What the heck was that about? And who was Killa referring to? Well, only time will tell. So, here comes their first encounter with a duel spirit. Yes, I said first, there are more to come. Also, any fans of 'Ruby Gillman Teenage Kraken' or 'Pokemon? Well, do I have news for you. On my DeviantArt page, I have a poll for you guys. It's for an up coming fanfic I plan on writing; 'Ruby Gillman Pokemon Trainer'. Basically, Ruby Gillman gets teleported to the world of Pokemon and becomes a trainer. The poll is that you guys get to choose which Region she has her adventure in. The choices are:
Kanto (I think she'd love the Cerulien Gym and her giant Kraken form can scare away the grunts of team rocket).
Johto (I could see her connecting with Lugia and I think Lyra would LOVE to have her as a friend).
Hoenn (She would do both Gym Battles AND contests, and she would DEFINITELY look up to Wallace as an idol).
Sinnoh (like in Hoenn, she'd do both Gym Battles AND Contests, plus I think Cynthia would be a role model to her).
Unova: (she'd enjoy Undella town and Humilau City as they are filled with water Pokemon. She could even meet the Jellicent that you can catch at Undella town).
Kalos (I think she'd enjoy the whole Mega Evolution gimmick. And I have a feeling that Callum, Serena, Shauna, Trevor and Tierno would be great friends to her).
Alola (She'd think that this place is a dream come true, since it's a bunch of islands grouped together. She would also have strong words for how Lusamine treats her kids).
Galar (She'd be completely fascinated by the whole Dynamax and Gigantimax things as she can technically do it too. I can see Hop liking her almost immediately and her having a celebrity crush on Leon).
Paldea (she'd be wanting to go to area zero and she would be one of the Pokemon Academy's top students).
The story will primarily follow the plot of the games, but there will be some aspects of the anime added in, such as the Pokemon Showcases from X & Y. You have until July 13th to cast your vote. Chapter 26
Wicked Spirits
One night, A male Obelisk blue was running for his life through the forest screaming 'help'.
'I can't believe this is happening', he thought to himself. 'I can't believe he came alive, and took my friends'.
"PLEASE! SOMEONE! HELP!" He shouted.
Meanwhile, the students were getting ready to head home for the midterm break, but, the boat had some mechanical problems. The mechanics said it would be ready by sunrise, but that didn't stop the students from complaining about it.
That night, Jaden and his friends were hanging out in the Slifer dorm.
"I can't believe it's practically the midterm break already" said ShiiShii.
"Yeah, but thanks to that stupid boat", said Zombina. "We can't go anywhere until it's fixed".
"Oh well, all the more cafeteria food for us" said Jaden.
"Yes", said Professor Banner. "Which makes wonder why all we've been eating are marshmallows".
"We already downed all the grilled cheeses" said Chumley.
"We?" Asked Moskii.
Jaden and Syrus were duelling while the rest were relaxing. Pharaoh was staring at the marshmallows, until one popped and it scared the crap out of him.
"Jeez Pharaoh", said Moskii. "I'm NOT a scratching post". Suddenly, there was a loud smashing noise.
"The hell?" Asked Zombina. Everyone then ran to the front of the dorm to see an Obelisk Blue student on the floor along with shattered glass and broken wood.
"Shit, what happened here?" Asked ShiiShii.
"He just smashed through the door" answered Manako.
"Are you okay?" Asked Cherri.
"Yeah, you've looked like you've seen a ghost" added Doppel.
"I. I have" the Obelisk Blue groaned.
"You have?", asked Jaden curiously. "What kind was it?".
"Jinzo, the duel monster" the Obelisk Blue answered. Everyone just looked at each other.
"Uh, Professor Banner", said Jaden. "You might want to call the school nurse".
"Wait, I know", said Professor Banner. "Your name is Torrey, you're in my para-duelling class".
"Yes, and everything you said", said Torrey as he grabbed Banner's shirt. "About duel spirits, it's all true".
"Forget the nurse", said Doppel. "He needs the campus Therapist". Jaden and Cherri just looked at each other.
"Don't be like that", said Tio. "He looks like he nearly had a panic attack". Tio then bent down.
"Torrey, was it?", asked Tio. "Could you tell us what happened from the very beginning?".
