Klaus Pov

...

Luna lay beside me on the white sand, unlike her I was awake. I smiled as the dawn's edifying light played with her luscious curls. From one angle, you could see that the color was obviously dark brown but from another, there was a lighter tint to it.

A fiery orange hue encompassed the steadily rising sun. Fluffy clouds moved across the ever-lightening sky as the sea's azure tide crashed against the shore.

It was a peaceful scene, I was blessed to be a part of it.

Luna had begun to dose off once the stars shone their light down on us. I saw no point in waking her up,despite wanting to lay my lips upon hers again.

Everything felt real.

But alas, every brush of our lips...every timid touch...every word said between us had been done in this dreamscape.

I was on a beach, in Luna's head.

Entering her mind had taken quite an effort...more so than I expected. I was shocked I managed to get here, I surmised that because she was in a coma her mind was weakened to a certain extent.

In the real world, I was holding her hand, sitting in a chair by her side. Hayley would come in every so often to check on us but neither said a word. I was glad they left us uninterrupted.

My mind drifted off as I brushed her swarthy ringlets out of her face.

What would our families and friends think of this new development between us?

Nervousness crept up then...

What did Luna think?

I narrowed my eyes, hearing two sets of footsteps beginning to make their way toward Luna and I's direction.

Once I stood, I could see two figures...a man and a woman. With a startling realization, I recognized the couple to be Luna's parents. The man shared Luna's unique green and gray eyes, and high cheekbones. While the woman shared Luna's curvy figure, curly hair, and upturned nose.

Luna slowly sat up, I offered my hand to her and she took it without hesitation.

I smiled, reddening as she softly pecked my lips.

"Just who might this be, Luna?" An authoritative male voice inquired.

"This is Klaus Mikaelson," Luna said as she straightened the collar of my henley, grinning, "my boyfriend."

...

My heart jumped at the last bit she said.

Her Boyfriend.

That's who she addressed me as in front of the people who brought her into this world.

I had moved past the friend zone...Kol would be proud.

Smirking, I reached down to grab her hand. She briefly turned to face me, a dazzling smile plastered onto her face.

"Klaus, this is Jason, my father," she gestured to the man with her eyes. "And this is Madeline, my mother," her voice broke at the last word and she broke away from me to hug her parents.

Meanwhile, Jason only stared at me.

The hair on the back of my neck stood up, I would be lying if I said that I wasn't intimidated.

But despite my apprehensiveness, I stared back unflinchingly. Looking away would show fear.

"We're heading back to the cabin," Madeline announced in her syrupy voice. Luna bumped shoulders with her father before coming back to me.

"I think they like you," she said as we let her parents walk a few feet ahead of us.

I hummed not entirely sure what to say.

"Well, they don't know you well enough yet to make a conclusion," she corrected herself, her brows furrowing.

"And what if they don't approve?" I wondered aloud and she stopped in her tracks.

She blinked, her thick lashes fluttering. Her green and gray eyes shone with something I'd seen before...resolve.

"While I seek their approval, I won't let them choose for me... That goes for Hayley and anyone else."

I put a loose curl behind her ear, and her cheeks became rosy. My fingers itched for my paintbrush.

"And what exactly, love, is your decision?"

She bit down on her bottom lip once before responding. "That you are in my life...and you are here to stay."

I couldn't help but grin at her words.

Soon, we were following the footprints of her parents in the sand. A strong breeze struck up, it moved her hair around causing her pleasant, vanilla scent to permeate the air. Her polka dot sundress lifted and I averted my eyes.

"I'm sorry about that," she whispered, as we entered the porch of the small cabin.

"There's no need to apologize, love, you can't control the weather...or can you?"

She chuckled, reaching down and intertwining her fingers with mine. "Huh, I guess it depends..."

The feel of her hand in mine made everything we had been through worth it somehow. I wondered how things would play out once we eluded this dreamscape.

