In the now-open cavern, Maeral basked in the glow of the golden torrent of fire before him. The flames reflected in his crazed eyes.
"Haha, Hahaha. Is that all there is thin blood? Is this all that those from our "homeland" can muster? Hahaha."
The Dread Prince said as he continued to laugh wildly.
"Evunial!!"
Izunia screamed out as she took a step forward toward the pillar of flame.
Just then Novem's voice rang out.
"Enough games Maeral! His Life Energy is almost depleted! We Finish him now!!!"
{Triplet Magic}
{Maximize Magic}
{Call Greater Thunder}
Izunia stopped her advance as an enormous thunderbolt fused from multiple strands of lightning ripped through the flame piercing its center with a deafening explosion.
Izunia and her mother brought their hands up in defense as dust and debris flew past them and the golden flames raged on.
As the dust cleared she saw Mareal leap back a fair distance from the flames. He then fully drew his bow as he stepped back into a low stance as power radiated from his arrow.
Maeral's muscles pulsed and writhed unnaturally as he pulled back on his bow even more.
Maeral squinted as he looked into the flame and found the burning silhouette of Evunial.
"What a disappointment..."
《True Zepher Strike》
All sound seemed to be sucked away as wind spiraled around the arrow to a white-hot speed before Maeral loosed it.
The attack then ripped through the air and collided with the pillar of flame as another bolt of lightning struck releasing an even greater explosion as the wind and lightning stoked the blaze.
"Nooooo!"
Izunia screamed, reaching out toward Evunial as the flames erupted even higher into the sky than before. The ground around the flames blistered and the air filled with electricity.
Tears weld up in Izunia's eyes as she looked on helplessly, covering her face once again as she braced herself against the wind and heat that blew through the cave.
The air pulsed with electricity and the heavy smell of smoke, fire, and blood filled it.
Maeral then stood up straight as he put his bow on his back.
"What a shame. Might have had more fun fighting him one on one."
Novem then appeared next to Maeral and spoke.
"Don't be a fool. One on one and he would have killed us."
Maeral then scoffed
"You maybe..."
Maeral said under his breath as Novem rubbed his chin and thought out loud as the flames continued to roar before them.
"Somehow he was able to deceive my Discerning Spell. His abilities far exceeded what I saw..."
Maeral then spoke.
"What does it matter?... So he was a little stronger than your spell said... We still won."
Novem then replied.
"I suppose you're right..."
Izunia looked on in disbelief.
"No, Evunial can't lose to them...It's not possible."
Imara grabbed ahold of Izunia and spoke.
"We have to go now if you want to save your friend... While they are distracted."
Izunia then shook her head as she stared at the flames with tears in her eyes.
"You have to trust me, Mom... He is not dead... He can't lose. Not to them..."
Imara looked at her daughter saddened before looking at the flames. But as she did she saw something moving in the flames.
The sound of slow unamused claps then began to echo throughout the cave.
"You know... I over-prepared for this fight..."
Evunial's voice rang out followed by a chuckle that turned into full-blown laughter.
Maeral and Novem quickly looked at the flames for the source of the clapping and voice. Their eyes then widened as a silhouette walked out of the flames.
"That... That's impossible..."
Novem said, disbelief covering his face as Evunial emerged from the blaze untouched and laughing. Fire danced on his white lion cloak before leaving it unscathed.
Maeral's twisted smile returned as he watched Evunial emerge from the flames.
"Magnificent...Looks like the fun continues..."
Novem then shook his head as he took a step back.
"You don't understand Mearal... He can't still be alive..."
Mearal then looked over at Novem and replied as he gestured to Evunial.
"What are you talking about... He's standing right there."
Novem then spoke as he looked above Evunial and saw an empty bar.
"His Life Energy... it's gone... He shouldn't be breathing."
Evunial then raised an eyebrow as calmed himself and spoke.
"Ah, so you used Decern Enemy... I figured there was a chance you might. So I used a counter spell..."
Novem was taken aback. He had never heard of a counter spell for Discernment.
"Counterspell... So what I saw wasn't your true power?!"
Evunial then smiled.
"No..."
Novem's eyes widened as the realization sunk in.
Mearal then spoke up.
"Impossible... I was pushing you to your limits... I saw it!"
Evunial's eyes slowly fell on Mearal before he spoke.
"You're stronger than anyone else I've faced in these lands so far... But if you're strong... Then I'm what lies beyond strength..."
Evunial then raised his hand and snapped his fingers.
{Dispell}
The next moment Evunial's aura exploded from his body and air whipped around in all directions snuffing out the fire behind him.
Maeral brought his hands up and blocked his face as the violent current of air slammed into him.
"How could he have been hiding this much power? What do you see Novem?"
He then looked over at Novem and was surprised at the caster's state.
Novem stood with his hands down. A look of utter shock on his face.
"It... It can't be... This can't be possible..."
He then waved his hand.
《Discern Enemy》
His eyes widened.
"No.."
Novem then waved his hand again.
《Discern Enemy》
"No!..."
He waved his hand a third time.
《Discern Enemy》
Novem's hands fell to his side shaking and his eyes filled with utter defeat as he looked upon Evunial who through his eyes was enveloped in a massive aura of power that roared around him in the shape of a lion.
"I've only seen power like this once before... When father cast out elder sister... So this is his true power?.."
A crazed smile then crept on Maeral's face as he turned to face Evunial once more.
"As powerful as Father..."
The dread prince then began to chuckle before throwing his head back and laughing hysterically.
"He. Hehe...Hahahahahaha..."
Evunial raised an eyebrow as Mearal laughed.
