Hey there guys, back again for the next chapter! So now we are getting into Evangeline's dilemma in regards to her new status. Never before has there been a princess of Pixie Hollow, so not only is she faced with many new responsibilities, but she will have a lot of eyes on her and loads of pressure from being the first of her status. What will she do? How will the girls help her? And what will she discover along the way? Only one way to find out, enjoy!
It was now late in the night, when the moon was high up in the air, and Evangeline could be found sitting on the sill inside her room within the Pixie Dust tree palace that Queen Clarion, and now herself, called home. She stared up at the moon for a minute before looking back into her room, seeing all the stuff she was gifted for her arrival on a nearby table. Evangeline got up from the sill, glancing back at her wings for a moment before walking over to a polished rock that served as a mirror to get a better look in the reflection.
She closed her eyes, and suddenly her wings began to glow the reddish pink color of the garden fairies. When she opened her eyes and saw her wings new color, she held out her hands in front of her. A daisy sprouted from her hands, which only made her look somewhat disappointed. Once her wings returned to their white transparency, she walked over to the table of gifts and placed the daisy among them, looking somewhat unsure as she did so. She absentmindedly touched several of the gifts, then gave a sigh as she turned her back to them. But as she did, her arm was scratched by a sharp pointy bit that was sticking out, causing her to gasp from the shock and pain. She looked at the wound for a moment with a look of disappointment before covering it with her other hand in an effort to soothe it.
However, when she did this, her wings began to glow a soft golden color with many sparkles, unlike any of the other myriad of colors they produced during the talent ceremony or even the golden color that often clothed Queen Clarion. The golden glow swirled from her wings and traveled to her shoulder and down her arm, finally centering in her hand that covered her scratch. Evangeline simply watched in astonishment, then the golden glow finally died down. When she lowered her hand, she gave a breathless gasp at sight of her arm, with the scratch having disappeared. She lightly touched the spot where the scratch had been, seeing that it was indeed gone.
Giving another sigh, she looked back to her reflection in the mirror rock.
"What am I going to do?" She quietly questioned her reflection
The next morning, the fairies of Pixie Hollow gathered in the Pixie Dust tree, eager to finally hear Queen Clarion's announcement regarding the new arrival Evangeline. They chattered in hushed tones to one another as they were trying to brainstorms ideas as to who Evangeline is to them. Tinkerbell and her friends all flew over to a nearby branch, already knowing what was to come but still looking somewhat excited as their peers due to the knowledge of Evangeline's destiny.
"You guys got everything ready?" Tinkerbell questioned the others
"Yep, all set" Fawn replied with a nod
"Do you think she'll like it? She didn't sound all too thrilled about it yesterday." Rosetta questioned
"It'll be great. It's like Lord Milori said, she's just scared about everything that's happened since yesterday. It's a lot to take in. This will be a nice change of pace for her." Silvermist reasoned
"And we promised Queen Clarion we'd be there for her." Tinkerbell added
"Guys, they're coming" Vidia quietly nodded to them
They, including the many other fairies in attendance, all hushed themselves as the Ministers of Spring, Summer, and Autumn appeared. Lord Milori made his way over as well, with his ice machine following close behind. Then, Queen Clarion appeared with Evangeline, the former holding the latter's hand as the two descended to the platform. Evangeline was wearing a light purple petal dress that had a two layer skirt and cap sleeves. Evangeline looked around at all the eyes on her, but was able to maintain her composure after taking a deep breath of courage. Following behind the Queen and Evangeline was Dewey, carrying a pillow with a box on top of it. Tinkerbell and her friends looked at one another knowingly before continuing to watch. Queen Clarion let go of Evangeline's hand and got closer towards the large crowd of winged spectators.
"I know you are all wondering about what happened yesterday at the arrival ceremony. What I'm about to tell you all is something that has been passed down through fairy history since the birth of Pixie Hollow itself."
Queen Clarion looked back to Evangeline for a moment, giving her a reassuring smile. This made Evangeline relax a bit as she nodded to her, giving her ok, which made Queen Clarion continue.
"In its youth, the first Queen of Pixie hollow was a fairy born from blue pixie dust. As I'm sure you've realized, this is the same way our newest arrival Evangeline was born."
This caused the fairies to murmur excitedly to one another at the news, to which Queen Clarion had to put up a hand in order to quiet them.
"The Queen held many talents that united the four seasons, serving as a great leader for many years. She knew that one day there would be another fairy just like her, and that day has finally come."
She turned and made her way back to Evangeline, who looked somewhat nervous but still held her courage. The Queen nodded to Dewey, who flew over with the pillow in one hand and his staff in the other, holding out the pillow with box towards the queen. She pulled the box off the pillow, revealing the crown from yesterday. This made all of the fairies murmur again as she picked up the crown with both hands. Turning back to Evangeline, she gently placed the crown onto Evangeline's head.
