Chapter Thirty-One: A surprise in the making part 2
Haru and Ronin cheered as they got in the car with Inuyasha. They were on their way to his mansion. They were waiting at a red light. Inuyasha had music playing and was singing along with the boys. They were all having fun really. It had just started to rain when they left the mall parking lot. Sesshoumaru texted him to be careful on the way home but Inuyasha already planned on it for multiple reasons two of em being behind him in booster seats.
They were just waiting for the light to change colors when Inuyasha took notice of the car behind him when another car went past them going the opposite way. He stopped singing which got the boys' attention immediately.
"Asha? What's wrong?" said Haru
Inuyasha said, "You two are buckled in tight right?"
"Yeah." Said Ronin
"Why?" said Haru grabbing his brother's hand, "What's wrong?"
Inuyasha said, "Hopefully nothing but I might have to get us out of here real fast alright. So I need you two to listen to me and follow all my commands alright?"
"Kay." Said the two in unison
Inuyasha was watching the car behind him and went about his way like it was nothing but noticed the car was following them. Inuyasha swore and said, "Alright you two hang on ok. I gotta loose these idiots fore I can get us home alright."
Both whimpered but did as they were told. Inuyasha dropped the car into second as he went flying down the street. He swung around a corner as he reached third gear and dropped it. He kept it up as he tried to outrun the car behind him. He knew he was screwed cause they were not going to get away fast enough. Inuyasha swore as he drifted around a corner.
He tossed his phone into Haru's lap and said, "Dial 119 for me now. And put it on speaker."
(A/N: The Japanese equivalent to America's 911 is 119 just so you know.)
Haru did as he was told it rang and the operator said, 119 what's your emergency?
"I'm Inuyasha Takahashi, I am currently driving a black Aston martin with red claw marks on it. I'm being chased by a black firebird with purple flames." Said Inuyasha calmly while trying to outrun the car, "I currently have my girlfriends twin boys in my backseat and driving at the speeds we are in the rain isn't going to end well for anyone if we hydroplane. Could use some backup?"
The lady on the other end was shocked but said, Alright I just need your location and I will be able to send some officers your way.
Inuyasha caught the sign and said, "I just passed the Hill crest warehouse. I took us through the industrial district cause it was less traffic to worry about. If it's easier I can lead em to the officers whichever works for you ma'am."
The lady contacted the officers to see who was in the area and then said, Mr. Takahashi I currently have 6 units near your location on another call. If you can get to them, they have already been notified of the situation and will assist.
"Alright just give me directions." Said Inuyasha
So Inuyasha followed the directions from the dispatcher and damn near smiled as he saw the cops. He tried to slow down only for the firebird to actually hit his backside and make the boys start scream and start crying loudly. Inuyasha swore as he tried to correct the car as it slid. He saw it coming just as it happened and didn't have anytime to react other than to reach back with his arm and grab hold of both boys arms to keep them from going flying. The cops could do nothing but stand there as the car hydroplaned then flipped completely over and go rolling until it came to a stop on its wheels against a steel beam for the railway that went over the area. The cops ran for their car as well as opening fire on the one that caused it all.
Inuyasha was messed up badly. His phone was going off as Sesshoumaru was looking for him and he was late. Daisuke was worried cause he knew the boys were with him. Ronin and Haru were sitting in the back hurt but not nearly as bad as Inuyasha. When the cops got to them, they all feared the worst had happened cause it was a bad crash.
Inuyasha freaked out the cop that had managed to get inside the car with them when his eyes opened. "Whoa kid easy alright." Said the officer
Inuyasha felt the blood well in his throat and coughed it up even as he weakly said, "Boys…"
The officer had already checked them as Inuyasha looked way to injured to have survived and said, "Their alive alright. They got banged up but not nearly as much as you did."
Inuyasha ended up spitting up more blood just before everything went dark on him. Back at the house Sesshoumaru was getting worried cause Inuyasha never did this ever. He went to call again when the windows lit up with flashing red and blue lights. The last time that had happened had been when his father had died and he felt his heart clench painfully. Liza put her hand on his arm to calm him down.
