Chapter Nine: Here We Go!

Well, I think I got it figured out. After one hell of a time telling both my teams that I'll be doing some training alone, I finally got to where I would be waking up early right before sunrise to head into the woods on the outskirts of Magnolia and not coming back till almost midnight. It also gave me an excuse to not have to deal with switching bodies with someone. I have a plan during the Phantom raid. Or a plan to save Lucy the pain of getting beat up by Gajeel. Though I'm not sure how he will react when he finds out that not only I'm in Fairy Tail, but I had also Shape Shifted into Lucy.

And yes, I know that it didn't work when Mira Shifted into Lucy, but while Phantom Lord is an evil raging psychopathic guild... they don't necessarily have the word 'STUPID' across their foreheads. Mira didn't act like Lucy; no, she made her look brave and determined, which at that time Lucy was the complete opposite. She was scared, pained, and full-fledged guilty about why Phantom Lord was attacking. I have watched more than enough to know exactly how she acts during this time.

It has been three days since Gajeel said that he was gonna start that mission, and It took me that long to make sure I got everything down to the T. Not only her looks and her voice but one other very important key factor to make sure I don't get caught. I was able to copy Lucy's scent. Cause the plan is that I will go with Lucy and Reedus to the hideout and before Gajeel and his buddies get to us I will knock Lucy out (while explaining to Reedus my plan), Shift into Lucy, and use a timed invisible shield to hide Lucy in the corner... then let the scene play out just like it did in the original timeliness. It cannot go wrong. It can't go wrong at all.

It's now past 11 pm and I'm about to head back to the apartment. Though one thing is still bothering me, is Gajeel going to attack the Guild tonight or tomorrow night? All I know is that Gajeel ain't responded to my texts today and that both my teams are out on jobs, to which both wanted me to join them but I lied and said that I wanted to wait a few days.

I chuckled to myself. Oh, I'm pretty sure after this battle that I'm probably gonna be out of commission for a few weeks if I'm lucky. I would be lying if I said that I wasn't afraid. Trust me, I am. But all I can do is put on a brave face and do whatever I can to help my guild. I sighed to myself as I walked into the town. I had on a thin black cloak over my green tank top and jean shorts. It felt nice out tonight. The full moon shining down above me to where I can still see pretty good in front of me. It was so quiet with all the town folk at home in bed. And as I sniffed the air, I could still smell some of the food from nearby restaurants, the potted flowers, iron, the woods, the ocean, and the... wait.

I stopped and sniffed again before my blood ran cold. Iron. And that's when I heard it. Click. Clack. Footsteps. I quickly threw up the hood on my cloak, and the moment I did, the footsteps stopped, somewhere behind me. I held my breath as I heard him sniff the air. I'm hoping that he doesn't recognize my scent, but luck didn't want to be on my side tonight when I barely heard him mutter a single word. A name.

"Kyra?"

And suddenly I'm running as fast as my legs can go. No, Nonono, he can't find out now. I need to lose him and hide. I can hear him hot on my trail as I start zooming around corners, hoping he loses sight of me enough so I can shift into something. Anything. As I rounded another corner, I saw a black cat perched up on some railing, smiling at the chance I quickly shifted into a replica of the cat and darted into one of the shadows of the building. Not 2 seconds later, Gajeel rounds the corner and slows to a stop near where I am. I hold my breath, praying he doesn't notice me. He's gasping while whipping his head in all directions. I'm crouched down, waiting for the perfect moment to dash away. "Where ya go? It just had to have been you?" I heard him mutter to himself. Come on, just a bit further. I thought to myself. Finally, after about a minute, he sighs and turns around, and walks away in the direction of Fairy Tail. When he turns the corner, I sigh in relief, yet I'm still sad about what is about to become of our guild. There's nothing I can do. This needs to play out. So, making sure he wasn't coming back, I started making my way back to the apartment, staying in cat form just in case. When the apartment was in sight, I shifted back to normal so I could open the door. That's when I heard it. I froze when I heard the distant crashing. He's at Fairy Tail. I sighed in disappointment but was also thankful that no one is there in the guild, but that didn't stop the tear that slip down my cheek.

"Here we go," I muttered as I went inside. Stepping into the room, I plopped face-first onto the couch. I was so sore and exhausted, and this was only the beginning. What is it? Two days that we deal with Phantom Lord. Gajeel "remodels" the guild late at night, which is discovered the next morning. The day is spent discussing Phantom Lord and being depressed while at night Gajeel attacks Levy and her team... which are discovered the following morning. Master and the guild get ultra pissed and go to attack Phantom Lord's guild, all the while Lucy gets left behind and taken by Juvia and that crazy weird French-like guy. After retreating when master gets hurt Phantom ends up appearing later on in the same day with the entire guild castle. And after a long intense battle, Fairy Tail comes out victorious.

