Cid Kageno suddenly lets out a big dramatic yell as he was thrown to the side, skit across the dirt ground, and made a big splash when he landed inside the river water nearby, after a few gurgles and bubbles he popped his head out of the water
"Claire! You didn't have to push me in the river!"
Cid whines and cries at a older girl that was responsible for tossing him in the water, her name Claire Kageno, his older sibling, she lets out a huff as she sheathes her sword away
"Maybe if you grew stronger, you would've been able to withstand my attacks when we trained."
Claire sighs and shakes her head in disappointment, which made her younger sibling puff her cheeks and pout
"There's no way I can be as strong as you Sis, this is so unfair!..."
Cid complains, which only made his big sister cross her arms and glared at him
"Well you got to be, I will be leaving in about a week or so to become an Adventurer, I can't always be here to babysit you all the time."
Though when Claire said that, she couldn't help but wear a slight sadden expression, which her little brother couldn't help but notice, but it quickly left as soon as it came when she suddenly heard footsteps in the distance
"Are you both done with training for the day?"
The two Kageno siblings turn their heads and saw three maids standing before them, the one speaking to them seemed to be the eldest of the three, as she wore a black and white maid dress with some blue ribbons and metal plating, plus with some glasses and green gauntlets, her was Yuri Alpha, as the one who stood to her right, she also wore the same kind of dress, but with a more poofing lower half and having gold trims instead of blue ribbons, her name was Narberal Gamma, and as the one who stood at the right side was the shortest and probably youngest maid, her skirt was above the knee, with a metal back side dress, had long orange pink hair, and had a scarf and eye patch, her name was CZ Delta
"Hmph, please help him up and dry him off, I must return to my studies for what Guild I wish to apply at."
Claire then turns away and walks off, the three maids bow and did as they were told, soon the maids and their young master were at his room, stripped only to his boxers so that they could properly dry him off, Alpha and Gamma blush lightly while rubbing the towel on him, while the unreadable Delta just stood off to the side with a pair of clothes ready in hand
"M-Master Cid, Lord Demiurge requested an audience with you, he awaits in your office."
Yuri managed to compose herself enough to tell Kageno this, which suddenly turns off his clueless innocent 'Mob Act' and wears a face that shows a hidden darkness underneath
"I see, let him know that I will be there soon, CZ, call for a gate and have Solution, Entoma and Lupusregina be ready for my arrival, also Narberal give me my robe for now, no need to change into my 'Mob Clothes' at the moment."
Cid, who is now in his 'Lord Shadow' persona gave the three maids their orders on what now needs to be done, who nods and did as they were told, Alpha used [Message] to make contact, Delta moved some stuff aside and made room for a [Gate] that suddenly open before them, and Gamma just handed her Master the robe, who just grabs and held in his arm
"If my parents or sister ask where I am, just let them know that I'm either sleeping or studying."
Shadow said nothing more after that as he then walks in and through the portal, he was once in a bedroom made for a normal noble, but now he was in a bedroom made for a 'Supreme King'
"Welcome back, Lord Shadow, would you like your normal slime suit and silk undergarments?"
Inside the godly bedroom stood another three pair of maids, there was a beautiful curly blonde maid, that wore a more 'Revealing' uniform, her name was Solution Epsilon, a short maid who was both somehow creepy yet cute, plus with a obvious fake face and bug like hair, her name was Entoma Vasilissa Zeta, and lastly there was a tan redhead maid, who seemed to be hiding a pair of animal ears under her hat, her name was Lupusregina Beta, like the last three, they were ready to serve and do whatever is needed of them
"Yes."
Shadow nods yes to their offer, giving his robe to Beta before spreading out his arms, ready to be dressed up, Vasilissa Zeta was the first one to walk up to him, reaching her 'Hands?' to her mouth and pulled out a long strand of very fine silk, to which she then used to carefully yet very skillfully wrap around her Lord's body, giving him some kind of skin tight silk undergarments, after the bug maid was done with all that, Epsilon quickly ends the dress up by hugging her Master, which made her blush lewdly and made the other two maid jealous, and letting her body get all slimy and purposely started to drip all over him, Cid did not reject this nor push her away, in fact, once she was done and pulled away, he quickly release some of his magical aura and instantly gain full control of the slime that covered him, making it change color and turned it into a very stylish and dark piece of clothing, something fitting for the so called 'Eminence In Shadow'
"You have my thanks, Solution, Entoma, you both make the finest clothing worthy enough for me to wear."
