Paladin piloted by Roman Torchwick, the rest of the team arrived.

"Blake! Are you alright?" Ruby calls out as she arrives, followed by Yang and Neptune.

"Blake!"

"Where's Weiss? Jade needs our help!" Blake asked as an explosion can be heard from the Atlesian Paladin which draws everyone's attention as one of its rocket pods blew up, this caused it to stumble slightly as Jade tried to capitalize it only for the Atlesian Paladin to smack Jade aside and send him flying (Conveniently) to where everyone is at.

"Jade! Are you alright?" Blake called out as Jade landed near her.

"I'm good Blake, but ow…" Jade winched as he felt his body throbbed from being hit by a giant robot.

"Blake! I'm in position!" Weiss called out as she freezes the ground beneath the Atlesian Paladin causing it to slip and crash into the ground.

"Freezer Burn!" Ruby shouted as both Yang and Weiss got into position, as Sun used his semblance to distract the Atlesian Paladin as it got up.

Weiss creates another circle of ice, which Yang smashes with Ember Celica, creating mist around the mech. Roman activates the mech's lasers in an effort to locate the team but with Jade already smashed a couple of them, this reduces the robot's efficiency at spotting them. It also does not help that the cloud is effective at screening their movements as they quickly circle him.

Jade then yelled out, "Target its sensors and expose parts!"

"Right!" Everyone responded as they began to slice, punch, stab, shoot. As Roman desperately tries to chase them off him.

"Checkmate!" Ruby yelled.

Blake and Weiss go in this time, each girl going for the feet until Weiss jumps up and stabs a sensor before leaping off of a white glyph. The mech lift's foot to crush Blake, but Weiss summons another glyph under her teammate to launch her backwards before the crushing blow can land. The mech then fires off the missiles, but Weiss and Blake flip backwards as the explosions merely hit where they were.

Finally, Weiss jumps up too high, and Roman fires a double energy blast at her. Myrtenaster absorbs the damage, but Weiss is thrown back, so she casts a beam of light from her weapon to the ground under Blake, forming a yellow clockwork circle that's absorbed into the Blake and lets her slice through each launched missile with ease in a flurry of super-fast slashes.

Jade then jumped in and jammed his sword into the cockpit, scaring Roman as the Blade just missed his face while Jade started shooting into the cockpit. Most of Jade rounds lodged into the armour of the mech as a couple made it through the holes and into the mech. Some of the bullets hit Roman but he was fine because aura.

"Everyone! Pull back! I'm going to electrify the mech and shut it down!" Jade yelled as he pulled out his smoke and electric dust grenades.

As everyone pulled back, Jade then shoved both grenades down the holes made by the team and himself. He then jumped off as the grenades detonated, covering it in a thick line of smoke and electricity. Various noises of bullets prefiring or missiles detonating from the electricity can be heard in the electric smoke cloud. Roman's screams of pain can also be heard from within the mech.

As the smoke cleared away… The team was surprised that the mech is still somewhat fine, though it's missile launchers and its double-barrelled guns were disabled, but its energy guns are still operational. It has also lost most of its armour all over its body with a notable exposure at the shoulders.

"Ruby, orders?" Jade then glanced at Ruby who then Yelled.

"Black Heart! Aim for the arms!" she yelled,

Both Blake and Jade nodded and dashed off to the mech, as it shot at both of them. Weiss then used her glyphs to enhance both Blake's and Jade's speed as Jade then grabbed Blake's ribbon as she spun quickly and sent Jade flying. Jade then yanked Blake's ribbon which took her along for the ride. Both of them were sent flying towards the mech at ridiculous speeds. It was then that both of them let out a Yell as they spun in the air towards the Torchwick's mech and sliced its arms clean off.

Roman, now getting really desperate, attempts to make a run for it as the mech began to turn and run towards the White Fang warehouse.

"He's getting away!" Yang shouts as everyone pursues the retreating mech.

"Shit! He is trying to get help!" Jade yells out as he dashes in ahead of everyone else.

"Weiss! Freeze it! Everyone else, hit the legs!"

"Right!" Everyone responded back as Weiss freezes the mech's legs again.

The Atlesian Paladin then struggled to release its legs from the ice only for Yang to punch it hard enough that a chunk of it fell off exposing Roman to everyone else. Roman was also dazed from Yang's punch.

"Roman Torchwick, you are under arrest." Jade says as he jumped on to the Atlesian Paladin while keeping his gun pointed at his head

"Well you caught me… kitty cat? What will you-" Roman did not finish his taunt as Jade whacked him hard with the barrel of his gun.

"You talk too much…" Jade just muttered as he pulled an unconscious Roman over his shoulder and dropped from the ruined mech and walked towards his team.

Jade should have been glad that they managed to capture Torchwick, but this seems too easy… He still remembers the pink and brown-haired girl earlier but where is she?

"Jade! Behind you!" Raphael's voice can be heard in his head as he ducked at the sound of shattering glass and a (Parasol?) that swung over him.

"Jade!" his teammates called to him as he dashed back while avoiding Neo's attacks.

Jade then pulls Thorn out and points it at Neo as she glares at him.

