Hailey stares at the restraining order against Jay lying in front of her on her desk.

She is not surprised that Voight pulled up this restraining order.

Logic tells her that she should grab her pen, sign it immediately and have it handed in so that it can come into effect as soon as possible.

But she doesn't.

She just stares at the paper.

Hailey thinks about her interaction with Jay over the past few days.

She can honestly say that Jay has not really been harassing her.

So, is this restraining order really because he is harassing her or because Voight doesn't want him anywhere near her?

Looking to Voight's office and seeing him busy with something, she wonders if she should discuss this with him or sign it, or just leave it?

"Hailey you ready to go?" Burgess asks as she is heading out to the crime scene.

"Yeah." Hailey drops the unsigned paper into her desk drawer and grabs her things.

Burgess and Hailey then leave the office to go interview a suspect.

At the end of the day, they all finish up and leave the office.

"I see you didn't sign the restraining order." Voight comments as they are drive out the parking lot.

"Yeah." Hailey sighs. She going to have to try and find a way to explain this to him.

"If Jay left and I never heard of him again and I sent him the divorce papers and he signed them, then I would have peace with it." Hailey explains the better scenario to the situation.

"But he came back, and he is trying to explain, he is trying to fix it." Hailey shrugs. "So, it just doesn't feel right."

All the way Voight remains silent just listening to Hailey.

"When it was just me fighting for our marriage, it would have been fine, but now Jay is fighting for it too." Hailey shares her heart with Voight.

There's silence and Hailey would like to know what is on Voight's mind.

"Maybe I should give him one more chance just to explain himself." Hailey suggests and she almost feels like she is asking for permission.

There is still silence from the driver's side.

The silence makes her nervous and for a moment she feels like jabbing Voight playfully with her elbow, but she decides against it.

Voight listens to Hailey's reasoning.

She is trying to convince herself that it can still work. Voight believes that it cannot. If Jay did it to her once, he will do it again and then she will fall apart, and he will have to pick up the pieces again, not that he minds it, but he would rather spare Hailey the heartache.

But then listening to Hailey's argument, he must admit that Jay is trying. Jay is even willing to play with fire by keeping on pushing with even Voight being involved and very straight forward with Jay.

Perhaps Jay deserves a second chance if he is willing to put his life on the line by pushing the line with Voight, all that for Hailey.

Jay honestly does seem to still love her, and it is clear to Voight that Hailey still loves him.

Maybe Jay did make a mistake and have realized it.

"If it makes you happy." Voight breaks the silence.