"Haha, Oh... I can see it now... the look on Father's pompous face when he finds out...I killed someone as strong as him."
Novem then spoke as the wind from Evunial's aura still whipped around him.
"Don't be a fool! I've already used too much mana! We can't fight him like this!"
Maeral then looked at Evunial with a determined look in his crazed eyes.
"But I want to see for myself... What lies beyond strength..."
Novem then grabbed Maeral's shoulder and pulled him back.
"Oh no you don't! I'm not risking it! We're leaving."
《Greater Telep...》
Just then Before Novem could cast the spell Evunial grabbed him by the face covering his mouth and went soaring across the ground at incredible speed.
"I think that's enough spells out of you for one day, caster..."
Evunial said as he slammed Novem into the ground by the head. Causing the entire cavern to shake.
"Novem!"
Maeral yelled as his senses caught up to the events. His eyes then widened as Evunial's voice rang out from beside him.
"I'd be more concerned with yourself if I were you..."
Maeral then quickly spun to his side swinging his blades toward Evunial's neck.
"Ha at this range I can't miss! It's over Thin Blood!"
Evunial then tilted his head to the side exposing his throat to the attack.
Izunia and Imara gasped as the sound of broken metal rang out as shards of the blades hit the ground.
Maeral took a few steps back as he looked at the broken blades in his hands.
"How... But I... What...are you?!"
Just then a fist slammed into Mearls face with bone-breaking force sending him flying into the cavern wall.
Evunial then straightened his posture as he began walking toward the elf.
"Ah... Now he asks the big question... And here I was getting used to "Thin Blood"
Maeral then erupted from the rubble with a gurgling roar, his face broken and mangled.
"RWAAA ILLKILLYOOOUU!..."
Without missing a step Evunial slammed his fist into Maeral's chest. The sound of shattering bone once again filled the air before Maeral crashed back into the rubble he was just in.
"Feels different doesn't it? Being the helpless one... Feeling the rage set in... the need to reject a fate dictated by another..."
Then as if on cue Maeral emerged from the rubble once again. Barely able to stand he still managed to pull his bow out from around his back, set three arrows, and pulled.
"THIS IS MAGNIFICENT!!! MY BLOOD PUMPING! NOT KNOWING IF ILL LIVE OR DIE!! I LOVE THIS!!"
He yelled as his bow glowed and air whipped around him, All sound being sucked away as wind spiraled around the arrows to a white-hot speed.
As the wind whipped around him Evunial continued toward Maeral unphased his face filled with ecstasy and quiet rage.
Maeral then yelled through bloody teeth.
"I'VE SAVED THIS FOR THE DAY I FINALLY END FATHER!! BUT HERE!!! YOU'VE EARNED IT!!!!"
《TRUE ZEPHER STORM!》
The arrows loosed with the clap of a sonic boom and ripped through the air toward the Elven Commander who simply lowered his stance and placed his right hand on his blade and spoke.
{Master Deflection Flow}
Evunial then unsheathed his blade meeting Maerals powerful attack. The air in front of Evunial erupted as his blade moved with such speed it scorched the earth below him before slamming into a torrent of concentrated wind.
The arrows covered in a drill-like vortex of wind then rebounded and careened toward Maeral who opened his arms as the arrows crashed into him. Rubble, debris, and blood flew into the air as the blade-like wind tore into Maeral.
Maerel's form laid on the ground amongst the blood and dirt as Evunial reached him and sheathed his blade.
Evunial then looked down at Maeral's broken and mangled body, he was a mound of flesh and bone, his talent God's Gift slowly healing him.
Evunial then spoke.
"Do you get it now... All the pain you've caused... All the death you've wrought... The debt comes due... So tell me... Are you still having fun?"
Mearal looked up at Evunial, his sight was blurry.
"Damn... healing has never taken this long before."
He thought to himself.
Never had he been pushed this far. Maeral had always thought that the strong ruled the weak.
"The weak...they were meant to do our bidding right?"
Their father taught them that, but here was this... thin blood a no one... standing above him, with all the power of a demi-god and all he could think was.
"Show me the power that surpasses Father!"
And from the depths of Mearals broken, mangled, and healing body came an answer.
"YEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!"
Maeral erupted from the rubble, his body steaming and pulsing and looking bigger than usual as his healing seemed to speed up.
"(This guy is bat shit!)"
Evunial thought to himself as Maeral fell upon him like a rabid animal clawing at him trying to rip into his skin.
"OH, WHAT FUN THIS IS!!! SHOW ME! SHOW ME MORE!!"
Evunial then roared back.
"Be careful what you wish for!"
Evunial raised his hand blocking the blow and snapping Maeral's right hand with a touch. Maeral then threw his left hand as his right rapidly healed. Evunial then slightly moved his body effortlessly dodging the blow and throwing a punch of his own tearing a hole through Maerals chest. The wound healed as Maeral began an onslaught of wild swings.
Evunial expertly dodged blow after blow while tearing pieces of flesh off of Maeral with each hit.
Novem then crawled out of the man-shaped hole he was in and looked upon the battle.
"Dammit... Maeral's gone feral... Father said this could happen if he pushed his talent too far... Troll Madness..."
Novem said through ragged breaths.
"I have to stop him... I can't let him die... Then it will just be me... Just me..."
Izunia noticed Novem's movements and yelled out.
"EVUNIAL WATCH OUT!!!"
Both Maeral and Evunial looked to the source of the warning but it came too late.
{Call Greater Thunder!!}
Izunia watched as Lightning rained down on Evunial and Maeral with a thunderous crack.
