Hosu City Ablaze! What Matters to a Hero?
(Hosu City, Rooftops)
Chaos was the best way to describe the current situation. Several apartment buildings and stores had exploded, many injured or dead already from it. People were screaming, the Police were securing the area and the Heroes were acting as quickly as they could. All the while Shigaraki remained on top of a building with Kurogiri, watching the chaos unfold with a rare smile on his face.
It was as crooked as he was.
"Can you see Kurogiri? This is a mere new game compared to what the completed version will be like." Shigaraki said, finding it all so gleeful. So many people were crying out for help and the Heroes were scrambling about trying to make sense of everything. "You did good in your placements of bombs."
"Thank you, young Master. I take it you're quite pleased with tonight?" Kurogiri asked, as polite as ever.
"How can I not be? We're reminding the world that we're very much active and alive." Shigaraki said.
"I take that means you'll be releasing the Nomus then?" Kurogiri asked. "You know that they're far weaker compared to what we had back at the USJ."
"I'm well aware, Kurogiri." Shigaraki said, his smile flattening slightly. These Nomu were nowhere near as powerful as the one he lost, but that was just fine. "They aren't meant to fight All Might after all, just remind the Heroes that we still have them and they can be very destructive on their own."
"I see..." Kurogiri said, his eyes glancing into the burning city below.
"Speaking of, do make sure you send out just what the doctor gave us. I rather not waste our bug guns on low level plebs." Shigaraki said with Kurogiri nodding. "Now then, let the true chaos begin."
"As you command." Kurogiri said, interested in what the Heroes would do. However he was interested in one other thing as well. 'I wonder if Stain is still within the city limits?'
(Hosu City, Streets)
"That should cover this street." Manual declared while looking at the dosed building. It was the fourth fire he's had to evacuate people from, ensure that there was no one else within and put out. Iida played a big part in that, though he wished the young man was able to avoid something like this. 'I couldn't risk waiting around for backup to help deal with these fires. Iida's just as quick on his feet as his brother, just with a need of guidance at best.' Even then it was an extremely short few times that he needed it. After that, he was pretty much a pro at rescue. At least when it came to working with him. 'The other Heroes should be arriving soon, hard to believe they wouldn't otherwise. The cops got here before anyone else did as far as I know.'
"Sir!" The Basic Hero turned to see Iida running up to him and giving him a salute. "All civilians have been evacuated from the area and Police are currently investigating the burnt out buildings! What shall our next move be?"
"For now we have to be on the watch for stragglers that weren't able to catch up. As much as I don't want to say it, we'll have to split up." Manual said, his expression turning serious. "If you see any hint of someone being suspicious, do not attempt to face them. Avoid them and try to find a close Policeman or Hero to report it too."
Iida didn't seem the least bit surprised. He was still a first year and would need permission from a Hero to fight. The fact that he was allowed to do much made him extremely thankful to Manual. He wasn't sure what he would be like if he forced himself to stay aside and do absolutely nothing while people were in danger.
"Of course sir! I'm sure other Heroes are on their way as we speak." Iida said with Manual nodding.
"Good, I'll be counting on you. Now let's get to work!" Manual was gone, leaving Iida to stand by himself in the middle of the street.
'I should cover the alleyways. I can run through them fast enough to see if anyone escaped through there!' Iida thought before taking off with his task in mind. He ran to the closest one he found and began his search. Unaware of what he would find himself running into upon his choice.
(Hosu City, Streets) (Elsewhere)
A normal internship that had danger in it would usually have the intern sent somewhere while the Hero would do all the hard and heavy work.
Rumi Usagiyama was not that kind of Hero.
"Are you sure it's okay for us to come out here with you?" Izuku questioned while following Miruko with Katsumi right beside him. He was using Full Cowling to jump from rooftop to rooftop while Katsumi was blasting herself forward to keep up. But Miruko? She was casually jumping around, like she had been for years. 'I need to train in the building zones to do that!'