As it was just Inuyasha's friends this year instead of a bunch of people they all went to the entranceway. Kouga had wrapped an arm around Kagome's shoulder while Daisuke had Ayame. Sesshoumaru opened the door and the officer was standing there. He seriously thought the worst had happened and they were here to tell him his baby brother was dead.
Liza said, "What can we help you with Officer?"
"I apologize for having to tell you this but Inuyasha was involved in an accident earlier this evening." Said the officer
Kagome felt her heart stop and Kouga had to keep her from falling to the floor. Sesshoumaru didn't feel anything he felt numb even as he ended up on the ground on his knees even as Liza hugged him making his head hit her stomach.
Liza swallowed before saying, "What happened? Is he alright?"
Liza was fighting the lump in her throat even as she asked him. The officer said, "It was pretty bad miss. Inuyasha was medevaced to the hospital."
Sesshoumaru barely heard the officer over his own heart pounding but even though he managed to find his calm he stayed where he was as Kouga said, "So what happened exactly? I get he crashed but he's not one to do that even in the rain without a reason."
"It seems that he was being chased by another car. He was on his way to rendezvous with some officers who were on another scene when the other car rammed him into his rear end. He lost control of the car and cause of the rain he ended up hydroplaning which resulted in him rolling the car." Said the officer, "As I said it was pretty bad. We were honestly shocked he was alive cause he didn't look it in all honesty."
"What happened to the other car?" said Liza
"They tried to flee but the officers on site intervened. We aren't sure at this time what caused the altercation but the detectives are working on it. The other driver was killed while attempting to run." Said the officer
Daisuke knew it was going to cause a very bad reaction but said, "We're the other two alright?"
Liza looked at him and said, "What other two?"
Kagome looked at him and said, "Please tell me he didn't do what I think he did?"
Dai couldn't answer that and Kagome said, "Dai!"
"Inuyasha was going to surprise you. He had Haru and Ronin with him." Said Daisuke, "The extra two presents I brought in with me were for them. Inuyasha helped me pick out a couple of toys for them from you."
Kagome's legs gave then and Kouga ended up on the ground holding her as she started crying. He had her face in his shirt and Ayame said, "Who are they exactly?"
Daisuke felt like shit even as he said, "Haru and Ronin are Kagome's twin 4-year-old sons. Their parents made her and Hojo put em up for adoption. Kagome never signed her rights over so she could get them back. They are on my mom's case load. They asked her to find their mom and Kagome had me ask my mom to look for them. Inuyasha went to pick em up to bring em here to surprise Kagome. He thought it would be a perfect birthday present for her since her's was yesterday."
They were shocked but Kouga also knew what she was feeling right now and couldn't help but be angry at the one who attacked them and at Inuyasha for having them at all. The officer said, "The twins were actually alright. They were taken to the same hospital Inuyasha was but by ambulance. We're not sure what happened when the car rolled cause with how badly it looked, they should've been as injured as Inuyasha was but they weren't. He took the brunt of the injuries it seems."
They all got in the cars and drove followed the officer who escorted them to the hospital. They all came in as one and Liza went to the desk since she was the only one able to talk. Daisuke went with her cause he knew the twin's name.
Liza said, "Excuse me can you tell me how Inuyasha Takahashi is doing?"
"As well as Haru and Ronin Fukimori? There mother is over in chairs with Inuyasha's elder brother." Said Daisuke
The nurse typed in the information and said, "Inuyasha was taken into surgery. The dr will be out to speak with you as soon as he is able to. The boys are actually in the er right now being seen too by a doctor. I'll let them know she's here."
"Thank you." Said Liza
They walked back over and Liza sat with Sesshoumaru and said, "Inuyasha is in surgery right now. The doctor in charge will be out to talk to us as soon as their able to." She looked at Kagome, "The boys are being seen too in the er right now. But she is going to tell them you're here so their doctor will be out shortly to speak with you."
