RPOV-
Hurt.
I was hurt.
I was hurt when Dimitri shouted at me.
I still don't know why I accept to be dimitri's mentor. Im suppose to stay as far away as possible from him. He has this thing in him… which makes me think about him more and more.
I shouldn't think about him!
Its just simple attraction.
We walked out of kirova's office. I walked in the front, not wanting to see anyone's face. Dimitri in particular…
I kept thinking about me being Dimitri's mentor.
Here I was thinking at after our little recruiting mission I wouldn't have to see this wild and impulsive novice again. But now I have to see him everyday… train him… spar with him… talk with him!
I cant do it.
I just cant.
I cant listen to dimitri's Russian accent. Him saying my name…. those lips…
huh! What is happening to me!
as soon as I stepped outside the wing I saw Lissa running towards me, Christian was also there, walking behind her.
Before I could say anything she flung her arms around me and gave me a hug that nearly cracked my ribs.
"oh god rose! You're alive!" lissa screamed in joy.
"liss… cant.. breath" I managed to say.
I pulled back instantly.
"oh sorry.. but you know the guardians said that there was a strigoi attack and then when I asked about you they didn't said anything. I mean im princess Vasilisa Dragomir! How can they not tell me. and you are my best friend! And my guardian- im suppose to know what happened with you! The moroi's were gossiping whether you are dead or not- and but I knew that you were- cuz ofcourse you're rosemarie Hathaway mazur and-" lissa kept on rambling
that my folks is my bestfriend and my charge lissa!
"babe!" Christian said and sighed "let rose breathe"
Lissa stopped and took a deep breathe.
I saw Dimitri and ivan coming towards me from the corner of my eye. They were both surprised maybe from the ribs cracking hug that I received.
"are you okay?" lissa asked softly.
I chuckled a bit "I am liss. No one can kill rose Hathaway that easily."
"hmm.. it'll take a lot to kill you rosie." Christian said and chuckled.
"yea.. but it'll take only me to kill you. Lord Christian Ozera" I said and gave him a dramatic bow.
"rose-" Christian was defiantly mad at me for saying his title (which he hated btw)
"stop it. Both of you! Always bickering and fighting." Lissa snapped at us.
We both flushed with embarrassment, but still I could see a playful smile playing on his lips. I didn't realize that I was smiling too until lissa said, "I cant believe you two are smiling. After all this."
Lissa was always the mother of our group.
Dimitri stood besides me with ivan, lissa didn't seem to notice them. Then suddenly a arm draped around my waist.
Was it Dimitri?
No… it was mason.
I was kinda disappointed.
Disappointed?
No.. I was not disappointed… I was just… thinking that it was dimitri's arm.
"chillax liss, rose slayed them. 2 kills she made today." He said.
I glanced at Dimitri from the corner of my eye. He looked angry.. more like jealous.
Jealous?
He cant be jealous.
maybe he was just angry about his extra training and early curfews.
"oooo rose the bad vampire slayer" Christian joked.
I glared at him.
These guys were 24… but still they act like kids.
Lissa chuckled too.
"shut up pyro." I said.
This time he glared at me.
He hates when I called him pyro.
I cleared my throat. "liss, chris.. this is ivan zeklos and Dimitri belikov." I said gesturing to the boys.
Lissa and ivan shook hands and Christian shook hands with Dimitri.
"none of em' got expelled I suppose?" Christian asked.
"nope" I replied. "im gonna mentor Dimitri… Kirova's orders."
"oh… so you are the guy that's stealing my bestfriend" lissa said giving Dimitri a death stare. We all laughed. Lissa can be a little possessive…
She took one glance at her watch "I think we should go, Im so exhausted!" lissa whined and clutched chris's arm. Me, Mase and Chris smiled at her childish behaviour.
"yeah tell me bout it… I havent slept properly in a week and today I thought I wont have stay awake cuz it was Mase's shift." I said and yawned.
I saw Dimitri giving me an apologetic look, I gave him a small smile.
Lissa hugged me once again and Christian gave me a small brotherly peck on my cheek.
Even though we irritate each other to death, I know we both absolutely cant live without each other's company. He is like a brother to me. all this week when I was busy with my work he had been so worried and always got me doughnuts.
They both walked away to their apartment. It wasn't far from the guardian wing.
"should I drop you off to ur apartment?" mason asked me.
"nah you just show ivan his room. I have to talk to Dimitri for a second" I said simply.
I turned towards the boys, before I could utter a word ivan hugged me.
I stiffened. But he gave me a bear hug.
"thank you for saving me and dimka" he said still hugging me.
He pulled back.
"thank you so much Ro- sorry, Guardian Hathaway Mazur. I mean Kirova looked like she was going to eat dimka alive! But thank you so god-damn much for saving his ass! You did us such a big favour. I want him to be my guardian when I graduate. But Kirova never liked that idea. Thank you so much for making Dimitri your student!" he rambled and kept on rambling.
Dimitri looked embarrassed. I guess everyone has their own lissa.
Dimitri made ivan stop, I tried my best not to laugh and this.
"first of all, call me rose. And second, I did not do any favours to you both. I know that Dimitri wants to be your guardian, and I know how it feels when someone tries to take away your chance of being a guardian. And third, I know Dimitri has skill. He just needs someone help him polish those."
