Updated the last chapter to include a scene I had originally planned for it, but forgot about. You need to re read the last chapter to make a certain scene make since in this chapter.
The camera opens up on Chris standing in front of the assembled campers, gathered in front of the small, crummy beach that the island offered.
"For you're next challenge, it's the age old summer camp tradition of canoeing.", said Chris, as Chef rolled a TV screen near him.
The TV screen flickered on to reveal a map of a totally different island. "You will canoe to the remote and dangerous... Boney Island!!!!!"
Most of the campers rolled their eyes at Chris' dramatic flair.
"Once you actually survive the thick jungles of Boney Island, you will portage your way to the other end of the island.", continued Chris.
"Um, por-what?", said Geoff.
"You know, portage."
Geoff gave a completely blank face to the host, as a fly flew in one ear and out the other.
"It means carry your canoes through the island.", said Chris, irritably. "Once you make it to the other side, you will make a signal fire for rescue, judged by me. Once I deem your signal fire strong enough, I'll give you the go ahead to head back to camp. First team back wins."
Chris paused for a second. "Yeah, that means go!", he said, as the campers started a mad dash to get a canoe.
Once every camper was gone, Beth suddenly appeared. "What's the challenge?", she said, trailing a piece of toilet paper behind her.
"Uh, canoes.", said Chris, jerking a thumb behind him. Beth an off to join her compatriots.
Cut to a multitude of canoes on the beach; green on the left for the Gophers, and red on the right for the Bass.
As the Gophers made their way down the small wooden stairs leading to the sand beach, Trent walked up to Gwen.
"So, how about we share a canoe together?", said Trent, making Gwen blush.
"Well, that would be...", began Gwen, before Lindsay and Beth ran up to Trent, grabbing his arms in a power grip.
"C'mon, Trent, you've got to come with us in the three-person canoe.", said Lindsay, as she and her alliance mate steered Trent away from Gwen.
Gwen looked back to Heather, who was whistling nonchalantly.
(Heather): What? Relationships and friendships are just another way of saying alliance on these shows.
Cody and Noah walked up behind a glaring Gwen. "Hey, Noah, want to share a canoe?", said the former.
Noah was about to reply, when Heather appeared at Noah's side. "Actually, Noah here is coming with me.", she said, cryptically, steering the brainiac to a canoe.
Cody and Gwen looked confused at this, until Cody looked over at a now partner-less Gwen.
"So, Gwen, how about we... canoe together.", he said, draping his arm around Gwen's shoulders.
Seconds later, Cody's arm was behind his back in a vice like grip. Gwen looked around, saw that every Gopher was taken, then released Cody.
"Just... keep quiet.", said Gwen, walking away with a sour look, as Cody rubbed his sore arm.
Meanwhile, on the Bass' side of the beach, the team was looking over the canoes.
"It looks like one of the canoes needs three people.", said Courtney. "Who wants it?"
"Me, Harold, and Zeke will take it.", said Duncan, quickly. At everyone's confused glances, Duncan said, "I need two nerds to do all the work for me."
"So, that just leaves Katie and Sadie in another canoe, obviously, and Geoff and DJ, are you all right with teaming up?", continued Courtney.
DJ and Geoff high-fived in reply.
"Good.", said Courtney "That just leaves..."
She turned in tandem to Eva. "Oh, c'mon!!!", they both yelped at the same time.
Cut to all the campers ready to push their canoes in the water.
Chris walked up, drew a starter pistol, and shot in the air. Th teams all pushed their canoes into the lake, and paddled away.
Chris was about to head back when an American bald eagle ell from the sky, dead.
"Oh.", said Chris, scratching his head. "That's going to provoke some angry e-mails."
Cut to the Bass rowing through the water in their red canoes.
Courtney and Eva are, predictably, bickering yet again.
"Who taught you how to row a canoe?", said Courtney.
"At least, I'm actually trying to row, instead of whatever it is you're doing!", yelled back Eva.
The arguing faded into the background, as the camera panned to Duncan, Harold, and Ezekiel in their longer canoe.
Duncan glared at the two girls, before turning towards his alliance mates.
"So, did Harold, tell you my little... proposition?", said Duncan to the homeschooled kid.
"We vote off Eva and Courtney as soon as possible, so there is less arguments in the team.", rattled off Ezekiel.
"Good. Now, I can convince Geoff and DJ to vote our way in any elimination ceremony, you guys try to convince Katie and Sadie. That shouldn't be too hard. They share a room with Eva and Courtney."
Duncan put his hand out. "Are we all agreed?" Harold and Ezekiel quickly put their hands over Duncan's.
Panning to the right, we see Katie and Sadie's canoe.
Sadie has a thoughtful expression on her face, and is barely paddling.
