-A few hours later-
What happened a few hours ago seemed like a dream to William. He was (well of course) asleep. On a bed… that he didn't recognize. He was used to his normal bed in his room. But… he felt more comfortable. He feels at ease.
Then the door slowly opens.
It's Sailor Dee. Meta Knight orders her to check on William. Sailor Dee entered the room. He notices that William is still asleep. Sailor Dee doesn't want to wake him up… but, Sailor Dee must follow Meta's order. And so, Sailor Dee goes up to Willam's bed and begins waking him up.
"Hey, hey." Sailor Dee said as she slightly shook William.
William moaned a bit. He was still sleepy. It was only a few hours since he fell asleep in Meta's arms.
"Oh, yeah, I forgot, you're mute. Can you still communicate with me?" Sailor Dee asked.
William gave a blank stare while his eyes were still adjusting to the new room that he was in. "Hey, are you okay?" Sailor Dee was worried at the lack of responses that William didn't give to her question. Sailor Dee placed her nub on William's forehead. William then snapped back into reality looking at Sailor Dee wide eyed. William simply nodded at Sailor Dee, as if to give a false impression that he was okay. William's eyes slowly drifted around the room. The room had a tan carpet. It smelled fresh as if it had been just installed there. The walls were made of some sort of metal.
The other parts of the room were kinda bland since William didn't really have that many belongings. There were a few boxes but that was really it for the moment.
"So… Sir Meta Knight wants you to come over for breakfast"
William nods in response to Sailor's request for him. Sailor then grabbed one of William's nubs before taking him out of bed and to the bedroom door.
Sailor opened the door which led out into a small hallway that had windows on the left side of it and metal doors to the right side of it. The hallway had a chilly breeze that came with it. Making William shiver due to him not having the best body when it comes to the cold. The walk to the dining room was really awkward, Sailor didn't know what to talk about since she really didn't know William that well at all and William couldn't talk about anything since he really couldn't talk at all. So instead the muffled outside and the footsteps on the metal floor were the only sounds that could be heard for a while.
Finally they arrived at the dining room, well atleast to the door that led to the dining room.
"We're here!" Sailor Dee announced to William who was looking down at the floor at the time. Sailor Dee quietly opened the heavy metal door and quietly walked in.
The room wasn't all that big unlike the other rooms; it had many windows and furniture in it. There were 4 other people sitting at the table.
To the left of the table was Mace Knight with an empty plate and reading a book. Right next to Mace Knight was Axe Knight who looked very sleepy and was just dozing off due to his lack of sleep. Well he would sometimes get some good sleep some nights. He had been taking sleeping pills which helped a lot but some nights he just couldn't get any sleep. Recently he has been taking much stronger pills to help with his insomnia. They seem to be working really well but the other Knights are worried he might overdose someday on them and never wake up.
At the head of the table was Meta Knight who had already eaten his breakfast and had no plate in front of him at the moment. He had been silently watching the other Knights eat.
On the right side of the table were two plates untouched those Sailor assumed were for her and William. William and Sailor sat down at their respective seats. Meta Knight had purposefully made William sat fight next to him, to study his behavior.
"I'm so tired…"
Axe Knight had barely even touched his food. His eyes looked dull and tired. He looked like he was going to pass out at any moment.
"Having you been taking the medicine the doctor has been giving you"
"Yeah, but they aren't strong enough for me"
Axe paused for a second
"Sometimes I fall asleep very quickly and sometimes….. I just stay up all night looking at the ceiling waiting for the medicine to kick in and just nothing happens…"
Axe had pain in his eyes and Sailor could tell that. "Meta I don't think I can do any patrols or duties today….. I'm so sorry…"
Meta Knight just silently nodded to Axe Knight who could barely keep his eyes open at this point.
Sailor got up to her chair and went over to Axe and started to comfort him.
"Oh you poor thing, let me help you to your room." Sailor gently grabbed Axe Knight out of his seat and ushered him out of the room to his bedroom where he could sleep.
Now there were only 3 people in the room. Now William had been too busy eating his pancakes to notice Sailor and Axe Knight had left the room.
Meta Knight looked over to Mace Knight who was about done eating his food by this point.
"Mace, can you please clean the dishes while I have an important meeting to go to?"
"Of course sir!" Mace excitedly said always respecting Meta Knight and the orders that he would be given. Collected all the dishes including William's who had gotten done eating breakfast at that point in time. Mace then went to the kitchen which was connected to the dining room.
