Donut Friendship - Chapter 2: Kokushibo

Two guys were sitting on a bench. One was an adult man and the other one was a young student. The man had an expensive business suit and black sunglasses, while the younger guy was in his school uniform. Even thought they were of different ages, the two worked together and were on their break now.

"After our break is over, we need to finish our mission and get the info about the Kimetsu Academy master Muzan wanted…" said the man

MUNCH* MUNCH*

"We cannot fail at any cost…"

MUNCH* MUNCH*

"If we succeed, then master Muzan will be able to conquer the whole world…"

MUNCH* MUNCH*

"And we will- what the hell are you doing?" the man turned to the student who was eating Donuts right next to him

MUNCH* MUNCH* "I'm sorry, mister Kokushibo… But these donuts are so gooood…" MUNCH* replied the boy as he continued eating

The two were Kokushibo and Kaigaku. Both of them were working for the evil politician named Kibutsuji Muzan, whose evil plan it was to take over Japan and then the whole world.

They have been given a special mission to get information about the Kimetsu Academy, but so far, they had no luck.

"We haven't accomplished anything yet… No food until we get something done." said Kokushibo as he took the donut bag from Kaigaku's hands

"AHH! No! The donuts!" Kaigaku screamed as he lost his bag

As he struggled to get his donut bag back, Kokushibo noticed the amount of donuts he had.

"How many do you have?" Kokushibo asked as he counted them

"I don't know! 20? 25? They are super good! I bought them today, now give them back!" he replied as he tried to get his donut bag back

Out of curiosity, Kokushibo took one out and looked at it. It wasn't anything special, and it looked like a normal donut. He looked at Kaigaku again, who was still trying to get his bag back.

"Why is he fighting so hard to get these back? Are they really that good? Or is he just that stupid?" he thought to himself

Looking at the donut in his hand, Kokushibo took a bite out of it.

"UGH!" he gasped as he tasted the donut for the first time

"Hey! Those are mine! I bought them!" Kaigaku protested

Kokushibo looked at the donut in his hand. Even though it looked like a normal donut, it was the most delicious thing he has ever tasted. He quickly finished the whole donut.

"Ok, you ate one! Now give them back!" said Kaigaku

Kokushibo slowly turned his head and looked at Kaigaku.

"Where did you buy these?" he asked

"That's my secret!" Kaigaku replied

Hearing that, Kokushibo opened the bag again and ate one more.

"ARGH! DON'T EAT THEM! DON'T EAT THEM! PLEASE STOP! I TELL YOU WHERE TO BUY THEM! JUST PLEASE STOP! I HAVE NO MORE MONEY, I CAN'T BUY ANY MORE!" Kaigaku panicked

Hearing that, Kokushibo glanced at Kaigaku and waited for an answer.

In the meantime, Tanjiro was working at the bakery. He had countless customers, and he was working alone, but he managed to keep the bakery running. After finishing the last order, the bakery was empty once again and Tanjiro had a few moments to relax and take a break. As he was enjoying the few minutes of silence, he spotted two silhouettes outside the store.

"Here is it! Now please give me my donuts back!" said Kaigaku

Kokushibo threw him the bag without even looking at him and went inside the store.

Kaigaku smiled as he caught the bag, but his good mood left him the second he saw how many he had left.

Inside the store, Kokushibo looked at the counter and saw Tanjiro, who smiled as he saw him enter.

"Mister Cook! It's so good to see you again!" Tanjiro said with a big smile

"Oh… You…" Kokushibo replied as he saw Tanjiro

The two previously met at the Kimetsu Academy Pumpkin Battle and because of a misunderstanding, Tanjiro thought that Kokushibo was a cook.

"Why does he think that I'm a cook…? Or is that a nickname for me?" Kokushibo thought

"Are you here to buy some ingredients for your cooking?" Tanjiro asked

"What…? N-No… I'm here because I heard that you can buy donuts here…" he replied

"Yes! That's right! A few days back, I started making these donuts, and they sell like crazy!" Tanjiro explained

"Is that so…" Kokushibo said as he looked at the donuts in the display shelf

Same as before, none of the donuts looked like anything special. As he thought about which one to get, Tanjiro spoke up.

"I can give you one as a free sample!" Tanjiro offered, which caught Kokushibo's attention

"Just pick one! Each of them tastes great!" Tanjiro added, to which Kokushibo nodded and pointed at one

Tanjiro took it out and handed it to him.

"Here you go!"

"Thank you… boy…" Kokushibo replied and took the donut

He took a bite and his eyes shot wide open. It tasted exactly like the ones he took from Kaigaku's bag.

"Yes… This is it…" he said and ate the whole donut in one go

After finishing it, he faced Tanjiro.

"Boy… I would like to buy some…" he said in a calm voice

"That's great! Just tell me which one you want, and I get them for!" Tanjiro replied

Kokushibo picked a few and Tanjiro put each of them in a bag. After that, when Kokushibo was about to pay, he noticed something odd at the cash register.

"Boy… I think you made a mistake." he said

"Hmm? Is something wrong?" Tanjiro asked

"The price doesn't add up… I bought more than you're charging me for." he said as he pointed at the final amount

"Oh! I know! That's the friends and family discount! You helped us a lot with the Pumpkin Battle, so I think that makes us friends, right?" he explained with a big smile

Kokushibo looked at him confused, but after thinking about it, he nodded and took the donut bag.

"Thank you… boy." he said as he paid and let the store

"Good luck with your cooking! And please, come again!" Tanjiro shouted after him

After he left, Tanjiro leaned back and smiled, thinking about the donuts.

"Hmmm… I wonder what makes these donuts so good?"

…

Outside, Kokushibo looked around, trying to find Kaigaku. After a few seconds, he found him panicking in a sidewalk, with a phone in his hands.

"Y-Y-Yes…! I-I-I KNOW! P-PLEASE CALM DOWN SIR!" he panicked, but noticed Kokushibo standing behind him

"AH! HE IS HERE! HE IS HERE!" he replied to the phone and turned around to face Kokushibo

"It's master Muzan! He is really angry, and he wants to know about our mission!" said Kaigaku, waiting for a response from Kokushibo

Kokushibo just looked at him with an annoyed expression.

"Tell him that I'm on my break..." said Kokushibo and walked away, while eating the donuts from the bag

"WAIT! MISTER KOKUSHIBO! PLEASE HELP ME!" Kaigaku panicked as he had to explain everything to Muzan...

Author's note: Thank you for reading the second chapter of the Donut Friendship series! I have a lot of free time now, so a new chapter will come out often. I was also working on the final chapter of Rui VS Romance, but sadly my PC with the chapter is not available for the next 2/3 weeks… and I don't want to rewrite the whole final chapter again! After I get my hands on it, I will finish and upload it. In the meantime, I will work on the Donut Friendship series! Next time, a tall white woman with red dots on her face visits Tanjiro's bakery…