"Of course! You two already handled that USJ invasion pretty well and thanks to me you actually know how to take care of yourselves well enough!" Miruko said, her smile never seeming to fade. She had originally planned to meet up with Endeavor and leave the two brats with him while she went hunting for the Hero Killer. However with this whole mess starting up in Hosu, those plans were put on hold and left her bringing them along. "Consider this a test! Beat any villain you come across and help out as much as you can!"
"NOW THAT'S WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT!" Katsumi declared while Izuku sweatdropped.
"I-if you're sure." Izuku said, placing his focus back onto Hosu. The city was pretty much on fire, but it looked to be being put out as they were arriving. However they weren't ready when they came upon the first street. "W-what the?!"
"Those things." Katsumi growled out, explosions popping in her hand.
"So those are Nomus?" Miruko questioned, not sounding all that impressed. Oh they were Nomus alright, but they were small and skinny in comparison to what the students had seen back at the USJ. Many of them were disfigured and looked ready to drop dead at any second, yet they were still walking towards a row of police cars where the men were preparing to open fire. "Guess I'll just end this fast. Try and keep up, you two."
Before they could question her, she took off at the group and started her attack.
The Nomus were quick to take notice of her and let out feral roars while running at her. Almost instantly the front row of the Nomus found themselves thrown back into the rest of their kind and tumbled over. They growled and moaned from the pain, but it only grew when Miruko aggressively stomped on them. The impact seemed to permanently knock the wind out of them as they laid on the ground wheezing.
"Woah!" Izuku exclaimed, excited to see the Rabbit Hero in action.
"HEY! QUIT DAYDREAMING!" Katsumi quickly brought his focus back. "There's more than them!" True to her word, more of the skinny Nomus were shambing out of the burning buildings and alleyways, making their way straight over to where the street let them out into the city. "Let's hurry up and finish these freaks!"
"Right!" Izuku yelled, Full Cowling coming out in full. He and Katsumi split apart and went down the streets to deal with the newcomers, allowing Miruko to worry about the ones coming down other roads.
Izuku was quick to close in on the first one, reminding himself that they currently weren't people before he punched one straight into the ground where it remained. He didn't stop there, aiming his finger out and flicking it out, releasing air pressure that knocked many of them over. One roared and tried to attack from behind, but Midoriya spun around and kicked it hard enough to slam it into a wall. He didn't take the time to remind himself about kicking and instead rushed out to the next one.
On the other side, Katsumi proved that she was certainly the more brutal of the two of them. Upon reaching a group of them, she blasted them across the street, not caring in the slightest. She barely missed the few jumping from the rooftops, but one quick blast upwards rendered them unconscious. Katsumi didn't stop there and lunged forward with a clenched fist before slamming the incoming form of a poor Nomu, blowing him backwards into a car.
All the while Miruko was already beating down her third dozen of them before moving on to the fourth. However a much larger Nomu stepped her path and roared, oddly breathing ice from his mouth. The Rabbit Themed Heroine easily jumped over the larger Nomu before spinning around and landing a solid kick upon it's dome. It roared out in pain, but Miruko ignored it in favor of sending a rapid barrage of kicks at it's head. Each one pushing it back and more painful than the last. Miruko halted her attack and spun herself around to kick up it's throat, earning a pained cry from it. Landing back on her feet, she walked ahead while the Nomu fell on it's back, not getting up any time soon. Ahead of her however were several more larger Nomus, yet left no worries within her.
"Hey you two! Go around and beat as many of these bastards as you can!" Miruko ordered, a feral grin settling on her face. "These punks are mine."
"You heard her! Let's go!" Katsumi yelled, blasting herself in the air and towards the roof tops. Izuku watched them head off, thinking about where to go before choosing to take off to the other side of town. He had gotten permission to fight and that was more than enough to move out further.
However a thought came to his mind as he moved from building to building.
'Iida was meant to be out here. Is he fighting these things too?' Izuku thought, making his way further into the city. He spotted a group of Nomu down below and with a clenched fist he charged down at them. "SMASH!"