Maeral roared in pain as he was sent backward into the air and Evunial shrugged the spell off before turning toward the source.
"You... "
Evunial then took a step and appeared in front of Novem.
Novem then fell back and spoke.
"No I give up I see we can't beat you. Just let me take my brother and go."
Izunia then stood up anger and grief covering her face.
"You can't be serious!? After everything you've done? Everyone you've killed?! My dad! The Mother? No! you have to pay!"
Izunia yelled as she watched Novem.
Evunial then spoke.
"She's right... Why would I let you go? After all, you've done... So you can come back after you've regained your strength? Try again?"
Novem then spoke.
"No! We will never return I swear!'
Evunial then retorted.
"Even if I did believe you... You would just do what you did here somewhere else, and more innocents would fall victim to this animal you call brother..."
Just then Mearal flung himself out of the dirt once again.
Evunial prepared to strike but then Maeral ran in a different direction.
Evunial turned in the direction Maeral was running and immediately saw his target.
"Izunia!"
Maeral ran on all floors his broken and mangled body barely resembling an elf.
"Maeral! Stop this!! Now!!"
Novem screamed out as he watched Maeral running.
"You'll doom us both you fool!!"
{Blaze spear!}
Novem yelled as he threw a barrage of fire spears at his brother to stop him.
As if on instinct Maeral jumped and dodged the attacks as he closed in on Izunia and Imara from above.
But just before he could reach them Evunial's hand reached out and grabbed him by the throat tearing him out of the air and slamming him onto the ground.
Evunial then placed his other hand on Maeral's throat, pinning him as he began to squeeze.
Maeral kicked and writhed under Evunial's grip. His fingers broke and tore as he grabbed and clawed at Evunial's face as he tried to break free.
Evunial noticed Maeral's fingers remaining broken and spoke.
"Seems like your healing is slowing down again... Looks like we've found your limits."
"Noooo!"
Novem yelled.
"Let him go! You've won. We surrender! It's over!"
"Not yet, it's not..."
Evunial said as he tightened his grip and Maeral's fighting began to wane.
"I SAID LET HIM GOOOOO!!!!"
{TRIPLET MAGIC}
{MAXIMIZE MAGIC}
{CALL GREATER THUNDER!}
{CALL GREATER THUNDER!!}
{CALL GREATER THUNDER!!!}
The barrage of lighting struck with deafening force as Maeral fell to his knees exhausted.
"Please... Let him go..."
As the dust and debris from the force of the attack cleared Evunial was revealed to be unphased as three points of his health regenerated and he continued to choke Maeral as the Dread Prince grabbed and pushed at Evunial's face only managing to smear blood on it.
Then a soft, tired voice reached Evunial ears.
"Please. Lord Evunial spare them..."
The voice was so quiet but he recognized it immediately.
Novem looked up shocked at the words he had heard and from who.
"Araina..."
Izunia turned to find Araina sitting up trying to stay conscious.
Izunia's face was filled with confusion.
"You would ask for them to be spared Araina? After what HE did?! You saw it! You saw all of it!!"
Araina looked down sad and ashamed tears running from her tired eyes.
"I know...Izunia and I'm so sorry... But I guess I'm... Just like them ...as much as I want to deny it. I'm just as selfish... Just as cowardly... I know what he did, what he has done... But I can't... Watch him die. He was different when we were kids... I have to believe there's a chance..."
Izunia couldn't believe what she was hearing.
"How can you say that? How can you defend them!? Look around us all the death! Because of them!"
Evunial then yelled out.
"Men like this don't change Araina! They stay this... Monsters masquerading like men! He will never change!"
Ariana then spoke softly through tears.
"I know you're right...I know it...but he's still my brother. I know it's selfish... I know it's wrong... But even after all he's done... Please I beg you spare him..."
Evunial looked down at the being under him. More beast than man. His wild eyes rolled to the back of his head.
"(I'm sorry Araina... I wish you had stayed asleep...)"
Just then the brilliant sound of elven horns echoed through the cavern as Maeral was wrapped up in roots and vines and lifted off the ground.
Evunial stood up as a feminine voice came from beside him.
"My Love! Are you ok? We arrived as soon as we could!"
Evunial turned to see Ariel running up to him with Erui running next to her as an army of elves in white and blue armor led by Abraxas entered the cavern behind them.
"Ah Ariel, Erui, right on time... as always.."
Evunial said with a smile.
"Well I wish that were the case my lord but it seems you had everything well in hand."
Evunial then glanced over at Araina, Imara, and Izunia who all looked beyond exhaustion.
"Not quite everything.."
The elven commander said before looking down at the Dryad beside Ariel.
"Erui, the girls are hurt could heal them for me?"
The little dryad nodded her head with a determined look.
"Of course High Commander."
Erui then ran over to the girls and started healing them.
Ariel then glanced around before speaking.
"But where are Naris and Eltharion? They said they were right behind you."
Evunial then scratched his chin before speaking.
"Ah yes well they arrived a little after me. But I gave them orders to protect the villagers and watch for enemy reinforcements... But I'm sure they heard the horn... Ah well here comes Eltherion..."
Just then Eltherion walked out of the cavern's back entrance leading the other dark elf villagers.
Novem looked on dumbstruck as the powerful Elves marched into the cavern from both sides
"(What is this? They're all so powerful! He had reinforcements here the whole time!? I have to get to Maeral. I have just enough mana left to teleport us out of here... I have to go now while they're distracted.)"
Novem then looked over at his brother as he forced himself to his feet and prepared to run.
Just then a dark and cold voice spoke inches from his right ear.
