Donut Friendship – Chapter 25: Working for Muzan (Nezuko edition)
"Mhmmmmmm…" Nezuko mumbled annoyed as she pressed her face against the car window
It was Tuesday morning and Nezuko and her mother were on their way to Muzan's company. Yesterday, Muzan tried yet again to get his hand on the secret recipe, and he even tried to buy the whole bakery. But after another rejection, he and Nezuko's mother made a deal. The mother offered Muzan, that her daughter would work for him for one week and teach him and his subordinates everything she knows about baking. Nezuko said that she didn't have a problem with that, but in reality, she was certain that he would reject the offer… but he accepted it. Now, she was about to spend another week not working with her brother.
"Ughhh…" she mumbled annoyed again as she thought about her bad luck
"Nezuko… if you don't want to do this, you don't have to." the mother said as she sat next to her and drove the car
"Nahhh… it's fine… I already said that I would do it. And it's only for one week." Nezuko replied and looked at her mother
The mother smiled and chuckled as she heard her.
"Don't worry! You will be able to work with your brother again very soon!" the mother replied
"Ye…" Nezuko replied
"And one more thing…" the mother added, to which Nezuko glanced at her
"The pay is really good… so look forward to it!" the mother said as she tried to cheer her up
"I don't do this for the money. I do this because I can hang out with my brother, and we get to see all the smiles of our customers… I doubt that that Muzan guy let's me work with any customers." Nezuko replied
"Imagine how much you get paid for working one week in our bakery…" the mother replied
"Ehm… yeah, ok. And now?" Nezuko replied as she thought about the money she would make for working 5 days in the bakery
"Now, imagine that 10 times…" the mother said with a smug smile as she glanced at Nezuko
"…" Nezuko didn't say anything, she just thought about those words
"…"
"…"
"I can't wait to start working for Mister Muzan!" she said with a big smile
The mother laughed and continued driving.

"We're here! Oh, it's closer than expected!" said the mother as she parked the car
"Yeah. It will take only about 20 minutes with the bus." Nezuko replied as she unzipped her seatbelt
On her first day, the mother wanted to drive Nezuko to Muzan's company, so she could see how far it is. Now, she knew that it was pretty close and that Nezuko would have no problems taking the bus for the rest of the week.
"Thank you for driving me here!" said Nezuko
"Oh, no problem! Do you mind if I go in with you? Just for a minute?" the mother asked
"Of course I don't mind, come on!" Nezuko replied, and the two walked towards the entrance
From the outside, Muzan's company looked pretty plain. With the exception of a few posters with Muzan's face, there was nothing that would indicate that this was his company's headquarters.
As the two were walking, Nezuko thought about Muzan and what it was that he does.
"Is he a politician who is also a successful businessman… or is he a successful businessman that became a politician?" she thought
At the entrance, they were greeted by a familiar face.
"Ah! Mister Kokushibo!" the mother said with a smile and a blush
Kokushibo was standing at the entrance, clearly waiting for someone. As he heard the mother's voice, he looked at her and smiled.
"Hello, lady Kamado." he replied and looked at Nezuko
"And hello to you too…" he added
"Ah! Hello mister Kokushibo! My name is Nezuko by the way… we never formally introduced!" she replied with a smile
"Nezuko… I hope you don't mind, but I don't use names often… with the exception of Master Muzan." he replied
"No problem!" she replied, to which he nodded
"I heard that you and Master Muzan made a deal…" said Kokushibo as he looked at her mother
"Yes! My girl is going to work with you for a week!" the mother replied smiling
He glanced at Nezuko and replied.
"Yes, I have heard about that…"
"Anyway! Now that I know that you're here, I am sure that my girl is in good hands!" the mother added
"Yes. I will make sure everything goes without any problems… and that your daughter returns to you alive." he replied
"Thank you!" the mother replied
"…alive?" Nezuko blinked a few times as she heard that
The mother laughed and hugged Nezuko.
"Alright, have fun! When you finish working, please call me and I come pick you up!" said the mother, to which Nezuko nodded
The mother waved at the two and went back to her car. Now, Kokushibo and Nezuko were standing alone at the entrance.
"So… you're going to work for master Muzan. I hope you're ready." said Kokushibo as he faced her
"Hahaha… I hope so too." Nezuko laughed awkwardly and replied
"Alright… follow me. If you have any questions, please ask right away…" he said and walked in, with Nezuko following him

