She wanted to slap the smug look off of his face. She also simultaneously wanted to crush his stupid face between her thighs till she drowned him.
Neither to which she could do because they were in a meeting with other individuals.
Individuals that she was sure were having the same thought as her.
"I don't advice on this discussion, Mr. Hawks." She spoke up for the entirety of the people in the room.
Hawks knew he was pushing buttons. He knew that she was annoyed at his antics. He also knew that she wasn't the only one. His old building manager sat beside him massaging his temples in frustration.
"But it could be the start of something huge that could expand." The pro hero's eyes lite up at the thought of the idea. But mostly he just wanted to see how far he could push the idea.
Lyla could see through all of it. She had been dealing with his shenanigans for the months that she works for the chicken franchise and their current partnership was currently going of 3 weeks.
Which brought a new point.
"Hawks. Your ambitions are ever flowing. But over the last three weeks we have already gone over the blueprints with the visionary and schematics team. Today's meeting is for final approval."
She could see that he was watching her lips move as she spoke. She could feel that he was holding on to every word. And the whole of it made her want to pop a vein.
Lyla reframed from heavy sighing, "A Pro Hero Hawks themed establishment is an excellent idea but let us not get distracted from our current project."
Hawks' eyes were glowing and his head was tilted to the side as he watched Lyla skillfully talk him down from opening up a Hawks Fried Chicken restaurant in the agency receptionist entrance.
Of course he knew the idea wasn't practical but over the past few weeks working with Lyla he had really seen how smart she was and how she worked through the project management. What he enjoyed the most was watching her work through his impossible requests while also entertaining some of them in a less dramatic and more practical approach.
"Now that our personal intern has addressed that." Hawks heard the snide in the man's voice. A man that was the official head of the team since Lyla wasn't an official employee, "Hawks, we will be proceeding with construction in the coming week. We have the best of the best and construction should have an estimated finish in 3 weeks. We-"
"5 weeks." Hawks eyes drag from the foreign man to Lyla.
His eyes weren't the only ones. The man was not looking pleased that Lyla spoke at all. Hawks noted this in all of his interactions with the man and Lyla.
"Excuse me?"
Lyla pulled out a form from her binder, "The estimated finish was requested to be pushed to 5 weeks due to an injury with their crew."
The man's face was tight. Trying not to give into his annoyance but failing.
"And who gave them the authorization?"
He could see Lyla's lips let out a slow breath.
"I did."
Everyone at the table was quiet. Hawks wanted to break the tension and stick up for the woman. But he also knew that she'd only chew him out for it later.
"Please wait outside." The man's voice was even as he spoke.
Lyla didn't fight the situation and instead kept her head high and walked out of the room.
She waited outside the door for the meeting to come to an end. It had definitely been a trying last few weeks. Working with Hawks was one kind of irritation.
But working with George Jones was another irritation. Because she was still an intern she fell under his care. He was the top architectural manager on the project. Even if it did feel like Lyla was the one showing face for all of the clientele work.
They had nothing but disagreements throughout the entire project thus far. If it wasn't for the fact the Mr. Yamazaki and Hawks approved of her; none of what she did would have gone through approval.
Having a large scale balcony for flighted heroes to enter through on multiple levels.
Jones only approved after Hawks over exaggerated the concept and she functionalized it.
The gym that was two stories in height only got approved after Lyla had brought the idea to Hawks.
Contracting out Cementoss and his side company for construction was her idea. It saved money due to tax write offs that came from using a charitable company. This only got approved after she brought the idea to Mr. Yamazaki with his coffee and pastry.
Having the a local demolition crew take down the current structure was her idea that got denied and only approved after a small conversation with Mr. Yamazaki about how the pastry mom and pop shop's son works for the said demolition crew. That it would look good to give work back to the community.
Needless to say, Jones wasn't happy that Lyla was doing such excellent work. He looked for anything to say no to and she felt like she always had to be on her toes.
Something the winged hero wasn't understanding everytime he tried to pull her into a closet or an empty meeting room and she'd have to deny his advances.
Though there was a time or two that she didn't.
The door opened and the members of the team walked past her. A few of them give her a sorrowful head nod as they pass.
She continued to wait till Jones exited. It made her veins pop when he did with the winged hero hanging over him.
Jones was always sucking up to the hero and of course Keigo always went along with it because he liked the attention.
"I look forward to tackling the project when the time comes." She hears Jones.
Hawks makes eye contact with her first, "Yeah! And by then Ms. Lyla won't be an intern anymore. You guys make a good team."
Lyla's quirk wasn't laser vision but if it was, Hawks wouldn't have his signature face anymore.
The winged hero continues, "It was a good decision to accept the delay. All of the heroes and employees are taken care of so the extension won't affect their work." Hawks turned to the irritated Jones, "Plus having Cementoss on your good side will be good for the future."
Like a switch Jones' face evolved to impress the hero.
"Gotta Fly." Hawks stopped his slouching on the man and left with a small wave. Leaving her there with her least favorite person.
That said man sighed, "I need you to run a few errands around the town for me." He didn't look at her and only brought out his phone, "I will email you the tasks and I expect that it'll most likely take you over the end of day time."
On que, Lyla's phone dingged and upon looking at the email she realized that not one of the tasks involved the project or even business in any way.
It was his personal affairs.