As I was thinking of all the events that were about to unfold I heard my watch ding with a text message. I groaned thinking it was Gajeel asking if it was me he saw, however, I smiled when I saw it was Laxus.

'Ya still up?'

'Yeah. Just got back to the apartment.'

Suddenly it starts buzzing with an incoming call. Chuckling, I answered. "Hey, bubba what's up?" "Couldn't sleep and I figured that you might be still up from doing training." He said and by how his voice sounded I can only assume that he was laying down. "Yeah, I think I got the Shape-Shifting down pretty good. Now I just need to work a hell of a lot more on my Fire." "And your Lightning. You're improving, but you still need a lot more training. Which we should be heading back in three days. We can pick back up on it then." He said and I almost laughed out loud. Yeahhhh it'll probably be a lot longer before I would be doing any training. It'll be more physical therapy than anything else. Suddenly a thought hit me and that thought made me a bit nervous. In the original timeline, Mira had called Laxus as a last resort for help and Laxus basically laughed in their face. But it could be very different now with me being here and how protective he is with me. Oh shit. That means that the moment he finds out about us being attacked, I'm pretty sure he gonna try and get here as soon as he possibly can. And with my plan and all he will most likely go after Gajeel, worse than he did originally. All I can do is pray that they are far enough away that by the time he gets here that the battle would be over. If I remember correctly they went on a bandit hunting job on the other side of where Blue Pegasus was. I mean It should be far enough away.

We talked a little more till I fell asleep.

I woke up to my watch buzzing. Groaning I opened my eyes and looked at the time. 12:47 PM. Yeah, I didn't plan on waking up early for any training cuz I already know that I'm gonna need all the sleep I could get. Sighing as I realized that Mirajane is calling me I answered. "Hey, Mira." I greeted tiredly. "Kyra." It was always so odd hearing Mira so tired and depressed. "The guild was attacked last night but thankfully no one was inside." She went straight to the point. I sighed in relief. "Thank the lord. Has Natsu and the others showed up yet?" I asked cause I had no clue when they came back into town. "No, not yet. Everyone is mainly here in the basement." I can hear her voice waver slightly. "Are you with the others?" I asked. "No. I had to walk outside to-to get some fresh air." I got up from the couch and went to get a new set of clothes for today. "Alright. Well, I'm gonna get ready and more than likely go get an ultra-large cup of coffee, then I'll head over there." I told her. "Okay, I'll see you when you get here." Suddenly I hear her mutter 'oh no'. I froze. Why is she saying oh no for? What's going on? "What is it?" "Natsu's back and he looks beyond pissed." I didn't even realize I was holding my breath. "Yeah have fun with that." I shook my head. Natsu is not gonna make it easy for them. "Hey just let me know if anyone goes out looking for me. I'll be there when I can." I told her before we hung up. I groaned in exhaustion. It barely even started and I already have a headache. Looking through my clothes I decided to just wear something comfortable since the battle won't start till tomorrow. So I decided on a simple grey shirt and Jean shorts. After throwing my hair up in a ponytail I grabbed a banana and headed out.

I made my way into the town towards the amazing coffee shop that I discovered a while ago. It reminded me of the coffee shop back home, so chill and peaceful. As I was going through town it didn't go past that the townspeople were whispering and some glancing my way in concern. I knew why. It was because of the guild being attacked. As I finally got to the shop and walked in Mrs. Maria and her teenage daughter Keata looked up in shock at seeing me. "Oh, Kyra. Have you not heard yet." Mrs. Maria puts down the cloth she was holding and walked over to me. I nodded. "Yeah, I know. Mirajane informed me this morning. I'm planning on going to the guild after I get a much-needed ultra-large cup of liquid gold." I told her then sighed. "I'm gonna need it." "Oh, I don't blame you." I looked up at Keata as she went over to the cups and grabbed a 32oz cup. "What flavor do you want? It'll be on us." She said and I didn't argue. "I'll take the Smokey Mountain." I always try whatever the coffee of the week is but most of the time I will get the 'Smokey Mountain' cause it is my favorite. The three flavors that are in it are Amarillo, Hazelnut, and Irish Cream. It is by far the best in my opinion.

"Here you go, Kay." Keata hands me the drink and straw. I swear I couldn't get that wrapper off fast enough before I stabbed it through and took a much-needed sip. Oh and 'Kay' is a nickname that Keata started to use for me as I would come in almost every day. I smiled. "Thanks, Key, see yall later." Which is my nickname for her. Both of them smiled and waved at me as I left. It took about 10 minutes till I got to the guild, and I just stopped and stared up at all the giant iron rods that are going threw the building. It felt so surreal, like the first time that I saw it on TV I was upset, but nowhere compared to how upset I'm feeling now. If it wasn't for the fact that I know we will come out winning and Gajeel becomes a part of Fairy Tail, I honestly would probably hate his very existence.