"This is the main lobby…" said Kokushibo as the two walked
"Nice lobby." Nezuko replied as she looked around
"I know that it looks pretty plain… But that is the point." said Kokushibo and glanced at her
"Hm?" Nezuko mumbled confused
"Without knowing that these are Master Muzan's headquarters, would you think that this is the main base of operation of a rich and powerful man?" he asked
"N-No… I would think that this is just a normal company." Nezuko replied
"Good. That's how it is supposed to be." Kokushibo replied and called the elevator
After a few seconds, the door opened and the two stepped in. Kokushibo pressed a button and the door closed. The elevator started moving, and elevator music started playing.
"…"
"…"
"…"
"…so… uhm… I never worked anywhere else other than the bakery… I hope I don't screw things up… hahaha…" said Nezuko and laughed awkwardly
"Don't worry. Master Muzan won't ask anything unreasonable from you…" Kokushibo replied
"That's good!" Nezuko replied
"…I hope." Kokushibo added, to which Nezuko just smiled and nodded, sarcasticaly
As the two were talking, the door of the elevator opened. They stepped out and entered a large open common room. The room was the common area for everyone and connected all the important rooms. As Nezuko was following Kokushibo, a voice called to them.
"Hey! It's good to see you again!" said a male voice
"Oh…" mumbled Nezuko, as she recognized the voice
Kokushibo turned around and faced the guy.
"How is it going, girl?" said Doma as he walked towards the two
"Good. Mister Muzan accepted my mother's offer, and now I am here." Nezuko replied with a plain expression
"Cool! And I got a sweet little promotion for that! Isn't that right Kokushibo?" he asked with a smug smile as he glanced at Kokushibo
"Yes… sadly…" he replied
Doma looked back at Nezuko.
"He is getting nervous!" he said as he pointed at Kokushibo, who was looking at him with a plain expression
"At the moment, he is upper rank 1, and I am upper rank 2! That means that it is very likely that I take his position in the near future!" Doma explained
"You have a ranking system here?" Nezuko asked
"Oh yeah! There are upper rank employees and lower rank employees! I was supposed to become upper rank 2 a while ago, but because of your stupid brother, I got denied my promotion…" Doma explained, with annoyance in his voice
"You mean the time when you kidnapped me and tried to blackmail him?" Nezuko asked
"Yep!" Doma replied with a smile again
"But at least one good thing came out of it. Do you remember that big cage I trapped you in? I sold it and made a profit!" he added
"Congratulations…" Nezuko replied annoyed as she thought about that time she was kidnapped
As the two were talking, Kokushibo stepped in.
"You can talk with her later. I need to bring her to Master Muzan now."
"Haha! Of course! Don't let me stop you!" Doma replied and waved at the two
"Bye." Nezuko replied and followed Kokushibo

"…"
After a few steps, Nezuko spoke up.
"Are you friends with him?"
"No." Kokushibo replied
"Good." Nezuko replied
Hearing that, Kokushibo chuckled and glanced at her.
Reaching the other side of the room, the two stood in front of a door.
"Alright, here is Master Muzan's office. He wants to speak with you and after that, I will show you around and introduce you to some people…" Kokushibo explained
"I am ready!" Nezuko replied with determination
Kokushibo nodded and opened the door. The second he opened the door, screams could be heard coming from the inside…
"I AM SORRY! I AM SORRY! I WILL NOT FAIL YOU AGAIN! PLEASE, FORGI-AHHHHHHH!" yelled a guy as he was kicked out of the window by Muzan
After taking care of his employee, Muzan slowly turned around and faced the two.
"Master Muzan, she is here… and she is ready to begin." said Kokushibo
"I am not ready…" Nezuko mumbled in a quiet voice, as she saw Muzan, with all of her determination gone in an instant
Muzan looked at the two and nodded.
"I see..." he said with a smile as he looked at Nezuko
"…" Nezuko just stared at him, scared for her life
Even though she saw Muzan a couple of times now, his aura was way scarier than usual. Mostly because this meeting wasn't taking place in the safety of her bakery.
"I am very happy that I and your mother managed to come to an agreement…" he continued
Nezuko nodded, too afraid to say anything.
"I am sure you're going to be useful to me and work hard…" he continued
Nezuko nodded again, this time faster.
"And that you won't fail me… I don't like it when people fail me. Will you fail me?" he asked with a serious expression
Nezuko shook her head really fast.
"That's good to hear… or see… whatever." he said and walked to the two
Now, standing in front of the two, he looked at Nezuko.
"Are you ready?" he asked
"GULP* Y-YES!" Nezuko replied
"Good. Take her to the others… and explain everything." Muzan commanded as he looked at Kokushibo
"Understood." Kokushibo replied
Muzan nodded and looked at Nezuko again.
"Oh I almost forgot! Welcome… to Muzan Inc." he said with a evil smile

