Donut Friendship – Chapter 19: Spider Sister
Two girls we're sitting on a bench in the Kimetsu park. One was talking while the other was enjoying her ice cream and listening. The two we're friends, even though one was way more talkative than the other.
"…and after that, I asked Rui if he got the job!" said one girl
LICK* the other licked her ice while she listened to her
"And he said yes! I was so happy when I heard that!"

"So now, we are working together!"
LICK*
"It's really awesome! We see each other every day now!"
LICK*
"And sometimes… Rui even asks me about my day!"
LICK*
"So... um… did Rui say something about me… at home?" the girl asked
The other girl stopped licking her ice cream and glanced at her friend.
The two girls were Mukago and Rui's older sister. They knew each other from the academy and sometimes, they hang out together.
The sister looked Mukago in the eyes and spoke up.
"No." she replied and got back to licking her ice cream
"Ah… alright…" Mukago replied with a sad tone

"Anyway, do you think that Rui-" Mukago asked again but was cut off
"ALRIGHT, LISTEN UP." the sister interrupter her and faced her
"I get it… I really do. For some unexplainable reason, you're interested in my stupid-ass brother." said the sister
"But can you please… just for today… stop talking about him? I would like to enjoy my Rui-free day… Please?" the sister continued
"Oh… s-sure! I am sorry! Haha…" Mukago replied with an awkward smile
"Good. Thank you." the sister replied and got back to her ice

"Quick question. Could you give me Rui's phone number?"
"Bye." said the sister as she got up and left

Even thou Rui and his sister spent a lot of time together, the two were not on good terms. They didn't hate each other, but they just couldn't get along. Now, Rui found himself a part-time job, which resulted in the two spending a lot of time alone away from each other. It was a nice change for the sister, so she wanted to spend her Rui-free time without thinking about him.
After leaving the Kimetsu Park, the sister walked through the town, with no goal in mind. After some walking, she sat down on a bench, thinking about what to do next.
"Hmmm… Maybe I should get something to eat?" she thought to herself
She took a deep breath and looked around, trying to find someplace to eat. As she was looking around, she realized where she was.
"Oh… how convenient…" she mumbled to herself, as she realized that she was sitting on the bench in front of the Kamado bakery
Looking behind her, she saw the Kamado bakery. She was here a few times already, buying donuts for her mother. Thinking about the donuts, the sister drooled a bit. After realizing that she drooled, she quickly looked around herself, making sure nobody saw her.
After checking her surroundings, she got up and walked into the bakery. Right after she opened the door and walked in, she was greeted by a female voice.
"Hello!" said a female voice
Looking at the counter, the sister saw Nezuko, sitting behind the counter, smiling at her.
"Hey…" she replied
Nezuko scanned her with her eyes and realized who she was.
"Hey! You're Rui's sister! We were at the beach together last week. Remember?" Nezuko asked with a big smile
"Ugh… Yeah. Don't remind me about that…" the sister replied as she thought about how her mother managed to embarrass her
Nezuko smiled to that.
"Anyway! What can I get you? Does your mother or Rui send you to buy something?" Nezuko asked
The sister looked at her with an annoyed expression. Even here, people wouldn't stop asking about her brother.
"No… Nobody sent me. I decided to stop by and get something for myself." the sister replied and glanced at the display shelf
"Hihihi… Well, you've come to the right place!" Nezuko replied and glanced at the display case
"As always, everything is fresh!" Nezuko added
As she was looking at the display shelf, the sister realized something.
"Ehm… wait, why are you here?" the sister asked, to which Nezuko looked at her confused
"The last time I was here, your brother was behind the counter. Do you both work here?" she added
"Oh! Yes! Well… sort of! Right now, he is really busy with his studies at the academy… so I take care of the bakery instead of him!" Nezuko explained
"…ok." the sister replied
"Don't worry. I still give you the friends and family discount!" Nezuko added
"Perfect. Thanks." the sister replied with a smile, to which Nezuko giggled
After picking a few donuts, Nezuko put them in a bag and gave it to the sister. She paid, and was about to leave, but then Nezuko spoke up.
"Hey, can I ask you something?" Nezuko asked
The sister wanted to leave and go eat her donuts, but she knew that she had to talk to her. It was the least she could do for getting a discount.
"Well… sure… but please, make it quick." the sister replied with the donut bag in her hands
"Of course! Well, you see… we're getting a lot of costumers lately!" Nezuko explained
"…" the sister nodded and listened to her
"And my brother has no time to work in the bakery now!"
"…"
"And with so many customers, it's really hard with only me and my mother here!"
"…"
"So we decided to hire some more staff!"
"…"
"And a few days ago, two guys applied for the job!"
"…eh"
"But sadly, it didn't work out!"
"..." the sister looked at Nezuko annoyed, still holding her bag
"So after that, my mother and I decided to-" as Nezuko was explaining, she was interrupted
"GET TO THE POINT!" the sister yelled as she held the bag and stared at Nezuko
"Ups! Sorry! Hahaha!" Nezuko laughed
"Grr…" the sister mumbled annoyed
"Are you looking for a part-time job?" Nezuko asked
"…huh?" the sister replied confused
"We are hiring! And if you're interested, you could work here!" Nezuko explained
"…" the sister just stared at her
"…" Nezuko just smiled at her
"No. Bye." the sister replied and quickly left the bakery
"Oh… ok. See you later!" Nezuko replied with a smile as she saw her leave in a hurry

"Finally! Now I can enjoy them!" the sister thought to herself as she sat down on a bench and opened her bag
She took a donut out, and as she was about to finally take a bite, her phone rang.
"This can't be real…" she mumbled to herself as she put the donut down and took her phone out
She looked at the name and her eye twitched.
MOTHER
"If this isn't an emergency…" she mumbled angrily and picked it up
"What!? I am very busy right now!" she yelled
"Oh! Thank god you picked up! I need your help! This is an emergency!" the mother replied
Hearing that, the sister calmed down a little bit.
"Ugh… alright. What is it? What happened?" the sister asked
"Rui just called and said that he will not be able to bring me my food this evening!" the mother explained
"…" the sister was speechless, and her jaw dropped a little
"So, can you please bring me something to eat? Otherwise, I won't have anything for dinner tonight! I would love it if you could buy me some of those donuts from the Kamado bakery!"
"…" the sister was still speechless and her eye twitched again
"Hello?"
"…"
"Hello? Can you hear me? This is an emergency!" said the mother
The sister hung up and finally enjoyed her donuts.
"I hate my family…" she thought to herself, as she took another bite
AUTHOR'S NOTE: I had fun writing this chapter. I really like Spider Sister, hope she gets a scene in the Kimetsu Gakuen manga. Next time, Kokushibo and Kaigaku need to explain their failure to Muzan… and they might get fired.