"Sadie, a little help here?", said Katie, visibly sweating with the exertion of paddling the canoe from the back.
"Oh, sorry, I was just thinking about something.", said Sadie, apologetically.
"Wait a minute, I know that look.", said Katie, smiling. "You're thinking of a guy, aren't you?"
"Maybe.", said Sadie, evasively... before dropping the act entirely. "OK, yes!"
"Tell me, tell me, tell me. Oh, is it someone on the show with us."
Sadie sighed dejectedly. "Promise you won't laugh?"
Katie nodded her head vigorously.
"OK, it's... Ezekiel."
"What? That misogynistic hillbilly? Are you serious?"
"I don't even know how I feel about the whole thing. He just came up to me at the end of the fear challenge, and congratulated me. I could tell he wanted to... know me."
As Katie and Sadie discussed Ezekiel, the camera panned to Geoff and DJ's canoe.
DJ was habitually checking all around the small canoe. "Hey, you're sure this thing won't capsize?"
"Relax, dude, it won't."
DJ still looked unsure. "So, how are you doing now that Bridgette is gone?"
"Oh, at first I was pretty crummy. Then, I thought about what you said in the camping challenge, and I thought: I'm going to win this, then ask Bridgette out on a date!"
"That's the spirit, Geoff!", said DJ, giving him the thumbs up.
Cut to the Gophers paddling through the water as well.
At the three-man canoe, Lindsay winked to Beth, then leaned back into Trent's lap. "You don't mind if I work on my tan, do you?"
"I don't mind at all.", replied Trent, with a rakish grin.
Over at Gwen and Cody's canoe, Gwen was staring at Trent with nervousness.
"So, do you think when this is all over, you'd go see a movie with me?", said Cody, interrupting Gwen's thoughts.
Gwen glared at him. "No.", she said, simply.
"Look, I know you kind-of blame me for Leshawna being voted off.", said Cody, sighing.
"What do you mean?", said Gwen.
"You know, how she was eliminated instead of me, even thoughI really should've gone home. Trust me, I had nothing to do with Leshawna's elimination."
"Well, how did she get eliminated then?"
"I have no idea. Noah and me are friends, so he just said we should vote for Leshawna, so we did. That's all I know."
Gwen looked thoughtful, before Cody interrupted her thinking again. "Hey, where did all this fog come from?"
Gwen looked around. There was indeed a heavy fog creeping up from seemingly nowhere.
All the campers looked up to see al argue island coming up... an island with a cliff face shaped like a human skull.
Soon, both the Gophers and the Bass were standing on Boney Island's beach, staring into the coniferous jungle that inhabited it.
A long pause of staring occurred, each team waiting for the other to make a move.
Eva broke the silence. "Well, what are we waiting for? An engraved invitation? Let's go!"
The Bass quickly picked up their canoes, and ran off into the forest.
"C'mon, they're beating us!", said Heather, as the Gophers followed suit.
Soon, both teams were running with their canoes through the forest.
Suddenly, a rustling from some nearby bushes interrupted the chase.
The Gophers paused to look at the bushes. Suddenly, mammoth-sized beavers stuck their heads out from behind the flora. They had razor sharp tusks, and a hungry look in their eyes.
"Monster... beavers!!!", managed Cody, as the Gophers were chased by the beavers.
The Gophers passed a grizzly bear, rubbing its back against a tree. The bear stared at the chasing beavers, then put on its glasses.
Hard forest floor gave way to muddy, murky ground, as the Gophers were chased against a cliff face.
The beavers glared at the team, but seemed to dare not come closer. They turned tail and fled.
"Hey, what's wrong, beavers?", said Trent. "Can't handle a little soggy ground?"
The Gophers all laughed... laughter that quickly died down when several pterodactyl-like geese poked their heads out from among patches of straw nests.
Soon, the Gophers were racing past the same glasses-wearing bear. The bear took one look at the mutant geese, then snapped his glasses in two.
As the geese gained on the Gophers, Cody said, "Wait, I have an idea!"
From practically thin air, he pulled a sleeve of white bread.
"Where did that come from?", said Gwen.
"I was going to have us a romantic picnic.", Cody said sheepishly.
"With bread from your pants?!"
Cody threw the bread towards the geese. The sleeve ripped open, scattering whole bread and crumbs alike on the ground.
Predictably, the geese stopped to peck at the treats.
The camera cuts to further into the journey to the other side of Boney Island.
The Killer Bass are walking alone in the woods, looking nervously about at the dark shapes made by the forest.
Soon, they come to a fork in the road.
"Let's go left.", demanded Courtney, right as Eva herself said, "Let's go right."
Another argument was about to start, when Harold got between the two.
"Let's just decide to go to the right, please.", he practically commanded.