Once we entered the cabin I was in awe of its simplicity. Light fixtures dangled from the lofty ceilings. Small metal birds adorned the otherwise blank walls. Two simple cerulean blue love seats sat in the middle of the room.

Jason and Madeline were sitting on a sofa, so, Luna and I occupied the other across from it...still holding hands.

For a few moments, Madeline and Jason did nothing but smile at us. I didn't know what to think of Jason, I assumed he detested me but perhaps I was wrong.

"So, Klaus, what do you do for a living?"

"At the moment, my family is solving a few problems but usually I teach art classes to college students."

Luna looked over at me with a raised brow, I guess she hadn't known that. Then again with everything going on in the supernatural world, it was hard to talk about the normal one.

"That sounds interesting, what forms of art do you teach?" Jason asked as he leaned forward.

"Painting, occasionally I will trade it off for architecture."

"Speaking of school, Luna, do you plan to go?" Madeline inquired, and my girlfriend's mouth popped open. I found the surprise on her face to be adorable.

"I'm just not sure what I'd want to be...there are so many possibilities. One minute I think I want to be a teacher and in the next, I'm sold on being a forensic anthropologist."

Madeline placed a hand on her daughter's knee. "Don't worry, I'm sure when the time is right you'll choose what's best for you."

Luna and Madeline continued to talk about careers when the subject of 'keeping a balance' came up.

"Have you ever considered becoming the alpha of your pack? I know the idea of leading anyone is scary but I think you'd be a natural at it."

I scratched the back of my neck and chuckled nervously, "Have you been spying on me?"

"No... but I've been watching my daughter and you two are always in close proximity."

We both shared a laugh at that.

"She really loves you."

I glanced over at my girlfriend, she was laughing with her mother, completely oblivious to the conversation her father and I were having. She had never looked more beautiful than she did now.

An aura of happiness emanated from her, brushing away the cynical thoughts that lingered in the back of my mind.

"I love her too... though I doubt she realizes how much."

"They never do," Jason looked over at Madeline with fondness in his gaze.

"Is this the part where you tell me not to mess up?"

Jason's smile was infectious. "Yes and no."

The room began shaking; glasses shattered against the hardwood, and pictures in frames fell to the floor.

I tensed and brought Luna closer to me. "What's happening?" Luna asked her parents, seemingly startled.

A white glow stemmed from the foyer, the door's white glow was blinding.

Madeline and Jason smiled sadly as they spoke in unison.

"It's time to say goodbye."

...

Chris Pov

...

For the greater good my ass...

The Elders, my bosses were a group of pretentious whitelighters who advised and endeavored to control the forces of good.

My father walked up to me with a disgruntled expression on his face, he was not happy with me at the moment since I did just tell our bosses off.

"What in the hell were you thinking?" He angrily asked as we orbed back to the manor.

"No way am I going to give my sister up to those slimeballs. Wyatt would have agreed with me and you know it."

"It's not the best idea but it could work- -"

"Dad, just stop! It's not happening."

He sighed and I threw my hands up in the air, exasperated. I would not allow my little sister to be used as a weapon.

"Where are you going?" He asked as I conjured a bag from my room that I had packed weeks ago.

"I'm going to my sister, and you can tell Ramus I quit."

Before my father could say anything else I orbed to the Compond, my sister's room to be specific but she wasn't there.

This place was eerily quiet which worried me.

"Oh, Chris!"

I turned to see Elijah standing in the doorway to my sister's room. "You startled me."

Despite still feeling angry I chuckled. "Where is my sister?"

Elijah's facial expression shifted...changing to somber...

"We meant to call you and tell - -"

"Tell me what?" I tensed, the last time someone had said something like that Wyatt died.

"Your sister has fallen into a comatose state."

What the hell? I had only been gone for what I thought was two weeks but it felt like longer...

I was going to be around more often that was for sure, after all, I had just gave up my position on the whitelighter community. They couldn't just take my powers away since I had been born with them.

