The camera opens up on the dock of shame, sans boat of losers. All the campers are lined up on the wooden structure, watching as Chris marches up to them.
"All right, so today's challenge will be all about building trust between yourself and your teammates.", explained Chris.
At the Gophers, Gwen, Heather, Beth, and Lindsay gave each other sideways glances.
(Gwen): If that means I have to trust Heather to do anything for me, then Chris can just forget it.
The camera then pans over to the Bass, who are mostly silently paying attention to Chris' speech.
That is, except Harold, who is eyeing Duncan.
(Harold): I still remember what Eva said when she was eliminated: Duncan betrayed her. I may be in an alliance with that punk, but I wouldn't trust him not to make another one behind me and Zeke's backs.
"Each of you will have to perform a trust exercise with a fellow teammate in rider to win points for your team.", continued Chris, before turning to the Gophers. "Gwen, Heather, you're up first for the Gophers."
Heather and Gwen glared at one another.
"As for the Bass, DJ and Duncan will perform." The two looked at each other.
Cut to somewhere in the woods of Wawanawkwa. The campers are all assembled at the bottom of a small cliff.
Chris holds up a rope attached to the top of the cliff, and began to explain the challenge.
Meanwhile, Harold took Ezekiel aside while everyone else was distracted.
"Hey, I think Duncan might be up to something behind our backs.", whispered Harold.
"I know why you mean, eh?", said Ezekiel. "It sounded like he might have been in a secret alliance with Eva."
"Yeah, and who knows how many other people?" Harold turned and stared at Duncan, making sure the delinquent wasn't watching them. Luckily, he was now engrossed in helping DJ into his climbing gear.
"So, what should we do?", said Ezekiel.
"We wait for more proof.", said Harold, after a long pause.
Meanwhile, Gwen and DJ were ready to climb up the cliff face.
Chris blew an air horn, and the climb began!
As Gwen began to get higher and higher, Heather noticed something weird on her end of the rope.
The rope was slippery! As she tried to get a better grip on it, the rope kept sliding out of hand.
"What the heck!?", yelled out Heather, as she pulled with all her might on the rope.
Unfortunately, this had the added effect of pulling Gwen straight off the cliff.
The goth girl fell with an audible yelp. Trent ran up to her, along with Cody and Beth. "Oh my God, Gwen!", said Trent. "Are you all right?!"
Heather looked in shock at Gwen, then to the slippery rope, then to DJ, who mead made it to the top and now was looking worriedly a Gwen.
Cut to Gwen in the infirmary, with a cast on her arm, writing angrily in her journal, no doubt about a certain head cheerleader.
(Heather): Why was the rope so slippery? Was this Chris' idea of a sick joke? (Gasps) Sabotage! The Bass have lost three times now, so they want to get into the winners' circle again!
Cut to inside the mess hall, where the lights are oddly enough dimmed too near darkness. A bright spotlight suddenly shone down at the Bass' table, and Harold and Ezekiel were risen up.
The same thing happened at the Gophers' table, only it was Trent and Lindsay.
A man then sailed through the air in a whirling dive, and landed at the podium. Chris rose up from behind said podium.
The four campers looked in newfound awe at Chris' never before seen athleticism... until they saw a stuntman trying to discreetly crawl into the kitchen.
"For your challenge, one of you will be cooking a meal for the other.", said Chris. "Your dish for today will be..."
Chef appeared, rolling a cart with a cloak draped over it. Chris pulled the drape, revealing two small fish in the tank.
Chris hammered the glass, and the fish suddenly puffed up into spiky balls.
"The fugu blowfish is one of the most poisonous animals in the world. It must be prepared exactly right, because one single bite of an unprepared fish will cause immediate death. And, there is no antidote."
"Hand me those blowfish, Chris.", said Harold, grinning. "I've got mad skills in cooking!"
"Why does that not surprise me?", said Chris, dryly. "Actually, Harold, you will be the eater in this challenge, while Ezekiel will be the cook."
"But, cooking is women's...", began Ezekiel, before getting elbowed sharply by Harold.
Ezekiel saw that Lindsay was glaring at him. "Um, on second thought, I'm glad to cook. First time for everything, eh?" He laughed nervously.
Trent, meanwhile, looked at a still glaring Lindsay, and raised an eyebrow.
(Trent): OK, she's no Stephen Hawking, but I think she can handle cooking.
Cut to Lindsay poking the blowfish with the pointy end of her knife. The blowfish suddenly erupted, blowing around the room, causing everyone to duck.
Trent grabbed Lindsay's shoulders. "You have taken biology, right?"
"Oh, of course I have.", said Lindsay, wandering off with her plate of blowfish.