(Hosu City)(Elsewhere)
Shoko scowled as she froze another group of Nomus. They weren't difficult, but it was annoying to deal with. 'They'll be fine like this.' The Nomus were going to stay frozen like this for a while and she had no reason to go all out if she could help it. 'These creatures are the same as the one the League of Villains brought in. However, that was cured thanks to my father. These should be no different...I hope.' Shoko could tell by looking at them that they weren't as lively as the other Nomu. The way they moved and fought showed very little brain activity which could mean that they were braindead officially.
"Shoko!" The girl sighed and turned to face Endeavor. She was keeping it all extremely professional just as she promised and as much as she hated to admit it, he was taking out far more than her at the moment. Before she could get a word in, he spoke. "Enhance that Ice, they're trying to break through with their jaws."
She blinked before turning around. True to his word, they were trying to bite into the ice and were actually making it weaker. Wordless she coated them in another wave of Ice, even stronger than the first one.
"Good. The Police have already been alerted and will be here with a special unit to detail these creatures properly." Endeavor explained. The Hero Committee wanted any and all information on these creatures after the USJ Incident. However it wasn't just them. "Exodus will also be sending out their people to aid with their capture."
Shoko noted how her father didn't sound too happy about Exodus, but didn't see a reason to call them out on it. "Shall I continue on? There are bound to be even more of them."
"Of course. Remember to keep a lookout for any spacious characters. Should you see any, avoid them and contact me immediately." Endeavor said, a stern glare on his face. It was one of a Hero's that was to be listened to. No matter how much she despised said Hero.
"Okay." Shoko said before turning back to join the fight. Endeavor watched her go, holding back a sigh before setting his eyes upon the other Nomus.
He had some reserved anger to let loose.
(Hosu City, Alleyway)(Iida)
As luck would have it, there weren't as many people hurt during the explosions. Iida had run into a few civilians that had been escaping through the allies. He was quick to escort them out to the Police Zone as safely as possible. He did run into some trouble with Nomu roaming about, but there hardly an issue compared to even the villains at the USJ.
Still it was troubling nonetheless.
'Manual will want to know where I am. I should return back.' Iida thought while running. Passing by one of the many exits, he came to a dead stop upon hearing the scream of a man. Not thinking about it, he rushed down to see if it was another civilian. However he was not ready for the sight before him. "W-what...?"
It was Stain. He could tell just by looking at the man's eyes alone, even if he was wearing a strange new suit. However it wasn't him that was terrifying. It was the jagged, flesh-like blades that were coming out his hands and currently impaling another Hero. Native, if he recalled correctly through his shocked mind.
"Hmmm? Oh one of those Hero Students and one dressed all so familairy." Stain said mockingly. He dropped Native on the ground and laid his full attention on Iida. His mask coated over his face, shocking Iida greatly. "You're quite young, one of U.A.s boys if I'm not mistaken. I wonder if you're another fake in the making?"
Iida could only clenched his fist at the remark, anger slowly brewing within him. This was the same man that had almost killed his brother! He...he needed to face him! For...For...
'You got your brother, your parents, a lot of friends...I guess what I'm trying to say is that you have plenty to be thankful for. Don't disappoint them by being someone you're not.' Iida lost all thought as the simple words came to mind, remembering what Rukido had told him. His gaze remained on Stain for a moment before settling on Native, the Hero barely alive as is. He instantly thought of the kind of Heroes his friends were trying to become and the Hero he knew his brother was as well.'You're here to be a Hero after all. Show them that.'
Not one of vengeance, but rather...
"...Hero Killer Stain, I will ask you to stand aside and allow me to take Native to the hospital." Iida said in an unexpected amount of politeness that caught the Hero Killer off guard.
"Oh? And why should I allow this fake to live on? Matter of fact, why should I allow you to continue onward?" Stain questioned, keeping his gaze strictly on Iida. He allowed his tongue to slip out as a manic grin came on his face. "I could tell just by looking at you. You wanted to face me? To end me."
"...Be that as it may, you currently do not matter to me right now." Iida said, his tone stern as he prepared himself. Once more he caught Stain off guard with his response. "I'm not going to lie and say I don't despise you. Your actions and words alone have gone against the very principle of what a Hero stands for."
