Hi everyone reading! Hope you are enjoying my story. Sorry for any spelling errors, I write late at night and sometimes make mistakes! Anyway... here we go. I'm jumping back and forth between a "now" time frame and a "then" time frame.

Obi-Wan was on baby duty today, playing with both of the babies while Padme went into town for food and supplies. They moved to this new planet about a month ago and they were finally getting settled in. They both knew it wouldn't be for long, but they had no other choice. This planet was warm, summer weather all year round. The babies seemed to love it, playing outside everyday, even taking their first steps here. Both Padme and Obi-Wan were plagued with guilt for having to subject the twins to this kind of lifestyle. The empire was growing stronger and the galaxy barely looked as it did before. Everyone seemed to live in constant fear. It was a very dark time for everyone.

Obi-Wan enjoyed watching the twins, guilt did eat him alive though. Whenever he looked at them, he felt pain in his heart. Their father should be raising them, not him. They reminded him so much of Anakin, even at this young stage. Leia truly looked like her father, Luke took after Padme. Obi-Wan often wondered how Anakin, now Vader, was doing. How many lives he was destroying. If he felt any guilt for what he did to Padme. After the birth of the twins, Obi-Wan, Master Yoda, and Bail Organa planned and carried out a fake funeral for Padme. Her own parents didn't even know she was alive. The whole galaxy believed she was dead and her "funeral" was shown all over. Obi-Wan wondered if Vader had watched.. he was sure he did. Vader and the emperor had to believe that Padme and the twins were dead, otherwise they would come for them. Obi-Wan worked tirelessly to help Padme block Anakin from her mind, severing their force connection. With the twins, that was a different story. They were force sensitive, and Obi-Wan worried one day Vader would be able to feel them. Protecting the twins was all that mattered. They were the only hope left. At night Obi would wonder..why wasn't Anakin the one to bring balance to the force? He felt lied to by the Jedi. Maybe the children would be the ones to bring balance, and they came from Anakin.

Since the republic had fallen, both Padme and Obi felt shame. Obi felt betrayed. Padme felt guilty for her relationship with Anakin. She felt if she had stayed away, none of this would have happened. She missed her family greatly and it killed her they would never know her children. The life of constantly being on the run was tough. She was angry with herself for allowing the marriage, the babies...all of it. She felt like a failure. She didn't regret her children, but fear, anxiety, and stress over raising them in secret and their potential force capabilities riddled her mind daily. They would never have a normal life. And what if one day they would have to face the emperor? Was it up to these two little precious babies to bring balance to the force? She really wanted her children to grow up a normal life, but this was their normal.

For Padme, going out in public scared her. She couldn't hide all the time and had errands to run. She was always looking over her shoulder and listening to whoever she heard talking about the empire. She knew the emperor had a new apprentice, someone named Vader, but she knew nothing about this person. She figured he would have tons of help, overthrowing governments and destroying planets. She hated him. How could she not see who he really was? She felt stupid. She helped the emperor get to the position of power he was in and boy did she regret it. Once all of her errands were finished, Padme made the journey back to their small village in the mountains. Right now she was living in a small home with her twins, while Obi-Wan lived a few houses down. Without Obi-Wan and the help of a few select people who knew the truth, none of this would be possible. Padme was thankful for them.

"Mama!" Leia was talking first. Padme was home from the market and dropped her bags to embrace Leia. "My princess!" She said hugging her tight. Obi-Wan was finally seeing the mother Padme truly was. At first she was so overwhelmed by everything, she wasn't emotionally there with the twins. Now she seemed to be taking motherhood on with full force. She listened to both babies babble while Obi-Wan put the food away, cleaned up and got ready to leave himself.

"Thank you for watching them Obi-Wan, I know they are getting harder to watch." She said with a grin. It was true, the twins were turning into toddlers and getting into everything they could. They were curious, smart, and very funny. He loved them, although he knew he shouldn't.

"Padme it is truly amazing watching them grow...you are becoming a fantastic mother. I am proud of you." He told her. He really was. All she had been through and she kept pushing forward. She gave him a smile and said goodbye. She had dinner to get started and it would soon be time for the twins to go to sleep. Night time was the hardest time for Padme. She did not sleep very well. Her mind thought of Anakin, what happened to him.. to them.. she fantasized none of this happened and he would walk through the door ready to be a father and husband again. She was heartbroken...

Vader stood on the control deck of his ship. It had been a year since his world changed forever. Gone were the bandages that covered his face, they were now replaced with scars. It took him a long time to learn how to walk again, his body wasn't the same since his fight with Obi-Wan. He vowed to find Obi and make him pay for what he did. He became obsessed with finding him. Even though Vader was responsible for Padmes death, he still blamed Obi-Wan. 'I miss her...' he thought to himself. Every single day Vader felt crushed by the actions that lead to his wife and children's death. He had it all and it was now gone. The only thing he had left was his power and control, and he ruled with an iron fist. Vader had made a name for himself, ruthless, a monster, soulless. He was known throughout the galaxy as being a heartless murderer, and he let nothing get in his way.

He walked around the control deck, watching the empires workers cower in fear when he neared them. The emperor always had him busy with a mission but Vaders true mission was to find Obi-Wan and kill him. His anger and rage for him burned deep...

At night, Vader stayed awake. He would watch Padmes funeral over and over again. He didn't want to believe it was true. He finally had it all and he let his anger get the best of him. Vader did not have a soul...his body was forever changed. He had no hair left, it was growing in very slowly. His face was completely scared up with burns from the fire. His body was still muscular but it was harder for him to work out because of his leg. He missed the touch of his wife. He missed everything about her. It was Anakin who married Padme, but Vader slowly came out throughout their marriage. He couldn't control himself anymore. He wanted power, he wanted control of his life. He started to want to control Padme as well, why couldn't she just see what he was doing was for the best? He tried his best not to think of his twins...that was a subject he tried to completely block out. Anakin could be a father, Vader could not.

