1 hour later; close to the Macklin Household

Miles's POV

After we were done at Montego's, which, by the way, the food was delicious, we decided to walk home. Conveniently, we ran into Bose and Mika right in front of our home on the sidewalk.

Chapa: Oh hey you two. How was Nacho Ball? I heard you went to the nice one.

Mika: How di- Oh. Teddy. Right.

We walked toward the entrance of our house.

Me: So did he also tell you two to go to the Nakatomi Tower at 8?

Mika: Yes.

Before we walked in, Chapa noticed something.

Chapa: My mom's here.

Bose: Why is she- Oh no.

Mika: Honey, it's okay. Her mom and my mom are friends.

Bose: You don't think she's here because of earlier?

Me: Bro, what are you on about?

Chapa: Wait. He's right.

Me and Mika: Huh?

Chapa: Our detention?

Mika: Oh no...

Me: Relax. We'll be fine.

Bose's POV

I sure hope so. I'm just lucky my mom's not here.

We entered the house, and there their parents were, in the living room, sitting on the couch and chair, staring at the door, waiting for them.

Mrs. Macklin: Mika. Eureka. Macklin. EXPLANATION. NOW!

Mika got scared, and I tried to comfort her.

Mrs. De Silva: Chapa, what did you do?

Mr. Macklin: Miles, really? Detention? What's gotten into you?

I couldn't just stand there and let them take this. They all seemed to fear their parents a bit, so I had to step in and take responsibility. After all, it is my fault.

Me: It's not their fault. It's mine.

The parents looked at me in confusion.

Mr. Macklin: You? What happened?

Mika: Bose, it's not your fault.

Me: Yes it is. I shouldn't have blown up at them.

Mrs. Macklin: At who?

Mrs. De Silva: Yeah, what's going on?

Me: At Becky.

Mr. and Mrs. Macklin: HER!?

Me: Yeah, her. And some guy named Mark. Becky was trying to convince me to be her girlfriend and I told her "Sorry, I already have a girlfriend" many times. She kept on trying to convince me by saying she looked good, especially in a swimsuit, but that gave creepy vibes, and knowing I wasn't allowed to fight her, I ran away from her, but she kept chasing me.

Mika: Ew, what? I knew she was a bad egg, but I didn't realize she was THAT bad!

Me: Yeah, she was staring at me like I was some sort of male model, and that's the last thing I need. It's already bad enough that people use me to get on my stepdad's good side, but the way she tried to get me was just disgusting. I'm just glad you don't use me. You're the best girlfriend a guy could ever ask for.

Mika blushed and kissed me on the cheek. I kissed her head, and we just stood there hugging each other for a minute until...

Mrs. De Silva: I hate to break up your moment, but what else happened?

Me: Oh! Right. So anyway, I was running, but stopped next to Mika after I saw her backing away from this "hot guy" named Mark. Becky also came up to us, and we exchanged words. Then, she pretty much called Mika a nobody, and that's when I drew the line. I was fuming. Then Mark, who I completely forgot about, told me that Mika was his, and he was my victim. He didn't die, just got one punched into the wall. Then, I exchanged words to Becky before punching her, but Mika pulled me away before I was able to punch her. Everything else was a blur to me until Mika snapped me out of my state of fury. Then, Ms. Shapen and Becky approached us and Ms. Shapen said that Becky said that Mika beat up Mark in an attempt to get her in trouble, so I called her out. She told me to leave Mika for her, and I was about to throw down again, but your children stopped me. Mika and Miles were trying to defend me because Ms. Shapen doesn't even work there anymore, but she gave them AND Chapa detention as well. So your kids didn't do anything but try to stop and defend me, so I'm the one you should be mad at. Not them.

I wasn't prepared for the worst, but I knew what it was: They break Mika and I up against our will and I never see her again, even during missions.

Mika's POV

Bose was brave for that. I just hope they don't break us up because of Becky's words. He was just trying to defend me. He doesn't deserve the worst; he deserves the best, and I will stop at nothing to make sure he gets just that...or at least, I'll try the best I can.

Mom: Bose...

I was internally freaking out. Bose noticed this, turned me around, and hugged me. I felt his tears drop in my hair. He must be thinking the same thing I am.

Mom: ...thank you.

I was relieved when I heard that, but I still stayed in Bose's arms in case if he still needs comfort. Plus, I love it when we're in each other's arms like this...just not with his tears dropping in my hair. That makes me sad. Anyway, he lifted his head up, but he was still holding on to me.

Mom: Even though she still got detention, you showed what lengths you're willing to go to defend our daughter. You really are good for her, and I'm sorry for trying to keep you guys apart on that crazy day.

Bose: It's okay.

Mom: If we can repay you in any way, just tell us.

Bose: You already have.

Dad: We...did? How?

He pats my back.

Dad: Oh. Well, you're welcome Bose.

I blushed even more, knowing he was talking about me.

Mrs. De Silva: Hey, are you okay?

???: Yeah...this is just a beautiful sight.

I pulled away from Bose to see who it was. It was Teddy, and he was...crying?

Chapa: Oh yeah, you did say you were going to meet us here.

Teddy wiped away his tears.

Miles: You good big dawg?

Teddy: Yeah. Anyway, let's get down to business. Schwoz told me that for what I have planned, it wouldn't be safe to do here in Swellview, so I have to clone the Nakatomi Tower and place it somewhere else. I already have the coordinates.

He gave Miles a piece of paper.

Teddy: Miles, you are to teleport you four to those coordinates at 8pm.

Mom: Woah woah woah. What do you mean "it wouldn't be safe to do here in Swellview"?

Teddy: Don't worry. I'm going to give them temporary indestructibility. It should last until tomorrow morning before they have to go to school.

Dad: If you say so.

Teddy: Anyway, I'm going to go. I need to get this party started. The only refreshment that will be served is punch. Later.

He leaves.

Mrs. De Silva: He's...interesting.