I said smiling. "now Mr. Zeklos. I expect you to go to your room and sleep. And request you both not pull any more stunts that can affect your image at the academy, not for the first week atleast. And stay away from moroi gossip."
With that ivan and mason left leaving me and Dimitri alone….
Say something rose!
You cant just stand there and say nothing!
Just tell him about the mentor-student stuff. My mind said.
But he spoke first
"thank you for accepting me as your student. And sorry I shouted at you. That isnt like me. I just don't like when people call me wild…" he had sadness in his voice.
Maybe I upset him deeply.
"I know… you are not wild I had to say it to convince Kirova that I was on her side." I said smiling.
"and as for the mentor thing, I had to accept it… I mean I just couldn't let you get expelled!" Dimitri snapped his gaze on me. oh crap!
That wasn't suppose to come out with so much emotions!
"I- I mean-"
He interrupted me "ill never make you regret your decision. And If you think I said yes just to stay at the academy… I actually want to learn from you rose… I want to be as great as you. I mean ive spent only 20 minutes with you and I heard so much about you. Killing 3 strigoi at 16.. only a perfect guardian could do that."
His words made me smile. Like a big smile.
People always tell me how great and perfect I am for a 24 year old guardian. I never really liked listening to there "compliments" but it was different in Dimitri's case. His words were genuine and true. I melted-

" ill make you the best, belikov. That I can give you a guarantee on. But if you really want to be me. then you have to train. HARD. Covering 2 years of training is not easy Dimitri and your graduation is in 8 months. You have to be the best! Not just for Ivan. But for yourself. Your family!" I said
"I promise ill be. Whatever it takes." He said. "but are you sure I can cover 2 years of training?"
"yes you can. Only if you want to. Nothing's impossible Dimitri. But it is going to be hard." I replied curtly.
"how hard?"
"you will have pain after our sessions… it'll be more worse the next day. There will be a time where you wouldn't want to continue the training. You will feel suffocated when you wake up. Because im gonna train you so hard that you would you almost anything and everything to not come to training. You will not have any time for your homework. You will have to stop having fun. Because catching up from where you left is hard. Very hard." My voice was much more scary than I expected.
He gulped.
"but I think you can do it. I have faith in you" I said smiling.
DPOV-
She had faith in me.
Faith….
Not a lot of people said that to me.
Only my mama….
I had a chance… a fucking golden chance to get trained by the best guardian ive ever met.
I knew I had to take it… I should take it.
"I will…. I will do my best" I said
" I expect only the best from you Dimitri." She said
I nodded.
This girl…. Is something else.
An angel.
A fairy.
Every magical creature from my childrens' story book my mama used to read to me.
Strong.
Beautiful.
Brave.
Kind.
And absolutely amazing…
"cmon' let me walk to to your room." She said.
"isnt that the novice building over there?" I asked her pointing towards a tall building. "I used to live there"
"used to." She said simply and pointed towards a building which certainly wasn't there when I studied here. Asif reading my mind, rose said "that was built after you left. For special novices."
"special novices?" I asked
"the ones the moroi's request, to keep an eye on their moroi bestfriend… like you and ivan." She said.
We started walking side by side. The sun hit her face. She glowed.
She was so beautiful….
"so who requested for me?" I asked.
She took a moment to answer "I did…
I requested Kirova to give you a room there… its close to the ivan's room. You could check up on him from time to time"
I wanted to hug her so bad.
Like so bad.
"but only before curfew" she added.
I started laughing. She started laughing too.
Her laugh…
It was a melody.
I could listen her laughing all day.
We entered the building.
My room was on the first floor. We climbed up the stairs.
Rose took out a key from her pocket and unlocked the door.
The room was nice and cozy. It had a nice bed with good mattress in the middle, a wardrobe on the left side and a study table on the right. There was also a attached bathroom. Thank god.
It had white and silver detailing wallpaper all over the wall behind the bed.
"its nice… so better than the one I got when I was novice." Rose said.
I smiled at her.
I saw that my bags were already there.
"thank you for everything rose." I said
She smiled at me.
I was battling in my mind right now.
Should I do it?
I was hesitant a bit.. but then I stepped closer to rose.
Her eyes widened. She opened her mouth to say something but I hugged her.
And there were fireworks everywhere.
Her smell was intoxicating.
She smelled of jasmine and mint.
So fresh… and intoxicating.
To my surprise she hugged me back.
There was a jolt of electricity like every time. I wonder if she could feel it. It was like was skin was on fire. But I didn't want to pull away. It was a nice fire…
I pulled away a little. Her face was just inches away from my face…
Those eyes….
Those lips…
Why cant I control myself? Ive never drooled over a woman…
RPOV-
So close.
So close….
We were so close!
His head was tilted down mine was up.. looking at him.
Her hair…
His eyes…
Why is this happening to me?
He's my student. I cant- I shouldn't…
But it was such an amazing moment…
"2 pm sharp in the gym" I blurted out.
He looked puzzled. And to my disappointment, he pulled away.
"what?" he asked.
Way to go rose!
"your practise starts at 2 pm. Don't be late" I said in a stern guardian voice.
He looked somewhat hurt.
I shouldn't stay here longer.
"sleep for now." I instructed and walked out of my room. Walking- no running towards my apartment.
