A few months later...
Since the first class, a routine has been established. Abraxas accompanies me to every class, I sit next to Tom. I feel like his trophy. It might have been useful if only Tom Riddle had spoken or given me some clue, but it would have been an underestimation of him to imagine that such an intelligent young man would do so. He has a real intelligence but this one looks so dark, so dark it's intriguing, I understand that many girls are after him even if he doesn't seem interested in them unlike his henchmen. In reality, there is very little that interests Tom Jedusor other than himself and the books in the storeroom, and Helen knew that it would be difficult to keep up with him, but she had the unique opportunity of having had a magical education from one of the greatest wizards, her godfather. He had taught her at the age of 13 to transform herself into an animagus. In her animal form, she knew that she could be incognito... a cat could very well wander through the corridors of the castle.
She was alone in the hallway on the 7th floor, she transformed into a cat, her coat was black, you could see brown reflections in it when she passed under the torches. She ran down the corridors and went to the library stockroom and climbed to the top of a shelf, rolled into a ball and waited for Tom.
She saw Tom arrive after an hour, he stood in front of a shelf and raised his wand to cast a revelio. A book appeared, or at least one of the books changed, the cover became darker. Tom sat down on the floor and picked up the book, Helen slowly moved over Tom to read the cover of the book, it read "Souls and Dark Magic". Helen knew that most Slytherins and purebloods practise dark magic but she found the title of this book even darker than she could have imagined at other times. She couldn't read the contents of the page that seemed to interest the young Slytherin. She jumped off the shelf and stood next to him and rubbed her leg. Tom watched the cat, he usually hated animals, but this one strangely did not bother him. He even stroked its head and patted it on the stomach. Helen jumped on her legs and looked furtively at the book, only one word caught her attention... Horcrux.
She could sense that the word was not good, she had to tell her godfather. She jumped off Tom's lap and ran out of the storeroom. Riddle thought the cat was strange, he even had the impression that it was reading his book which must be absurd and he knew all the animagi in the school, nothing could be hidden from him, he thought how stupid his idea must be and went back to his dark reading.
Hélène soon arrived in front of her godfather's flat and knocked on his door. Albus knew those little claws, he opened the door and invited the cat into his living room. The living room of the future headmaster's flat had burgundy walls, red curtains with embroidered gold lions, and ebony furniture. Helen climbed into her godfather's chair and transformed herself into a human and looked at her godfather with some fear.
-" What's going on, my dear? You look worried..."
-" I followed our basilisk into the storeroom. "
- "How... access is forbidden. I can only think of one person to give him permission, and that can only be Slugorn. What's troubling you about this story, he's never been suspicious of reading at Hogwarts unless it's the subject of the reading that's troubling you."
-" Godfather what is a Horcrux? Our friend seems to be interested..." Dumbledore was flabbergasted at his mentee's question, he never imagined that the boy's soul could be so dark.