It's shimmering magic activated and once more it transformed her look like it had yesterday. This time, her purple dress transformed into a halter neck petal dress of the same color with a small keyhole in the halter, along with a high low skirt of layered purple petals that reached the back of her knees. Her hair was done up in high braided ponytail with little flowers decorating it, as well as flats of similar color to her dress. She also bore the same vine arm bracelet and symbol from yesterday on her right arm.
This transformation caused all of the fairies to become louder than their previous hushed tones as they exclaimed at the sight of Evangeline's appearance. Queen Clarion held out a hand to Evangeline, who took it after a moment of pause, and the two made their way over to where they were front and center.
"Fairies of Pixie Hollow, today marks a very special day for all of us. It is the day we celebrate the arrival of Evangeline, the Princess of Pixie Hollow."
Evangeline got a bit closer and gave a small bow, closing her eyes in her sincerity. This caused all of the fairies to rise from their spots on the tree's limbs and begin to wildly clap and cheer for their newest royalty. Evangeline looked up at the fairies, her face in slight awe at their cheers, but then gave a small breathless laugh of relief as she raised herself up. Queen Clarion then joined her by her side and held out a hand to quiet everyone down.
"I'm sure you are all curious of my fate now that Evangeline has arrived. But you needn't worry, I plan to stay the Queen for quite a while longer. However, I have tasked several fairies to help Evangeline learn the ways of Pixie Hollow, so that she will be ready when the time comes for her to take on the responsibilities that come with being the princess."
At that, Tinkerbell and the others flew over to the platform to join Queen Clarion, Evangeline, the ministers, Lord Milori and Dewey. They bowed to Queen Clarion and Evangeline, who nodded back to them before returning their gazes to the crowd around them.
"Now, let us all return to our work. Spring is fast approaching and we must make sure everything is ready." Queen Clarion stated
With that final statement, the fairies began to cheer and clap again. Evangeline couldn't help but look somewhat nervous at all the eager and expectant eyes on her. Tinkerbell and the other girls came up to her with smiles on their faces, ready to set out.
"So then your majesty, shall we go?" Silvermist questioned with a sincere smile
"Well, I guess. But where are we going?" Evangeline replied with a bit of uncertainty
"Just follow us, it's going to be great!" Tinkerbell said, fluttering a foot off the platform
"…Okay" Evangeline quietly agreed after getting a nod of approval from Queen Clarion
The girls, including Evangeline, all then took off from the Pixie Dust tree platform, with Queen Clarion watching them as they departed. They made their way high up into the air, with a great view of the entire expanse that was Pixie Hollow. Evangeline couldn't help but look around in amazement of what she was seeing.
"Alright, first thing's first. Let's introduce ourselves again. I'm Tinkerbell and I'm a Tinker fairy." Tinkerbell started, then held out a hand to gesture towards each of her friends, starting with "This is Silvermist"
"Hello your majesty, I'm a Water-talent fairy" Silvermist gave a little bow
"Iridessa"
"A pleasure to meet you, your majesty, I'm Iridessa, a Light-talent fairy" Iridessa said with upmost politeness
"Vidia"
"And I'm the best Fast-flying talent you'll meet." Vidia replied with a matter-of-fact tone
"Rosetta"
"Nice to meet you again dear, I'm the Garden fairy of this little group. Oh, I mean, your majesty" Rosetta stated with a warm smile but quickly corrected herself with a curtsey of the skirt
"And Fawn"
"I'm an Animal-talent fairy" Fawn nodded
"It's nice to meet you all. But please, call me Evangeline." Evangeline stated with a nod and smile
"Are you sure?" Tinkerbell questioned
"I might be the princess, but I'm still new here. And I'd like it if we could be friends." Evangeline replied honestly
"Well lucky for you, Queen Clarion has asked us to do just that. We'd be more than happy to be your friend" Silvermist stated
"She did?" Evangeline stated with the slightest bit of disappointment in her voice, though her face didn't show it.
"Well, yeah, but even if she hadn't we still would have become friends." Tinkerbell quickly assured her
"You're someone very special, Evangeline. Everyone here in Pixie Hollow is probably buzzing with excitement just to get to know you. And we're happy to be the first." Rosetta joined in with a comforting tone
"You are?" Evangeline said with a small smile of her own
"Definitely. And to show it, we've got a whole day planned out just for you." Fawn stated with a nod
"First, we'll take you on a tour of the four seasons. Then we'll show you all the things we do and what we've got prepared for Spring. You ready?" Tinkerbell explained the agenda
"Sure, sounds great!" Evangeline agreed with eagerness in her tone and an expression of joy
With that, the fairies took of in the direction of the Summer Glade.