"Sure", said Torrey as he calmed down. "A while back, I told some of my friends about Professor Banner's class".
"Well, what DID you tell them exactly?" Asked Zombina.
"I told them, that under certain conditions", answered Torrey. "Duel Spirits could come to life".
"Step 1 for potential horror movie", said Zombina. "Hear about the occult; check".
"So, we then started to try and create those conditions", continued Torrey. "Even though we knew the academy forbids it".
"Step 2 for potential horror movie", said Zombina. "Trying to practice the occult; check".
"We tried it a couple of times, but nothing happened", said Torrey. "Until yesterday. Maybe it was because we used our bedsheets as cloaks or took Dr. Crowler's bath candles. Anyway, we all put our hands on an Ouija Board, said the chant and it happened".
"What happened?" Asked Cherri nervously.
"The dial on the board started moving", answered Torrey. "It then spelled out, 'give me three and I'll be free'. We thought he meant cards".
"Oh no", said Professor Banner. "Jinzo's appetite would NEVER be satisfied by mere cards".
"Step 3 for potential horror movie", said Zombina. "Make a deal with a spirit from another realm but not fully understanding it; check".
"So what did the three mean?" Asked Syrus.
"It meant people" answered Torrey.
"People?!" Everyone else shouted.
"Yes", answered Torrey. "And unfortunately, we had agreed, before we knew any better".
"So, what happened to your friends?" Asked Manako.
"They're both gone", answered Torrey. "I tried looking for them, but it's like they just disappeared into thin air. First it was Rimon, then Tyler, and I just know it's gonna be me next".
"Okay, before we jump to conclusions", said Moskii. "Are you sure they didn't just went to see their other friends or something?".
"I thought that, but I went to the other clubs they were a part of", answered Torrey. "But, they said that they never showed up. And that's not all, as I was packing my bags, I saw him, staring at me".
"Awwww, don't worry", said Tio. "We'll protect you".
"Yeah", said Jaden. "Consider yourself under M.O.N's protection". Just as Jaden finished, the lights went out, causing Syrus to scream and Pharaoh screeched.
"Easy, Syrus", said Professor Banner. "It was probably just a fuse".
"Yeah, or a bulb" added Chumley.
Then, they heard a deep, scratchy, gasp voice in the darkness.
"Or maybe, IT WAS ME!". A figure in a trench coat, hat and mask appeared, he also had Torrey in his arms. Everyone screamed in fright.
"Let him go, Jinzo" demanded Jaden.
"We had a deal" Jinzo said before running off.
"After him!" Shouted Zombina. They then ran off into the forest. They ran for about 9 minutes when they stopped.
"Where'd he go?" Asked Jaden.
"You think he turned invisible?" Asked Syrus.
"Doubt it", said Doppel. "Even if he did we'd still-". Doppel was then cut off by Pharaoh growling, standing on the tips of his paws and his hair was starting to stand up.
"Pharaoh, what's wrong?" Asked Banner.
"I think he can sense him" suggested Syrus.
"Makes sense", said ShiiShii. "Cats are rumoured to sense spirits. Heck, there's a cat deity that's also a fertility goddess in Chinese culture that is said to wade off evil spirits". Pharaoh then ran off.
"Follow that cat!" Shouted Tio before they all ran off.
"Oh, why do spirits always go to places where it's spooky?" Chumley wondered. After a few more minutes of running, they saw that they were in some kind of Power Station.
"What is this place?" Wondered Jaden.
"This must be the power station for the whole island" suggested Tio.
"Over there" said Zombina. She then pointed towards the back of the station, seeing Torrey laying on the ground.
"Hey Torrey, you okay?!" Asked Jaden. Torrey didn't respond.
"You okay, Torrey?!" Asked Zombina. She and Jaden tried to run to him, but the electrical towers then sparked into life. Electricity was flying all over the place. Then, from the sparks, Jinzo appeared. But he was semi-see through and was glitching like an old 80's or 90's video.
"None of you are safe" said Jinzo. Everyone was frightened by this, Pharaoh even jumped into Professor Banner's arms.
"H-how is Jinzo appearing like that?" Asked Syrus.
