I'm back. It's a short one but I hope you guys enjoy it ^_^

Dr. Kiki's POV:

For the first time in the 3 months that I have cared for Layne, she cried. She was a mousy little thing. Reluctant to show emotion at the risk of being a burden to those around her. For the first time, she finally understood herself.

It always took me some time to be able to recognize a fellow witch. We were a rarity.

These reactions were common. They could understand that they were different but couldn't understand what made them different.

Like Layne, some cried as the events that shaped their lives suddenly clicked with what they learned. Others insulted me, accused me of wasting their time and money. Half the time I never saw those people again but I hoped my services had given them some clarity. We always kept tabs on them should they ever need us.

I rose from my chair and joined her on the sofa, gathering her into my arms as she cried for the next 15 minutes. Her session was over, but I couldn't let her leave in her current state. She was my last client today, I had plenty of time to spare for her.

"But I don't understand. What am I supposed to do," she cried.

I gently cupped her face in my hands as I made her look at me. Her dark brown cheeks were as soft as pillows in my hands. Barely 14 years old, still just a child. I was glad to be able to reach her before tragedy befell her.

"There is nothing that you need to do. If this is a journey you wish to take, there are people that are willing to help you down that path. Me included. I expect nothing from you. I simply wanted to provide you a moment to understand what is truly going on in your life. But if you want to continue trying to lead a normal life, devoid of the supernatural, we will be here for that too. Should you ever need my help, you need only ask."

"Please call once you arrive home safely. I know what we just discussed is overwhelming."

I watched her walk down the steps and out to her car. I converted the guest house on the family property into an office for my therapy session so I could work from home. It was safer this way.

"Mom, she's finally reached out to us," my daughter approached me with a worn.

I was so thankful to my daughter in this moment. An exceptional clairvoyant in her own right. Her skill was unparalleled and the fact that she chose to harness her powers to watch over others like us still brought a smile to my face.

"Isabella Swan?"

She nodded.

I let out a breath and thanked the goddess for protecting her.

A descendant of a particularly strong bloodline. If not for the threat the vampires posed to us I would've approached her sooner. We'd almost lost her over a year ago.

"She's protected momentarily on the reservation of La Push but the Volturi guard are in the area. Should I call on Yuri to cast a protection spell until she is able to meet with us," she asked.

"That would be best. As a matter of fact, I want Yuri to cast a spell of heavy protection until I feel she is able to handle the truth. The Volturi are watching her closely and they are interested in her. They cannot find out what she is."