The other Bass followed his decision, heading down the right path. It was only after glaring at each other for a minute or two that Courtney and Eva finally said in tandem, "Fine."
A few seconds later, the Bass had disappeared down the right path. Minutes go by, and the Gophers appear.
They all look from the left to the right path. "Which way do we go?", said Trent.
"Uh... left!", blurted out Lindsay. Everyone stared at her.
"Why left?", said Beth.
Lindsay shrugged and made a noncommittal noise. She then began to play with her hair, as the Gophers looked at each other.
Cut to the Bass continuing on the right path.
Suddenly, Geoff yelped in pain, and fell to the ground. Groaning in agony, he clutched at his leg.
"What happened!?", yelled out Courtney, looking down at Geoff.
"Give the man some room!", said DJ, backing everyone away.
Geoff moved his arm slightly, revealing the world's tiniest splinter embedded in his leg.
Harold gasped with his raspy voice, while Katie struggled to hold in puke.
Eva walked up, and examined Geoff's splinter. "It's just a splinter.", she said.
"Just a splinter? He's hideously deformed, eh?", said Ezekiel.
Eva looked incredibly confused by all this, as Courtney sad, "Don't worry, Geoff, we'll get you medical treatment when we get back to camp."
Soon, Geoff was hoisted on top of DJ's canoe, and carried on through the woods.
Eva, who was still rooted to her spot, began trudging to keep up with her teammates. "Guys? Guys, what... what's going on?"
Back with the Gophers, the team has apparently decided to take Lindsay's 'advice'.
Trent was in the lead, carrying his canoe with Lindsay and Beth. A squelching noise alerted Trent to the ground he was walking on.
"Um, guys, I'm sinking!", said Trent, as he realized he had stepped in quicksand.
"What's quicksand doing in Muskoka?", said Beth.
(Chris): (holding up a pail of quicksand) Just goes to show you that you should always look where you step.
"Don't worry, Travis, I'll save you!", said Lindsay, leaping into the quicksand.
"Whoops, sorry Travis.", said Lindsay, as she realized she was stuck as well.
"It's Trent."
As Cody spotted a nearby vine hanging off a tree, Heather grabbed Noah's arm and pulled him into the woods.
"Wow, getting me alone with you again.", said Noah, once they were hidden away in the darkness. "One would almost think you have a crush on me."
"Don't flatter yourself, geek.", said Heather, indignant. "I want to discuss who we're going to eliminate next time we lose."
"Next time? What, are you just throwing challenges left and right?"
"Enough with the snarky comments for once, Noah. I'm thinking we eliminate... Gwen."
"Why? She does well in challenges, and doesn't bother anyone."
"She bothers me! Besides, she didn't even try in the talent show."
Noah rolled his eyes. "You truly got me there. OK, we'll eliminate Gwen first chance we get."
"Good." She shook Noah's hand once more.
Heather and Noah soon walked back on the path. Gwen, who was watching Trent, Lindsay, and Cody wipe off the quicksand from their bodies, looked back at them. She narrowed her eyes.
Later, Trent was brushing away foliage to reveal the beach on the other side of Boney Island.
"Finally, we made it.", said Beth.
They looked to their right, and saw an unpleasant sight: the Bass were already here, and building a sizable pile of sticks.
The sounds of a helicopter blades appeared, as sand was whipped around the Gophers.
They looked up to see Chris in a fancy helicopter peering down at them. "Screaming Gophers!", yelled Chris through a megaphone. "You're about fifteen minutes late. Get started!"
The helicopter flew to a more safer distance, as the campers goggled at it.
Heather was the first to break the spell. "Well, you heard him. Get to work!" The Gophers scattered about to pick up any sizable sticks they could find.
Cut to Geoff dragging him self through the sand, carrying a small twig towards the fire pit.
Eva walks by, carrying a larger pile, then drops them in disgust. "All right, you guys are punking me, right?"
"What's the matter with you, Eva? Can't you see he's in pain? Gosh!", said Harold.
"Yeah, you need to learn to be more considerate of others, little miss Eva.", said Courtney, in a mocking sing song voice.
"I am the most considerate person I know.", yelled out Eva, raising her fist. "And I've just about had enough of you, princess!"
As Courtney and Eva's bickering started again, the camera panned over towards the Gophers.
Cody is leaning against a rock, speaking to Trent. "... so I think you've it a decent chance with her.", finished Cody.
"Wow, thanks, you're the best, man.", said Trent, gratefully, walking away.
Once he was gone, Cody spotted Noah walking towards him. He waved at him to come closer.
Noah waved back, but raised a eyebrow when Gwen suddenly appeared and whispered in Cody's ear.
Once Gwen was gone, Noah walked up to Cody. "What was that about?"
"Oh, that... nothing.", said Cody, only for Noah to look completely unconvinced. "OK, she was just telling me that you were spending a lot of time with Heather. Something that I was wondering as well."