"It's the electricity", answered Professor Banner. "He's using the electrical current to power himself up. He is a clever one".
"Let Torrey go, Jinzo", demanded Jaden. "If you need a third sacrifice so bad, well then, then just take me instead. You hear me, Jinzo?! Take me!".
"Jaden no!" Said Syrus.
"You do seem to gave more vitality then this one", said Jinzo. "Very well, I'll take you up on your offer".
"On one condition", said Jaden. "You and I duel. You win, you can take my soul. I win, you five back the over the other 2 you took".
"A duel?", wondered Jinzo. "Very well then, I should be able to be sustained by this electrical limbo, long enough for a match. First, I'll beat you, then I'll consume you".
"We'll see about that", said Jaden activating his duel disk and drawing his hand. "Now let's throw down".
Jaden: 4000
Jinzo: 4000
"Yes let's", said Jinzo as five giant cards appeared in front of him before another one appeared. "First, I summon Malice Doll of Demise, in attack mode". His monster was a creepy doll with blonde hair carrying an axe.

"Next, I activate the spell card, Ecoplasmer", said Jinzo. "Now, at the end of every turn, one of us can tribute a monster we control, and inflict half of that monster's attack points as damage". The soul was then sucked out of the doll and hurled at Jaden.
Jaden: 4000 - 800 = 3200
"Oh crap", said Moskii. "He's already falling behind".
"And that's a continuous spell", added Manako. "So it can be activated every turn".
"Here goes", said Jaden. "I summon Elemental Hero Avian, in attack mode". His monster then appeared on the field.
"Next, I'm throwing down 4 face downs and activating, Mirage of Nightmare", said Jaden. "Now, when it's your turn, I get to draw 4 cards. But during my turn, I have to discard 4. But before all that, I'm gonna have Avian attack you! Wind Storm Strike!". Avian then punched Jinzo straight through this stomach.
Jinzo: 4000 - 1000 = 3000
"And now", said Jaden. "It's time for a taste of your own ectoplasmic medicine. I'm sacrificing Avian, and you're gonna take half his attack points as damage". Avian's soul then punched Jinzo in the chest.
Jinzo: 3000 - 500 = 2500
"That's the spirit", said Syrus. "I mean that's how you beat a spirit. I mean, aw forget it".
"NOW, we a game" said Jaden.
"A game you'll soon lose", said Jinzo as he 'drew' a card. "First, since Malice Doll of Demise was sent to graveyard due to the effect of a spell, he automatically resurrects".
"Speaking of spells", said Jaden. "Mine now activates". He then drew 4 cards from the top of his deck.
"Next I play, Emergency Previsions", said Jaden. "And I'll have to discard mirage to use it".
Jaden: 3200 + 1000 = 4200
"Not bad", said Doppel. "He got 1000 points and negated the discard cost of mirage".
"I summon Emissary of the Afterlife, in attack mode" said Jinzo. His new monster was a legless reaper carrying a scythe.

"Ugh, maybe he should've summoned some defence" said Chumley.
"And since you're defenceless", said Jinzo. "I can now wage a direct attack, sickle slasher".
"Hold it right there", said Jaden. "I activate my trap card, A Hero Emerges! Now, you choose a card from my hand. And if it's a monster, I get to summon it".
"Very well then, far right" said Jinzo.
"Hey, nice choice", said Jaden. "For me anyway. You chose, Elemental Hero Sparkman!". Jaden's monster then appeared on the field.
"Wait, both Emissary and Sparkman both have 1600 attack", said Tio. "So, if those two collide-".
The two monsters then attacked each other and were then destroyed.
"Called it" said Tio.
"You fool", said Jinzo. "By sending Emissary to the graveyard, you activated his special ability. Now, each of us can add any level 3 or lower normal monster from our decks to our hands. And I choose Thousand Eyes Idol".
"Well, I'll choose good old Burstinatrix" said Jaden.
"Now, I think it's time Malice Doll got a sing in", said Jinzo. "Go! Clever Hever!". Malice doll then threw his axe and it struck Jaden.
Jaden: 4200 - 1600 = 2600
"And don't forget the magic of, Ectoplasmer" said Jinzo. Malice doll's soul then struck Jaden.
