Yuri had managed to free several of the men, unfortunately there were a few casualties. Returning to the shrine she stood next to Genkai as the group was about to enter the shrine.
"This is the tournament ground."
Everyone walked in to see it was total darkness causing Yusuke and Kuwabara to freak out.
"Pitch Darkness!"
"Can't see a thing!"
Genkai smirked as Yuri's eyes changed to see in the dark.
"The preliminaries requires you to determine where the opponent is with your Reiki in darkness. Weapons are okay, as long as you defeat your opponent and return."
Yuri handed Genkai her notebook with the match ups she had made based on everyone's results.
"He who defeats his opponent and returns, wins!"
The man named Kuroda spoke up.
"Just one thing. I'm telling you beforehand that I specialize in killing people. Whoever I face shall receive no mercy!"
Yuri rolled her eyes at the cocky human.
"I've said it, this is a real battle! Whoever's afraid of dying has fled before the third test began!"
Genkai replied. Kuroda spoke again.
"Oh! And one more thing. If I win, surely you won't say the secret's inaccessible to a killer?"
Yuri rolled her eyes. The ones that talk the most are usually the ones that die first.
"Whatever status the person has, I only pass on the skill to the one who is deserving. Even if the other is someone extremely evil."
Annoyance was becoming evident in Genkai's voice. Yuri took that as her cue to announce the first match up, using her Reiki she changed her voice so Yusuke and Kuwabara wouldn't recognize her.
"The first round is. Kuroda versus Fuwan!"
The sounds of fighting could be heard as Yuri watched the fight with expert eyes, smirking when Fuwan disintegrated Kuroda with his spirit energy blast. As Botan appeared to educate Yusuke on what Fuwan had used, Yuri announced the next fight.
"The second round is. Shorin versus Kataka!"
The round was over within a few minutes as Shorin walked back.
"The third round is Kuwabara versus Bura!"
Yuri's tail twitched as she watched the pair walk off. As soon as they reached the center of the room Bura punched Kuwabara, sending him to the ground before disappearing into the darkness. Come on Kuwabara. Don't die in here. Kuwabara kept getting punched as Bura kept masking his Reiki. Suddenly Bura pulled out a wooden sword. That's not good. Bura hit Kuwabara with enough force that it sent him off his feet. Yuri's ears went back as she frowned at the fight. Kuwabara stood back up and managed to grab a piece of the wooden sword that had broken off. Bura attempted to hit Kuwabara again only for Kuwabara to form a sword with his Reiki to block the blow before sending Bura flying.
"Winner, Kuwabara!"
Yuri announced happily as the teenager walked back over.
"Last fight, Getsuno versus Urameshi!"
Yuri announced as Yusuke and Botan congratulated Kuwabara on his win.
With a heavy sigh she turned to watch the fight as Getsuno taunted Yusuke before punching him, Yuri fought back a growl at the helmet Getsuno was wearing that blocked his senses. With every punch and kick Yusuke received, Yuri flinched slightly until Botan stood next to her and talked quietly so the humans wouldn't overhear.
"I thought Koenma was joking when he said you would be here."
Yuri smirked.
"Genkai requested my assistance and I wasn't going to turn her down."
The pair paused in their conversation as Getsuno used his Rei to increase the size of his arm and close-lined Yusuke.
"Why are you in your true form? Does Koenma know?"
Yuri smirked again at the question.
"Of course he knows, Genkai has given me permission so I can use my abilities without hindrance. Any human with a low Rei will only see me as human."
Botan stopped her questioning when Yusuke managed to win the fight.
"Winner, Urameshi!"
Yuri announced excitedly before sighing and handing her notebook back to Genkai to announce the semi finals while she went to move the bodies out of the shrine. After the gruesome task was done and the bodies were left in the forest, she took off to the field she knew the semi finals and finals were to be held. Reaching the field, her body humming with the energy in the field she sighed as Yusuke took a hit from one of the exploding shurikens, quickly jumping up he ran at Fuwan just as he was about to reach him he disappeared as Fuwan was hit with his own attack. Kuwabara ran over to see Yusuke had fallen into a hole and dragged him out.
"So you were hiding here all along?" Kuwabara teased.
"I wasn't hiding! I dropped into it! But did I win because of that?"
Yusuke asked, confused as Yuri smiled under her mask.
"Winner, Urameshi!"
