I know a few might hate me for this but in my opinion Ronnie is the most attractive version of Regina, I'm sorry but I guess she's just my type, that is where i got Regina's outfit inspo from for this chapter!
Anyway moving on, I dont own ouat blah blah blah, you know the drill.

Regina was getting ready, she'd could have sworn she'd tried on more clothes than she believe she had, she wasn't sure what she was stressing about, it's not like she hadn't been on a night out with Emma before. She finally settled for tight, high-waisted blue jeans with a white tucked in tank top, a black leather jacket and black heeled boots. It was causal but she still looked good, she let her hair fall naturally and went with a more subtle make up look than usual, a light pink matte lipstick, a little bit of shimmer on her eyes and small black wings. She was beginning to feel nervous again, butterflies ever so present in her stomach, it's only Emma she kept thinking to herself, its not like this is a date, it's just Emma.
"You look beautiful" Robin whispered in her ear, sneaking up behind her and laying a small kiss on her neck.
She span round in his arms and looked up at the man she was destined to be with, he was looking at her with such love in his eyes, her heart sank a little in her chest, she loved him she really did, but deep down she knew that she wasn't in love with him, but she could learn to be, she had to learn to be, this was her happy ending, this was the way things were meant be be. She reached up and ran her hand through his hair, pulling him into a deep kiss, pushing the nagging voice that told her, my happing ending isn't a man, to the back of her mind.
"Thank you" she whispered
"I have to go pick Roland up, make sure you have a good night, I love you" he smiled and kissed her on the forehead.
"I love you too" she replied, choking down the sour taste that those three words left in her mouth.
Regina grabbed her bag and made her way out the front door and across the path to Emma's house. She lightly knocked on the door before entering, she headed for the living where she found Henry and Hook playing Mario cart, she giggled to herself and the frustrated look on Hook's face as he tried to figure out how the controller worked.
"Mom, where's Robin" Henry asked
"He's just picking up Roland, he will be over soon, is your mother ready?"
Before Henry had chance to reply Emma came down the stairs, almost running.
"I'm here, I'm here" Emma yelled, almost falling down the last step, she looked as nervous as Regina felt.
Regina turned, her heart skipping a beat as she looked up. Emma was dressed in black leather trousers, a tight white t-shirt, she'd traded her boots in for delicate high heels that were the same shade of blue as the jacket she had just picked up from the banister, her face was naked and her hair fell perfectly, she was beautiful, in everyway way. Regina shook herself out of it and offered Emma a small smile, she gave Henry a hug goodbye, Emma did the same and Regina tried and failed to hide the jealousy that consumed her as Emma kissed Hook.
The two bumped into Robin as they were heading out the door and he wished the ladies a good night.
The walk to The Rabbit Hole was silent but comfortable, the door dinged as they walked in and the two headed straight for the bar, Emma ordered two purple haze martinis and Regina looked at her, shocked.
"You aren't ordering a whiskey" Regina joked "Are you feeling okay?"
"I thought we could be sophisticated women for the evening and drink cocktails" Emma beamed
"Cocktails are dangerous" Regina winked, she had no idea why her brain allowed her to do such a thing but it seemed to have the desired affect as a blush flashed across Emma's face and Regina couldn't help but smirk.
They had decided to sit at a small secluded both right in the corner of the bar, there were a fair few cocktails down and Regina could feel the alcohol consuming her, Emma's fingers were playing with hers as they talked, she wasn't sure if it was intentional but she allowed it to happen, feeling warm at Emma's touch.
"Hook isn't my happy ending" Emma says, slurring her words just a little "He's just..."
"Easy" they both said at the same, brown eyes met green once as again as they exchanged smiles.
"But you are happy with Robin" Regina didn't know if it was a question or a statement, but Emma didn't miss the sad look in her eyes as Regina whispered "yes"
Emma grabbed them another drink and the topic changed to things they were going to do with Henry with weekend. Before they knew it, it was 2am and the bar was closing.
"Are you fucking serious?" Regina giggled as they walked down the road "You haven't slept with Captain Guyliner yet, it's been months Emma" Regina didn't know how they'd got onto this subject but she couldn't help the relief she felt at hearing those words.
"Alright, just because you slept with Robin while he was still married"
"Hey!" Regina squeezed Emma's hand, drawing a small yelp from the blonde. She doesn't know when the hand holding had begun but Regina had convinced herself that it was just to hold each other up. "In my defence, his wife was under a curse at the time!" Regina smiled slightly remembering that very time in her vault, where she truly thought Robin was her 'soulmate'
"I don't think that makes it any better Gina" Emma laughed, gripping her hand a little harder
They arrived at Emma's door, a sudden sadness hit Regina, she doesn't want this night to be over.
"Thank you for coming tonight Gina, I had a great time" Emma whispered. Goosebumps covered Regina's body, her heart was racing, hands still intertwined. Regina suddenly realised how close they were, foreheads touching, she could feel Emma's breath on her lips.
She almost grabbed her and kissed her, right there and then, with their son and lovers on the other side of the door.
Almost...
