It was a nice quiet Sunday afternoon in the Mason household. Della lounged on the couch, reading a mystery novel.
"Don't you get enough mystery throughout the week without having to read them on your day off, Mrs. Mason?" Perry asked as he entered the room.
"I am so used to working cases, I don't know anything else," Della answered.
Della watched her husband as he moved around the room, expertly taking care of the flowers and houseplants.
"I didn't know you liked plants so much," she commented.
"I particularly like orchids," Perry touched the petals of one of the plants, "They have always fascinated me. I can take care of houseplants better than some housewives can," he gave her a reading look.
Della made a face at him. She always managed to kill houseplants.
Fun fact: Raymond Burr liked plants, especially orchids. He even named one of the orchids after his costar: Barbara Hale.