"Uwahhh… now I know what you meant by me coming back alive…" Nezuko mumbled, still scared as she walked next to Kokushibo
"Yeah. Just do what I tell you, and you will be fine…" Kokushibo replied
Hearing those words, Nezuko calmed down.
"Well, where are we going now? The company kitchen?" she asked
"Not yet. First, you will meet your team…" he replied
"Team?" Nezuko asked confused

Inside a small meeting room, three people gathered.
"Why are we here? Why have we been summoned? HUH?! ARE WE ALL GOING TO GET FIRED?!" though Kaigaku as he sat at the table
Nervously, he glanced at the other two sitting at the table with him.
"Ahh! I am really nervous! We have never been summoned like this before!" said Mukago with an excited smile
"Yep…" Rui replied as he played with his phone, without even glancing at her
"B-but… I feel safe with you here… Rui…" Mukago added with a blush
"Whatever." Rui replied as continued playing with his phone
Seeing the two, Kaigaku blinked a few times.
"Yeah… we are going to get fired…" he thought to himself as he accepted his fate
As he was thinking, the door opened and Kokushibo walked in.
"Mister Kokushibo? What's going on?" Kaigaku asked
"Be quiet. I will explain everything." Kokushibo replied and looked at the door
"Come on in." he added
Hearing that, Kaigaku and Mukago glanced at the door.
"Nezuko?!" Mukago said with a surprised voice
"Huh!? You?" Kaigaku said surprised too
"Hm? Ah! Mukago! Kaigaku! Ah?! Rui too!" Nezuko said surprised and with a smile as she saw the three
Hearing his name, Rui turned around and glanced at Nezuko.
"Oh… Hi." he said and turned around again, continuing playing with his phone
"W-W-What are you doing h-here?" Kaigaku asked confused
"I am going to work here for a few days!" Nezuko replied and moved to the three
"Really!? That's awesome!" Mukago replied, to which Nezuko smiled
Seeing everyone's reaction, Kokushibo decided to begin with the explanation.
"Alright, take a seat. I will explain now what you will be doing in the next few days…"
Nezuko nodded and sat down. Now that she knew that she would be working with her friends, her mood was lifted again, and she was eager to begin.
"Master Muzan has managed to make a deal with the Kamado Bakery. For the next few days, this girl, Nezuko, will work here and teach you." Kokushibo explained
"Teach us?" Kaigaku asked confused
Nezuko looked confused at Kokushibo.
"Yes. She will teach you everything… about making donuts." he added
"Making donuts? Oh, are we going to cook together?" Mukago asked excited as she looked at Nezuko
"You want me to teach you how to make donuts?" Nezuko asked
"Yes. In the next few days… your job is going to be to teach these 3 everything about making donuts…" Kokushibo explained
"Y-Yes! I can do that! That sounds like a lot of fun!" Nezuko replied with a big smile
Kaigaku still looked confused.
"Making donuts? But I am not good at cooking…" said Kaigaku, to which Nezuko looked at him
"Don't worry! It's easy! I will teach you everything that I know!" Nezuko reassured him and smiled at him
"Ah! S-Sure… Thanks…" he replied with a blush
As the three were looking forward to the next few days, Rui put his phone down and looked at Kokushibo.
"Hey…" said Rui
"What is it?" Kokushibo replied
Rui glanced at everyone and then back at Kokushibo.
"I guess that mister Muzan expects us to make the best donuts ever… right?" Rui asked
"Of course. Anything less than that and every single one of us is getting fired… which also includes me." Kokushibo replied
Hearing that, everyone's smile disappeared in an instant.
"But don't worry. I will make sure that you ALL work hard…" Kokushibo added, with a menacing expression
AUTHOR'S NOTE: So, for a few days now, Nezuko is going to work for Muzan, while Tanjiro works alone at the bakery! Next time, Ume visits the bakery yet again and becomes jealous after meeting another girl from the academy… #FREEDONUTS #WEHADADEAL