Shadow moves around and made sure that everything fits and moves correctly, all the while giving his thanks and compliments to the ones that made it
"Welcome!~"
"Your praise is wasted on us~"
Both Solution and Entoma bows professionally, but in the inside, they're beyond happy to be so useful to their Lord and Master, young Kageno let's out a small hum in response as he then begins to walk away, though while doing so, he walked by Beta, who looked a bit upset to be less useful compared to Epsilon and Vasilissa Zeta, but said feeling quickly went away when he pets her on the head when walking by
"Good doggie."
Was all Shadow had to say to Beta, which made her blush and smile brightly, if she had a tail, it would be wagging happily, soon he was out of the bedroom and into a very big and fancy office room, where there lies the True Devil, the 7th Floor Guardian, the Mastermind Demon: Demiurge
"Forgive me for my tardiness."
Shadow walks to his desk and sits down on his kingly chair, all the while the Homunculus Maid, who stands beside him, pours a cup of tea and places a plate of snacks for him
"Visiting me at all is a great honor, and as your loyal servant, it's all that I can ask for."
Demiurge just politely bows in thankfulness, clearly he truly means what he says, which made Cid nod in acknowledgement as he picks up his cup and drinks from it
"So what reason do you have for speaking with me? Luckily I was free at the moment, but I dislike having my time wasted."
Shadow, while not being a evil or merciless Lord, did show a hint of stern and light harshness, though the demonic servant was able to stay cool when shown such expression, in fact he looked confident even, pulling out some document and place it on the desk
"I assure you, what I found will be worth your time."
Demiurge wore a sly smile as he watch his Master pick up the file and opened it up, there was a moment of silence between them as Kageno was reading through it carefully
'Welp, I don't understand shit, like I can read it but everything is so incredibly specific and detailed that it's hard to understand the main point of this document.'
Shadow mentally sigh, before closing the document and wore a expression that make it seem like he was in deep thought
'Can't look stupid in front of the devil, so it's time to bullshit my way out of this situation.'
"I shall praise you for your work, no doubt you worked hard to collect all this information, however, you added so much extra info that it's not worth my time analyzing, and like I said before, I dislike having my time wasted..."
Shadow felt a bit bad for bullying and discrediting the Floor Guardian, especially when he saw his silver tail suddenly droop sadly, but as to save face, and to be in character as the 'Shadow Broker', he it was necessary
"You're right! Even if it's good to have the necessary information, if I just simply add everything that I see and learn, then it would indeed be a waste of time!"
Demiurge couldn't help but tense up at his own limited foresight before suddenly kneeling in submission and forgiveness
"I Apologize For My Failure! Please Punish Me As You See Fit, I Will Even End My Own Life If That Would-"
Before Demiurge could continue acting like he was worthless and be sentence to death, his Lord suddenly raised up his hand and stop his overreacting display
"You did nothing wrong, any kind of info is good info, in fact, let me compliment you for such dedication towards me, I am very grateful to have you in my ranks."
Shadow showed just as much kindness and forgiveness as he would need when being unforgiving and rude, which definitely made the smart demon feel blessed and happy for such praise
"I am undeserving of such words."
Demiurge gave another thankful bow before slowly raising back to his feet
"For now, I shall keep this and reread it when I have the time, hopefully my words will help you on what you need to do next time."
Shadow decided to keep the document, it would be a waste to simply throw it away
"Any kind of wisdom that you waste on me will forever be appreciated, thank you my Lord."
Demiurge means what he said and made sure he would never forget what his Master has shared to him, with not much else to say, the Floor Guardian gave his farewell and decided to leave his Lord be, who just continue to drink the tea that his Homunculus Maid kept serving him, all the while wearing a deep thinking and thoughtful expression
'Hm… What kind of 'Eminence In Shadow' should I be?'
