The episode opens up with a shot of the forests of Wawanawkwa. A chipmunk scurries down a tree, blinks in the sun for a couple of minutes, then darts forward to the center of a clearing.
It cautiously sniffs what looks like a metal beam sticking out of the ground. The camera zooms out finally to show the metal beam belongs to one of three bunk beds from the cabins in the clearing.
Geoff and Tyler are sleeping in the top and bottom respectively of one bunk, while Noah and Courtney are sleeping in the other two.
The squirrel scurries away as Noah slowly opens his sleep clouded eyes. He sits up, rubs them, and looks around him in surprise. "Aw, crap, not again.", he dryly observed.
Suddenly, the sounds of a helicopter started echoing throughout the clearing. A second later, the aerial vehicle appeared, with Chef Hatchet looking out of the door.
"Morning, sunshines!", he yells through a megaphone.
With a yelp, Courtney sat bolt upright. Tyler and Geoff woke up as well, with Tyler falling out of bed. He was then crushed when Geoff fell on top of him from the top bunk.
Soon, the four campers were standing, miraculously clothed, as Chef marched in front of them.
"All right, maggots!", Chef yelled. "Today, you will be going on a hike... through heck! You guys are currently somewhere in the forests of Wawanawkwa. The first team to make it back to camp wins the challenge!"
"Uh, like, where's Chris?", said Geoff.
"Chris is at some froo-froo actor award ceremony or something.", said Chef, waving his hand dismissively. "For today, I'm in charge."
Noah scoffed. "Not that we're complaining or anything."
"Thank you, Noah.", said Chef. "Just for that, you and your team gets the best map." He threw a nice-looking map at Noah, which he caught.
"Wait, what do you mean, 'team'?", said Courtney, suspiciously.
"I've decided to split you final four into two teams. Courtney, and Geoff, the popular kids, will be in team one. Noah and Tyler, the unpopular kids, we'll be team two.", explained Chef.
"Aw, man, not this again.", complained Tyler. "I'll have you know I'm extremely popular at my high school."
"Whatever. Here's your map, team one." Chef threw a small, ratty looking map at Courtney. She examined the map, only to see that it has several holes and tears in it.
"And how exactly are me and Geoff supposed to find our way back to camp with this?", said Courtney, snidely.
"Not my problem.", said Chef, shrugging his shoulders, before climbing back into the helicopter. He looked back and grinned mischievously at the remaining four. "Take all the time you need. I'm going to enjoy my free time away from you ungrateful teens and annoying host." He chuckled to himself, as the helicopter powered up and rose into the air.
The campers shielded their eyes from the dust cloud formed by the spinning rotors; when they were able to see clearly again, Chef had disappeared.
Cut to Courtney and Geoff walking through the forest, with Courtney in the lead. She was grumbling to herself as she tried reading the tattered map they had been given. Finally, she grunted in abject frustration. "This is hopeless! Half of this forest has been torn off this map! It'll take us days to even make it back to camp!"
Geoff smiled calmly at her. "Can I take a look at the map? Maybe if I see it...", he began, before Courtney laughed her high-pitched laugh.
"I'd might as well just give the map to the other team.", she said, harshly. "What makes you think you'd do any better?"
Geoff furrowed his brow. "Hey, there's more about me than just partying and surfing. I bet I can get us out of these woods and back to camp."
"Yeah, sure, there's more to you than just fun stuff.", said Courtney, derogatorily, rolling her eyes.
In response, Geoff huffed and began to walk away. "And where do you think you're going?", said Courtney.
"Away from you.", said Geoff. "You know, I always look for the best in people, but you've just been bitter and nasty all summer. I'm going to find my own way home."
"W-wait.", said Courtney, running after him. "If we're not together when we reach camp, Chef won't let me win!"
As Courtney tried to find Geoff, the camera pans up to show Noah and Tyler climbing a ridge over the trees. Noah has paused his climbing to watch Courtney and Geoff argue. He rubs his chin in thought, before Tyler, who is ahead of him, accidently kicks some loose dirt into his face.
Noah growls, then climbs the last few feet to the top of the ridge. "There.", said Tyler. "We've made it!"