Cut to outside the mess hall, in the forest once again, most of the campers are assembled in front of Chris.
"The next three stages of the challenge will involve blindfolds.", said Chris, holding up several icees of cloth. "First, is the blind William Tell; one camper will try to knock an arrow off another camper's head with a collection of crabapples."
Noah was about to make a snarky comment about Chris getting the tile of William Tell mixed up, when he noticed Heather glaring at the other team.
"What's up with you?"
Heather paused for a moment, then said, "I think the Bass are sabotaging us."
"Oh, yeah, and where did this accusation come from? They haven't done anything like that this whole game."
"Look, I don't know why they started now and not sooner, but they are messing with our chances. We need to stop them; are you in?"
She stuck out her hand, and Noah reluctantly took it, rolling his eyes.
Meanwhile, Chris was leading Sadie and Ezekiel up to the post for the blind William Tell, while Chef lead Beth and Cody up.
Soon, Sadie and Beth were both blindfolded tightly, and handed a slingshot with a bag of crabapples. Meanwhile, Cody and Ezekiel had an arrow placed on their heads.
"Ready, set, go!", yelled out Chris.
Sadie immediately began pulling out crabapples from the bag, and firing them Willy-nilly towards Ezekiel. Most of them hit Zeke hard in various places on his body... except for the arrow.
Beth, however, was choosing to send her crabapples flying in a more strategic manner. Finally, after about three tries, Beth had successfully shot the arrow off Cody's head.
"Al right, the Gophers win!", yelled out Chris.
"Hold on, I got this!", yelled out Sadie, as she continued to pummel Ezekiel with apples. Finally, one hit the homeschooled boy right in the face, sending him to the ground.
"Sadie, the challenge is over!", said Chris, shaking Sadie by the shoulders. "Give it a rest!"
"Oops, sorry, Zeke!", said Sadie, taking off her blindfold.
Zeke gave an awkward thumbs up from the ground.
Back in the kitchen, Lindsay was staring down at her dish.
It resembled the requested sushi, just pinker than usual and with odd spikes sticking out.
Lindsay walked off for a moment, grimacing to herself, as a dark shadowy figure entered the kitchen.
It grabbed a nearby kitchen mallet, and ground the sushi into pink mush.
The shadowy figure soon disappeared, as Lindsay came back. She took one look at her now pulpy dish, shrugged, then picked it up.
She brought the dish out into the dining area, where Harold was already sampling Ezekiel's dish.
Harold licked his lips. "For someone who's never cooked before, that was darn good, Ezekiel." The two friends high-five'd.
Pan over to Trent and Lindsay, who pushes her plate of mush in front of Trent. The musician pokes the concoction with his fork, then spoons up a bite.
A pause, then Trent gags, laughs, and punches himself in rapid succession. Finally, he falls to the ground, blue in the face and spewing out vomit.
He managed to grab Lindsay's shirt, and pull himself up. "I thought you said you passed biology.", he said, in a slurred voice.
"Oh, no, I just took biology.", she said, sweetly. "I never passed it."
Trent fell back to the ground, choking on his own vomit.
Cut to the woods again, where all the campers are assembled in front of a large trapeze set over a small pool of water.
Chris walks up, looking at a clipboard. "Well, the good news is that Trent is going to be a-OK... more or less. The bad news, for you guys at least, is that today's challenge must continue."
"As you can see we've assembled this trapeze set over this pool of jellyfish." The camera pans down to show multiple jellyfish in the pool, as electricity crackles from them.
"One camper will have to jump blindfolded into the arms of another camper as they swing on the trapeze.", continued Chris. "If you don't trust the other camper, you will most certainly fall into the jellyfish pool."
"Harold, Duncan, you guys are up for the Bass. While Lindsay and Heather, you're up for the Gophers."
Cut to Harold swinging by his legs over the pool of jellyfish. He looked down nervously, gulped, then looked up at Duncan, blindfolded on the platform.
"You better not let me drop, nerd.", threatened Duncan, trying to keep the nervous break out of his voice.
Harold narrowed his eyes at the punk, before yelling out, "Now!"
Duncan jumped...
... and Harold caught him. Duncan sighed with relief as they swung back and forth.
"I'm glad you managed to take my weight, string bean.", said Duncan, while Harold glared at him.
Heather, trembling, climbed up to the platform awkwardly, due to the large blindfold around her eyes.
Lindsay was currently swinging back and forth on the trapeze. "Wee!", she yelled, laughing.
"Lindsay!", said Heather. "Focus on the challenge!"
"Oh, OK.", said Lindsay, naively. Above her, the rope holding her trapeze began to break apart.
"OK, now!", yelled Lindsay, right as the rope snapped.