Shadow let's out a low hum as he puts down his tea cup and started to rub his chin, a question pop in his head and now he couldn't ignore it anymore
'Even if I was unable to understand the report that the devil guy gave me, I was able to get the basic ideas of it, 'Killing the innocent', 'Torture the helpless', and simply 'Take what belongs to Lord Shadow', I mean I know I'm slightly evil since I can still sleep even after killing some random bandits and criminals here and there, but I'm not a heartless monster.'
Shadow then gave a side glance to his maid, who was busy cleaning his desk
'But they are, and almost every single one hates human, with a few exceptions, in fact, I would've mostly been killed if it wasn't for me finding the ring, having immense power, and just being here at the right moment where they felt desperate and lonely after being abandoned by their so called 'Supreme Beings', though that makes me wonder on why they would ever leave them behind?...'
Shadow couldn't help but be slightly confused on why anyone would leave such a amazing home and such loyal people, though he just shakes his head and worried about that later
'Then again, being someone who lurks in the shadow but controls everything, that shit sounds fucking dope, I'll be like the that final boss that no one ever expected or even know that existed until only after.'
Shadow couldn't help but like the idea of being some kind of hidden enemy that watches and controls everything without anyone ever noticing, only to come out when the MC Hero think they've won and saved the day
'However, that would somewhat take away the fun of trying to hunt down and stop a super evil cult, since I would essentially be taking the place of said 'Super Evil Cult', which wouldn't be completely bad, but now I wouldn't have the chance to be someone who 'Lurks in the shadow and hunts the shadow', it would be such a miss opportunity.'
Shadow couldn't help but cross his arms and wore a slightly frustrated expression, which startled the Homunculus Maid, thinking she made a mistake and upsetted him in some way
'I can't be neutral, I can't settle for less nor be restricted to both sides of good and evil, I need to choose and stick with it.'
Shadow clench his fist and slowly let out some dark foreboding aura, which absolutely terrified the maid and started to bow down and beg for forgiveness
'But What Should I Choose?! What Should I Be?! What Kind Of Shadow Do I Want To Be?! The One That Hunts The Darkness, Or Is The Darkness?!'
Before Shadow could continue to get more frustrated with the choices he was giving himself, or let the maid commit suicide as she thinks she was responsible for letting her Lord get so upset, they were quickly interrupted by the front door opening, which stop them in what they were doing and looked to see who was coming in
"My Lord Shadow, one of our hidden sentrys has found a nearby camp that houses a big group of bandits!~"
The first one to enter the room and rushed to left side of Cid was Albedo, holding his arms and purposely pushing her body against him
"How about we go out again and hunt them down like last time, doesn't that sound fun?~"
The 2nd one to enter and end up at his right side was none other than Shalltear Bloodfallen, who also couldn't keep her hands off him, obviously they were doing anything that they can to both hangout out with their Lord, while not hiding the fact of wanting him in general
"Hm, might as well, my time is free at the moment, do you have your slime suit I made for you?"
Shadow stood up from his seat, while also letting the maid know to clean up the mess, much to her relief of not being disposed of, when he asked the question of the Vampire and Succubus having their slime clothes, they wasted no time changing into them and showing that they still had it
"We would never forget them!~"
Shalltear slime suit looked somewhat similar to her dress, but was obviously made for quick and easier movement, not to mention it having a different color and style that fits the theme of her Master, though for some reason her boobs look bigger than normal
"Every gift given by our Lord would never be thrown away or wasted, that we can promise you~"
As for Albedo, her slime suit was more skin tight and form fitting, it was full body and not like her dress, also the slime made her feathery wings like more like bat like wings, to which she folds and cover her body like some kind of small cloak or cape
"Excellent, then let's head out and punish our doomed trespasser."
Shadow smirks as he started to walk off and lead the way, all the while the two follow quickly behind him, very excited to spend time with him
'Well, I still have time I suppose, no need to decide if I want to be the 'Main Boss' or 'Hidden Hero' just yet, besides, I still need to train and surpass the power of nukes, even if they don't exist, I can't really ignore them either, a true Eminence In Shadow would never settle for less!~...'
