AN: So it's been almost three years since I updated this story. I honestly didn't know if I ever would. I got A LOT of hateful reviews and messages when I first wrote it. I always knew this was where the story was going but I just lost my excitement for it because of all the negativity. Life is messy, why can't our fanfic stories be messy too? This is for fun. After updating Take a Chance the other day I decided to read What Now and felt it was time to update. If you hate it or my writing that's fine, but please don't be a jerk about it and steal my joy from writing. Happy Reading.

Olivia was the first to wake, slowly coming to reality. She felt arms holding her to a man's chest… man's chest… Fitz, Fitz's chest. "Holy shit" she whispered. It was real. All of it; the trip to Georgia, the rejection from her parents, the snuggling in the hotel, the sex, coming home, more sex. God, the incredible, life changing sex. Just thinking about it made her want more but what does this all mean? "You know what, I'm just going to enjoy this while I can." She thinks and turns to cuddle into Fitz and drifts back to sleep.

Not too long later, Fitz wakes from his deep sleep. He can't remember the last time he slept so well. A lazy smile occupies his face as he takes in the moment. His Livvie, was in his arms, cuddled, holding on to him for dear life, and she is naked. Taking a moment to ingrain this moment in his brain, he buries his nose in her hair. He has dreamed of this for years, always too scared of crossing a line and pushing her away. But here they are, lines crossed. Where do they go from here?

After taking in the moment a little longer, Fitz got up. He put on his discarded boxer briefs and made his way to the kitchen. The least he could do was make his favorite person breakfast. He took inventory of her fridge and pantry, not a whole lot to choose from. "Hm, well biscuits and gravy it is." he mumbles.

Fitz takes his time, humming a tune while he cooks. Lost in his own world he didn't hear Olivia come into the kitchen. She giggled watching her best friend humming and shaking his hips in his underwear as he cooked. Not wanting to miss the opportunity, she opens her camera on her phone and takes a video. After a few seconds, she couldn't contain the giggle she had been holding back.

Hearing Olivia's laugh, Fitz whipped his head around catching sight of her with her phone out. "Hey!" he begins to chase her; with a squeal she takes off running around the island. They both have a child-like joy as they go round and round. When he finally caught her, her carefree laugh filled the room. Fitz couldn't remember a time in his life when he was happier.

Without thinking, he leans in kissing her lips. Also caught in the moment, Olivia wraps her arms around his neck falling into the kiss. It isn't rushed or desperate, it's comfortable and gentle, full of the emotion they were both desperate to communicate but too scared to say out loud. They exist in the moment, giving into their feelings until they hear a pop from the stove.

"Shit!" Fitz jumps away from Liv running to pull the gravy off the flame. Luckily, it wasn't burnt, and he was able to plate the food. "Take a seat at the bar, Livvie."

She happily followed his directions, claiming the stool across the island. After setting her food down, Fitz turned to make her a glass of ginger tea. She was again blown away by his thoughtfulness. She began to daydream about how life would be if this was their every day. If she was pregnant with his baby and not some stranger's. The thought broke her heart a little. What if Fitz wouldn't want to be a single mom, wouldn't want to raise someone else's child. She looked at Fitz as he prepared her tea and wished with all her heart, she hadn't been a coward and acted on her feelings before falling into bed with a one-night stand.

Fitz observed her silent, faraway look. "What's wrong Liv? Is it the food? Is the smell making you sick? I'm so sorry. I thought this was a better option than eggs. I read a lot of women can't stand the smell of eggs, so I went with something different."

Touched by his kindness and how much he genuinely cared about her wellbeing, she laughed and started crying. What the hell? Why am I crying? Wiping her eyes, "no, the breakfast is perfect, thank you. Damn hormones."

Still worried, Fitz took a seat next to her and rubbed her back. Olivia laid her head on his shoulder and sighed.

"Liv, I don't want to pressure you, but I think we need to talk about what is going on with us." Fitz said with a rare seriousness in his voice.

Laying her head on the counter she replied, "can we table that talk for now? I need to go see Jake and have him fill out the medical history information for my doctor. I don't think I can handle two serious conversations today."

"You're going to see him?" Fitz sat up straight, suddenly at high alert.

"I just need to get this out of the way, and I don't have his contact information. Lord knows he is going to throw a fit seeing me again. He was very adamant about not being involved and that's okay, but I just want to have all the information this baby may need."

"Then I am going with you." he left no room for comment "I will not have you showing up there alone after he was such an ass when you told him about the baby" without another word he got up and started washing dishes. Olivia didn't know how to respond, so she just watched him. When he finished, he returned to Olivia's room and dressed in his clothes from the night before.

Olivia was stunned, he hadn't said a single word since declaring he was accompanying her. She couldn't read his emotions, was he mad? Hurt? Worried? None of the possibilities sat well with her.

Before she could worry more, Fitz returned dressed with his keys in his hands.
"I thought you said you were coming with me?"

"I am. I'm going home to shower and change. I'll be back in an hour. Will that give you time to be ready?" His tone is flat but still kind.

"Uh huh." she nods.

Fitz kisses the side of her head before leaving.

Olivia didn't know how to feel, this morning had started off so well. She woke up in Fitz's arms, they had run around like kids and even had a sweet little make-out session. How did she let things go to shit so fast. She knows it was the mention of Jake that had dampened the mood. In her heart, she knows she needs to get this out of the way so she can start to prepare for her new life of motherhood.

Just where was Fitz going to fit into this equation? She needed to sort things out in her head before they had the talk. If she is honest, she knows what she wants, she is just scared he doesn't want the same things. Her life was about to change in the biggest way possible. Does she want to risk Fitz not being there? Is the risk of telling him the truth and him turning her down worth the possibility of them being more than just friends?