"I have no arguments with you. But, I won't hesitate to defend myself or kill your boss." Jade says as he shifts the gun from pointing at Neo to Torchwick's head.

"Jade you can't be serious! We need him alive!"

"Wait! Jade! Don't kill him!"

"Jade what are you doing?!"

"Don't interfere now guys! Let me handle it…" Jade says to his team while keeping an eye on the psychotic midget.

Neo seemingly did not take the bait and kept walking towards Jade. Realising this, Jade then fired a shot that landed near Neo's foot before giving another warning.

"Like I said earlier, let us go, or your boss dies here… You can't even get close to me before I pull the trigger. That includes your semblance. Just turn around, and walk away." Jade's eyes remained cold as he stared into Neo's eyes. Neo stopped in her tracks and angrily glared into Jade's eyes; the tension was high as team RWBY were ready to act but Jade told them not to. After a pregnant pause, police sirens could be heard in the background as Jade smirk at Neo.

"I win… Now get out of here. Les you have cops, no matter how awful they are at their jobs coming after you."

Neo continues to stare at Jade before turning around and walking away which earns a sigh of relief from Jade as Neo then uses her semblance to shatter herself and disappear, leaving Jade and his team alone. 10 minutes passed before Jade finally said something.

"That went better somehow…" Jade dropped Roman's unconscious body to the floor as he fell on his butt from exhaustion only to receive a slap to the face from Blake and a hug.

"Jade! What the hell were you thinking when you did that! And don't you ever pull it off again!" She yelled.

"Did you really mean that you would kill Torchwick if she would not back out?" Yang then questioned Jade.

"I want to know what you were thinking when you pulled that out." Weiss was next to voice her thoughts.

"Guys! Let Jade explain himself." Ruby yelled at her team to let Jade explain himself which he did.

"Thank you Ruby," Jade thanked her as he hugged Blake before giving his reason. "I threatened to kill Torchwick over here (he points at Torchwick who is still unconscious.) to get here off me, as you saw, she did not take the bait earlier, so I have to encourage her to back off. I'm glad she actually bought it... Though we still need to keep an open eye in case she attacks us when we have our guard down."

"So what you did was all an act to chase her off right?" Ruby asked as both Blake and Jade got off the ground.

"Yes… though if she did not pull back after my warning, I will pull the trigger." Jade admitted which caused shock among his team.

"WHAT!"

"How could you?!"

"Why!"

Various responses bombarded Jade as he walked and picked up the unconscious Torchwick and sighed as team RWBY had faces of shock, confusion, anger or a mixture of it.

"I understand why you are pissed off by my actions."

"Pissed is an understatement." Yang muttered angrily as her eyes turned to red.

"But I need to do it, criminals would abuse your kindness. I know it first hand, you cannot be merciful lest they abuse your generosity and kindness for their own gain. If you don't understand why I did it… I won't blame you, but sometimes you have to play dirty to win against them."

"Jade, why would you do that? Was it really necessary to hold Torchwick hostage?" Ruby questioned Jade.

"Ruby… I understand that you are still young and that you have much to learn. But please… they will use your mercy to their advantage. Sometimes, you just get to play unfair. Besides, if I did not do that… she would have taken him and left." Jade answered back.

"Jade, while I disapprove of you using Torchwick as a hostage, I suppose it was necessary to prevent him from escaping away like last time." Blake was the first to speak out.

"I suppose I could close one eye on it… But promise me that you refrain from doing this in the future, Jade Grayson. It makes us huntsman-in-training look bad." Weiss was surprisingly next to speak her mind.

"I well… I suppose it wasn't all bad, after all… We all have a smashing time dealing with Torchwick and getting him arrested."

Everyone groaned at Yang's smashing pun before Jade got everyone's attention.

"Oh for Oum's sake Yang. Anyways… We should go now… Torchwick is heavy."

"Uh… Where's Sun and Neptune?" Ruby realised that both guys seemed to have run off somewhere.

"Your guess is as good as mine. Can someone call them or something?"

All of team RWBY just shrugged then made their way to pass Torchwick to the police for them to deal with him. (despite how useless they are.) Unaware that Neo was still watching them from the buildings above before taking out her scroll to text Cinder about the issue before retreating. Cinder on the other hand, was understandably frustrated that Jade had once again unknowingly disrupted her plans for Beacon and she needed to make some adjustments to it.

Much later, team RWBY (and Jade) were brought into questioning by Ozpin and Glynda about it. (Jade was still holding Torchwick for some reason) And after a while, Ozpin let them go through Glynda protested that they should have let the professional handle it, while also taking Torchwick from Jade. After the whole mess was done, team RWBY (and Jade) were back in their rooms as Ruby debriefed them. (It was Jade that recommend they do this.)

"We did it guys! Team RWBY is the best!" Ruby cheered when all of them entered their dorm.

"Don't forget about me, Ruby." Jade says as he laid on the bed with Blake.

"Right! And I can say for all of us is that we all deserve a rest." She continued as everyone nodded.

"Well, with Torchwick in custody, we should not have to worry much right?" Yang asked.

"Not quite." Blake then commented which everyone then looked at her before she continued on.