With that in mind, Shadow decided to leave future problems to future him, focusing on his training and gaining more power, because without the might to even challenge the world, then he has no reason to even save or rule over said world
"... Maybe after this my Lord, we could celebrate our victory by being in your bed chambers tonight?~"
"Please stop asking to sleep with me already, I was already convinced and even promised to give you an heir when I'm 20 years old…"
"But Lord Shadow-!"
'One thing I'm sure I don't want to be is some kind of lame Harem MC who's a dumb pervert who's also oblivious…'
I will admit that the beginning is very unlikely, if you want my excuse on how he did this, well he found the ring of Nazarick so the tomb didn't automatically attack him and the tomb itself was turned off until he took a seat at the throne and did that magic stunt to both turn on the tomb and make it recognize him as the new guild master, of course all of this sounds beyond unlikely, but then there wouldn't be a story, so yeah, i hope you can forgive me on that and I will understand if you don't like or want to read this, twank u wuv u.
(Also here's some roles ideas for the Overlord characters, at the moment, like I said, just some basic ideas I have in mind, if you have any ideas or suggestions on how to use them, let me know I'm very open to hear them)
/New Roles For Nazarick\
Albedo and Shalltear: Whenever Cid goes out in his Shadow persona, he will always bring these two as his main guards and side kicks basically, of course some other servants like some assassin's and other monsters are included, but he would always bring them first.
(While Shadow hates the idea of the Harem MC trope, he was convinced to give them, along with any other characters in and out of Nazarick, a heir, he wants a legacy and a future of the 'Eminence In Shadow', who would either follow or rebel his ideals, though he wants to wait until his in his 20s, since he's still a young child)
Yuri, Narberal and CZ: Maids he needs for his Cid self, also they're in charge of protecting and looking after his family, this was possible thanks to some fake backstory of a former adventurer and slight mind control magic.
(If Cid decides to go Adventuring, he would bring CZ, since she doesn't stand out and is the most mob like)
Solution, Lupusregina and Entoma: Maids he needs for his Shadow self.
(He likes Solutions slime since it can conduct 100% of magic, he also uses Entoma silk for wire weapons and clothes to wear under his slime, and as for Lupusregina, he just likes petting dogs)
Demiurge: Is in charge of researching the entire world from the shadow's, doing underground deals, speaking with important allies in secret, and just being a cool hidden villain in general.
(If he goes Shadow Hero, he would like to die a fitting death where he's betrayed by Demiurge, who wants to take over the world, though it might not come due to his loyalty, but he could help)
Sebas: He's in charge of a chocolate and clothing shop, an idea from Cid so that they would always have a constant flow of money, it's also a place some of the maids from Nazarick work at.
(If he goes Shadow Villain, he would like to stopped and killed by Sebas, a Hero who always disagrees with the idea of evil Shadow, a dream come true for Cid, though the chances of that is unlikely due to his loyalty)
Cocytus: Since Shalltear would be busy following Shadow, Cocytus is in charge of making sure no one goes through the front entrance of Nazarick whenever she's away.
(Shadow likes to train with Cocytus whenever he has free time)
Aura and Mare: Cid can only see them as kids, so he just allows them to do whatever they like, maybe playing with them once in a while whenever he's bored and wants to kill some time.
(For whatever reason, if Shadow were to die and can't come back, he sees Aura and Mare as suitable replacement to continue on his work, or at the very least guide his future Heirs if he was able to make some before he dies, which is why he teaches everything that he knows about the Eminence In Shadow whenever he gets the chance)
Pandora: Cid thinks Pandora is cool and visits him for Acting and Style lessons.
(Also as an expert with weapons and items, he comes to him whenever he needs something involving such skills, that or whenever he needs a stunt double for whatever reason)
Bonus Characters: Besides the obvious inclusion of Claire, I might also include Alexia and Sherry, they would be Claire's friend and adventuring party, plus whatever characters they're associated with will also be included, like Alexia big sis or Sherry's dad for example, not everything will 100% be the same, but elements and ideas will be kept, though that's about it.
(Reminder this take place in the world of Overlord, so I don't want to add in to much stuff, would somewhat ruin the purpose of Cid ending up in a new world, but if you have some character that I simply can't ignore, then let me know)