Jaden: 2600 - 800 = 1800
"Having this duel was an excellent idea", said Jinzo. "After all, it's much better to enjoy something slowly, rather than to take it all at once".
"Jaden, your legs" said Syrus.
"They're fading" added ShiiShii. Jaden. Looked at his legs and saw they were fading.
"What's happening?" Asked Jaden.
"I'm collecting on our deal", said Jinzo. "And it feels good".
(Manako wearing a duel disk with Thousand-Eyes Restrict behind her): Monmusu.
(Tio wearing a duel disk with Frightfur Bear behind her): Monmusu.
"I'm not gonna let you take me, Jinzo", said Jaden. "I summon, Elemental Hero Clayman". His monster then appeared on the field.
"Next, I'll equip him with Clay Wrap", said Jaden. "And I'll just keep on going with polymerisation! So I'll fuse Clayman with Burstinatrix to create, Elemental Hero Rampart Blaster!". His new monster was a bulky woman with a steel body. She had shield on one arm and a launcher on ther other.

"And here's more", said Jaden. "When Clay Wrap is sent to the graveyard while equipped to Clayman, I can destroy one spell card on your field, like THAT Ectoplasmer for example".
"Haha, nice move", said Zombina. "No more Ectoplasmer, no more sacrifice burn".
"And I'm not done yet", said Jaden. "I think it's time we let my monster show her stuff. ATTACK! Rampart Barrage!". Rampart Blaster then fired several rockets at Jinzo.
Jinzo: 2500 - 2000 = 500
"You're lucky you didn't have a body for that one", said Jaden. "Now I'm gonna end my turn, by throwing down a facedown".
"My draw", said Jinzo as a giant card appeared in front of him. "And I couldn't have asked for a better one. With this card, my resurrection is all the closer".
"What card?" Demanded Jaden. Jinzo only chuckled.
"First, I activate Malice Doll's ability and re-summon him", said Jinzo. "But only so I can sacrifice him to conjure, hahahahahahahaa, JINZO!". That made everyone gasp.
"Is he for real?" Asked Zombina. Jinzo soon disappeared and the electricity started to spark and fly everywhere. When they died down, Jinzo appeared, fully solid.
"This is bullshit", said ShiiShii. "You can't draw yourself".
"I just did", said Jinzo. "Now, I can attack you personally. CYBER ENERGY SHOCK! Destroy the Rampart Blaster". A ball of energy then launched from Jinzo's hand and destroyed Jaden's monster.
Jaden: 1800 - 400 = 1400
"You're next" said Jinzo.
"Oh shit, he's lost his defence", said Moskii. "And with Jinzo now officially out on the field, Jaden won't be able to activate any trap cards".
"Now that's literal one third of your deck deemed unusable" said Manako.
"My move then", said Jaden drawing the top card of his deck. "I summon Wroughtwiller in defence mode". His new monster was a mechanical dog with a visor.

"At least if Wroughtwiller's destroyed", said Manako. "He gets an elemental hero monster AND Polymerisation back from the grave".
"I just hope he knows what they're doing" added Cherri.
"Ready for more pain?", asked Jinzo. "I summon Spirit Caller in attack mode". His new monster was wrinkly old man in a beige robe.

DEF: 1000
"And now, I think it's time I attack your Wroughtwiller", said Jinzo. "CYBER ENERGY SHOCK!". He then launched his attack and destroyed Wroughtwiller.
"Whoopsie", said Jaden. "Now, Polymerisation and Clayman come back to my hand".
"But not the field", said Jinzo. "Now! Breath from Beyond!". Spirit Caller then unleashed a powerful scream.
Jaden: 1400 - 1000 = 400
"He's almost out of life points" said Moskii with worry.
"Next, I'll equip myself with the spell card, Amplifier", said Jinzo as a mechanical cap covered his dome. "With this, I'm not bound by my own special ability anymore. So, I can play as many traps as I please, so I bet you can guess what this facedown is AHAHAHAHAHA!".
"This is going down the crapper fast", said Zombina. "Now Jaden is behind on points, monsters and traps too".
"My draw", said Jaden drawing the top card of his deck. "I play Pot of Greed. So I get to draw two more cards". Jaden then drew the top two cards of his deck.