Yes, she thinks. If things are going to be changing anyway, why not go all in and possibly get the happy ever after with Fitz she had only ever allowed herself to dream about. Fitz is worth the risk, she has always known that and now having crossed that line into something more she isn't sure she can ever go back or deny what her heart has always felt. But first, this meeting with Jake.

A little over an hour later, Fitz returns as promised. His mood is slightly better, he isn't very talkative, but he doesn't seem to be angry or pouting. Together they walk to his car, where he opens her door.

The ride is quiet with Olivia giving Fitz directions here and there. Eventually, she can't take it anymore. "Can you tell me why you're upset?"

Laying his head back he takes a small breath before speaking. "It's not anything you did if that is what you're wondering. I was just really enjoying our morning and then this dipshit was brought up. I hate the guy. I haven't even met him, and I hate him. This asshole got you pregnant." there is obvious anguish in his voice, "You're having his baby and that breaks my heart, I know we aren't having the talk right now, but you asked. I hate that the baby isn't mine. It's his and he doesn't even want it. I want to beat the shit out of him. How could he not want your baby?"

Fitz's ears are red, she knows that happens when he is truly angry. Well now she knows it happens when he's extremely turned on too, but this isn't the time to think about that. Until now, she hadn't really known how he felt about the baby besides being excited for her impending motherhood.

She gently lays her hand on his arm as he drives, "Fitz I am so sorry. I am so sorry I have put you... put us in this situation."

"This is why I didn't want to say anything, you have nothing to be sorry about. You get to live life and do whatever you want. I wasn't brave enough to tell you how I felt. That is on me. I am angry at myself. I am angry at him for treating you like he did. I want to be angry at you for not telling me how you feel about me too, but I can't because that would make me a hypocrite. There is just so much I wish I could have done but we can't change the past just make the most of the future. You're my best friend and we aren't having the talk right now but just know that I am not going anywhere."

Olivia is taking it all in, with a small nod she squeezes his arm. "It is that apartment right there." she points to the left as they have reached their destination. Fitz finds a parking spot and shuts off the engine. "You can wait here Fitz; you don't have to come with me."

"No, I'm coming." he unbuckles and exits the vehicle, rounding the back to open Olivia's door. They walk in silence to the door, and she knocks.

No answer.

She knocks a few more times, nothing. They hear a door behind them open, "You looking for Pete?" a confused man asked.

Olivia speaks up "No, I'm just looking for Jake."

"Jake? I don't know any Jake. That's Pete's place. Well, it was Pete's place. Sad really. Apparently, he was into some shady business, you never would have guessed it. Apparently, a couple of guys showed up a few nights ago and roughed him up pretty bad, another neighbor found him out on the sidewalk. Landlord says he didn't even make it to the hospital before he passed."

Olivia is shocked, what a violent incident but she knows this is Jake's apartment. "That is terrible. I'm so sorry to hear that. But you said a Pete lived there? Not Jake? I know Jake lives here."

"Ma'am, not to be rude but Pete and I have been neighbors for a long time, I would know."

Olivia's mind begins to race, then it hits her and her stomach sinks. "Could you tell me what Pete looks like?" Fitz eyebrows raise as he watches the exchange.

"Yeah, about this guy's height. Brown hair, green eyes, and fish lips." the man chuckles as if he was lost in a fond memory or an inside joke.

Olivia's hand instantly goes to her stomach, "thank you so much for your time and I am sorry for your loss." she reaches for Fitz's hand and leaves the man.

"Livvie, what the hell is going on?" Fitz whispers as they walk.

"He lied to me; he said his name was Jake. what the fuck. The man he described was Jake, or I guess Pete."

The second they get in the car she pulls up google on her phone and searches for incidents at this location. Within seconds her screen fills with several news articles about a possible drug deal gone bad. Pete Harris, a known drug dealer, died after a drug deal went south. Reports say that security footage shows him exiting his car when a group of men attack him. It wasn't until someone passed by over half an hour later that he was found. He died of blunt force trauma to the head enroute to the local hospital.

Olivia lowers her phone to her lap. "What did you find?" Fitz asks.

"Apparently, my child's father was a fucking drug dealer! A group of guys beat him when he got home, and he died."

"Are you okay?"

Was she okay? She didn't know the man, but she would never wish someone dead. He already said he didn't want the baby but what if the baby wanted to know about their father when they're older. What would she tell them "Sorry, kid your dad was a drug dealer and was murdered. That's all I know." She buries her face in her hands.

"God, this is such a fucking mess. What the fuck is wrong with me? What was I thinking? This man was dangerous!"

It is Fitz's turn to comfort her. "You had one night of fun. You didn't know this about him. You need to take it easy on yourself."

"Thank fuck I am never sleeping with someone else ever again." she says. It isn't until she hears what she said that she realizes the implication of her words." She slowly turns to look at Fitz.

"Are you telling me you're giving up on men all together and switching sides or are you telling me that we're end game." he wiggles his eyebrows.

Olivia bursts out laughing, "no one says end game in real life you dork."

"Maybe not but you got my point, are you saying you're in this Livvie?" he says as he cups her face in his hands.

"We have a lot to talk about and honestly, I don't want to get into it all now but yes Fitz. I am in this; I had already decided this morning I just needed to work up the courage to tell you."

Fitz smiles that panty dropping, crooked grin and leans in "you're it for me Livvie, you and this little one." his other hand finds her still flat stomach. She smiles in return as he closes the short distance between them kissing her lovingly.