I shook my head. No, I must look on the bright side. Everything will turn out alright for us. Fairy Tail always wins in the end, no matter what. And with that, I headed inside and follow the sounds of Natsu yelling. The moment I walked down the stairs and into the basement Natsu finally stops yelling and looks at me. "Ky did y-" I raised my hand and duck tape his mouth shut cause I had a feeling he was about to ask about me knowing. "First of all yes I knew this was gonna happen, just not when. And before anyone asks, no I could not give anyone any hints cause that would mean that someone would have had to be at the guild at the time this happened and risk either getting seriously injured or killed." I started explaining. I erased the duck tape but telepathically told Natsu to not say anything till I was done explaining. "When I first became a part of Fairy Tail I told you all two things. One, I can NOT reveal the future in any way, shape, or form because the outcome can AND WILL be disastrous. Two, NO matter what gets thrown our way Fairy Tail will always pull through." I noticed that a lot of the wizards were starting to get their spirits up. Good. "Now. Gramps." I pointed to the very drunk old man and gave him a look. "That is gonna be your last cup of beer for today so you better make it last. Mira makes sure he doesn't get anymore." I told them. Mira nodded while master just pouted. And before anyone could say anything I walked back upstairs. I didn't feel like getting any more judged looks.

As I walked outside I took another sip of my coffee which is now half empty. Closing my eyes briefly and taking a deep breath I turned back to the guild. My mind went into hyperdrive trying to figure out just how in the hell to get these rods out without the entire place falling to the ground, or at least keep it standing till tomorrow. I was so into my thoughts that I didn't notice someone walking out until they were right next to me. "You alright?" My head snapped to the side to see Natsu looking at me in concern. I took another sip before looking back at the guild. "Yeah. Just- trying to figure out how to get the rods out without bringing the whole guild down. All I know is that we need to start from the top and make our way down." I explained. I just need to create something that will allow me to slowly remove the rods. Then it hit me. I can create a replica of the Polarity Gauntlet, also from Transformers Prime, to use as a giant magnet. Lord, I'm so glad I have this magic ability as well as knowing about certain gadgets from different shows.

"Sooo, what's the smile about?" Natsu asks. I turn to him before handing him my cup. "Can you hold this for a bit? I might have a way to get these rods out." "Yeah, sure." He took the cup and looks at it curiously. I smirked. "It's coffee from the coffee shop here. You can try it if ya want." I hopped on my hoverboard and started to the top of the guild. Recreating the Polarity Gauntlet was easy. Now I just need to get the rods out one at a time. Get one out, patch the holes then move on to the next rod. It'll be tedious work but it'll have to do for now. I point to the rod and activate the Gauntlet for it to immediately connect. I slowly pulled back to make the least amount of damage. As soon as I got the rod out the only thing I can think to do was toss the rods as far into the ocean as possible. Turning the device off I flew to the hole and thought of all the items that I will need to create to start patching the walls.

"How can we help?" I turned my head to see Erza in an armor that I haven't seen before that let's her fly. Glancing down I can see that almost everyone has come outside and looked ready to help. Looking back at Erza I smirked. "Need to get the rods out starting from the top and make our way down. After each rod, the holes need to be patched before we go to the next rod. That way the guild would be less likely to collapse." Erza nodded in understanding before turning to the others. "Alright, I need all fliers or those that can use their magic to get to high places. We are going to start patching the top and make our way down." She announced with authority. Then I piped in. "I will be creating all the supplies we need such as boards and screws as well as removing the rods." I stated as I created a good-sized floating platform before making about 10 pieces of plywood on it. And it was at that moment that everyone got to work. "Happy, come here please." I motioned for the exceed. "Yeah." I made a large cup and filled it with a bunch of screws. "Hold these for those that are screwing the boards up also hand this to Erza." I created a drill so it will go faster. "Aye." He flew over to them. I went back over to Natsu and took a sip of my coffee. "You like it?" I asked him and he nodded. I took one last sip before handing him the last bit. "Here, you can have the rest." I grinned at his shocked face. It didn't take long for him to finish it off and we were back to getting the rods out. With all of us working together it only took an hour and a half to get all the rods out and holes patched.

Though it really don't surprise me that afterwards almost half of the guild went home for the day. The rest of us stuck around the guild to either hang out or help clean. I ended up helping gramps get any important paperwork and documents from his office into an accordion file that I created, because even though they don't know it yet but this place is gonna get completely torn down tomorrow. So we are gonna need all the paperwork out of here.

It was close to 6 in the evening when we got everything that was important together and organized, to which we put into a large indestructible cabinet that is completely water and fireproof and isn't gonna get destroyed if say a giant shadow monster pounds on it. "Kay, imma head home now gramps. You should too, get some rest and don't drink anymore for the night." I said as I glanced out the window at the sunset over the ocean. "Alright alright. You be careful out there Kyra. Goodnight child." I smiled. "Goodnight." I left the guild and started back to the apartment.

