THE OTHER WAY ROUND

Chapter 3

I could see that rose was still mad at me. I wanted to apologize for my irrational behaviour but that redhead guardian whose actually is Mason Ashford, wouldn't leave her alone. And she also didn't mind his company.

I remember mason used to teach me when I was 15. He used to teach our class some basic combat moves. I actually liked him back then. He was high spirited and jolly for a guardian.

But I never saw rose at the academy before. Yes ive heard of the "deadly" Hathaway duo. They were one of the best female guardians ever, mother and daughter actually.

I even saw Janine Hathaway, from a distance once, but rose looked nothing like her. She had deep brown eyes and amazing brown: almost black hair, they were so long and wavy. Female Guardians always cut off their hair to show there molnija marks, it's a tattoo that symbolizes how many strigoi a guardian has killed it was shaped like two streaks of a jagged lightning, crossing in like a 'X'. I wonder why rose didn't cut her hair short… she would've looked more guardian like in short hair. But still long hair suited her the best.

Again! You should not be thinking of your senior, a guardian. like that!

The guardians were all marching towards the main gate mason had his arm over rose's shoulders. Mason gave her a look of complete adoration as she yawned a couple of times. I decided to look away from them, instead I looked at Ivan. Guardian specter and pace walked side by side with him in the middle. He did looked scared but atleast he was okay.

As soon as we reached in front of the gate, it flung open.

Back to the vampire academy…

It hadn't changed much, it was still boring.. and old.

The statue of our mascot 'sir vladimir' s statue stood in the middle of the school compound.

Rose turned behind and looked at me, signalling me to move forward.
as I walked past them a hand grabbed my arm from behind. A jolt of electricity passed through me cuz of that touch.

It was rose.

"you better be on your best behaviour in there, Dimitri." She said to me. her tone was laced with no emotions, "ivan will surely be left unpunished because of his royal moroi status. But you are a dhampir, it wouldn't take her a second to throw you out of the academy. So I suggest u keep ur male ego aside and say sorry to her as much as possible, even though I know that you're not sorry for ur actions."

Her words sort of infuriated me not because of her mocking tone…. But because of how she knew that I was not sorry for my actions. Which was completely true. I was not at all sorry for my actions, because what Ivan and I did, had to be done.

What confused me was how she figured it out. Ivan couldn't even figure out my emotions at most times because I kept them so hidden under…. But Rose seem to get me. How?

I nodded curtly at her and started walking in Ivan and the other guardians direction.

They were taking us to Kirova-

Headmistress Kirova.

What Dimitri did out there was stupid… but I also couldn't help ignore the fact that he jumped out of the car just to alert me. I already knew there was a strigoi coming at me. I didn't turn around becuz I wanted to catch him by surprise. My heart stopped when I saw Dimitri behind me.

Though his intentions were good, but what he did was irrational and completely irresponsible.

And I felt sorry for what I was going to do to him. He knew that we were taking them to Kirova, but what he didn't knew- was from which path we were gonna take them from. He was walking infront of me and mason and ivan and the other 2 guardians were walking in the front. we stopped in front of the main dining room of the campus. The doors flung open. And as I expected, the breakfast was going on. The whole academy was there as soon as ivan and Dimitri walked in people were staring at them in shock.

Both Dimitri and Ivan did not expected that.

After a minute of being horror stricken, Dimitri turned around and looked a me. I felt bad for him, but it was kirova's orders to bring them in her office through the dining room. I shrugged at him and looked away.

As us guardians walked in, all the dhamphirs stood up and slightly bowed down to us. I walked towards Dimitri and gave him a little nudge at the shoulder to tell him to keep going. My gaze fell on a group of dhamphir girls who were looking at him with hunger in their eyes. I felt a pang of jealousy shot into me.

I glared at them and well… they turned their eyes down.

I smiled in my mind.

Until I saw the Ozera girl waving slightly at Dimitri, she had a complete look of adoration. The jealousy was under control until I saw Dimitri smiling back at her. Then without even thinking I clutched dimitri's arm and he snapped his head in my direction. I locked my eyes into his and gave him a deadly stare and then practically dragged him to kirova's office. He didn't even pulled back once. I don't know what had gotten into me. why do I even feel jealous?

Like jealous?

That word isnt suppose to be in Rose Hathaway's dictionary!

He is a student! A damn novice… I cant do that!

Im a guardian… I cant be so vulnerable and crazy with a novice.

And a novice who's 7 freaking years younger than me!

Maybe Natasha was someone special for him…. I saw the way he looked at her with love and trust and-

I should've been the one he looks at in that way.

"not he should not! He's a student and you are a guardian!" my mind snapped at me.

That's right!

He will definitely not choose to be with a older woman like me, he obviously wants nice and good looking girls like natasha.

There's no way in hell we are gonna happen.

And anyway… I really don't have time for love in my life.

And I and Dimitri have nothing to do with each other. Its just a simple attraction.

It will fade eventually.

When I returned from my wonderland I found all of us standing outside kirova's office. I still had my grip on Dimitri's arm. I let go immediately.

"Its just a simple attraction" I kept telling myself.

Mason came over to me and told me that we can enter in.

I told ivan to go in first. He looked a little scared but Dimitri told him that he will be right behind him.

They both went inside, followed by me mason and guardian pace.

There were a few more guardians present inside.

Kirova had a look of pure joy and hatred on her face.

Looks like im not gonna get my sleep any time soon…

I know this was a short chapter, but I had so much fun when I wrote the parts in which rose and Dimitri get jealous. I was legit laughing while typing it.

Soooo… how do u think Kirova will react. And will rose save comrade?

What bout Dimitri and tasha?

And what will happen when someone from rose's past comes again to her life? Will she realize that her feeling for Dimitri are real or will she just keep telling herself that its 'simple attraction' ?