"Sir, I'm sure that there are other tasks that I could do more diligently."
Jones looks up at her, "I'm sure." Hee looks her up and down, "But I don't want want you working on this project currently."
She was about to object.
"It's just a temporary pause in your action till you can learn how to properly communicate with your subordinates." He speaks the words as he walks past her down the hall.
Hawks had just sped through his patrol with his sidekicks. Nothing was eventful or noteworthy. He knew that there was a skip in his step as they departed. Lyla and himself had made plans to meet up that night.
They have been meeting up for nearly a month and the excitement was still there for him though he was sure Lyla got annoyed with him when he'd flirt and tease her at the workplace.
Didn't she know that it was her annoyed face that made it all that better?
He stopped by the convenience store on his way, getting post-sex snacks. He'd done it the last time he had headed to her apartment and she seemed to really appreciate the action. The smile on her face when he got the coconut milk chocolate biscuit threats did it all for him.
He was hoping to get the smile again. It was obvious that the senior project manager was giving her a hard time. But he also knew there was a time and place for when he could and couldn't intervene.
Then he made it to her apartment he knocked but proceeded to walk through without a response. He had only met the roommate a few times in passing.
He worked at a venue that had late showings of idol groups. A job he noticed the man enjoyed enough to try and share and see if they had common interests.
Hawks wasn't ashamed to admit that there were a few idol bands that he enjoyed but there was also only so much that he'd share.
There was a small knock before the door just opened to reveal the winged hero. She looked up from the pile of paperwork.
"Ughh, I'm sorry Keigo. I don't think that it's going to work tonight." She heavily sighed.
She was still in her business pants and shirt and had only taken off her blazer when she entered the room.
"Not a chance." He starts to discard his hero accessories, along with his gloves and jacket, "I'm not leaving."
"Keigo." She groans and he can't help but love it when she does that. The hint of annoyance made it all the better.
He pushes the papers in front of her to one side of the bed and grabs her ankles out from underneath her.
Swiftly she is on her back pulled to the end of the bed, where he starts to kiss her neck.
"I'm not leaving." He smiles into the kisses he peppers across her neck and collarbone, "And you need to unwind."
He can feel her body begin to relax and he takes pleasure in feeling her starting to drift away into his advances.
The intentions of the visit had changed but he was fine with that. As he pulls down her work pants and underwear he delivers more kisses along her thighs.
His eyes travel and watch her face. He moves one leg over his shoulder while pushing her other one into the mattress. His first fingers pressed deliciously into her thigh.
Watching her face he can see her anticipation and he can't wait to deliver.
Flattening his tongue as her entrance and locking up through her folds and over her clit. Wetting her and tasting her.
He does this a few times before stopping to twirl, suck, and play with her sensitive nerve. His saliva dripping from his mouth and rolling down through her folds.
Her breathing was becoming heavy and he noticed how she pulled at her own hair. Without moving his head his hand grabs her elbow and directs her hands to his own.
Lyla's heavy lidded eyes look directly into his as she now moves her fingers through his hair. She wasn't rough. Her fingers tenderly playing with his waves and scalp.
The actions encouraged him. He wanted to bring her to the brink and have her overflowing with pleasure. He tests her with one finger and finds the two would be better.
He was slow with his movements at first. Finding her pleasure point. When he does he curls his fingers and massages it and increases speed and pressure just a fraction. He continues this as he feels her to squirm under him. He panting, turning to moaning.
Her hands start to pull at his hair unskillfully but he ignores it and continues exactly what he is doing with his fingers and sucking at her clit.
Then he feels it. The tightening of her walls, the buck of her hips, and the flow of liquid around his finger. Even after all this he continues his actions.
"Kh. Keigo. That's enough." She whimpers.
He listens to her, kisses her clit, and slowly uncurls his fingers inside of her. The last actions that make her twitch from sensitivity.
Lyla lets out a breathy laugh and watches him wipe off his mouth with the back of his hand, "Proud of yourself?"
He watches her glossed over eyes and soft smile. The stressed out woman now having a moment of contentment, "I'm just happy I got to ruffle your feathers."
Pulling up the convenience store bag from the end of the bed, "I brought snacks." He gets up and turns to her closet to grab her some sweatpants, he'd seen her get them enough times before so he knew where they were.
Tossing them on the bed, "Get comfortable. I'm getting water and then I'll see what I can help with."
He leaves the room before she can reply.
Lyla got herself comfortable and started to rummage through the bag. It had all of their post sex favorites. Who'd have thought a friends with benefits would have such nice benefits?
She started to set up the space for them to get comfortable. When he returned she didn't break eye contact with the document in her lap as she took the glass of water. There was a shift that she felt on the side of the bed indicating that he was sitting next to her.
"It was the last of those chocolates. I was almost worried that I'd have to hit up other convenience stores to look for them." She turns her head toward him.
"You'd have store-hopped just to find my go-to food? Well, aren't you my hero?"
He watched as she turned to the treat he had gotten her. The smile that Hawks had wanted to see was there. He'd had gone to 10 different stores to find the source that granted him that smile.
She noticed that he didn't answer her comment, "Thank you, Keigo."
His name on her tongue. It sounded right to him. He got more comfortable in her small room, on her bed, smelling her scent on her pillowcase, he liked being around her.
He also knew what that probably mean't. But he chose to ignore it for now.
