when steven got to work (right on time again) he did mostly the same thing. he checked the animatronics and replaced some things. it was a surprisingly normal day until lunch when he came across another worker. a chunky fellow with green hair and heavy eyeliner. their name tag read 'jack' crossed out with sharpie, instead the name Zoe took its place. "oh hey are you new here" Zoe asked. "yes, my name is Steven and your Zoey" steven responded. "its Zoe no e sound, and how'd you know" Zoe remarked "your name tag, nice to meet you by the way" steven stated. "Ah my name tag; my worst enemy:(. So what do you do here."
Zoe said. "maintenance, you?" steven asked. "daytime security" Zoe looked at their watch "oh no breaks over! see later" Zoe said while she ran back to her post. steven also left to turn on the music man. while he was in the tunnels he found a electric cart it made the journey much faster so fast that he was early to turn the DJ on. so he just turned him on 10 minutes earlier then usual. sadly 10 minutes later a mom and her 3 kids were rushing towards steven "why is the DJ on already!" the lady yelled at steven. "what do you mean ma'am" steven responded confused. "we wanted to hear his first song of the day but if he was turned on then we can hear it! I demand you to turn him off and turn him back on so we can hear the song!" the Lady yelled more but was incoherent. thankfully the daytime security guard heard the commotion and broke them up. "what going on ma'am" Zoe asked. "well we didn't get to see the first song of the day!" the lady yelled again "you should of came earlier. now please stop yelling or I will have to escort you out" Zoe commanded "b-but" the lady mumbled "arrgh I be back tomorrow." the lady said before stomping off with her kids in suit.
Steven was about to do something when Bill came up to him "steven I need your help" bill said in a hurry "was is it" steven questioned while following bill. "monty malfunctioned but the animatronics were built where they could work as a robot an be worn as a suit" bill announced. "you want me to be monty right" steven responded. "I want yo- yes I do now he is in the parts in service room right there. don't worry there should be a script in the manual. bye" bill left steven to get in monty. steven put on the suit, read the script, and found out how to read a person's customer profile with the suit. he later exited the room as sneakily as possible and joined the other animatronics on the stage. 'wow must be hard doing this 20 times a days' steven thought to himself. when they started the show steven spotted the gems in the crowd 'they must of came because they knew I was working here' steven became worried. he checked their profiles with the monty suit and turned out they ordered a cake to be delivered by monty. he instantly became even more worried only somewhat managing not to glow pink. after the show he had to get the cake, when he finally got to the gem with the cake he read the script. "Heya did someone want a cake!" steven said trying to sound like monty as best he could. "we are waiting for someone." pearl announced. "if he doesn't come soon I'm going to eat the cake by myself." amethyst teased. "just take the cake I'm sure he'll come soon" steven said trying to get them to take the cake as soon as possible "I geuss" amysthst said taking the cake and placing in middle of the table. " I gotta go rockstars" he said rushing away from the table. "the glamrocks will be signing autographs soon!" announced the loud intercom . "oh no" steven mumbled.
Steven went over to sign the papers and it felt like hours to steven because of the hot suit. until he heard the gems talking while walking by. "I can't believe he didn't show up for my surprise" amethyst said. "you shouldn't of ordered the cake anyway" pearl suggested "yeah the cake was mostly for me hehe" amysthst snickered. "hey look autographs" garnet pointed at monty. "cool" amysthst and the other gems went to the booth. "hello can we have an autograph" pearl said politely "of course" steven said finger guning at them. he knew that this was his last signing of the day so he signed 'monty B) meet me at parts and service' he waved goodbye when they left and head to the parts and service room using the tunnels. he got there earlier than the gems so he took of the mascot head when amysthst opened the door. "whoa steven your a alligator and your so tall" "steven did you get turned into a robot!" pearl screamed. "no don't worry it's just a suit" steven stated but pearl kept worrying. "I can take it off see" steven then got out of the suit. "I was just filling in for monty because his endo was broken" "wait if you were monty you signed this card, and I can't give you it as a gift because you made it" amethyst said . "if you delivered the cake why didn't you say anything" pearl spouted slightly mad. "can't break character"
the gems and steven left and steven went to the motel again, he couldn't wait to get his paycheck so he could rent an apartment. he skipped dinner and fell asleep fast after the long day.