"And what is Hero exactly? Someone who defeats the Villain, no matter the cost?" Stain questioned, his blades armed and ready. "To take abuse of their power and use it to benefit themselves rather than others? To prance around as another fake compared to the true Heroes that walk amongst us?"
"Someone who's willing to put their life on the line to save as many as possible." Iida declared, his engine running and ready to go.
Meanwhile Stain looked a bit more surprised, his bloodlust residing a bit upon hearing the words. He remembered he had gotten to many of the roaming fakes today, none of them being close to impressive. However upon hearing Iida's words, feeling the truth and pasion right behind them...he felt it. The presence of someone who was willinging to truly put their life on the line to save another. He may not have the bloodlust he wanted to inspire in others, to get them to understand that the only way to deal with Evil was to snuff it out, but he was young and his heart...he could tell it was in the right place.
And he knew who this boy was. No doubt Ingenium's brother, one who held such anger yet kept it reserved in favor of what was right. He was going to do great things...should he survive.
"I see...maybe you're not the fake I had believed. Try not to die so easily then, boy." Stain said, his mask residing back a bit to show his true face. He could feel the creature within him hiss in disapproval, but it quickly backed off upon feeling his killer intent released upon it. "Show me your Heroic Spirit! Show me!"
Iida remained still for a moment before finally charging forward, knowing there much more on the line than his own life.
(Hosu City, Rooftops)
While chaos brewed in the city, one individual was ready for his own hunt. Corvus looked upon the flames growing within, knowing that the Heroes and Exodus would be taking care of it. He had his mission; the complete Annihilation of Stain and his Symbiote.
'Are you ready, partner? This one will not go down without a fight.' Mimic reminded him once more. Looking upon the rifle he had picked out, along with feeling Mimic's power within him, he felt more ready than before.
"Of course." Corvus said aloud, knowing none could hear him outside of his...partner. He could feel her puring with approval as he looked down into the city once more.
Then he leapt forward.
(Chapter End)
A/N: And another successful chapter. All pieces are set and the Hosu Incident has officially begun. Now I honestly don't have much to say here given how everyone was already preparing to come out here from the last chapter. All that really needs to be known is that Iida has a better reason to start facing off against Stain here than before. And I'm well aware of how corny it may be, but it's fitting for My Hero and Iida's character. Next time we get the fight between a rising generation of Heroes against a currently passionate man with a symbiote.
That should be everything, so I hope you liked it, that you reviewed and overall that you're having a good day. Until next time!
Reviews
Ushindi: Amazing chapter and nice early Christmas gift for us readers. Poor Eri, I really hope Kai rots in hell for what he has done to Eri. Everyone is doing good in their internship, but I think Stain arc is going to be very chaotic especially when Stain has a symbiote. The heroes are going to have a bad time.
1. What would you do if choose Overhaul fate? I would choose him for to be executed with no problem.
2. So is Gentle Criminal and La Brava Anti Villains?
3. What if Sasuke and Naruto switched places, would Naruto be a good antagonist like Sasuke and Madara, I mean considering since his childhood he's been treated as a monster because of people from Leaf thinking he's the Kyuubi, that would have been a reason for Naruto if he decided to be evil.
Answers: Everyone is always in for a bad time when a Symbiote is involved, but as you can see the Chaos is here and isn't exactly the worst it could have been.
1: Oh come now. If I told you, there would be spoilers. Though you can imagine things that only Nico Robin could think of.
2: They're jackasses. Regardless of how sad Criminal's story is, he is actively getting in the ways of other Heroes and causing more harm than good. La Brava doesn't have any excuse either.
3: He had the right to be an antagonist for the longest, but the plot deemed it worthy for him to be a Hero. Though I'm glad it's the case, it wouldn't be watchable I think if it were that easy to break down Naruto.
Thanks as usual.
EANID: Looks interesting
Answer: Thank you!
MBS41:Damn I was just reading your story this morning and you suddenly updated glad you thought.
Answer: Guess I have better timing than I thought. Thanks!
