Prologue
Petunia was expecting something like this to happen, she had warned Lily so many times but her darling little sister had ignored her. Petunia would never tell anyone but she had bad experience when it concerned the wizarding world, her previous boyfriend before she met Vernon was a wizard not that he told her but it was easy to figure it out since she had a witch for a sister and most of her cousins were wizards and witchs. She was not sad when he was killed by the death eaters, she was already pregnant and her twins had inherited his wealth.
She dreaded to think what her life would have become if Sebastian Blackthorn was alive, the guy was abusive and he didn't even act apologetic of his actions, no Petunia thanked her good fortune for his death after all it had brought her wealth, she likes to think that it was a compensation for her two years of suffering his constant abuse. Her marriage to Vernon was not for love, she didn't believe in such notions anymore it's purely for her peace of mind, he was not good looking nor smart and she could handle him fine, he is also very easy to manipulate.
Now looking at the bundle that was tossed at her doorstep last night and the letter that was left here, she had no idea what to do but she knew it wasn't something she could decide alone so she had called for a family meeting. She already had three children under five, and she wanted to handle her sister's funeral properly and check whether this blood ward thing was real and how to better protect her nephew.
Petunia was tired and sad and a little angry, by the end of the month she and her family had sorted and verified everything. Dumbledore was rather helpful though she never trusted the guy who left her nephew at her doorstep in the middle of November without even ringing the doorbell, she had found the little guy cold and nearly frozen early next morning.
They sorted the will of her sister and was a little hurt that she was at the end of list of people she wanted her son to care for, confirmed the blood ward and had checked her nephew's health before taking custody of him, Vernon was against it but few words from her was enough to settle it not that he can do anything change her decision. She had her cousins help her in renovating her house in it was a little crowded, they enlarged her bedrooms and added two rooms and a bathroom in the attic.
She has seven bedrooms now with enough space instead of the original three bedrooms with two small bedrooms, her master bedroom, two guest rooms, a room for her twins and a nursery room that she will eventually change to a bedroom for her son Dudley and a room for Vernon's sister even though she would rather not have her in her house, and a room for her nephew when he grows out of the nursery.
Petunia is not social person and doesn't have many friends but she does host her cousins sometimes so her guest rooms were going to be useful, she gets jealous when she sees what magic can do but her dislike for the wizarding world is enough that she would rather not have it.
Petunia was glad she had a family that cared even though her mother was a squib, her aunts had never abandoned them, helping them when Lily got her letter or when her boyfriend died and his family wanted to keep his inheritance. Why would she give up the money albeit wizarding money if the bastard had gifted her though on his part it was so he could humiliate his relatives and she was pregnant and he wanted his children to get his property.
Darius and Duncan Blackthorn are wizards and as her aunt told her a powerful ones, they had slowed down their accidental magic now that they are nearly five years old but she would have another magically powerful child under her roof, Dudley haven't displayed any accidental magic yet but he is only two so she would see if he turned into wizard.
Her great aunt Aurora has moved in No 5 after the previous neighbors moved to London, now she had a magical help near and extra protection her aunt was known for being ruthless, none of the death eaters who targeted her have lived to tell the tale, she and her sisters were famous as their family, her aunt told her that their father was disinherited after he supported muggleborns and later married a half-blood witch, Phineas Black had never truly reconciled with his family but they have left each other to themselves and ignored each other.
Phineas Black had three daughters and two sons, while her grandfather had twelve daughters, he had married three times twice to muggleborns and lastly to her grandmother who was half-blood. Her grandfather had lived to a year before Lily started Hogwarts, even then he was very young wizard when he died because of dragon box. Her mother was the only squib in her rather very extended family, her father was a child of a squib and a muggle and was very loving to her even when her mother preferred Lily for having a magic.
Her seeking the approval of her mother ended when she had dated Sebastian and had her kids, her mother had arranged her to marry a wizard from their family, one Cyrus Brown. She had not cared that she had just got out of fire pit or that she was nearly about to give birth, no her mother wanted her magical grandchildren and she would have it. She had married Vernon in order to spite her mother and to get away from her arrangements, Lily was married to a perfectly respectable family as her mother liked to say unlike her marriage.
Petunia could agree somethings about her mother's opinion about her current husband but she could get rid of him if she wanted, could protect her self but if she married another Sebastian and a one who knows that she knows about magic and could basically do anything to her without even her knowledge what with memory charms, she is terrified of having such partner and that's why she would never marry a wizard or let anyone she didn't trust do magic on her person. That's why she never introduced her family to Sebastian when they were together, he was a bully and only held back on using magic on her because he thought she was a muggle but if he knew that she was squib then wouldn't he have used curses on her instead of only using his fists that terrified her the most and she was thankful that he died before he could find out her secret.
