30 Worlds: Royal Megaforce Gaiden, Episode III:

"A Destiny Rebooted"

CHAPTER TWO

After three months of negotiations and a shocking hell-frozen-over moment nearly a century in the making, a deal was made to combine the Rescue Rangers reboot script that Chip, Dale, Gadget and Zipper read that day with a thematically-similar project being developed at Disney's rival studio Universal.

And so, on February 9th, 2023, Disney and Universal announced the project that was referred to internally at both studios as Rescue Rangers x The Fast Saga. In the press release, the director of the planned film, Justin Lin, said,

"Nearly a century ago, a distributor working for Universal stole the contract of Oswald the Lucky Rabbit and the contracts on many of the production staff of Oswald's films from Walt Disney and Ub Iwerks. 78 years later, Disney brought Oswald home in, perhaps, one of the strangest trades in the history of the entertainment industry. Now, 95 years removed from the incident that altered the history of our industry, I am happy to announce that The Walt Disney Company and Universal City Studios, LLC. are burying the hatchet once and for all, combining their talents to produce a film that is at once both a reboot to one of the most-beloved television shows of the late-1980s/early-1990s and a continuation of one of the most successful motion picture franchises of the last twenty-five years.

I am extremely honored to work with my long-time friends and colleagues at the Fast Saga again—as well as the Chip 'n Dale: Rescue Rangers cast, who I have been fans of ever since the series began back in 1989. We will work hard to produce a motion picture that fans of both franchises can enjoy."

Vin Diesel, the long-time star and co-producer of the Fast Saga, added: "We hope to do my late friend and brother, Paul Walker, proud with this project. He mentioned to me once on the set of Fast Five that he was a huge fan of the Rescue Rangers series. It's just sad that he did not live to have the opportunity to work with Chip, Dale, Gadget, Zipper and Monterey Jack."

In the same press release, Chip spoke on behalf of the Rescue Rangers team by saying, "We are thrilled to be working with Vin Diesel and the Fast Saga team on this project. Hopefully, this will be an enormous success and the beginning of a new era for us all."

That afternoon, in the backyard of Chip's home, a party was held to celebrate Monty's release from the hospital as well as to celebrate the start of development on the Rescue Rangers x The Fast Saga project. Pizza (both with and without cheese) was a-plenty, as were drinks and other snacks.

Ellie smiled as she walked into the backyard and saw Chip, Dale, Gadget, Zipper and Monty. "Hey, guys!" Ellie said.

"Hey, Ellie!" Chip said. "How are you doing?"

"Great," Ellie said. "By the way, I wanted to let you know that I turned my resignation papers in to Chief Moore."

"Why did you quit the L.A.P.D.?" Dale asked.

"I had been thinking about it ever since Captain Putty betrayed me," Ellie said. "Ultimately, I decided to start working for my P.I. credentials."

"Well then, the best of luck to ya," Monty said as he nibbled on a piece of cheese-free pepperoni pizza. "We need more like you helping us Toons out there!"

"Here here!" Zipper said.

Ellie smiled at everyone.

A small fly-mouse hybrid flew up to where Gadget and Zipper were sitting. "Mom, Dad, is this the lady who helped Uncle Chip and Uncle Dale rescue Uncle Monterey from those bad bootleggers?" the child asked.

"Yes, Marina," Gadget said. "Ellie, this is Marina Hackwrench, our oldest child."

Ellie looked down at Marina. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Marina," Ellie said. "Your parents told me such wonderful things about you and your siblings."

"Thank you, Aunt Ellie," Marina said. "Thank you for helping save Uncle Monterey."

"It's my pleasure, although Chip and Dale did most of the work," Ellie said.

Marina smiled, then flew away to rejoin her siblings.

Ellie looked at Gadget and Zipper. "You raised such wonderful children," Ellie said.

"It was hard work, but in the end, it was so worth it," Gadget said.

"You said it, Gadget my love," Zipper said.

A few hours later, as the party began to wind down, Ellie set down her drink cup. "I gotta go and start studying for my exam," Ellie said.

"Good luck, Ellie," Chip said. "And if you need any help, let us know."

"Thanks, Chip," Ellie said before she left.