Noah didn't miss a beat. "She thinks I've stolen one of things, and keeps hounding me for it. I've tried t tell her I don't have it, but she doesn't believe me."
Cody rubbed the back of his head and looked down. "Oh, uh, sorry. What was it that she thought you sole?"
He looked up, only to see that Noah had walked off.
"How did they get it started so fast?" Heather's voice cut in to Cody's thoughts, as she looked at the Bass' signal fire.
In response, Duncan picked out a lighter from his pocket, and clicked it on.
"Nothing in the rules about not using lighters.", said Chris from up above.
"Noah, you have Boy Scout training; help us out!", demanded Heather.
"Fine, fine, keep your panties on.", said Noah. He walked to their pile of sticks, and began rubbing the end of one stick against another.
Ten minutes later, the Gophers had a pretty sizable fire... much bigger than the Bass'.
"C'mon, you guys, we've got to make our fire bigger!", said Courtney, visibly panicking.
She wasn't the only one; Harold was also looking pretty agitated. He looked left and right for anymore wood, saw a large pile near the canoes, grabbed them, and threw them into the fire.
Now, the fire was the same size as the Gophers', except...
"Great work, nerd!", said Eva, hoisting Harold up by the scruff of his shirt. "What are we going to do now?"
Up in the helicopter, Chris shrugged. "Eh.", he grunted, then pulled out his megaphone. "Gophers, Bass, you both can go."
The Gophers ran to their canoes and oars.
"Well, that's certainly helpful...", began Courtney, looking uncommonly calm. She then turned to Harold, and yelled, "If only we had paddles!!!"
Soon, the Gophers were shipping off from the island.
Back at Camp Wawanawkwa, the Gophers had won by a country mile.
Chris had finally deigned to send Chef to pick up the Bass, and they were all in their cabin.
The shouting from the girls' side was becoming unbearable. Eva and Courtney had been going at it ever since they came back.
"Would you put your dirty underwear somewhere that's not the floor?", yelled out Courtney.
Katie and Sadie, covering their ears, finally walked out of the girls' side.
Cut to behind the building, where Duncan, Ezekiel, and Harold are hiding.
"OK, so we all vote either Courtney or Eva off tonight. I'll convince DJ and Geoff, you guys try to convince Katie and Sadie. Got it?", whispered Duncan.
"Got it.", said Harold.
"But, which one do we vote off, eh?", asked Ezekiel.
"Well, they're both equally annoying.", pondered Duncan. "Let's see... how about we all vote..."
Cut to the campfire ceremony later that night. Geoff (who has his leg propped up on a nearby stump), Harold, Courtney, and Eva are the final four of the Bass.
"Now, you all have very good reasons for being in the bottom four.", explained Chris.
"I don't!", said Courtney, indignantly.
"Of course not!", said Chris, sarcasm dripping from his every word. "You just annoy everyone with your constant arguing."
Courtney couldn't help herself: she stuck out her tongue at Chris.
"Lovely.", snarked Chris. "Anyway, the next marshmallow goes to... Geoff!"
Geoff smiled, picked up a pair of crutches, and hobbled pass Eva, who rolled her eyes.
"The penultimate marshmallow goes to...
... Harold!"
"Wait, what!?", yelled out both Eva and Courtney.
Before another fight could escalate, Chris quickly said, "And the final marshmallow goes to... Eva! Courtney, you are out of here!"
"What?!?!?!", said Courtney, as Eva began laughing in both relief and wickedness.
"This... this has to be a mistake, right?!", grasped Courtney.
"Nope. Seven votes don't lie.", said Chris, before clapping his hands.
Chef appeared, and he and Chris grabbed Courtney's arms.
Cut to Courtney being visibly dragged to the boat of losers, yelling all sorts of threats at Eva, her team, Eva, the show, Eva, Eva, etc.
Finally, she was tossed into the boat.
"Buh-bye, Courtney.", said Eva, blowing a mocking kiss.
Courtney responded by picking up a harpoon from the boat, and hurling at the bodybuilder.
Eva ducks just in time. "Touchy.", she growled, heading back to her cabin.
Teas
Screaming Gophers: Beth, Gwen, Lindsay, Heather, Trent, Noah, and Cody
Killer Bass: DJ, Geoff, Duncan, Harold, Katie, Sadie, Ezekiel, and Eva
Eliminated: Owen, Izzy, Tyler, Bridgette, Justin, Leshawna, and Courtney
Votes
Courtney (7)
Harold (1)
Geoff (1)
I debated including Geoff's injury in this chapter, because it was heavily implied he was just faking to get Bridgette's attention.
However, everyone treated it so seriously in canon, so I included it, but with the added twist of Eva being the only sane man.