"Ent sharti kar va ceri- cin var... Nossë Dagnir?..."
(And where do you think you're going, Kin Slayer?...)
Novem quickly turned to find a terrifying elf draped in a dark purple hood walking out of what looked like a wall of shadow. His dark red eyes were cold and unforgiving.
Novem froze in fear. Never had he felt anything like this? Not his father or even Evunial for all his power felt like this... This was no elf... This was death...
The shadowy elf tilted his head to the side slightly and squinted his eyes as if realizing something.
"Oh... nimeár nin. Tye osán tar na a acsa. Anui acsa yenya tye I tyelde esse... Guru.."
("Oh... Don't tell me... You believed there was a path... any path laid before you that didn't end in... Death...")
The shadow-draped elf's hand then raised slowly and reached out toward Novem's face.
"(Move!.. Run!)"
Novem's mind screamed. He could feel death's touch even as the elf's hand grew closer still now mere inches from him.
"Naris..."
Evunial's voice then rang out.
A wicked and twisted smile then crept onto Naris's face as he turned his hand and snapped his fingers.
A shadow cage then appeared around Novem as Naris walked passed him toward Evunial and whispered.
"Dartha... Nossë Dagnir"
("Soon... Kin Slayer...")
As Naris approached Evunial the shadow elf spoke with a bow.
"Commander... Lady Ariel..."
Evunial and Ariel then nodded as the former replied.
"We will worry about him later Naris, Bring all the bodies around us within range. It's time to put things right..."
Naris then replied as he raised a hand and smokey shadows danced around him.
{MASS SHADOW GRASP}
The bodies strewn across the cavern floor then sunk into shadow and reappeared placed in rows before the three Loklondian Elves.
Ariel's eyes saddened as she looked upon the bodies.
"So much death... These two did all this?.. I heard the stories... But why? Why would they do this to their own people... our people..."
Evunial then spoke.
"Because the royal elves here are poisoned by ego and greed... They don't see elves from outside their kingdom as their people...just things to be used and tossed aside..."
Ariel then sighed.
"How sad..."
The beautiful elf then stepped forward and looked the bodies over.
As she did Evunial then spoke.
"I did my best to keep the fight contained and not use too much power so I could keep the bodies in good condition but... If only I had gotten here sooner.."
Naris then stepped forward.
"We cannot control the events of a cruel world..."
Evunial's eyes widen slightly as he spoke.
"We can only work toward making it better..."
"Where did you hear that saying?..."
Evunial asked as he tried to hide his surprise.
Naris then looked at Evunial and answer matter of factly.
"From you, of course, my lord. You would say it to the other Evanuris from time to time"
"(Wait... They can remember things we said back in Yggdrasil!? How is that possible they were just NPCs... Weren't they?)"
Evunial thought to himself.
Just then Ariel spoke.
"You did an excellent job, My Lord. The bodies are all in good condition."
Evunial then looked at Ariel and spoke.
"Oh. That's a relief... Now all that's left is to res them."
Ariel then spoke.
"Right away My Love, but if I am to res them all at once, I will have to use my super tier magic. Do I have your permission to proceed?"
"(Hmmm super tier magic might be a little overkill but since it acts more like a special ability rather than an actual spell, Ariel won't lose any of her MP and I can put on a little show for whoever activated my anti-scrying item..."
Evunial then nodded.
Ariel then quickly turned and raised her hands as golden energy began to radiate around her. Magic circles then appeared above her, at her feet, and revolved around her midsection as a pillar of magic raised into the sky.
Novem looked on in awe from inside his shadowy cage.
"What manner of magic is this?! I've never seen such a concentration of mana!"
Just then the magic circles expanded and spun faster as the golden light grew brighter filling the cavern with radiance.
Ariel then spoke as the elves before all glowed brightly and the pillar of magic erupted into the shape of a massive tree.
{GAIA'S BLESSED EMBRACE}
The tree of gold light grew high above the mountains and outstretched amongst the clouds of the night sky.
Naris then spoke from beside Evunial.
"Magic like this will reach beyond the range of your ring of concealment My Lord, It will be seen..."
Evunial then replied with a confident smile.
"Good... Let them see our power... Let them fear the mountains..."
Izunia, Imara, and Araina stood up as Erui finished healing them, her hands held out and glowing.
"That should do it..."
Erui said with a smile.
The three elves got up and examined themselves their wounds and fatigue now gone.
Imara spoke first.
"Amazing... I've never seen such powerful healing magic..."
Izunia then spoke
"Thank you Erui.."
The little dryad then smiled as she replied.
"Of course, Miss Izunia I'm just glad you're ok...?"
"Yes, thank you little one."
Imara said as she walked up next to her daughter.
Guilt covered Araina's face as she looked at the two dark elves from behind.
"Izunia... I..."
Araina began as Izunia looked back down to earth, noticing the fallen elves standing up. One in particular.
"DAD!!"
In the midst of the golden light, the fallen dark elf warrior stood once more.
Ahvas and the other warriors looked around confused as they tried to regain their Bearings.
"What? What happ...*OOF*."
Was all Master of the Hunt could get out as Izunia ran up and hugged him tight, tears rolling down her face.
"Dad... I missed you so much..."
Ahvas looked surprised for a moment before a look of realization covered his face as memories of being struck in the back and cold that came after hit him.
Ahvas then hugged his daughter back, speaking softly.
"It's ok Lemon drop... I'm back.."
Imara then walked up and joined the hug as the rest of the villagers greeted their newly risen friends and family.
"It's good to have you back, my love.."
Imara said with a smile.
