A/N: Going to work on pumping out the stories I have been working on. And definitally finish Notice Me Senpai.
Chapter 6
Lyla had finally reached the front of the line at the fancy coffee shop. She was happy that she had made the choice to leave early to be able to make it in time. The coffee that Mr. Yamazaki liked was just plain black and specifically from an on location coffee brewery in a completely different direction from the office.
Lyla thanked the cashier. She was making great time and only had to stop at the pastry store two train stations down.
Turning to leave the building she had to weave through the growing crowd. Once she reached the door it opened inward toward her. Trying to stop the door with her forearm she accidentally applied too much pressure around the cup, causing the lid to pop and the hot liquid inside to spill over the sides and onto her hand.
In the heat of the moment, Lyla drops the cup making matters worse. The cup hitting the floor making the liquid momentum up high enough to splatter onto her white blouse.
Lyla stood there watching the smooth morning turn rough. An employee came behind her with a mop and started to clean up her mess. Looking over at the long line she knew that there was no way that she'd be able to get another coffee in time.
Continuing past the forming line she kept the now empty cup in her hand. She quickly thought of a Plan B.
She still managed to get the pastry from the mom and pop shop that Andrews had instructed her to be sure to go to. Lyla found it humorous that the coffee preference was so expensive while the pastry was sweet and cheap. In a good way.
With the empty cup in hand she went to the nearest convenience store and purchased a plain black coffee. That she emptied into the fancy cup.
Lyla took a moment to close her eyes and breath.
"Okay, Everything else will be okay." She told herself.
Mr. Yamazaki didn't notice the difference in the coffee. Or at least if he did he didn't show it.
Leaving the office Andrews stops Lyla.
"Your blouse seems to be tarnished. Have you a replacement?"
She looked at the brown splatter that was already stained into the fabric.
"I do not. I will try to change before today's lunch meeting." Lyla was feeling judged, "Now if you'll excuse me. I will be checking with the specifics of the Grand View Room."
Lyla didn't go to the Grand View Room. She made way to the intern breakroom where she found herself plopping down on the couch.
Only two others were in the room sitting at the computer station.
Lyla laid her head back and took in a deep breath.
"Hey, Aren't you the girl working under Mr. Yamazaki?" Lyla looked up and saw that the two guys were looking her way.
She sighed, "Yes. Why do you ask?"
The two guys looked at one another, "Well, the other girl thats interning just mentioned having to take the Grand View Room from Mr. Yamazaki's intern."
Lyla sat up straight. "She can't do that. I've already reserved it."
"Weeeellll, Rumor has it she's very persuasive." The guy next to him made a motion of pushing his hand up and down into his lap.
So much frustration grew inside of Lyla. She was running around getting and spilling coffee all over herself and meanwhile the one other female who had made it through was giving blowjobs to get her job done.
She made way out of the room and to the Grand View and sure enough there were people starting to file into the meeting space.
Before she could step into the chaos she was stopped by someone in a shirt pencil skirt dress suit.
"You must be Lyla. My name is Mei. There was a complication in the reservation I heard. Don't worry I made sure to personally take care of it. Your room reservation has been moved to Room 299."
Before Lyla could even say anything, Mei was smiling her way into the Grand View Room and closing the double doors behind her.