The sun was setting fast and before I knew it it was dark. I had a feeling that I might get a call from Team Natsu about going to Lucy's for the night, to which I have considered it but after today I just got a big headache and just wanna be alone to gather myself. It wasn't till I walked in my apartment that I got a call and looking at the caller ID I was kinda shocked that it was Gray. "Hey. What's up?" I answered as I got changed into some pajamas. "We are gonna be grouped up at Lucy's place since Phantom Lord is more than likely still lurking in town. You might want to come over here just to be safe." I smirked at his concern. Going into the kitchen I grabbed a small pot and started filling it with water. "Yeah I had a feeling one of yall were gonna call me. But I think I will stay here. I still got some stuff that need to get done like laundry and cleaning the apartment." Gray started to say something before Natsu suddenly spoke up. "Are you sure Ky? It'll be safer if you were with someone? These Phantom creeps could be anywhere." I grinned while I opened a pack of Ramen and placed it in the pan to let cook. "Thank you for the concern but trust me when I say that non of them will be coming after me nor going there to ya. But I will tell you all one thing and that's to make sure yall get some sleep." I chuckled when I heard Natsu pouting before Erza popped up in the background. "Are you absolutely sure Kyra?" "Yeah. I'm good over here. You all have a good night, see you in the morning." After they said goodnight I disconnected the call and 2 seconds later I get a message. Looking at it I see its from Natsu.

'If anything does happen just let me know and I'll be there in a heartbeat.' I smirked.

'Alright I will. Thank you.'

And with that I started getting all my dirty clothes together so I can start a load of laundry, to which I am so glad that we got a laundry room in the apartment. Taking the laundry bag to the washer I unloaded the bag and started the machine before going back to the kitchen to see the progress of my dinner. It was halfway done so I decide to start washing the dishes and setting them up the drip dry. When I finished that the noodles were done so I took it off the stove and drained some of the water out before setting it off to the side to cool down. I dried and put away the dishes before fixing the rest of my dinner and sitting down to eat.

After finishing my dinner I went into Laxus's room and over to his window. Looking around I didn't see anyone so I opened the window. Slowly sticking my head out I took a big whiff to see if I can smell Gajeel, which I didn't. I had no idea when he got to team Shadow Gear in the show only that it was at night. So seeing as the coast was clear I climbed onto the window sill and got my hoverboard. And just in case, I had my hood around me. Once I was on my hoverboard I flew up to the roof of the building. It was a clear night with the moon shining brightly. I tried sniffing the air again and this time I barely sensed him. So he is still around. I closed my eyes and tried focusing on my hearing cause I have no clue if he already got Levy or not. I debated on checking the park but decided against it right now. Though I do wonder where he actually is. His scent is faint right now and as I kept listening I could have sworn I started hearing a soft banging noise, no screaming. He might have already gotten them before I came out. I slowly and cautiously made my way to the park all the while mentally forcing myself to think of this as like a VR experience so I don't do anything more to the timeline. The banging got clearer as I came up to the park but I stayed hidden behind a building and just peeked around to see Gajeel putting the knocked out trio up on the tree. And lord have mercy its a hell of a lot harder to keep in control now then watching it on a screen. I couldn't stop the tears from falling as I watched this unfold. God I can't wait for all this to be over with and for him to be apart of Fairy Tail.

Finally after a couple minutes he took a step back and let out a not-so-good chuckle. "This will definitely get those Fairy scum panties in a twist." I shook my head and turned to go back only for my blood to run cold as my foot knocked over a bucket that I didn't realize was right beside me. FUCK! "Who's there? Show yourself. " I jumped when I heard Gajeel as he started towards where I was and when I say that booked it out of there like Satan himself was after me, I have no doubt that on TV that there would be a dotted outline of my body where I had stood with a trail of smoke in the direction I took off. My heart was beating so hard that it was the only thing that I could hear as I weaved between buildings on my hoverboard until I got to the apartment and all but dove threw the open window, spun around and slammed it shut and closed the blinds. I can feel myself shaking as I have no doubt that he tried following but he probably couldn't keep up with how fast I was flying.

After a few minutes I went and finished my laundry before finally heading to bed. As I laid there all I can think about is how the hell I'm gonna come out of this with the least amount of injuries as possible.

Well I know it been a loooong time since the last update. I just lost my job due to medical problems and been going between doctor visits. But on the plus side, since I'm not suffering from being a walmart cashier anymore, my writers block seemed to have lifted a bit for this story. So that's good. Also it shouldn't be too long before I finish the next chapter, i'm already halfway through with it when I realized that I never got the chance to upload this chapter.

But until then... Shadowstalker Out!
