"A Destiny Rebooted"
CHAPTER ONE
A couple of hours later, Chip, Dale, Gadget Hackwrench and her husband Zipper stood on a miniature podium as Ellie approached the normal human-sized one. "Good morning," Ellie began. "My name is Ellie Steckler, and I am a detective with the Los Angeles Police Department's Central Division. I am the chief detective investigating the Valley Gang, the individuals suspected of the kidnappings of at least thirty Toons over the past year and the subsequent bootleggings of them."
"I am joined by Chip, Dale, Gadget Hackwrench and Zipper from the classic television series Chip 'n Dale: Rescue Rangers, who assisted the LAPD and the FBI in the investigation and apprehension of the Valley Gang, as well as the recovery of the missing Toons," Ellie continued. "The fifth member of the cast, Monterey Jack, is currently undergoing medical treatment due to his having been bootlegged and is thus unable to be here today."
One reporter raised her hand. "April O'Neil, KABC Channel 7 News," she said in introducing herself. "What is the current medical status of the recovered Toons?"
"A medical team operating under a request of anonymity has volunteered its services without cost in the recovery and reconstruction of the bootlegged Toons," Ellie said. "Due to LAPD departmental policy, I cannot reveal personal or medical information of the affected individuals without their consent."
Another reporter raised his hand. "Tiberius Chase, 3-D In-Your-Face News. This question is for Chip or Dale. Reports are that this was the first time in nearly thirty years that you two have been on good terms following the cancellation of Rescue Rangers," the new reporter said. "Why did it take so long to patch things up?"
"That's a personal question, but I'll answer it," Chip said. "Ever since Dale and I first met in elementary school nearly forty years ago, we've both been stubborn. Even back then, whenever we got into an argument, we knew it was time to take a step back when we started using the voices we had on Rescue Rangers."
"But I felt like Dale betrayed me when he was invited to do Double-0 Dale. It's sad, really, but it took Monty being kidnapped and bootlegged—and Dale being willing to take Sweet Pete's kill-shot to protect me—to bring us together again. But as the old song once remarked, 'Reunited, and it feels so good,'" Chip continued before hugging Dale to the delight of the crowd.
After the press conference ended, Chip, Dale, Gadget and Zipper were met by Rok-Tahk. "Mssrs. Chipmunk, Mr. and Mrs. Haysbert, my name is Rok-Tahk, and I grew up watching your guys' show," Rok-Tahk said.
Gadget smiled. "Why thank you, Rok-Tahk," she said. "Our 42 kids-" Gadget gestured to herself and Zipper. "-enjoy your show too," Gadget finished. "Thank you, ma'am," Rok-Tahk said.
"Cut the 'ma'am' stuff, Rok-Tahk. It makes me feel older than I truly am," Gadget said. Zipper nodded. "When can we expect the rest of Season 1?" Zipper asked.
"We're going to begin filming Season 1B in a couple of weeks," Rok-Tahk said. "It just took a while trying to get Mr. Chakotay to come back."
"That's good news indeed," Chip said. "Ellie, do you have Peppa Pig's message?"
Ellie walked up to where Chip, Dale, Gadget, Zipper and Rok-Tahk were standing. "Yeah, I do," Ellie said before handing Rok-Tahk a slip of paper. Rok-Tahk opened it and began to read.
Rok-Tahk-
The members of the medical team helping the bootlegged Toons are saying that I can get back to work in a few days. However, I just wanted to let you and everyone at Nickelodeon know that I'm going to go on holiday for a couple of weeks to reflect on what happened.
I'll, hopefully, see you back at Nickelodeon in September. You still owe me a tour of the Protostar sets.

P.S.: You can let Chase and the rest of the PAW Patrol cast know that the medical teams were able to restore Sgt. Henderson's ability to have children. I'm sure they still feel bad about what happened because of that jerk Captain Putty and the rest of those wankers in the Valley Gang.
"Jeez," Rok-Tahk said. "I'm surprised Peppa would say that. She seems to be a prim and proper British lady." "Traumatic experiences can—and most often, do—make people do and say strange things," Chip said.
"You said it," Rok-Tahk said. "Listen, guys. I gotta go. Dal and Gwyn should be here at any moment to pick me up so we can head to the airport for our flight to Madrid."
"Oh, yeah! I heard your show's getting a video game! Congratulations!" Dale said. "Thanks, Dale," Rok-Tahk said. "See you all when I get back!"
As Rok-Tahk walked off, Chip then turned to his fellow co-stars. "Let's get to Dave Bollinari's office," Dale said. "He said he's got the first-draft of the Rescue Rangers reboot script." The four reunited former co-stars got in a waiting car.