Room 299 was nothing compared to the Grand View room. First and foremost the Grand View room was named as such because the windows were huge and showed all of the city.
This room had two small windows that had blinds and curtains hiding the sight. There were three tables and about a dozen chairs. The amount of furniture compared to the space size made the room feel smaller than it was and cluttered.
Lyla checked the time. She could make this space better but she had to start now.
She started by stacking all of the chairs in five different stacks. That labor work alone took its own time. After checking how the blinds and curtains were secured to the walls she knew she would need a screwdriver or better yet a power drill. She was going to need help.
Finding the custodian's closet wasn't hard and as expected it wasn't locked. Looking through the small space she found a tool kit with a simple screwdriver.
Breaking a sweat Lyla pushed a table as close to the window as she could.
Out in the hall, Mr. Yamazaki and Andrews were walking with intensity toward Room 299. Andrews was apologizing and bowing repeatedly. Yamazaki wasn't happy to see that such an important meeting was moved to a space that was normally used for meetings of lower staff.
When he approached the opening of the door he glanced in and was surprised to see that the room was in the mists of a transformation.
He lifted his hand to silence Andrews and he watched the detail the intern had placed in the room.
The windows blinds and curtains had been removed creating a much larger backspace and inviting in an enormous amount of natural lighting. All the tables and chairs had been removed except for one table and four chairs that were in the far back of the room near the windows.
"Should we stop her?" Andrews whispered.
Yamazaki watched as the woman was clearly working her ass off. Her shirt was no longer tucked and showcased a splattered stain on the front. Her feet were bare. Probably due to having to climb the tables to reach the laboring job of removing hardware from the walls.
He saw that the room showed a creative eye. One that understood how to utilize space concept. It showed that this person understood the art of zen architecture and interior design. The addition of green plant placement and blue wall art, which he knew wasn't there before, showed that this person also understood color psychology. That the hints of natural green brought in warmth, stable and prosperous feelings while the shaded of blue conveyed loyalty and trust. All of these things were important in a meeting space.
"No. I want to see the end result."
With that he turned and walked back down the hall to his office.

Lyla is going to have just enough time to go to the yakitori restaurant and return for the meeting.
She knew she looked a mess but didn't have time to fix herself just yet. The location of the restaurant was familiar. It was just down the way from where the KFC she had worked at was located.
When she arrived at the restaurant she knew that bad news awaited. A woman was outside the store. The store looked to be in shambles.
Lyla half absorbed the information she was being given. The restaurant was in shambles and had a kitchen fire due to a villain and vigilantes occurrence not long earlier. The owner of the restaurant promised to refund the money but Lyla's head was spinned as the simple fact that, once again, she was going to have to improvise something for the day.
It wasn't going to be the skewered yakitori that had been asked but it was still yakitori by definition. Lyla found herself walking into the KFC ordering the westernized fried chicken.
So maybe she got away with the coffee this morning and maybe she'll have pulled off Room 299. But one thing was for sure. THIS was not what was asked of her.
Lyla sighed and headed back.
When she entered the building she asked the woman at the front desk if there was a room with decoration and utility accommodations. She was pleased to inform that there was.
That was where Lyla was able to find a serving plate that was of nicer quality than the KFC bucket and bag.
She swapped the chicken from one container to the next in Room 298. The room next door where she had shoved all the extra tables and chairs. Lyla had also used the last bit of money she had on her to buy five water bottles from out of the break room vending machine. They were placed on a try as well.
While Lyla was bringing the more aesthetically pleasing food and drink to Room 299 she was stopped.
The man was in a jumpsuit that told her he was the custodian of the building.
"I heard that you've been taking bathroom paintings and pants from the main entrance." He was monotone and to the point.
Lyla blushed at being caught, "I'm just borrowing them. I will put them back after Mr. Yamazaki's meeting. I needed to make the room more appealing because the Grand View room got swiped out from under me. I even promise to screw back in the blinds and curtains myself."
The man watched as she spoke.
Lyla waited for a response.
"Show me the room."
Lyla wasn't going to fight the man. She led him to the room.
He looked around the room and nodded his head.
"You did good. My brother will approve."
"Your brother?" Lyla asked.
"Mr. Yamazaki is my older brother. I may just be the custodian but I enjoy keeping this place look neat and tidy." He looked around the room again, "If you put everything back to the way it was, I will drill the blinds and curtains in myself."
Lyla smiled and gave the man a small bow as he exited the room.

Hawks nodded his head at the woman at the desk and headed straight into the elevator. He had email confirmation telling him which meeting room would be his. When he had arrived at the Grand View Room it was being cleared of a previous meeting.
He leaded outside the doorway waiting. He could both sense and hear that the woman inside the room wasn't the former KFC employee.
"Thank you for the favor." Hawks heard the woman speak in a seductive voice.
"You were very convincing." A male voice.
Hawks could put two and two together.
He heavily signed thinking about having to ask for directions. And into the room he walked.