Ahvas then looked around at the other warriors before he stepped back and spoke.
"And it's good to be back... But how?"
Izunia then spoke up as she looked over to the elven commander
"It was Evunial he came to help us."
Ahvas then spoke surprised.
"The lord of the mountain?"
Evunial then spoke up as he approached the dark elf family followed closely by Ariel and Naris.
"Ah so you must be Izunia's parents it's an Honor... Izunia has told me much about you..."
Ahvas looked the powerful Elves over before looking Evunial in the eyes.
Imara then spoke as Ahvas stared.
"And Izunia told us a lot about you. You everything she said and more... I can't thank you enough for all you've done for her and us..."
Evunial then smiled kindly as he replied.
"You are too kind but there is no thanks needed, I only wish I'd arrived sooner..."
Ahvas then stepped in front of Evunial and held his hand out.
Evunial took it and shook as Ahvas spoke.
"Thank you for saving my family... And me..."
Evunial then replied.
"Of course.."
Ahvas then took a breath as he continued to shake Evunial's hand.
"I do have one question though."
Evunial then turned his head slightly.
"What is it?"
Ahvas then answered.
"What are your intentions with my..."
Just then Izunia grabbed her father from behind wrapping her arms around his mouth.
"Dad shut up!!!"
Izunia yelled as Ahvas was pulled backward, his arms flailing around.
Evunial sweatdropped as he scratched the back of his head.
Evunial then noticed Araina standing off to the side.
"Araina... Are you ok?"
Araina looked up at Evunial struggling to make eye contact.
"I... Well, it's..."
Just then Eltherion and the Dark Elf Viligers approached Evunial.
"My Lord!"
Eltherion said with urgency.
Evunial then replied.
"Yes, Eltherion? What is it?"
"My apologies my lord but the village elders have something urgent to ask you."
Eltherion said as the elder elves Arinie, Izen, and the revived Ezern all stepped forward.
The three elves looked at Evunial wearily as their eyes struggled to meet his. They then bowed while speaking in unison.
"Thank you, Lord, for saving our village! If there is anything you want in return, Name it..."
Evunial looked at the three bowing elves with a concerned look.
The two elves looked to be barely in their thirties
The woman had her hair in a long silver ponytail. She was wearing a white and green tribal dress. And the two men, one with long loose silver hair and the other with short silver hair were wearing brown and white tribal vestments.
"(They're terrified... probably think I'm no different from those monsters..."
Evunial then stepped forward and gently guided the two elves back to standing position as he spoke.
"Raise friends... There is nothing to repay... What I did, I would do for any of our people."
The three Elders looked at Evunial surprised at his kind and gentle demeanor as if to say
"(Is he really an Elder blood?..)"
The woman then spoke up.
"You are too kind, Lord Evunial... Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Arinie..."
She then gestured to the elves next to her.
"This is Izen and Ezern."
Evunial nodded.
Ezern then spoke.
"Thank you again, from the bottom of my heart in the Mother's name for coming to our aid and reviving the warriors and me... but we must ask one more thing of you."
Evunial then replied.
"Ask it..."
Izen then continued.
"We are eternally grateful for the lives you've given but if it's within your power we humbly ask that you revive the Mother and her children also..."
Evunial rubbed his chin as he replied.
"Mother? Ah you mean your deity. Izunia mentioned her but..."
"(But I didn't think she was real...)"
Evunial thought as the two elves pointed at what looked like a big red rock.
"This way.."
Izen said before he and Arinie began walking toward the rock.
Evunial and the other elves followed behind till they reached the red mound.
As Evunial got a better look at the creature he was taken aback.
"(Holy crap! It's a Giant Ungol Spider. One of the rarest trainable spider species in Yggdrasil...remember our guild mate Revengence losing her mind when she finally got one for her beast tamer. Got us a lot of iron spider silk for crafting.)"
Just then many smaller spiders came from around it and hissed as prepared to defend their mother.
Ezern and the other elders then all knelt and spoke in unison.
"We wish no harm upon you or the Mother. Wish only for the opportunity to help..."
The spiders then slowly stepped to the side allowing the Elves to walk passed.
Ezern then spoke as he placed a hand on the giant spider.
"She and her children led the charge with our warriors to protect us...I watched as they... Please... is there any way you can bring her back too..."
Evunial then crouched as he looked the giant spider over, his golden eye glowing dimly.
"(Hmm... She is at a rather high level... But in Yggdrasil Ungol Spiders needed to be raised by a player to get past level 20... So She must have been raised by one... Are they here somewhere... Or maybe they died or left...)"
The other dark elves then began to converge on the giant spider. They all placed their hands on her where they could while their heads hung low in sadness.
Ariel then shifted her weight slightly as she leaned in to speak to Evunial.
"It is a simple enough request, You need only give the order, my love."
Evunial then stood and spoke.
"Your right, but you've done enough for the day... I'll res the mother myself."
Ariel then nodded with a smile.
Izen and Arinie looked at each other confused before Arinie spoke.
"I'm sorry my Lord but what does "Res" mean?"
Evunial then replied.
"Oh, it's short for resurrect..."
Izun then spoke as he looked Evunial over.
"But you're a warrior, aren't you? How can you do that?"
Evunial then placed a hand on the giant spider as one of his rings glowed brightly.
"Like this..."
The giant red and white spider then began to glow as its wounds and burns healed and disappeared.
The dark elves all looked on in awe as the giant creature slowly got up onto its legs.
The smaller spiders then ran up to the Mother all squeaking and chittering happily.
Evunial and the other elves all took a step back as the great spider leaned down chittering back to its children before it took in its surroundings.