Vader laid down in his chambers. He slowly started to drift into sleep..something he barely got any of. The dreams started instantly..Padme. He saw he constantly in his sleep. He dreamed of the same few moments over and over again. The first dream was always the night him and Padme made their children. That was a dream he did not mind having. The second dream was him physically abusing her, which he did do a number of times. The third and final dream was her in childbirth, screaming for him. It was better if he didn't sleep, he didn't have to worry about the dreams...

It was late at night in Coruscant. The city was still bustling with people, it never seemed to end. Padme sat in her living room, going over paperwork and preparing for the next days events. She was burnt out. Frustrated. Tired. She hadn't seen her husband in months and missed him terribly. She put her paperwork down and stared out of the window. Speeders flying by in the city, people still up, life happening right before her eyes. Before another thought could enter her head, she heard a knock on her window. She got up and saw...him. Her husband. Her Anakin. Overjoyed, she rushed him inside. "Anakin!" She grabbed him tight and hugged him so hard, she never wanted to let go.

"Hello my angel." He said while kissing her passionately. He didn't let her go. She was his angel, the one he saw so many years ago, when he was just still a boy. She was his world. They sat there, hugging one another for what seemed like an eternity. "It's been so long." She said. They didn't move for a while. Both of them needed one another and needed this hug.

Padme let go first and studied Anakin, she grabbed his face with her hands, something she always did when he returned from the front lines...she was looking for new scars and wounds. "I am ok Padme, nothing new this time." He said calmly. He always appreciated that she took the time to make sure he wasn't physically hurt.

She was already in her nightgown, he was still in his Jedi clothes.."when did you get in?" She asked.

"About a half hour ago, Obi-Wan thinks I'm out clearing my head." He said as he grabbed her close again. He missed her. He desperately wanted a normal life with her, every time he was away he was worried something would happen to her, and he wouldn't be there to save her.

"Gods I've missed you." It's all he needed to say.

"How long are you home for?" She asked, hoping it would be a longer stay.

"Just tonight. I have to leave again tomorrow for the outter rim. I don't know when they will let us come back for good. This war is never ending." He could see the disappointment on her face. Padme deserved a normal life. Why she stuck around for him he would never understand. "Let's just enjoy the right now, my angel." He stroked her face gently with his finger, brushing some of her hair that had fallen out of her face and tucking it behind her ears.

Padme grabbed Anakins hands. She had so much to tell him and yet she found herself only wanting one thing from him, she wanted him. It wasn't a sexual thing, she wanted his touch, his time, his affection. She wanted to share her life with him, every single part of it. She felt guilty for wanting him all the time, they both had duties that came before their marriage. But it didn't stop her from wanting that "normal" life. She slowly started kissing him, unbuttoning the top of his pants, and taking his Jedi robes off, letting them fall to the floor. Anakin did not fight this, his body yearned for hers, he had been away for a long time. He could feel the excitement building up, he started to undress her. Their lips never broke as they made their way to her bedroom, leaving their clothes on the living room floor. Anakin wasted no time, he picked Padme up and gently laid her on their bed. He kissed her hard, letting his sexual frustration out. Anakin grabbed Padmes legs and placed them on his shoulders, moving his mouth down to her vagina, he knew how to pleasure her this way. Padme sat back and enjoyed every second of his lips on her, but she wanted him inside of her. She grabbed him and pulled his mouth to hers, right as he entered her, he let out a groan and they started to fall into a rhythm. He knew exactly what to do but something about this time felt..different. Maybe it was this was the longest they had gone without seeing one another, maybe it was the fact they were both stressed out and longing for a normal life together, but something was different. Padme moaned loudly and it fueled Anakin to pump harder. He knew how to make her cum and he knew she was on her way to that moment. He could barely contain his own excitement and it happened..both at the same time they let out screams of passion. Something was different about this. Their hearts seemed to turn into one and it was almost like they were floating. Neither had experienced this before. This was more than a husband and wife making love, this was a connection they had never felt before. Anakin came inside of her, something he tried not to do, a baby was something that would complicate their lives further. He could not help himself. Padme was loving this and needed him badly. He stayed inside of her for a few moments.. he rested his forehead on top of hers and whispered to her, "I love you." Nothing was more important than her. She was the one who knew everything about him, even his darkest secrets. He could never let her go.

"Anakin, that was... different." She said as he started to stand up. Anakin threw his pants on and climbed back into bed with his wife. "I know, I felt it too." He kissed her forehead and started to rub her back. She was still naked and planned on staying that way for the rest of the night. "I'm nervous Padme, I should have pulled out." He said shyly.

"No, it's fine, we will be ok. We have been in the past. I wanted you to do that." She said matter of fact. Little did they know...their babies were made this night.

They stayed up as long as they could, catching each other up on what was happening in their lives. Anakin told Padme all about his battles on the front lines, Padme telling Anakin all about the senate and her struggles to get anything moving forward. They slept next to one another, holding each other tight, never wanting the sun to rise. Before they knew it, it was goodbyes, until next time. It was hard. She watched Anakin fly away in his speeder, wondering when the next time they would see each other would be. She hated this. It was starting to wear on her. Her husband was one of the best Jedis in the galaxy. He was loved and adored by many. He saved countless lives. But he was still her husband. While he was away, worry was her best friend. Once his speeder was out of sight, Padme said a prayer, "please let him come home safe."
