Chapter 1- 26 Years

Ok, screw me. I hated how my "Percy Jackson becomes a God" story was turning out. So I'm attempting this now. Wish me luck. Yay.

Ugh. I don't want to get out of bed. It's a bunk in the Poseidon cabin, so it's not all too comfortable. I just feel super tired for some reason, even though I just had a chill day on the lake with Annabeth. I do need to pee though.

I roll out of bed onto the floor with a loud smack, and I get up groaning. I should have just walked out of bed like a normal person. That would have been smart. Although I'm not all that smart am I? In the bathroom, I start counting seconds, because this is the longest stream of piss I've ever had. Over a minute! Wow! That has to be like a world record or something. Annabeth would be proud. Probably not though. She doesn't have respect for awesome accomplishments like this.

My grogginess fades away, and I notice something odd. There are cobwebs and dust everywhere. And checking around my room, all my stuff is gone too! Connor and Travis are probably pulling some dumb prank. It's not even funny either. I expect better from them. Since I have nothing in my cabin, I need to go find either Connor and Travis or Chiron to get them to give my stuff back and clean my room.

I open the door to my cabin, clad only in underwear and shorts since that's all I was wearing when I went to bed. Super embarrassing. The breakfast horn hasn't sounded yet, so I doubt many people will be up. That's a good thing. Maybe not for Aphrodite girls though haha.

The sun was only just peeking out over the horizon, which is still enough light to move around. I don't normally wake up this early. That must be why I felt tired. It's mid-July right now, so the temperature is perfect here in the early morning. Being up this early reminds me of the few camping trips me and Mom went on. She insisted on getting up at the ACOD to "get into the camping spirit" or something. Gods I love her.

A camper I've never seen before walks past giving me an odd look. Which is odd since he looks older than 13. Did the gods break their promise on claiming kids before 13? I ran back to him to ask him.

"Hey, morning man," I say as I get next to him. He stops walking.

"Morning. Where's your shirt?" He asks. Fair enough question.

"No idea. I woke up in my cabin and all my stuff was gone. Probably a prank." I respond, along with giving an eye roll.

"That's rough."

"Ok, but I saw you walking and I didn't recognize you-"

"I don't recognize you either." He interrupts. "Which is odd since I've been here for 2 years now and I thought I knew everyone. And you're older than the PJPA."

"My thoughts were similar, 'cept I've been here for 6 years not 2. What's the PJPA?"

"The 'Percy Jackson Promise Age' of course! Is that a joke?"

"Umm, ok? I'm going to go… find Chiron."

"Alright see ya man." He said walking away.

That was extremely odd. Since when did they start calling the promise the Gods made after the Titan war the 'Percy Jackson Promise Age?' I must have been busy to not notice a 2-year-old camper. Chiron is probably in the dining pavilion getting breakfast ready. So I guess I'll walk there. A few more campers I also don't recognize also pass by me with weird looks. Another one was obviously an Aphrodite daughter and is now following me with no shame. They can be weird sometimes.

In the dining pavilion, there is a new statue there. I've never seen it before. How is there a new statue that wasn't there yesterday? This is all too weird. This day is weird. Maybe I'm dreaming?

The statue depicts a warrior casually holding a sword. Heck, kinda looks like me! The base of the statue reads:

PERSEUS JACKSON MEMORIAL STATUE

Perseus (Percy) Jackson was a hero. There is a debate that he

is the greatest hero of all time along with the likes of Hercules

and Odysseus. Unlike them, we were honored to have Percy

here with us in modern times, not ancient times.

1993-2011

Man, I must be on some sort of drugs. Connor and Travis really went too far this time. This is messed up. Unless there's something sinister going on here? Evil is afoot! Then I noticed another statue, not too far away from mine. This time it's a woman though. And it's Annabeth. A frown comes onto my face, and I clench my fist. This isn't a dumb prank, something wrong is going on here. Her statue reads:

ANNABETH CHASE MEMORIAL STATUE

Annabeth Chase, known for her many adventures and battles

with Perseus Jackson, has left no room for debate for her

argument. She is the greatest heroine of all time. May Hades

ease her soul in Elysium. May she find Percy there…

1993-2015

I was so lost in confusion and worrying for Annabeth, that I didn't hear the person sneak up behind me. The person shoves my face forcefully into the statue and holds me there. Then the woman speaks. "What are you? Some god playing some kind of trick huh? Leave! Before you hurt someone else besides me with this cruel joke." Her voice cracks in a few places, yet the voice sounds kind of familiar.

"Woah Woah Woah! Let me go! I don't have time for this in the morning! I just need to see Chiron. I think something's wrong." I tell her, obviously hoping she lets me go. She's strong for a girl. Kind of like- "Clarrise?" I ask. "You sound funny."

"There's no way. You're not Percy. Percy?" She lets me go after this. I turn around, and there's a woman who's obviously Clarrise, but way older. "How?" She whispers.