"The Mother lives!!"
Ezern yelled out before the other Dark Elves cheered happily.
As the elves jumped for joy the Mother took a step toward Evunial, her many eyes looking him over as if he seemed familiar.
Evunial stood still as the giant spider's eyes scanned him. The great spider then nudged him gently as it chirped and hissed.
The dark elf villagers all looked on surprised.
Evunial spoke as the spider chirped and nudged at him.
"I take it this is new?..."
The Dark Elves all nodded as Arinie spoke. It seems like she is trying to talk... She has never done that before..."
Ariel then walked up next to Evunial and spoke.
"Perhaps I can be of assistance my Lord?"
Evunial then nodded as Ariel gently place a hand on The Mother's head.
Ariel's eyes then glowed light green as she spoke.
"Thank you Noble Warrior for saving my children..."
The dark elf villages gasped as they began to understand what was happening as Ariel continued.
"I feared they would perish against those aberrations... As I did...But where I failed them you did not... Thank you..."
The dark elves then all knelt down around the great spider placing their hands on her.
"You did not fail us!"
One spoke out.
"You fought bravely!"
Another yelled.
The Mother then replied through Ariel as she began to cry.
"Thank you, my children. Your words are too kind... But it does not change the truth... I was unable to protect you... And now our home is little more than ruins. "Perhaps it is best if another looks after you all."
Evunial looked around at the state of the cave before he knelt to meet the creature's downward gaze.
"Homes can be rebuilt, walls repaired, but leaders like you. Those who truly care for those in their charge are far harder to replace... Your children need you..."
Evunial then stood up as the spider looked up at him.
"Now if it is a more secure location you want. I can provide that. Return with me to my fortress. We will provide you with a village and all that you want. And you will never again have to fear what happened today..."
The spider then spoke.
"What would be expected of me and my children if went with you?"
Evunial then smiled kindly and replied.
"I only ask that you share your history and culture so that I may better understand the elves of this land."
As the spider looked at Evunial's kind smile she saw the outline of a human beast tamer next to him.
"You know... you remind me of someone I knew long ago... You have the same smile... If my children accept your terms then so will I."
The great spider then turned its head toward Ariel and spoke.
"Thank you for sharing your voice with me..."
Ariel then removed her hand as she replied.
"Of course Dear..."
The Dark elves then murmured amongst themselves.
"But we've lived here for generations. Must we leave?"
One elf said as he looked around.
"What choice do we have? We don't even have a ceiling anymore..."
Izen and Ezern Arinie then looked at each other before Izen spoke up.
"We shall leave it to a vote!"
All the dark elves then fell silent as Ezern then spoke up.
"All in favor of remaining here..."
A few elves timidly raised their hands.
Arinie then raised her voice.
"All in favor of leaving and building a new village with Lord Evunial?"
Far more elves then raised their hands.
Ezern then shrugged as he looked over at the other two elder Elves.
"Well, I guess that's done then..."
Izen then patted Ezern on the back.
"Oh don't look so sad old friend, we still have plenty of time to say goodbye to the old place..."
"Hmm.." Ezern then looked over at Evunial.
"Well... It's decided... Lord Evunial, Though it will take some time to get everyone ready for the journey to your fortress."
Evunial then spoke up.
"Well, about that..."
Evunial then looked over at Ariel and spoke with a nod.
"Ariel if you would.."
Ariel then raised a hand and spoke.
{Summon Greater Item}
Just then a Giant mirror appeared before the Elves. The mirror was covered in beautiful and intricate ornaments and inlaid with gold and silver.
The dark elves all gasped at the beauty and size of the grand mirror.
Evunial then took a few steps forward and stood in front of the crowd of dark elves as he gestured to the mirror.
"This is what's known as an Eluvian... It and others like it have allowed our people to travel the world without roads. Protecting our homes from detection and invasion..."
Evunial said matter-of-factly before continuing.
"One step through its threshold and you will be standing in our new home Barad Ethel... I've taken then the liberty of having furnishings and housing prepared for you. But take all the time you need to gather all your things. My men will help however they can.
All three Village Elders then bowed together.
"Thank you Lord Evunial..."
The three elders then turned to assist the villagers as they prepared to leave the cave.
Evunial then turned his gaze onto his two new prisoners with a sigh.
Maeral and Novem were being closely watched by Naris.
"Time to deal with these two..."
The Elven Commander said as he began to walk toward them.
A few feet away Izunia hugged her parents once again.
"Come now Lemon drop, you can let go, we're not going anywhere..."
Ahvas said with a smile.
"Your father's right Izunia, it's ok, it's over..."
Imara said as Izunia squeezed her.
Izunia then finally let go and stepped back as she spoke.
"I'm sorry I was just so scared I was gonna lose you... I was too weak to do anything..."
Ahvas then gently placed his hands on Izunia's shoulders.
"You are far from weak, My daughter... In the face of unspeakable evil, you stood fast, you did not buckle or yield... You are the strongest of your generation and you will grow stronger still. And one day you will surpass me... So don't ever call yourself weak..."
Izunia managed to hold back tears as she listened to her father's words.
Just then a soft voice rang out from behind Izunia.
"Excuse me... I don't mean to intrude..."
Izunia turned and her mood soured as she saw Araina.
"Oh, It's you..."
Izunia said slightly annoyed.
Araina then began with a stutter as she bowed with tears in her eyes.
"I... I... I am so sorry for what my brothers did... And I am sorry for what I brought upon your home..."
Izunia looked down at Araina with disdain as the sound of her begging for her monster of a brother's life echoed through the dark elf's mind.