"Remind me again why we climbed this godforsaken rock.", said Noah, shaking dirt out of one of his shoes.
"To get a good lay of the island, so we can find the quickest way back to camp.", explained Tyler, as he looked through cupped hands across the forest.
"Isn't there like a faster way to do that?", said Noah, still shaking dirt and rocks out of his shoes. "You know, a way that doesn't involve spending an ungodly amount of time climbing a ridge."
Tyler, however, wasn't paying attention. "Bingo!", he said, and pointed to what looked like a large clearing next to the lake. There were even structures there that looked vaguely like the cabins and mess hall.
"Wow.", said Noah, his eyes wide. "I'm seriously impressed." He pulled out the compass that came with the map Chef gave them and examined it. "All we have to do is follow this direction, and we'll be back at camp in no time."
"Now, we can climb down.", said Tyler, beginning said climb.
Noah rolled his eyes. "Oh, can we?"
As the two of them began climbing down the ridge, Noah said, "I saw Geoff and Courtney. They were close behind us, but they seemed to be arguing about something. Geoff left to go who knows where."
"With Courtney as a teammate, I don't blame him.", snorted Tyler.
Noah paused for a second, then said, "You want to help their arguments along for them?"
"What do you mean?"
"You know, just nudge them in the right direction to lose the challenge.", said Noah, slyly.
"That sounds an awful lot like... cheating.", said Tyler, nervously.
"Oh, c'mon, Tyler. One of the aspects of this show is practically endorsing cheating in the challenges. Just look at what some of the other contestants did before now to get ahead in the game.", explained Noah.
"Well, I don't know..."
"Look at it this way. You've made it to the final four, this is probably the closest you'll come to winning a sport. Do you really want to lose the game by being too squeamish to do something everyone else already has."
Tyler could only ponder this new line of thought.
Cut to later in the day, as the sun is setting over the forest. Courtney is walking through the forest, looking cold and irritated. "C'mon, Geoff.", she mutters to herself through chattering teeth. "Where are you?"
Outside her field of vision, Noah and Tyler peek out from behind a tree. "OK, we all good on the plan?", whispered Noah to Tyler, who reluctantly nods.
"Well, well, look who it is.", said Noah, walking out from behind the tree. Courtney jerks her head to the two boys, and scowls. "What do you guys want?"
"Oh, nothing, just trying to get back to camp.", said Noah. Courtney scowled harder and looked away. Noah glanced at Tyler, and nudged him.
"Geoff's gone, I see.", said Tyler, nervously. "Looks like the plan is working."
Courtney jerked her head to them once again. "What do you mean? What plan?"
"Oh, no, Tyler, you weren't supposed to say that.", said Noah, in a dry delivery.
(Noah): So, I'm not the best actor. Sue me.
Courtney, however, was too shocked to catch Noah's off acting. "Tell me what you guys are cooking up now, or so help me I'll turn you all into human pretzels."
Noah sighed, and recited his speech. "OK, Geoff and us are in an alliance to get you finally eliminated. He was supposed to storm off from you, so that both him and you will lose the challenge. Then, all three of us will vote you off."
Courtney went as red as a tomato. "I changed my mind.", she said through gritted teeth. "I'm going to turn you into human pretzels anyway."
Tyler and Noah, sensing the imminent danger, dashed away before Courtney could grab them. Noah, however, was slower than Tyler, as his pants were grabbed by Courtney. Tyler rushed back, helped Noah to his feet, and ran away, Courtney now holding Noah's pants.
"I'll find you guys, and I'll get you!", yelled Courtney, shaking Noah's pants. Something small and metallic fell out of the pants, catching Courtney's attention. She bent down and picked up the compass. She began chuckling darkly.
Later, during nighttime, Geoff is walking through the woods, visibly shivering from the cold. "M-maybe d-ditching Courtney wasn't the b-b-best idea...", he chattered. He stopped for a moment, looking around. "I've got to find somewhere to sleep for the night.", he muttered to himself.