Heather jumped, following a screaming Lindsay into the jellyfish pool.
Soon, the remaining, uninjured campers were standing in front of Chris.
"OK, so with three points in a five point competition, the Bass win this challenge!", said Chris.
He then held up an explosives plunger, irritated. "And I was so looking forward to the tiebreaker challenge."
Cut to the sounds of happy yelling occurring outside the Bass cabin. Harold walked out of the boys' side to investigate the noise. There, he sees DJ twirling around, holding his pet bunny in his hands.
"Harold, isn't it great?", said DJ, when he caught sight of the dweeb. "Duncan found my lost pet bunny."
Harold gasped to himself, then walked up to Duncan.
"You found Bunny for DJ.", he said, discreetly.
"Don't act so surprised, dweeb. I can be nice when I so choose to."
(Harold): I guess I was wrong about Duncan; he's a good guy on the inside after all.
In the infirmary, Heather suddenly jolts up in her cot, breathing heavily. She is covered in welts from the jellyfish attack.
She turns to see Lindsay, also covered in welts, but still sleeping fitfully.
On the other side of the room is Trent, who is groaning heavily. Every now and then he will grab a bucket from beside his bed, and vomit profusely into it.
Heather looks to her other side to find Noah standing beside her.
"What do you want, nerd?", she said, viciously.
"Woah, there, is that any way to get your ally?", he said, calmly.
Heather just crossed her arms and looked away.
"For the record, I think you're right about the whole sabotage theory.", continued Noah. He then held up a bit of broken rope. "This has obviously been tampered with."
"Yeah, by the Bass.", said Heather, shortly.
"I don't know if the whole Bass are doing this. Most of them don't look like the sabotaging type.", said Noah.
Heather couldn't find fault with this assumption, so she just stayed quiet.
"Anyway, we need to talk about who we're voting off tonight.", said Noah, pointedly.
"I already told you; the next time we lose, it will be Gwen."
"Yeah, but she didn't lose two trust challenges."
Heather followed Noah's train of thought. "You can't mean Lindsay. The second time wasn't even her fault."
"Yeah, but the team doesn't know that. Most of them are gunning for the blonde. Let me put it in a way you'll understand: sometimes you need to throw someone under the bus to save yourself."
Heather looked uncertain for a moment, then narrowed her eyes in determination.
Cut to later in the evening, where all the Gophers are seated in the campfire pit. Gwen, Noah, Cody, Beth, and Heather have already received their marshmallows, and are watching Trent and Lindsay with trepidation.
Trent was still a little delirious from the pain medication, so seemed completely oblivious to the ceremony.
Lindsay was as well, but no pain medication caused that. She was humming quietly to herself a random tune.
"And the final marshmallow of the evening goes to...
... Trent!" Chris threw the marshmallow at the musician, which hit him painlessly on the forehead.
"Wait, what does that mean?", said Lindsay, confused.
"It means you're out of here, Lindsay.", said Chris, jerking a thumb towards the dock of shame.
Lindsay stammered for a second, then turned towards Heather. "Heather, tell them that I'm still in the game."
Heather, however, had a smirk on her lips as a response. "Sorry, Lindsay, but you know how it goes. I need to win this thing, and, let's be honest, you were essentially dead weight."
Lindsay gasped to herself, and tears began to show in her eyes.
Chris walked up to her, and said, somewhat sympathetically, "Dock of Shame's that way, dude."
Lindsay, however, wasn't done. "Beth was right about you. You're just a mean, selfish..."
What exactly was the third thing out of Lindsay's mouth was unknown, as the censors kicked in to bleep out Lindsay's furtive cursing.
The camera panned passed each and every Gopher as they stared shocked at Lindsay's vulgar barrage.
Comically, the camera also cut to the Bass in the main camp looking shocked as well.
Chris grabbed Lindsay's arm and pulled her t the dock, Lindsay cursing all the time.
Once Lindsay was out of earshot, Heather turned in shock at her other teammates, only to find four pairs of glaring eyes.
"What?", she said, irritated. "This is how you play the game; any one of you would've done the same." She stalked off, leaving her teammates behind.
Cut to Lindsay sniffing, as she walked down the dock of shame.
Suddenly, Beth ran up to her from the camp. "Oh, hey, Beth.", said Lindsay, depressed. "You're probably still mad at me, right?"
"No, I'm not mad anymore.", said Beth. "I just wanted to tell you how cool it was that you stood up to Heather like that."
"Wow, thanks!", said Lindsay. "So, we still friends?"
"Best friends.", said Beth, hugging the blonde around the middle.
Soon, Lindsay was on the boat of losers, waving to Beth.
