Donut Friendship – BONUS III
It was lunchtime at the Kimetsu Academy, and while most students ate their lunch in the school cafeteria, some preferred eating outside on a bench.
MUNCH* MUNCH*
"They are really good… It's no surprise that they are so popular… haha…" said a boy
"Hmmm! MUNCH*" replied the girl next to him and nodded
Murata and Rui's older sister were sitting on a bench together and eating donuts from a bag. Murata befriended her and spent a lot of time together with her. The sister didn't mind as long as he didn't annoy her… or as long as he brought her a bag of donuts from the Kamado bakery.
"I must stop eating so many of them. You know, don't want to get chubby!" she said with a teasing smile as she glanced at him
"Hahaha… don't worry, you look fine." Murata replied with a smile
Hearing that, the sister giggled and looked at him with a teasing smile again.
"I only look fine?"
"Huh? O-OH! N-No! You look better than… fine… y-y-you… ah!" Murata mumbled and started to panic, to which the sister laughed
"Calm down. I am just kidding. MUNCH*" she said and took another bite
"Oh. Right! Hahaha…" Murata laughed awkwardly
"Wimp." the sister said mockingly with a smile
"Ugh…" Murata mumbled
Spending time with her was pretty awkward sometimes, but Murata still liked it. It was fun chatting and spending time with her, while he was slowly building up his confidence. And today, it was the day. Today, he would finally ask her that one question.
Taking a deep breath, Murata looked at her with confidence.
"A-Ayaki… C-Can I ask you something?" he said
"What is it?" the sister asked and glanced at him
"W-W-Well… do you…" Murata mumbled
"…" the sister didn't say anything and just stared at him
"D-Do you have… a…" he continued mumbling
"…"
"…eh"
Hearing him mumble and stutter, the sister became slowly annoyed, and Murata noticed it. He needed to act fast, so he just closed his eyes and continued.
"D-D-DO YOU WANT TO BE A-"
"COUPLE!" yelled a voice
Hearing that, both Murata and the sister turned around and saw a guy with a smile pointing a finger at them.
The guy was older than them, and he was wearing the same clothes as the school janitor... and it was Doma.
"What." both mumbled confused as they saw him
"ANOTHER COUPLE!" he yelled again with a big smile as he was pointing at them
"W-WHAT?! What are you talking about?! Who are you?!" Murata panicked
"We're not a couple! What are you saying?!" yelled the sister
Hearing that, Doma stopped pointing at them.
"Hm? You're not? Oh… how sad… And here I was thinking I found another couple…" Doma said with a sad voice
"W-Who are you?!" Murata asked
"What are you doing here? Tired of annoying girls at the bakery already?" the sister asked, to which Murata looked at her
"Huh? You know this guy? Is he your friend?" Murata asked as he faced the sister
"Nah… he is just some random guy who keeps harassing girls on the street." the sister explained
"W-WHAT?! S-Should we call someone from the school staff?!" Murata asked
"Ah! If you want to talk to a staff member, one is right here! Look!" said Doma as he pointed at himself
Both Murata and the sister stared at him confused.
"I work here part-time now! I help the janitor, and he told me to sweep the leaves! And while I was doing that, I noticed you two!"
Both of them blinked a few times as they heard him.
"Y-You work here?" Murata asked
"Yes! And did you know? I met some of my friends here too! Just a few minutes ago, I met my good old friend Hakuji and his girlfriend! He was so happy to see me that he immediately got up and started running towards me! I am sure he wanted to hug me, but sadly for him, I was working. And everybody knows the rules! No hugs during work-time!" Doma explained
"I am sure he wanted to do something else than… hug you…" said the sister, to which Doma laughed
"Anyway!" he said and jumped over the bench, right in between the two
"WHA! Careful!" Murata yelled as Doma sat down next to him
"What are you two up to? Oh, I hope I am not disturbing something important? Hmm?" Doma asked with a teasing smile
"N-No… We were just hanging out…" Murata replied, slightly annoyed
Hearing that, Doma smiled and looked at the sister.
"Hey you! Say, do you have a brother? You look really familiar!"
"Yes… you know Rui, that little nuisance?" the sister replied
"AH! I KNEW IT! Little Rui has a big sister! You two look very much alike!" Doma said with a smile
"I work with little Rui! Hey, little Rui's older sister, did he say something about me?" Doma asked
"No… and don't call me little Rui's older sister… that sounds so stupid…" the sister replied
"As you wish, little Rui's cute older sister!" Doma replied
"Ugh…" the sister mumbled annoyed
With both of them annoyed, Doma asked some serious questions now.
"Back to business! Listen, to tell you the truth, I am here on a super secret mission, and I need some help!" said Doma
"Huh? Secret… mission?" Murata asked
"Yes! But don't tell anyone! About my mission, do you guys happen to know any of Ubuyashiki's secrets?" he asked
"Huh?" the sister mumbled as she heard that
"Come on, anything helps! Does he have any allergies? Does he have any weaknesses? Is he afraid of something?" Doma continued
"Not… that I know of…" Murata replied as he thought about it
"Don't know. If you want to know that kind of things, you better ask his wife… or some other staff members…" the sister replied
Hearing their responses, Doma's good mood left him.
"Ohhhh… that's too bad… huh?" he said in a sad voice, but noticed something
"Hey! Is that a bag of Kamado Donuts? I love those!" he said as his smile returned
"Yes… you can take one if you want." Murata replied
"Really?! Oh, thank you, my friend! MUNCH*" Doma replied and took one, but as he did that…
"THERE YOU ARE!" yelled a voice from behind them
"Oh dear, looks like Hakuji really wants that hug! Sorry guys, I gotta go!" Doma said as he stood up
Before he started running, Doma faced the two one last time.
"Thanks for the donut!" he said with smile
"No problem." Murata replied
"Have a fun date, you two!" Doma added and started running away
"Will do- OH WAIT, WHAT? NONONO! THIS WASN'T A DATE! HEY!" Murata panicked, but it was too late, Doma ran away
Now the two were alone again, and Murata glanced at the sister, who had a plain look on her face.
"So… um… sorry…" Murata said embarrassed
"…"
"…"
"Today never happened?" the sister asked
"Deal." Murata replied and sat down next to her again…