"Something's definitely wrong. You're old! I just woke up this morning and-"

"I'm 46 dammit Perce! It's 2037! 26 years since one day you just up and weren't in your cabin! Drove the whole damn place bat sh*t f*ckin crazy. And now you're here! 18 years old still!" She shouted at me. The Aphrodite girl who was following me isn't the only one now. Several have gathered to look at the scene.

"Please take me to Chiron, Clarisse. I don't know what happened. To me, it feels like yesterday I spent the day on the lake with Annabeth. Now she's dead or something. I'm scared now and I'm worried. Please take me." I say, somewhat distressed.

"Ok. We'll find Chiron. He's in the big house talking to Mr. D with a do not disturb sign-up. But I don't think that counts for dead people randomly walking out of bed. We'll also get you a shirt, that's the easiest problem to solve right now." So she took me to her cabin, around a dozen people tagging behind us and whispering.

She dashed into her cabin and grabbed a random boy's shirt from a bag. I could hear shouts and grumbles from inside. Ares campers always slept in until the last minute. The shirt was a little baggy, and I'm not a fan of the NY Jets but I guess it'll work.

The camp didn't look much different besides those two statues. I guess it isn't odd considering the gods run the place. Immortals don't change. People change. You can see that from looking at the wrinkles on Clarisse's face. Apollo doesn't have wrinkles. Zeus doesn't have wrinkles. Aphrodite FOR SURE doesn't have wrinkles otherwise I'll need to rethink my early years of puberty if you catch my drift.

What god could have done this to me? I must be the unluckiest half-blood to ever live. Odysseus was away from his family for like 10 years. I guess I'm onto 26 away from mine. Surely there's a place in the myths for me now? That'd be cool. Although this is a nightmare so I retract that statement.

I still didn't have shoes on, but the golden fleece made sure the grass was green so I'm fine. There's nothing worse than dead, scratchy grass. Grover would agree. Did anything happen to Grover? Or everyone else? I can't feel his empathy link.

The big house was now in view. "Clarisse, what about the… others?" I say hesitantly. She looks at me out of the corner of her eye, before wiping her brow and ignoring me. Oh, gods, that can't be good. They're probably all dead. This is worse than anything. I can feel small tears coming out of my eyes, but I need to see Chiron. Crying can wait.

Clarisse walks up the steps and bangs on the door. "Chiron, it's an emergency!" She shouts and continues banging. Within 5 seconds the door opens on its own.

"Come in Clarisse! What is wrong?" Chiron shouts back. We walked down the hallway, and into the conference room. Chiron, the old horse is in his wheelchair gathered around the ping pong table, Mr. D, and surprisingly Athena are also there.

Clarisse walked in first with me directly behind her. Mr. D choked on his coke when he saw me, going into a coughing fit. Not something I knew was possible with gods. Chiron just stared at me, and Athena acted like she always does, indifferent.

"Perseus Jackson! What?" Mr. D shouted. If you can't tell he is surprised. I'll bet you Athena expected me to come today, she always knows everything.

"Percy, my boy, where have you been? Do you realize how long it's been?" Chiron asked me.

"I don't know Chiron. Something is wrong. It's like what happened with Hera, except my memories haven't been taken. I just woke up today and found out it's been 26 years. Annabeth, and likely all my friends are dead."

"We will tell you everything, just come here, it's been so long," Chiron said with a bright smile. A quick glance at Clarisse showed a small smile as well. I and my mentor hugged.

When we were done I looked at Athena to confirm my worst fears. She nodded. "She is dead Perseus. She looked for you for years." She said, an angry and sad face on her. The room quickly darkened after the happy reunion. My body froze, hands quivering.

Then I looked at Clarisse. "Who else?" I got out.

"You don't want to know right now. Just-" She shook her head.

"WHO ELSE!" I shouted, tears flowing down.

"Nearly everyone. Jason died on Nero's ship, Piper overdosed after his death, Frank and Hazel were killed by other Romans, Nico died fighting monsters, everyone else is dead Percy. It is a demigod's life. I am lucky and cursed for living. Chaos herself must hate you, Percy." I fell over onto the floor at that point, ratcheting with sobs. Clarisse got on her knees above me. "But, your family is still alive Percy. Sally and Paul, even Estelle. Thalia is still with the hunt along with Reyna, Leo and Calypso have been staying in Indianapolis, and I'm alive." She was crying too. Chiron wheeled over as well and looked at me.

I cried on the floor of the big house until I eventually passed out. I hurt so bad…

I think this is a good, but sad intro chapter. What do you think is going to happen next? Any ideas for OC's? Any ideas for the plot? Let me know in the reviews or PM. Trials of Apollo, despite how bad the books were, mostly happened. A few things have changed. For christ's sake, Piper is not a lesbian in this story.
