Well then. This chapter and the next one or two would be shorter than usual. After all, all of them are the interlude of different people after the fall. So in short, think of it like how each side reacts to it and how it had changed due to Jade's interference. Anyways, let's move on to the comments.
Selfishgecko: Yea, I find it weird how in other fics, the main character seems to never lose a body part or get critically injured at all (For most of the Fics I read). Or he seemed to be fine after getting their asses kicked. In a way, I'm trying to break the norm of the main character having ridiculous plot armour. Of course I am no exception as I made Jade somehow survive it. (Will be later explained in a future chapter)
As for your other point of Jade caring vials of blood for his personal use, I did some checking and Blood could only last for at least a day when it is not refrigerated. So yea it would be helpful but, In long journeys it won't last for more than a day. (unless he does it every day, which is really unhealthy and wasteful for him)
Now with the comments out of the way, let's move on to the Interlude.

Interlude Ruby
When Ruby woke up, all she heard was the tweeting of birds. Her silver eyes then cracked open only to be greeted by the bright morning sunlight. Her eyes shrunken as it adjusted to the brightness of the room. She then looked around to see her dad on the chair asleep. Ruby then sits up quietly and winces as a throbbing headache appeared in her mind. All she could wonder was what happened to her as she sighed.
Her dad stirred awake from Ruby's movement and the sound she was making. His fatherly and gentle eyes met his daughters confused silver eyes.
"Ruby!" Taiyang yelled in relief. He then gets up from his chair and rushes to knee by her bed while examining her condition. "You're awake!"
Ruby could only groan as she clutched her head. "Ugh… What happened?" Ruby could only ask.
"Your uncle Qrow found you, unconscious. He got you out of there, though, and brought you home safe." Her dad explained what happened to her while she was unconscious.
Ruby then looked down in deep thought as the events of the fall replayed back into her head. Cinder planning the fall of Beacon. All of the boarding the bullhead to reach Beacon but she couldn't remember the rest. It was all fuzzy for now. Ruby then swivelled her head towards her dad. "Wait Yang! Is she alright?!"
Tai covered his eyes for a moment as he thought of a way to explain to his daughter what had happened. Then he spoke hesitantly. "Uh… She's uh… gonna be alright. She is fine physically; I think she's just… I think it's gonna take some time for her to get used to things. She's strong; she won't let this stop her."
Tai then covered his eyes for a moment, sniffing as Ruby looked at him with concern in her face. She was glad that Yang wasn't hurt or worse but… was she really alright on the inside? Her dad made it sound like Yang was not okay on the inside. Last time when she remembered when she saw Yang, she was carrying an unconscious Blake in her hands but Jade was not with them, and it was then she went to look for him. Yang for the most part gave an expressionless look on her face but her eyes showed something that she thought she would never see in her sister. Fear.
Tai then looked up as Ruby with a watery smile on his face, as though he was trying to reassure her. "But I'm just glad to have my girls back at home."
Ruby was nevertheless still worried about Yang, but she also wanted to know what had happened since. "What happened to the school?! And Vale?! Were they able to clear out the Grimm?" Ruby then asked.
"Things at Vale are under control, but the school... It's... it's not that simple. That thing, whatever it is, doesn't seem to be dead. Don't get me wrong, you did a number on it. But it's not disappearing. It's... kind of... frozen. I know that doesn't sound too bad, but it keeps attracting more Grimm to the school." Tai then explained what happened to Vale to Ruby.
Ruby then tilted her head curiously at him. "I did... what?"
"Hmm?" Tai seemingly did not seem to understand her confusion.
"You said I did a number on it. What do you mean?" Ruby then clarified her last question.
"Tai noticeably flinched at Ruby's question. "I... Look, that's not important right now. We can talk about it later. Things are just... kind of a mess." Tai continues to give Ruby a vague explanation.
"It's always a mess."
Both Ruby and Taiyang turned their heads towards the source of the new voice, it is then in which both of them saw Qrow standing by the doorway as he swirls the contents of his flask before downing it quickly.
"Mind if we have a minute?" Qrow then asked his brother-in-law. Though it was obvious to Tai that Qrow's hidden message was clear. Leave. Now.
"What, I can't stay here?!" Tai protests about having to leave his daughter as he narrows his eyes at Qrow.
Qrow just gave Tai a pointed look with his red eyes. "Tai. Please." Qrow's voice had shown to Tai that he won't be making compromises.
Tai then stood up and sighed in response to Qrow's answer. He then leaned towards Ruby and gave her a kiss on her forehead.
"I'm just glad you're alright," Tai said to Ruby with a small smile on his face as he starts to leave the room. "I'll go make us some tea."
Tai then passes by Qrow on the way out, but not before him a glare for making him leave his daughter. Qrow simply ignores him as he approaches Ruby's bed while also grabbing a chair and drags it along with him. He then twirls it around to face her bed and sits down on it with a significant slouch. Qrow then crosses his legs and gets comfortable before speaking to his niece.
"So, how are you feeling?"
"Um... I kind of hurt... all over." Ruby then answered him honestly.
Qrow just chuckles at her frank answer. "That makes sense, after what you did." Qrow then crossed his arms and appeared to be in deep thought. Ruby however, did not find it funny while getting more annoyed and confused.
"You guys keep saying that! That I did something! What are you talking about?!" Ruby raises her voice out in frustration. What did she really do that both her father and uncle said the same thing?
