Queen Clarion, still holding onto Evangeline's hand, led her away towards her dwelling within the tree while the ministers followed behind her. The other fairies begrudgingly went back to work, still chattering amongst one another about what just happened. Zarina fluttered a few feet into the air before looking at the girls with a somewhat defeated look on her face.
" Well…I'll see you guys later" Zarina said before flying over to join Fairy Gary on their way back to the dust mill.
Tinkerbell, who watched the Queen and the new arrival fly away, then looked back to her friends with an expression of determination.
"Come on, let's go" Tinkerbell whispered, waving them over to follow her
"Go where?" Silvermist questioned
"We have to watch and see what happens" Tinkerbell said, starting to fly off
However, Vidia grabbed Tinkerbell's arm and lowered her back down and said "Oh no you don't. We are not going to go spying on them, do you realize how much trouble we could get in?"
"Probably not as much trouble as Zarina" Fawn said with a smirk, which made Rosetta smirk a bit
"Whatever just happened with Evangeline, the Queen knows something. I'm going to find out what it is, you guys can go if you want to." Tinkerbell stated before quickly flying off
"I guess I'll go too. Don't think I can wait till tomorrow to find out what all the fuss is about. Sil, Fawn, you coming?" Rosetta said with a shrug, then fluttered up into the air and looked to Silvermist and Fawn
The two fairies looked to one another for a moment before giving shrugs that said "What the heck?" before joining Rosetta in the air.
"Are you crazy?! What if you guys get caught?!" Iridessa questioned in a panic
"Tink's gotten us into plenty of trouble before, might as well go with flow." Silvermist replied before the tree zoomed towards where Tinkerbell flew.
Iridessa and Vidia looked to one another before Vidia sighed and said "Come on, we better go too."
Vidia took off while Iridessa stayed put for a moment, visually contemplating her options in a panicked manner before finally giving up and flying after Vidia.
Back in the Queen's tree palace, the Queen led Evangeline inside with the Ministers of Spring, Summer, and Autumn following closely behind her. From a window hole near the ceiling, Tinkerbell and her friends all gathered around to watch. Inside, the room mainly served as a library, with floor to ceiling shelves built into the walls and dotted with many different sized volumes. However, there was a set of double doors that was centered in the middle with intricate designs. Queen Clarion opened the doors to reveal a small little room with a singular pillar that connected the ceiling and the floor. It was made entirely of wooden vines and green leaves that grew from it. In the center was a delicate butterfly made of gold with a clear gem in its backside. When Queen Clarion touched the gem, it glowed bright for a moment before the butterfly came to life and began to flutter around the pillar, pixie dust trailing behind it. The pixie dust trail caused the vines to unravel and reveal a small podium inside. Resting on top of the podium was a beautiful tiara made of thin gold vines and clustered with small white flowers, tiny clear gems, and little silver butterflies.
Tinkerbell and the others looked at one another in awe at the sight they had witnessed. Queen Clarion picked up the tiara and brought it before Evangeline, who looked at the head piece with a look of wonder that almost appeared like a trance.
"It's beautiful" Evangeline said with sincerity
"Would you like to try it on?" The Queen replied with a smile
"I…no, I couldn't. It belongs to you." Evangeline replied, shaking her head to focus her attention on the Queen
"No, it doesn't. Here."
With that, Queen Clarion placed the crown onto Evangeline's head. As though it were made for her, the tiara effortlessly slipped onto her head and stayed in place. Evangeline looked up to her head, trying to get a better view of it. But then, just as the butterfly on the pillar had come to life, the tiny butterflies on the crown began to flutter, trailing pixie dust behind them as they began to swirl around her. The pixie dust glowed brighter as it enveloped her, before dissipating and leaving behind a changed Evangeline. Her green hair was now in a bun with her bangs sweeping to the side and several loose locks that were curled. Instead of her white petal dress, she now wore a pastel green, one shoulder sleeveless dress that draped down to her knees, with little delicate designs along the hem that were stitched in gold, and was also given flats of the same color that strapped around her ankles. Along the arm without a shoulder strap, she had a sort of bracelet made of a green vine that snaked up from her wrist to her upper arm, and at the top of the shoulder there was a symbol. The symbol looked like the images of the four seasons with the spring flower, summer sun, autumn leaf and winter snowflake that were made into one whole image by taking a quarter of each of the symbols and connecting them together.
When the crown finished transforming Evangeline's new look, Silvermist gave a gasp and rose in surprise, which made Tinkerbell quickly cover her mouth and pull her down below the window hole along with others when the Minister of Autumn glanced over. When he saw nothing, he gave his head a slight shake before returning his focus to the Queen and the new arrival. Evangeline looked herself over and touched the crown on her head before looking to Queen Clarion for an answer.
"I…I don't understand." She said with a genuine questioning look
"My dear…you have just discovered your destiny." The Queen said before taking one of her hands into her own and finishing with "As my successor"
"What?" Evangeline replied, her voice almost a whisper in surprise.
The Queen didn't reply to this, but instead turned herself and Evangeline towards the Minsters and put her hands on Evangeline's shoulders in a sort of sideways grasp.
"Ministers, I would like to introduce you to Evangeline…the Princess of Pixie Hollow."