But before they could retort, her father walked up to Araina.
As Ahvas's mighty frame stood before Araina. He bade her rise.
Araina stood up slowly too ashamed to look Ahvas in the eyes.
Ahvas then smiled.
"Dear child, there is nothing to forgive..."
Araina was shocked by the words and looked up and found a kind smile As Ahvas continued.
"You are not responsible for the actions of your family. Here or elsewhere, they are not your burdens to carry... Lay them down and leave them be..."
Araina looked away trying to keep from crying as Imara then walked up and embraced her.
"You fought hard and bravely, you have nothing to be ashamed of..."
Izunia looked away, her anger refusing to settle.
Imara and Ahvas then took a step back and gave each other a knowing look before Ahvas spoke.
"We are going to go help the clan prepare for the move. You two should rest a bit... You've been through a lot today... More than anyone your age ever should..."
The two older dark elves then walked away leaving Araina and Izunia alone.
After a few moments, Araina spoke.
"Izunia I..."
Izunia then spoke up, letting her calm demeanor fade away.
"Save it. My father says there is nothing to be forgiven, but then again he didn't have to watch himself die. In a pool of his own blood."
Tears of rage began to well up in the dark elf's crimson eyes.
"That moment will haunt me for the rest of my life."
Araina's voice cracked as she tried to speak.
"I am so sorry..."
Izunia then cut her off, her voice dripping with anger.
"I said save it."
Izunia spoke sharply as she turned and looked out at the ruined village, her silver hair blowing in the new air of the open cavern.
"And you know, I could have squared that away. You had no way of knowing they would come what they would do."
Izunia then turned to look back at Araina her face filled with reluctant disdain.
"But you know what I can't square away. The look on my father's face as he died, Like he had failed me?"
Izunia's words got caught in her throat as she refused her tears.
"But the truth is I failed him the moment I brought you to my home. Because after everything you saw your brother do. Everything you heard him say. You still begged for his life."
Izunia spat, her words laced with disdain.
Araina looked at Izunia saddened and ashamed, her heterochromic red and green eyes filled with remorse.
"I know it means nothing but I am truly sorry. Their the only family I have."
Izunia then took a few steps forward.
"Hmm,"
Izunia said as she stopped in front of the Izunia and met her eyes.
"And here I thought we had become family."
She spat the words into Araina's face before she stormed past her leaving the elven princess alone with her thoughts.
Izunia then walked past Araina leaving her alone with her thoughts.
Izunia then walked toward Evunial who now stood in front of the dread princes hung up by Ariel's vines. Ariel and Naris standing beside him.
"What do you plan to do with us?"
Novem asked.
Evunial's eyes then fell on Novem with a sharp look.
"I planned to kill you... Unfortunately, this one protests."
Evunial said as he looked over at Ariel.
Ariel then spoke up.
"Killing unarmed Kin is..."
Naris then interrupted.
"Sín...Eatures...re vamme ount Nossë."
(These... Creatures... are not our kin...)
Ariel then continued as Novems tiredly raised his head and saw Izunia approaching as a concerned look slowly crossed his face.
"Alm i aha Naris, Nossë or lala, te re eldar. Ar i sanye re Hyelle..."
(Calm your rage Naris, Kin or no, they are still Elves. And the laws are clear...)
Evunial then sighed.
"... Ariel is right... Scum they may be... But Elven nonetheless...We need My brother's permission to slay them... Well... leaving them broken at their father's doorstep will just have to do..."
Novem then spoke up as Izunia approached quickly her daggers drawn.
"Hey stop her!"
Izunia then spoke
"That's not good enough..."
Izunia lunged at Maeral, aiming her cursed blade at his chest but before steel met flesh Evunial grabbed her hand stopping her mid-lunge with ease.
Evunial looked at Izunia with understanding in his eyes but disappointment on his brow.
"Izunia... What do you think you're doing?"
Izunia stared daggers at Maerals unconscious body as she fought against Evunials incredible strength.
"Ending this monster before you let him back into the wild..."
Evunial then replied.
"I can't let you do that..."
"Why?!"
Izuina asked.
"Because of your laws? Your code?... He follows no laws and has no code... Why should he benefit from yours? After all, he did... All he will do... Why show him mercy... When he has none."
Evunial understood her anger and confusion.
"(I get it... She has every right to be confused and angry. If only we hadn't written that stupid law... But for now I just have to convince her to stand down for now...)"
Evunial then took a breath and spoke.
"We cannot control the events of a cruel world... We can only work toward making it better... This mercy is not afforded to him alone but to all Elves we face until War is declared... That he should benefit is a pity... But killing him now... Like this... Would only serve to dishonor yourself."
Izunia then looked down and spat.
"Fuck honor! It didn't protect my father. And even tho I got him back... Every breath this man takes... Just reminds me that it all could be taken away again... And I am filled with rage... That kind of anger... I can't just put it down..."
Evunial could feel Izumia's hand trembling as she held back tears.
"(She's not angry... She's scared...)"
As Evunial took a breath to reply a raspy and weak laugh began to emanate from Maeral.
"Hehehe, Dont listen to him Kitten, He can't understand you. Not like I can... I will accept your feelings with open arms, grow stronger, and seek me out, I will take your hate and rage before I take you... Hehe...Argh..."
Evunial then slammed his fist into Maeral knocking the air out of him once again.
"That's enough out of you..."
Evunial said before looking at Izunia.
"Eltherion and I are going to take them now... And you will have nothing to fear from them ever again... Ok?.."
Izunia slowly nodded as if fighting with herself before relaxing her muscles and letting her dagger fall to her side.