"While Torchwick is indeed working with the White Fang, it still does not explain why he did it in the first place… It also does not help how doing the rally that me, Jade and Sun attended. He mentioned that they had plans to attack the government, Military and Beacon."

As Blake finished her talk, everyone except Jade had a look of shock on their faces. Jade then joined in.

"Torchwick also mentioned that they have a base operation in the southeast of the city. He also mentions that his employer is the one who gave him the Atlesian Paladin. This just proves that Torchwick is just a pawn."

Everyone was silent that Torchwick was just a pawn for someone else. Ruby was then the first one to speak after a pregnant pause.

"Well as leader of team RWBY (and Jade), we can continue this later. It is quite late already and we still have classes tomorrow." Ruby then yawns as she goes to the bathroom.

"Blake, do you want to come with me to the roofs?" Jade then asked as both of them were cuddling.

"Sure, it would take a while for everyone to use the bathroom but ok."

Both feline faunus left their dorm and made their way to the roofs. It was then that Blake wondered why Jade didn't get along with Cinder's group, Jade did give his reason why he disliked them but Blake believed that there was something more to it and she intended to find out why. Not out of curiosity, but out of concern. Jade had never acted aggressive to anyone unless necessary, but to Cinder's group, he actively showed his hostility to them and wanted nothing to do with them. This bothered Blake, to see her boyfriend act so differently worries her to a degree.

Both Blake and Jade had finally reached the roof as the stars in the night sky flicker as Jade can be seen staring up at it. Blake then decides to ask Jade as both of them lay on the floor and gaze up into the skies.

"Jade?" She asked him as she stared into the skies.

"Something on your mind Blake?" he says back.

"Yes… What is the actual reason why you don't like Cinder Fall and her team?" She asked.

Jade gave a pregnant silence before sighing and addressing Blake. "I suppose the answer I gave to your team does not satisfy you yes?" Blake just nodded as he continued.

"Remember the conversation we had back when I first joined your team? The one on one of my past employers that tried to have me killed because I don't want to work for her?"

Blake's eyes widen when she fits the pieces together. "Wait, Jade, are you saying that Cinder Fall tried to kill you for not working for her?"

"Yup." Jade says this as he nodded his head.

"Then should we do something?"

"Yes… But I lack evidence to prove that she is dangerous. So as of yet… I cannot do anything to her." Jade says to her as he sighed.

"Then at least have you informed Ozpin about it?"

"I did… I'm still trying to figure out why Cinder's here… Besides that, we should get going. We still have classes tomorrow." Jade said as he got up and extended his hand to Blake.

"Yea, we should go now." Blake smiled as she took his hand and was brought into a hug before both of them walked back to their dorm and ended the day. Jade also thanked Raphael mentally for warning him as he briefly materialised and nodded at Jade before disappearing.

And there's that. Chapter 13, first of all, have an early happy new year! And with a new year, a new beginning (hopefully.) Anyways we got quite a lot of stuff to talk about in this chapter.

I don't know if any of you cared but in this chapter Jade is wearing a white casual dress shirt with moss green pants and a green Jacket with his emblem on the back of his jacket.

Ok, first. There weren't a lot of changes, just some new dialogues with Jade included or how Jade just grabbed Nep Nep and dropped him into their dorm, or how Jade, Blake and Sun escaped the warehouse full of White Fang. Though the major change was the Fight against Roman in the mech suit. To be honest… I don't know if I did it well or not. So if you dislike it, leave a review or something.

The next part will be on Jade deciding to solo Roman till help arrives. The reason Jade did this is because he prefers to keep his friends safe. Yes it's a dumb idea to fight it but in a way. This showed that Jade is willing to be the sacrifice/ become a bait if it would keep the people he loved or cared safe. This will no doubt bite him in the ass in the future.

Next we have Jade using a flash bang grenade. While I never state in this chapter, Raphael has been giving ideas to Jade that would help him in the future. To be fair… throughout the volumes of RWBY, I never saw a flashbang being used. So I guess they were never invented. So… yea now Jade has access to flash bangs. Of course it took a while for Jade to figure out how to make it. (Perhaps I should make an omake about Jade making his first flash bang.)

Another thing I want to talk about is Jade and Blake combo Black heart. To be fair I wanted to make a team combo for Blake and Jade where they launched themselves at the opponent and strike hard and fast. After all, both of them are together, so it makes sense to me that both of them would make their own combos.

Next is Torchwick getting captured. At first, I wanted to stay canon, but… I want to make it different, so with Jade included. I wish to make it that Torchwick gets captured. The next part is why Neo did not attack Jade when he held Torchwick hostage. This is because Neo really cares for Torchwick, so it would make sense for her to step away when Jade threatens to shoot Torchwick in the head.

Next would be how team RWBY reacted to Jade using Torchwick as a hostage. All of them had not experienced how the underground or the world works. So when Jade used a tactic like taking hostages tactic to make sure that Neo does not take Torchwick away. I can expected that they would frown upon some of the things Jade has done. After all Jade has indeed mellowed out but he is still willing to play dirty. The tropes this play would be the Reformed, but Not Tamed trope if you were to ask me.