With that, the Ministers looked to one another with shocked expressions before quickly giving both the Queen and Evangeline a deep bow of respect. While this was happening, Tinkerbell and the others watched in amazement while Tinkerbell whispered a "Woah" to herself as she watched everything unfold. Evangeline looked shocked again for a moment before biting her lip with an expression that was unsure of what was going on, but before she could say or do anything else, the Minister of Autumn spoke up.
"Your majesty, should I have the Lord of Winter join us for this most special occasion?"
"Yes, in fact I want you to go to the Winter Woods and have the Keeper come here as well. Tell him I wish for him to bring the book called 'The Crown', he'll know what I mean."
"Of course your majesty, right away" He replied before zipping off
"And while we wait for him to return from the Winter Woods, please show Evangeline around the tree and the palace."
"Of course, please follow us" The Minister of Summer replied as she held out a hand towards the doorway for Evangeline
"Wait, hold on a second!" Evangeline stated in a slight panicked voice before turning to Queen Clarion and saying with the same soft, but panicked tone "What is happening?! You called me a princess, but I've only just arrived here! How can you be so sure that I'm who you think I am?!"
"It's alright, I promise you that everything will be explained once the Keeper arrives with the book. Until then, just enjoy the tour."
"…Alright. But I'm going to put this back for now. For all we know, it might have just been a fluke."
With that, Evangeline pulled the tiara off her head, which made her new look slowly shimmer away into her appearance from before. Looking at the sudden change in her wardrobe for a moment, she then placed the crown back onto the little pillow on the pillar and fluttered over to the Ministers, who began to lead her away. Now that Queen Clarion was alone, she was quiet for a moment before looking over to the window hole where the girls were, making them all duck in the hope of her not noticing them.
"I know you girls are there, you might as well come in since you saw everything." Queen Clarion gently but firmly spoke to the empty window hole.
"Uh oh" Rosetta said with a small lip bite in guilt.
Inside the tree, Queen Clarion looked at the girls with a look that was somewhat expectant of this turn of events, while the girls themselves gave guilty expressions on their faces.
"Queen Clarion, please don't be angry with them. I was the one who decided to spy, they tried to stop me but I didn't listen."
"It's alright. After everything that happened at the arrival ceremony, I was pretty sure something like this might happen. But I suppose this is a good thing."
"It is?" Vidia questioned with an eyebrow arch
"Yes. You see, when I make the announcement about Evangeline tomorrow, I'm worried she will have a hard time adjusting to her sudden importance. So I would like it if you girls could be friends with her and help her adapt to this new life. Show her all that Pixie Hollow has to offer and the wonderful things we do here."
"We'd be happy to your majesty" Silvermist said with a smile
"Good. Now it's best you go before the Minister of Spring finds you all here, or you might not hear the end of it." Queen Clarion replied before giving a chuckle
However, as she was turning away from them, Tinkerbell took a step towards her and said "Your majesty, wait"
"Yes Tinkerbell?"
"What did you mean by her being a princess? I've never heard about a fairy princess before."
"Neither have I" Rosetta replied
"Me neither" Silvermist spoke up
"Or me" Iridessa said with a hand raise
"Nuh uh" Fawn shook her head at this
"Nope" Vidia finished
"I know, it is something that no other fairy besides myself, the Keeper, and the Queens before me have known about. To be honest, I don't think we ever expected it to be real."
Behind them, they could hear the Minister of Spring's voice as he spoke highly about some historical event of Pixie Hollow.
"Well…I suppose at this point its too late to try and keep anything else hidden from you all since you've already saw it, so I'll let you stay and meet Evangeline personally."
"-and now we are back to the Queen's Library." The Minister of Spring said, then saw Tinkerbell and the others standing with Queen Clarion and said with genuine confusion "What are they doing here?"
"It's alright, I invited them to join us."
"Wait a minute…you're the girls who were there when I was awakened." Evangeline said with a look of recognition.
"Hi there, I'm Tinkerbell. This is Silvermist, Iridessa, Vidia, Fawn, and Rosetta. We're happy to meet you Evangeline."
"Likewise. But what are-" Evangeline began to say but was then cut off
"Your majesty , we have returned."
It turned to be the Minister of Autumn who was followed Lord Milori of the Winter Woods and Dewey the Keeper. The Keeper kept the book in one arm while the other held onto his giant staff. The two winter fairies were followed around by a convertible snowmaker machine that kept them cool in the warm season. Milori walked straight up to Queen Clarion and gently took her hands into his.
"We came as quickly as possible. Is everything alright?" Milori asked gently
"Yes, everything is okay. In fact, its much better than okay. Dewey, you have the book?"
"Of course, your majesty. But are your sure this is it?" Dewey replied with a nod as he held out the book towards her.
"I am. Come Evangeline" She replied as she took the book from him
With that, Evangeline walked over to the three of them. Lord Milori and Dewey gave looks that were astonished with seeing another fairy whose wings so closely resemble that of the Queens. When she reached them, she gave a look of both interest and hesitation.
"This here…holds the key to everything you wish to know." Queen Clarion stated, holding up the book for Evangeline.
After lightly touching the book and pondering for a moment, she finally spoke up.
"Alright, I'm ready."
And that is the end of this chapter! I hope you all liked it and I hope to see you all in the next chapter. This has been a fun story so far so try to stick around for some good info her fanfic blog.