Yuri announced before looking over at Kuwabara and Shorin getting a bad feeling she knew who Randou was hiding as. With a heavy sigh Yuri waited until the two fighters were facing each other before yelling BEGIN and moving out of the way as Kuwabara ran over and punched Shorin saying something about the winner strikes first. Shorin flew back a few feet and sat up grabbing his cheek.
"That hurts! What a powerful punch! Totally out of my expectations."
Kuwabara scratched his head confused.
"Hey! I was only trying something out. Are you okay?"
Shorin got to his feet.
"I'm going in for real now."
Before he ran at Kuwabara and started throwing punches only for Kuwabara to dodge out of the way.
He's holding up well but this fight is far from over.
Yuri thought as Kuwabarra finally had enough and punched Shoriin again making him fall to the ground again. Botan walked over to Yuri and whispered again.
"What do you think?"
Yuri glanced at her.
"He's testing Kuwabara, I'm afraid this fight is about to be one-sided."
As if on cue Shorin took a stance and his Reiki started to give off a different feeling. Not quite demon but not entirely human.
"Looks like I gotta use my fatality now!"
He stated before forming a flame in both his hands calling it Fire Explosion in the Palm before throwing the fireballs at Kuwabara who dodged and formed his spirit sword again calling it Sword of the First Batter in the Team, using it to hit the fireballs like baseballs back at Shorin hitting him square in the chest. As Shorin got up he took a different stance and started muttering.
"That chant and Fire Explosion in the palm. They were all the lifetime creations of several highly skilled Pugilists previously. Rumor has it that they were killed by a demon, who then seized their special powers."
Yuri growled as it dawned on Yusuke what was going on and Kuwabara made the mistake of rushing at Shorin only to be shrunk down to the size of an action figure. Shorin tried to step on Kuwabara and Yuri looked at Genkai.
"I think this fight is over. Do you want me to end it?"
Genkai watched as Shorin picked up Kuwabara and Shorin broke his arm.
"Yes."
Yuri nodded and held her hand up.
"Winner, Shorin!"
Yuri announced as Shorin started squeezing Kuwabara causing Yuri to rush forward to stop the fight.
"I'll return him to you!"
Shorin went to throw Kuwabara only for Yuri to create a barrier around him so he landed softly on the ground.
"Return the human to his normal size now."
The unspoken threat was obvious as Shorin quickly chanted and Kuwabara returned to his normal size. With a simple nod Yuri walked over to the human as Botan was finding all of his injuries.
"Sockets on both hands are shattered, and his left leg and left hip bone are both…His hands will probably never recover."
Yuri focused on healing the human as Yusuke started the last match. With her eyes closed and her ears down she solely focused on healing Kuwabara. After a few minutes Kuwabara was fully healed and Yuri turned back to the fight to see Yusuke hanging upside down in a tree over the swamp.
"That's not good."
Just like that some demon fish appeared trying to jump at Yusuke and Randou pointed and shot the spirit gun barely missing Yusuke.
"I love to hear the noises humans make when they're being eaten alive."
And with that he shot the spirit gun again, dropping Yusuke into the water. As he hit the water Yuri put her hands together and a ball of white energy appeared from her body and entered the water.
"Yuri, what are you doing?"
Botan questioned while Yuri continued to concentrate.
"I'm not letting my cousin die."
She said with conviction in her voice before there was a small explosion in the water and the demon fish shot out cut in half and Yusuke appeared on the other side of Randou before punching him. As Yuri released her hands the white ball formed out of Yusuke and returned to her as she sighed. Randou jumped back up and punched Yusuke, laying him out on the ground.
Randou had enough of the fight and started the same chant he had used on Kuwabara only for it to backfire as he shrunk. Yusuke rolled over and elbowed Randou in the face, knocking him out before he could use the chant again.
"The one to inherit the secret skill has been decided! And he's Urameshi Yusuke!"
Genkai announced as Yuri smiled and handed Randou to Botan.
"You should get this filth back to Spirit World."
Botan agreed as Yusuke celebrated.
"All Right! Mission accomplished! Now I can go for my World Wrestling Federation Tokyo Royal Rumble isn't it?"
Genkai looked at him.
"What are you babbling about?"
Yusuke looked confused.
"Yusuke, didn't I tell you I'll be passing you the secret technique? I'm going to teach you the proper basics for the Reikohadouken. So you'll be staying here for the time being."
Yuri giggled as Yusuke yelled.
"What did you say?"
