The next day, in an emergency court session a judge immediately granted restraining and protection orders against Mayhorn to protect Vic and Lucas from any more possible threats from him.

The verbal and physical threats, the harassment charges, and the granted restraining orders give HR more than enough right within the law, departmental policy, and Mayhorn's contract to terminate him and have him stripped of all his benefits.

Sarah and her team evaluated the situation and agreed it was the best option. He couldn't be on a scene with either of them because of the restraining order and the department didn't have the time or resources to ensure that doesn't happen. It also gave him less of a chance of knowing where they were. It was bad enough that for Mayhorn to know where he could or could not go, he had to know both of their addresses.

Vic and Luke had already told her that they would return to work after their suspensions were up. They were not going to stop doing their jobs because someone had a problem with their relationship.

Sarah sent their evaluations and recommendations to the ACO, and he agreed so he started writing up the paperwork.

Mayhorn's crew was upset that he was arrested and fired but they also knew that his response and his actions were out of line. One of them was an old academy buddy of Travis' and he sent Travis a text saying that they didn't agree with Mayhorn and that they had Vic and Luke's backs.

Travis passed the message on to them and they were happy to know that they wouldn't have to worry about them as well.

Tanner called earlier and told them that the judge at Mayhorn's arraignment had decided it was best if he was remanded without bail and Vic breathed a sigh of relief. Right now, neither of them had to worry about how his crew was going to take it or whether he was going to keep coming after them.

Both of those questions had been answered. Luke and Vic decided to have a movie night at their place and invited everyone. They told them to bring a change of clothes if they planned on staying the night.

Everyone decided that a movie night and a sleepover was exactly what they needed. They all showed up at the address they were given within the next hour or so.

Luke ordered pizzas and they set up his projector in the basement to watch the movies. They picked a few random movies from Lucas and Vic's extensive collection and we're up into the wee hours of the morning laughing and enjoying each other's company. They separated into the four guest rooms and Vic and Luke headed up to their bedroom around three a.m.

Luke, ever the early riser was up first around nine-thirty, and after planting a kiss on Vic's forehead, headed downstairs to make breakfast for everyone. He pulled out the griddle and the ingredients he would need to make his homemade pancake batter, he grabbed some bacon from the fridge and sausage patties from the freezer and started pulling everything together.

Vic, having recognized the familiar sounds of Luke in the kitchen, was up next and wandered down to greet him.

"Morning, love." He says as she walks up behind him and wraps her arms around his waist.

"Morning." She replies and moves to turn on the coffee pot.

"Should we cut up some fruit too?" She asks once the coffee is going.

"That sounds wonderful. Do you wanna work on that while I keep everything going over here." Luke smiles over his shoulder. Vic nods.

"Yeah, I'll do that right quick." She said as she pulled out strawberries, blueberries, bananas, raspberries, and apples to set out. She washed everything before slicing the strawberries, bananas, and apples. She pulled out a platter and set the fruit out on it and went to set out the sugar, milk, and creamer for the coffee so that it was out when they were eating. She also pulled out several mugs so they wouldn't have to look for them.

Jack, Dean, and Travis were the first to show their faces around ten-fifteen and Sullivan followed soon after. Vic went to wake Maya and Andy once everything was ready around ten-thirty.

"Maya, Andy, breakfast is ready, coffee's hot, let's go eat," Vic called into the room the two women had shared and the two groaned but got up and followed her to the kitchen. The guys had already moved everything to the table except for the coffee and sat down to eat, Andy and Maya went straight for coffee and poured it into the mugs before moving over to the table.

Vic sat next to Luke and they all made their plates before eating quietly. Luke being the only morning person in the group thought it was quite amusing to see all the pout-like expressions on their faces. Vic saw the smirk on his face and chuckled.

"Stop enjoying our misery. We're not made to be morning people." Luke chuckled.

"Obviously." He teased.

"He still gets up at the crack of dawn, doesn't he?" Sullivan asked. Vic nodded.

"Even on his days off." She replied.

"Why?" Maya asked, almost incredulously.

"He's made to function at the crack of dawn. I, however, am not." Vic replied with a yawn.

Over time conversation picked up and they soon finished eating. They all helped clean everything up and then went back to the rooms where they had slept and got ready to leave. Once they were gone, Vic and Luke sat on the couch and enjoyed the other's presence.

"Eggy?"

"Yeah?"

"Since we have the time now that we're suspended, do you wanna take that vacation?" Vic's eyes lit up.

"Where were you thinking?"

"You have a passport?" He asked.

"Yep."

"Let's get far away from here, even if it's just a week or so before we have to go back to work and deal with the fallout and drama."

"How far?" She asked.

"Italy? Greece? Spain? Wherever you want to go, love." Vic smiled and leaned into his shoulder as they went back and forth over possible destinations and the pros and cons of each one.