He kept searching around, until he found a large cave set into the side of a cliff. He paused for a second outside the mouth of the cave, looked around, then darted in. He found the comfiest looking rock he could find, then stretched out on it. He put his cowboy hat over his face, and tried to get some sleep.
The sound of snuffling awakened him. He pulled off his hat, looking up in the face of none other than Sasquatchanawkwa. The two stood staring at one another for a moment, before Geoff screeched. This was followed by a tremendous roar from the beast, as the camera zoomed out of the cave.
"How could you lose the compass?", said Tyler angrily, as he and Noah walked through the woods.
"It was in my back pocket of my pants.", said Noah, gesturing to his now bare legs. "As you can undoubtedly see, I don't have those anymore."
Tyler snorted. "Well, we're not going to get to camp before daylight. We need to find some sort of shelter."
"Wait, what was that?", said Noah, gesturing Tyler to stop. In the resulting silence, the sounds of heavy footprints becomes apparent. Noah and Tyler both said what they were both thinking. "Courtney!"
However, it wasn't Courtney. From a nearby bush, Geoff rushed out, followed closely by Sasquatchawnawkwa. The forest night was soon filled by the sounds of screams from the three remaining boys...
Morning. At Camp Wawanawkwa, Chef Hatchet is currently sitting in a lawn chair near the camp's totem pole. He is reading from a large stack of books that Noah had smuggled into camp. Chef snickered to himself, as he read a book with a heart on the cover. "Spicy! Who knew Noah liked this type of literature?"
"I'm here!", came a voice from the tree line. Soon enough, Courtney dashed into frame, and planted a hand on the totem pole. "Woo-hoo!", she said. "Now, I just have to wait for Geoff to get here."
Chef looked about to say something, when Noah and Tyler dashed into frame. Both of them looked bloodied and bruised from their encounter with Sasquatchanawkwa. "Excellent, Geoff isn't here yet!", said Tyler.
"Oh, no you don't!", said Courtney, picking up a large stick from the ground and swinging it wildly around at the two boys. "You aren't coming anywhere near this totem pole!"
"Chef, surely this isn't allowed?", said Noah.
Chef rolled his eyes, then said, "It doesn't even matter. Courtney and Geoff have already one the challenge."
"What, how?", said Noah. "Geoff isn't even here."
Chef pointed up to the top of the pole, revealing Geoff cradling the pole, fast asleep.
(Geoff): Sasquatchanawkwa chased me for so long, that when I finally got out of his reach, I just fell asleep right there. It was only when I woke up that I realized I had climbed the totem pole.
"Ha!", yelled out Courtney, triumphantly. "Looks like your little alliance didn't work out after all."
Noah rolled his eyes. "There was no alliance, you paranoid idiot. We just told you that to throw you off your game."
Courtney blinked, then blushed in embarrassment, pathetically muttering that she had already known that.
"Hey, are those my books?", said Noah, pointing to the stack Chef had collected, after a pause.
Cut to later that day, at the campfire ceremony, where Chef is marching back and forth in front of the four remaining campers. Finally, he pauses and pulls out a plate of three marshmallows.
"Courtney and Geoff, you get immunity.", he growled, throwing the first two marshmallows at them. He then stared wickedly at Noah and Tyler, as the background music took on a dramatic edge. The camera switches between Noah and Tyler, Noah and Tyler, Noah and Tyler, before...
"With three votes against him, Noah is going bye-bye!", Chef finally said, throwing the last treat at Tyler. Noah sighed, and glared at Courtney and Tyler.
Geoff, who wasn't meeting Noah's eyes, said, "Sorry, Noah, you were just the bigger threat."
Courtney, in contrast, met Noah's eyes haughtily. "I'm not sorry, you shouldn't have tried to manipulate me this challenge."
"Tried to?", said Noah, getting up and walking off. "I totally manipulated you easily."
At the dock of shame, Tyler is waiting for Noah to arrive. "Hey, sorry I voted for you.", said Tyler, fiddling his hands in shame.
"Eh. Who else were you going to vote for? Yourself?", said Noah, giving a weak smile.
Tyler smiled at Noah as well, before the latter clambered onto the boat of losers, and sped off.