Qrow just merely uncrosses his arms and legs, all while leaving forward in the chair. Ruby however felt really uncomfortable at how Qrow was giving her a serious look. Did she do something wrong? Qrow however, did not give her an answer; but instead, he asked her a question instead.
"What's the last thing you remember?"
Ruby was confused at his question at first, but as she then focused on her memories for a bit. "I ran up the side of the tower, and when I got to the top, I…" Ruby then gasps as a certain painful memory pops up in her head. Jade, crying out in pain as Cinder's blade entered his chest. "Jade! Is he…" Ruby asked fearfully as she urgently asked and hoped that Jade was alright.
"He's fine, but… He's in an unconscious state from his injuries. It is amazing that he lived from his injuries that were fatal. He will make it through." Qrow assured her before continuing on. "Last time I checked; his girlfriend had been at his side ever since she heard what had happened."
"Then… what about Pyrrha?" Ruby then asked about her friend's state.
"She's fine. She is currently in the hospital right now, but she will be alright. However… She blamed herself for your teammates' state… Blonde boy and his team were looking over her and making sure things were alright and that it wasn't her fault."
Ruby then let out a sigh of relief. At least she now knows that two of her friends were still alive despite their injuries. Ruby could not imagine what she would do if either Jade or Pyrrha have actually died that night. "I was at the top; I saw Jade, Pyrrha and Cinder… And then everything went white."
"Anything else?" Qrow then asked.
"I remember... my head hurting." Ruby eventually said to him as she wiped her tears away.
"The night you met Ozpin, what was the first thing he said to you?" Qrow then asked her.
"I... I don't know. I think it was something about…" Ruby then starts to speak, but with hesitation.
"Silver eyes." Qrow finished her sentence for her. "That's an extremely rare trait."
"So?" Ruby answers while shrugging her shoulders. She couldn't understand why her eyes were special. Sure they are rare eye colour in Remnant, but that didn't mean much right?
Qrow then gave his explanation why that's the case. "You're special, Ruby. And not in the "Daddy loves his special angel" kind of way. You're special the same way your mom was. Remnant's full of legends and stories, some of them true, some made up." How does that relate to her mom? Ruby could only wonder as she continued to listen to her uncle.
"But there's one Oz told me from a very long time ago. Back before Huntsmen, before Kingdoms, it was said that those born with silver eyes were destined to lead the life of a warrior. You see, the creatures of Grimm, the most fearsome monsters mankind had ever encountered, were afraid of those silver-eyed warriors. They were the best of the best. It was said that even a single look from one of these fighters could strike a Grimm down." Qrow then chuckled. "Heh. It's a ridiculous story."
Ruby could only think that she was one of these silver-eyed warriors from the legends. "But... you think that I might be…" Ruby then asked with uncertainty.
Qrow continued to chuckle. "Well, a giant monster is currently frozen on top of Beacon Tower. And you're here, safe in bed."
Qrow then gets to his feet and walks over to a window, leaning on the sill and staring outside.
Ruby then realised something that she nearly missed. "Wait, wait, how did you know what Ozpin said to me... the night we met?"
"All those missions I go on... all the times I'm away in some far-off place... it's been for Ozpin. But he's missing now. Something's been set in motion. With Oz gone, I'll have to pick up where he left off." Qrow explained to her, but his tone says that he was thinking of something else.
"Then what can I do? If I'm so special, then I can help, right?" Ruby asked him with determination though she still had doubts lingering in the back of her mind.
Qrow could only look at her before sighing. "You really wanna help? Get some rest. You're in no condition to go anywhere right now." Her uncle then began to head out of her room. "Besides, our enemy's trail leads all the way to Haven. That'd be quite a trip for a pipsqueak like you."
Ruby mentally took note that their enemy came from Haven. The same place that Cinder and her gang came from, and that she could probably get a team together to Haven. She could get team JNPR to come with her, though come to think about it. She could also get Blake and Jade to come along as well. Hopefully… But, she needs to check on them first. After all, she wasn't sure if they were okay after the fall.
"Catch ya later, kiddo." Qrow winks at her as he heads out the door.
Ruby was now sitting alone and thinking to herself as she gazed at the winds outside. She was glad that both Pyrrha and Jade are fine but… From what her uncle had said about them. Pyrrha was guilty for Jade's close case with death. Would that affect her? Hopefully not. And Jade… from what she had remembered, Jade lost his eye and hand. The memory stings in her head as she swears she could hear Jade's blood curdling scream before Cinder dropped him aside.
No, She will prevent it from happening again. But first… She should probably check on Yang and see how she is doing.
Author's notes.
And here is Ruby's perspective after the fall of Beacon. To be honest… I did not change a whole lot of the dialogues from the canon version. But I made changes to it and how it would affect the future.
Such examples are that, both Jade and Pyrrha are (mostly) fine but… Pyrrha is felt responsible for Jade's situation or how Jade is unconscious from his injuries. Or how Blake did not run at all. Though things like Yang being traumatized still remained. In Spite of a Nail people, In Spite of a Nail.
There will be one more interlude (Or more, depends how I feel about it) before we resume the story, Who should I do it for? Got an idea who to look at after the fall? Leave a Review and I will think about it. I was thinking of doing a Pyrrha or Blake.
Other than that, I would like to thank you all for reading and I will see ya in the next interlude. Soonish as well.
RGQC out!
