Donut Friendship – Chapter 12: The Return of Doma

It was Friday and Nezuko's week at the bakery was almost over. She enjoyed her time at the bakery, and truth be told, she was a little bit sad that this was her last day. The next week, Tanjiro would return and Nezuko wouldn't be needed anymore.

Since it was her last day, Nezuko decided to put in extra effort and smile twice as much when dealing with costumers.

As always, the bakery had a lot of costumers and Nezuko managed to everything without any problems. As the day went on, she noticed something odd. With every hour, less and less people visited the bakery.

Confused as to why that is, Nezuko decided to ask the next costumer if something was wrong. After a few minutes of waiting, a girl walked into the bakery.

"Good day…" she said annoyed

"Hello! What can I get you?" Nezuko asked with a big smile

"The usual…" she replied

"3 donuts, coming right up!" Nezuko replied and went to get the donuts

While getting the donuts, Nezuko noticed that the girl was in a bad mood.

"Did something happen?" Nezuko asked as she took the donuts out of the display case

"Hmm?" the girl replied

"You look pretty annoyed. Did something happen?" Nezuko asked again

"Y-Yeah… he is back." the girl replied

"He…?" Nezuko asked confused

The girl took a deep breath and explained.

"That weird guy. He is outside your store again. Last time your brother scared him away, but now he is back." the girl explained

"Huh!" Nezuko gasped as she heard her

Tanjiro has warned her that sometimes some really weird people show up. Nezuko didn't see anyone weird the whole week, so it was only a matter of time until they returned.

Nezuko took a deep breath and handed her the donuts.

"Thank you for telling me! I will take care of it!" Nezuko said with determination

"Good luck." the girl replied and left

Once the girl left the store, Nezuko thought about what to do next. She was a bit nervous, not knowing what to expect outside the bakery, but she promised her mother and brother that she would take care of the bakery.

"I can do this! I must!" she thought to herself and took another deep breath

She walked around the counter and towards the front door. Nervously, she opened the front door and slowly walked outside the bakery, ready to face her unknown enemy…

Once outside…

"Hello! How are you doing?" said a male voice

Nezuko instantly turned around and faced the direction the voice came from.

"Huh…?" she mumbled confused when she saw the person that said that

Right in front of her bakery was a guy sitting behind a table with a big sign behind him, saying:

DOMA – THE FRIENDLY FORTUNE TELLER!

"Did you come to ask about your future? Hmm?" the guy asked with a smile

"Future…? N-No! I am here because… well…" Nezuko mumbled, still surprised

"Hmmm?" Doma waited for her to finish her sentence

"W-Well… my brother has told me that you are bad for business! And that you scare our customers away!" Nezuko explained and pointed a finger at me

"Oh dear… me?" Doma asked with a smile

"Y-Yeah! You!" Nezuko replied

"But… I didn't do anything bad. Besides, I am here for the first time." he said with a smile

"What?" Nezuko asked confused

"Oh, I know what must have happened! You and your brother must have mistaken me for my evil twin brother!" Doma explained

"Huh…?" Nezuko mumbled confused

"Let me explain! My name is Doma, and I am just a simple fortune-teller! I also have an evil twin brother! His name is Douma!" Doma explained

Nezuko just stared at him.

"Douma is an evil guy! Because of him, I got into a lot of trouble and people often get us mixed up!" Doma explained

"But don't worry! I, Doma, am a good guy! And I am only here to tell people about their future!" Doma added and pointed at his sign behind him

"Ohhh…" Nezuko mumbled bewildered

"So, do you want me to tell you about your future?" he asked

Nezuko was intrigued. She really wanted to know about her future…

"Why did you set up your table here? In front of our bakery?" Nezuko asked

"Because I used my fortune-telling skills to find the best place to set up my table! And thanks to my skills, I know that your shop sells really good donuts and that a lot of people come here!" Doma explained

"HUH! That's true! So you really can tell the future!" Nezuko gasped bewildered

"Yeah! So, do you want me to tell you about your future? Because it's your first time, I make it for free!" Doma smiled

"Sure!" Nezuko replied eagerly with a smile and walked to his table

"Ok… hmmmmm… yes… I can see…" Doma closed his eyes and spoke

"What do you see?! What do you see?!" Nezuko asked eagerly

"I can see you… and you have pink hair!" Doma said with a smile

"HUH! I will color my hair in the future!" Nezuko gasped

"Yes! You will… Do you want me to tell you something more?" Doma smiled

"Yes! Please do!" Nezuko replied

"Ok, that will be 20 000 yen! (143 USD)" he said with a smile

"…"

"…"

"…"

"…huh?" Nezuko mumbled, to which Doma just smiled

"Or we can do something else! If you don't have that kind of money, you can borrow it from me and-"

"YOU AGAIN!? HOW MANY TIMES DO I NEED TO TELL YOU TO LEAVE!? THAT'S IT, I AM CALLING THE POLICE!" yelled a male voice

"Aw crap, he is back again… Anyway, it was nice meeting you!" said Doma as he quickly packed his stuff and walked away

Doma was gone before Nezuko realized what just happened.

"Nezuko! Are you alright? Did he do anything to you?" Tanjiro asked as he walked to his sister

"T-Tanjiro? What are you doing here? You start on Monday!" Nezuko asked confused as she turned around and faced her brother

"Yes I know! I just wanted to see how you were doing on your last day." Tanjiro explained

"Oh…" Nezuko mumbled

"Anyway, are you alright? That guy is bad news!" Tanjiro asked

"Don't worry! I am fine!" Nezuko replied with a smile

"Anyway, I think you misunderstood something!" Nezuko added

"Hmm? Misunderstood?" Tanjiro asked confused

"Yes! Look, there are these two twins, Doma and Douma! And one of them…" Nezuko explained the situation as the two walked back inside the bakery

Meanwhile, somewhere else…

"Hmmmmm… I wonder if those two dumbasses would believe me when I tell them the story about the evil twin again…" Doma thought to himself as he sat behind his table, waiting for people to come

AUTHOR'S NOTE: We got a Doma chapter in Kimetsu Gakuen! Sadly, it was more like a Hakuji (Akaza) chapter than a Doma chapter. Was hoping for more Doma interactions. Anyway, I was thinking about going back and rewriting the original Donut Friendship Doma chapter, but then I decided against it.