"Next, I summon Elemental Hero Bubbleman", said Jaden as his monster appeared. "Next, I'll give him more pop with this, Bubble Blaster. This card increases his attack points by 800". Bubbleman was now holding a large shoulder blaster.
"Now, attack!", shouted Jaden. "Bombarding Bubble Barrage!". A stream of bubbles then destroyed Spirit Caller.
"You fool", said Jinzo. "By destroying Spirit Caller, you activated my trap, Spirit Barrier. This card prevents me from taking any damage as long as I have a monster face up on my field. And incase you haven't noticed, there is, me".
"You're still just a phantom to me", said Jaden. "And this card, is gonna help me keep you that way. I play Spell Reproduction. Now, I get to send two spell cards from my hand to the graveyard, in order to bring back a spell card from my graveyard to my hand. And I choose, this one".
"He chose Clay Wrap?" Wondered Cherri.
"I just hope he knows what he's doing" said Syrus.
"Now, I'll throw down a facedown and call it a turn" said Jaden.
"Well, I call that Pathetic", said Jinzo. "Almost as pathetic as I'm about to make your Bubbleman look". He then launched his attack, but only the blaster was destroyed.
"Oh, I guess I forgot to tell you", said Jaden. "When Bubbleman's equipped with Bubble Blaster, he doesn't go pop, his weapon does".
"One turn, that's all that buys you" said Jinzo.
"And that's all I'll need" said Jaden before drawing the top card of his deck. He then heard a familiar moan.
'Winged Kuriboh' thought Jaden. Winged Kuriboh's spirit then appeared.
'Oh yeah, I'm with ya buddy', thought Jaden. 'He is one ugly dude'.
"A duel spirit?" Jinzo asked.
"He's a friend first and a spirit second", said Jaden. "Which is probably why he doesn't need to snack down on souls to hangout here in the land of the living. Now, back to the duel. I play, Elemental Hero Clayman". His monster then appeared on the field.
"And I equip him with the Clay Wrap I brought back from the graveyard", said Jaden. "Next, I play Polymerisation. I'll use it to fuse Bubbleman and Clayman, to create Elemental Hero Mudball Man". His monster then appeared on the field.

Type: Warrior
ATK: 1900
DEF: 3000
"And since Clay Wrap was sent to the graveyard", said Jaden. "I get to destroy one spell card on your field, and I choose, Amplifier". The cap on Jinzo's head was then shattered and he returned to his glitchy state, yelling in pain.
"Hey, what happened to Jinzo?" Asked Manako.
"When Amplifier is destroyed", answered Chumley. "The monster equipped with it is destroyed". Jinzo was then destroyed.
"Oh yeah!", cheered Zombina. "Suck it you metal gear solid knock off!".
"NO!". The sound of that voice made everyone gasp. It was Jinzo's voice.
"I'm so close! I won't let it end here! I refuse!". Torrey then started to get up.
"Torrey, you're okay" said Jaden. However, when Torrey's eyes opened, they were red and he spoke in Jinzo's voice.
"I'm not Torrey, I am Jinzo. And I raise myself from the graveyard with Call of The Haunted".
"No you don't", said Jaden. "I activate the trap, Solemn Judgement! Sure it takes half my life points to use, but I get to destroy and negate it". Call of the Haunted was then destroyed.
Jaden: 400 - 200 = 200
"Now, to finish this!", shouting Jaden. "Mudball Man! Attack! Shockwave!". Mudball Man then slammed his hands together, sending out shockwaves.
Jinzo: 500 - 1900 = 0
The sky then cleared up, and it was suddenly morning.
"Huh? It's morning?" Asked ShiiShii.
"How long have we been here?" Asked Tio.
"Honestly, I have no idea" answered Banner.
"Hey look" said Moskii pointing forward. They saw that Torrey and his two friend were there, sound asleep.
"Do you think they remember anything about this?" Asked Syrus.
"I think it's for the best that they don't" answered Jaden.
"We should probably head back", said Zombina. "We need to finish packing".
"Think you can carry our bag's, Tio?" Asked Doppel.
"Why do I have to carry them?" Asked Tio.
"Because you're the only one who can without using a luggage cart" answered Doppel.
