"Hear me out before you say no." Luna said as she stormed into Hermione's room not bothering to knock at all. Hermione had been helping Xenophilius test the yeti fur and was now sitting at the desk in her room organizing her notes. Luna's appearance surprised her for a couple reasons one Hermione thought she was supposed to be at work and two usually Luna would respect Hermione's privacy and never just walk in without permission. Her just coming in saying what she said put Hermione immediately on the defensive.

"Why do I have the feeling whatever you say next is going to make me angry?" Hermione asked.

"It's not going to make you angry." Luna denied. "At least I hope it won't."

"Tell me and I'll decided whether or not to hex you." Hermione would never actually hex Luna but then again Luna really hadn't upset her to the point Hermione even considered it.

Luna took a deep breath to calm down before she spoke. She needed to be careful how she worded what she was about to tell Hermione so the brown haired woman wouldn't just dismiss Luna outright. "As you know I had the meeting with the Delacours today?"

"Yes and you didn't know why they wanted to talk to you." Hermione didn't understand how any of this would matter to her.

"Well they came to me for some help. Apparently Bill has been using a love potion on Fleur and has been for years." Fleur hadn't expected the rage that overcame Hermione's entire being.

"HE WHAT!" Hermione roared.

Luna held her hands up in front of her. "Yeah, they think it started at the beginning of the war but it seemed to me they aren't really sure."

"Has he been arrested yet?" If he hadn't Hermione was going to have to pay the red headed weasel a visit. Using a love potion on someone was such a Weasley thing to do.

"That's the thing. Fleur said that she has started the divorce proceedings but they hadn't pressed charges against him yet." Luna said.

"Why not?" Hermione didn't understand what they were waiting for.

"The reason for them not going forward with the case is the same reason they came to see me." Luna ran a hand through her hair trying to figure out the right way to tell Hermione about the meeting and the letter but realized that just putting it out there was the best thing to do. "They somehow found out that I was connected to you and came to me to ask if I would set up meeting between you and the Delacours."

"Why would would they want to meet with me?" Hermione was always wary of people wanting to meet with her. Even if they didn't know who Hermione was and she was in one of her disguises.

"I asked them the same thing. I was told that it had to not only do with the case against Bill but some Veela secret that only Fleur could personally tell you about." Luna said.

"Veela do protect their history and way of life from outsiders. It does make me wonder what exactly they want to talk about if they couldn't tell you. Especially because I doubt they were able to find any other ways to contact me." Hermione was now intrigued. She had tried to research Veela before but even the texts she found about them were rare and didn't have many details about the species.

"I did get the feeling that I was their only hope of finding you." Luna felt that the look of interest on Hermione's face was a good sign she would actually read the letter Luna had to give her. If Luna was reading her right it seemed the only thing that Hermione was really angry about was the love potion situation. That was a good sign that Hermione would be open to hearing the Delacours out.

"So what, were you suppose to set up a meeting if I was interested because even though I am I'm not sure I want to get involved with this. We both hate the Weasleys and would love to get some payback but I don't know what I can actually do to help Fleur. I've been gone a long time my name doesn't hold that much weight anymore." Hermione said.

Luna rolled her eyes at her friend. "Only you think your name doesn't hold any kind of weight anymore. I know you don't like it but you are still the most respected member of the Wizarding community. I'm not sure exactly what the Delacours want you to help them with but if you were backing their claim against Bill then he would be convicted without much of a fight."

"Why would they need me to help against Bill?" Hermione asked.

"I know you don't think like this so it's hard for you to wrap your mind around it but Veela are magical creatures. They don't have the same rights as humans in our courts. Without help the case against Bill would get thrown out even if they had the man's confession." Luna liked that her friend treated anyone or anything she met with respect. It didn't matter to Hermione if you were a goblin, human or carried a blood curse and turned into a horrible beast. Hermione treated them all the same. In her mind everyone deserved a chance. What they did with that chance was up to them. It was something Luna admired about Hermione but it sometimes made her blind to the plight of others that didn't exist in her small social circle.

"Ahh yes the bigotry that still runs rampant throughout our world. After the war I wonder how some of these people are able to hold on to such beliefs." Hermione wanted to say she couldn't believe after a war over the purity of one's blood was fought that the government would continue to discriminate against others but one of the things that she learned in her travels was that some humans liked being able to abuse others just because they could. There was no rhyme or reason to it. Some people where just evil.

"Yes and it's because of those beliefs that a scum of a man will probably get away with drugging a woman and taking advantage of her for years. Worse a Weasley will get away with it." Luna knew it was a low blow but her and Hermione's mutual hatred of the Weasleys always forced Hermione to react.

Hermione thought through all she knew about the effects of love potions. From what she could remember she didn't want to think about what Fleur's life had been like for the years she was exposed to it. Bill had taken her free will away and if Luna was right then he was going get away with. "I can't let that happen."

"I would think less of you if you did." Luna told her.

"I would think less of me as well." Hermione agreed. "How do I get in contact with the Delacours?"

"They actually gave me a letter to give to you." Luna pulled the letter out of her suit jacket pocket and handed it to Hermione. "Although I'm interested in what they have to say I got the impression that it wasn't meant for anyone but you to see. I'll leave you alone while you read it and you can tell me what you want when you are done."

"Thank you for making me see reason my friend." Hermione said.

"You would done the right thing either way. I just helped you do it a little sooner than if left on your own." Luna gave her a smile as left the room closing the door behind her.

"Ok now that you have committed to this let's see what they have to say." Hermione was surprised at how badly her hands were shaking as she broke the seal on the letter.

Ms. Granger,

My name is Sabine Delacour and I am the clan elder of the Delacour family. I apologize for ambushing your friend but it was of the upmost importance that I speak to you. My granddaughter Fleur whom I'm told you know has been the victim of a love potion. Her husband Bill has been giving it to her since the beginning of the war. She said that before the potions she didn't even like Bill as a person so I would think you understand how devastating it is for her to find herself in this position. Forced to be involved with and marry a man she originally disliked. I don't want to tell her secrets but I will be honest with you Ms. Granger Fleur has found herself in a deep depression that I'm worried she won't be able to get out of alone. I'm not asking you to help her with this however. I simply tell you this because if Bill does not get convicted for his crimes then I fear for the effects it will have on Fleur. I know it is a lot to ask but will you please help us. As magical creatures we have little rights but if you stood with us and lent your support it would not only be of help to Fleur but other magical creatures as well. With your help this case could lay the foundation for better rights for not only Veela but other magical creatures as well. I know it is a lot to put on you but from the research I've done on you I know that you will at least think about it and not brush it aside right away. If you are willing to help I would like invite you to our home in France for a meeting. If you aren't willing to help will you at least send us a letter letting us know so that we don't wait on word from you.

Thank you for taking the time to read this,

Sabine Delacour

Clan Delacour Elder

Hermione reread the letter again and sighed. If she wasn't committed to helping before she read the letter she would be now that she had. She wanted to proudly proclaim that she was helping so that magical creatures could get the justice they deserve but she wouldn't lie to herself. She was helping for Fleur.