Evunial then nodded back before looking to Naris.
"Once I leave, my concealment charm's effect will fade. I leave our uninvited audience to you."
Naris then bowed.
"Of course my Lord."
Evunial then noticed Araina walking up slowly.
The begotten Elven princess made her way in front of Evunial and spoke.
"Lord Evunial... May I have a moment with them?..."
Evunial then nodded at the blond elf before he stepped away with Naris and Ariel.
Izunia looked at Araina and her siblings for a moment, her red eyes heavy with anger and disappointment before following Evunial.
Araina walked up to her brothers as they hung from vine chains in the middle of the village they had ruined.
After a moment Araina looked up at them and as she fought back tears she spoke.
"I am sorry for leaving you, both of you, alone with Father. I was young and weak, and scared, but It's not too late. We can be a family again. You don't have to go back to him, you could stay with me."
Maeral chuckled weakly, his chest still healing from Evunial's blow.
"Haha... Oh, don't tell me, this is the part where we break down? Tell you how we've missed you and leave Father behind?"
Maeral then leaned forward in his chains, his smug smile slowly returning.
"Let me let you in on a secret, Sis, I never cared about seeing you again. I am only here because Father said so,"
Maeral then leaned down even further.
"And when next we meet I only hope I will have fathers blessing to put my hand through your chest and watch the life drain from those pretty eyes of yours."
The air grew cold to Araina as she was shaken by Maeral's words but she held firm as she looked over to Novem who was looking at the ground.
"And what about you, Novem? Is this truly what you want?"
Novem then looked at his sister. His eyes looked her over as if looking for something.
"You said before, that you were just like us... Selfish and cowardly was it?"
Novem then adjusted his weight as he leaned forward.
"But the only coward is you. You ran away, you left us, We stayed then... And I stay now, I won't abandon my duty, my destiny, as you did, Like Mailan did..."
Araina then sighed in defeat and sadness As Evunial and Eltherion approached from behind.
Evunial then spoke as he placed a gentle hand on her shoulder.
"It's time..."
Araina then stepped back as Evunial raised a hand toward the brothers.
"Now think of home..."
Ravens then began to circle around Evunial, Elthrion, and the brothers.
Araina then looked up at Novem unable to hold her tongue.
"You know when I was a slave... I used to dream of what it would have been like if I hadn't run away, if Mailan hadn't died that day, maybe father could change, maybe we could have been family, but now I see, you were a slave the whole time too."
Novem then looked down at Araina with a confused look and turned his head to the side.
"You think Mailan is dead?"
Araina's eyes widened as she open her mouth to speak. But before she could her brothers vanished with the ravens along with Evunial and Eltherion.
Araina stared off into space as tried to process what Novem had said.
"Why? Why would he say that? Milan died, father said so, I..."
Ariel then spoke, her silvery soft voice felt calming to Araina.
"Some beings dwell in such darkness that they will set you aflame just to see a light. Try not to dwell on his words they're only meant to cause you pain..."
The powerful elven mage then smiled gently as she continued.
"Come, let's await Lord Evunial's return at home..."
Araina looked at Ariel before looking back at where her brother once stood and then nodded.
Ariel then looked over at Izunia.
"You should come too. You've both been through much today."
Izunia's eyes fell on Araina's tired form before looking at Ariel.
"Thank you, Lady Ariel, but I think I will stay and help with things here."
Ariel then nodded in understanding.
"Of course, I will see you all at the fortress."
Ariel then guided Araina to the Eluvian and passed through.
Naris then stood watching the dark elves work to relocate their homes. His dark purple cloak blew in the wind.
He then looked up into the sky as the Evunial's concealment fog dissipated. His cold gray eyes scanned the skies before spotting an imperfection in the clouds above.
"There you are."
He said in his dark and raspy voice. Before vanishing and reappearing high above the mountains.
Starting into the strange transparent tear in the sky Naris raised a hand as a magic circle appeared around him.
He then spoke as he smiled thru his mask.
{Zabaniya}
Just then multiple Shadowy red hands erupted from underneath Naris' Cloak and ripped into the tear.
Somewhere in the Great Forest of Evasha:
Evunial and Eltherion appeared in a small clearing alongside Novem and Maeral who both fell to the ground broken and beaten.
Evunial looked around taking in his new surroundings.
The forest was enormous, spacious, and lush. As he looked up he was greeted by a canopy ruled by juniper, oak, and cypress, small openings let enough dancing beams of light through for all sorts of saplings to flourish in the moist and fertile bottom layer below.
Silent climbing plants dangled from many a tree, and a potpourri of flowers, which claimed remnants of light, spruced up the otherwise brown and green landscape.
His powerful ears picked up A mixture of beastly noises, the sound of great predators, and prey which added life to the forest, and were accompanied by the occasional sounds of birds of prey gliding in the air.
Evunial then walked up to one of the giant trees around them and placed a hand on it.
"So this is Elf Country..."
Eltherion then spoke as he looked around.
"This forest is beautiful."
Evunial then stepped away from the tree and spoke.
"True, though I prefer the mountains myself, this forest is wasted on their Father."
Novem then forced his tired body to sit upright before speaking.
"I don't get it... Even if she asked you to... Why spare us?"
Evunial then turned to the brothers, his eyes beginning to glow as he spoke.
"I already told you, your going to deliver a message to your father."
《FORM OF THE EVANURIS》
Just then Evunial's aura exploded in a flash of blinding silver and blue, and bathed the forest in light.
"What is this!"
The Elven Princes yelled out as they were enveloped in the Elven Lord's power.