"Why wasn't I told?"

"We thought it would be best to keep you out of the loop," a voice said, and Hayley emerged on the other side of Elijah.

"Abbraxas paid us a visit and kicked our asses without so much as raising a hand. Luna tried to protect us by giving herself up and he pushed her off a building."

My heart picked up at those words, and I used my whitelighter senses to detect her presence.

She's in the sick room.

I orbed there, knowing it would be faster the running.

Luna lay still in a bed, wrapped in a quilt with Klaus at her side...holding her hand. His eyes were closed and his body was hunched forward like he was sleeping.

"How long has she been like this?" I questioned.

I approached the bed and placed my hands on the side of her face trying to heal her. "A couple weeks, my mother, Freya, Davina, and Vincent have had no luck waking her up with magic."

A soft golden glow emanated from my palms as I concentrated...

...

Words could not describe the joy I felt seeing her green and gray eyes fly open.

"Hey."

I began tearing up.

Luna's eyes widened, taking me in. "Chris... oh my god."

She sat up, hurriedly wrapping her arms around me. I winced, her tight hug taking me by surprise.

"I heard you had a little run-in with Abbraxas."

Luna tensed and pulled away from the hug, "About that..."

"Don't worry, I'll find a way to deal with him."

"No," a lightly accented voice said, and I turned to Klaus. "We will."

I grinned noticing his determination. I looked forward to working with him.

Luna hugged me around my middle again. "I'm just so happy you're here."

I laughed, feeling more at ease now that she had awakened. "I'm here to stay, little sister."

"Promise?"

I leaned down and softly kissed the top of her head.

"Promise."

...

While Luna cleaned up that gave Klaus, Elijah, Hayley, and I time to discuss everything that had transpired when I had been away. I was ready to meet this Castiel guy, he sounded strong enough to take on Abbraxas.

It hurt...hearing all that happened...I wasn't there then but I was here now...

"She's ecstatic that you are back," Hayley said, reclining back.

"Have you taken care of all that you needed to take care of?"

I nodded my head to Elijah's question. "I just quit the only job I've ever had so I won't be leaving now. I'm here to stay if you all don't mind."

Klaus titled his head to the side, "Luna needs her brother... I'm glad she has you here."

Hayley scoffed, "Am I not good enough, Klaus?"

He chuckled, "It's not like that, little wolf. Luna needs both of her siblings."

"Yeah, but I know she prefers me," I joked, causing Hayley to lightly punch me in the arm.

...

Luna had asked Elijah to gather everyone in the living room for some type of announcement.

Everyone in the compound was elated to see that she was awake. There were a few people I didn't recognize

"There's something that you all should know..." Luna trailed off, biting her lip before looking at Klaus.

"What is it, Jewel?" Kol asked, his brown eyes twinkling.

But Luna didn't answer right off, her eyes fell to the floor as blood rushed to her face.

"Um...I-I really don't know how to say this," she stumbled over her words, looking at the original hybrid.

Klaus silently took her face into his hands and - -

pressed his lips against hers.

A single thought ran through my mind over and over again.

No way.

Audible gasps could be heard, laughs, as well as a few whistles. When they broke apart, they met the eyes of everyone in the room.

Damon was the first to speak, "I take it this means that you two are together..."

They nodded, the both of them grinning from ear to ear.

Luna's father figure, Damon, stepped forward and whispered something in her ear making her laugh.

Beside me Hayley tensed, she didn't look like the happiest person in the room.

I groaned internally and nudged her shoulder with mine. "Hey, you don't have to love it but you still have to support her."

Hayley sighed, "You're right... I'll support her."

We shared a look before turning back to Luna and Klaus.

There was a brief spell of silence before - -

"It's about damn time!" Davina shouted.

A circle of friends and family formed around Klaus and Luna.

I was satisfied that my sister was happy, and for the most part...safe...

A/N: The next chapter will definitely be longer, and it should be out by next weekend :)