Meta then looked at William who was now looking back at Meta Knight with a blank stare.
"Come with me" Meta Knight's kind but stern tone would put anyone into place. Meta Knight then lightly grabbed one of William's nub hands and gilded him out of the room without saying a word.
The walk was quiet and awkward and only sounds that could be heard was Meta Knight's breathing and his heavy but calming footsteps that were at a constant rhythm. All at the same time he didn't let go of William and it seemed as if Meta Knight's grip had tightened.
They arrived at a fancy wood door, on the door was a sign 'Meta Knight's quarters'. This was Meta's personal office and by the looks of it Meta looked like he wanted to show William something. Meta Knight gestured to William to sit on the office chair that was behind a big office desk with many papers around on it. William climbed onto the office chair and sat on the expensive black fabric. Meta Knight then turned and opened a nearby filing cabinet. What he took out would change William's life forever. A single file was placed on the desk and it was implied for William to open it. William took a deep breath and opened said file. It was adoption papers that had been signed about a day ago at the orphanage William had been staying out for so many years seeing kids come and go.
William didn't know what to even think of this his mind was completely blank and empty with nothing to be seen in it. He felt a glove on his wings. Meta was lightly touching William's wings as if he was studying them with intrigue, the touch was light but firm. William could feel the gloves touching the rim of his rings flowing over the bumps and ridges with ease. It kinda really felt nice to William, it felt like a back rub for him but, for his wings.
William looked up to Meta Knight who was now at the other side of the desk now instead of right beside him. Meta Knight was looking straight at him with a blank stare. His eyes felt like he wanted to tell William something but eyes couldn't talk.
Meta Knight then raised one of his gloves up to his mask and placed it at the edge of the mask. He then grabbed it and slowly took it off, the mask slowly peeled off his face. William had a shocked expression plastered onto his face.
Meta Knight looked just like him, but with golden eyes instead of the blue eyes William had. Meta Knight's eyes had a face of embarrassment and shyness, it was as if Meta was embarrassed about his face and that was the reason why he would always hide it behind his mask.
William's eyes began to water; he felt that Meta Knight was someone he could relate to for once and someone who was like him but bigger. William jumped from the office chair into Meta Knight's arms. Meta Knight caught him and was confused by William's actions so he placed him on the floor.
William hugged Meta Knight and wouldn't let go; he finally let it all out now. William began to sob uncontrollably. They were not tears of sadness though they were tears of happiness. Meta Knight didn't know what to do at first when William hugged him and started sobbing, but after a bit he embraced William who was still sobbing at this time. Meta Knight had to admit he was touched by this moment and even shedded a few tears he must admit.
William must've been sobbing for what felt like hours on end. Finally he just couldn't sob anymore he was basically exhausted from sobbing so much for 20 minutes straight. William let go of the hug that he was in with Meta Knight.
William looked back at Meta Knight who was now looking down at William with a warm and welcoming smile. William smiled back at Meta Knight knowing that he had found someone that was just like him.
"I have another gift for you as well."
William was confused as to what else could top being adopted by another bat Kaabii just like him. Meta Knight then placed his mask back onto his face, and went to a wardrobe like cabinet. And he pulled a dark purple like cloth from the cabinet. But it wasn't a cloth, it was a cape just like Meta Knight that he was wearing right now.
William didn't know this at the time so he jumped off the chair to get a closer look at what Meta Knight was holding in his gloved hands. Meta then revealed it as a very high quality cape just like the one he wears but a bit smaller to fit William's size.
Meta Knight then nudged William to a mirror and then grabbed William's wings. The outside of the cape was mostly a deep purple and had a gold rimmed outside. The inside was of a snowy color. It was made of a very expensive and comfortable fabric.
Meta Knight was holding William's wings in an uncomfortable way; it made William flinch a couple times while Meta was trying to put it on. He slid William's wings into tight scraps to keep the wings in place. So that the wings could hide under the cape and for them to actually fit under said cape. They were at a downright position and put a lot of strain on William's wings since they are not used to being in such a position.
Once all was done and said, Meta Knight backed away from William so he could take a look at himself in the mirror. William immediately tried to take off the cape since he didn't like the weird feeling on his wings. Meta Knight Immediately stopped William from doing such a thing.
"William stop it, your wings will adjust to this 'new' position Meta Knight's response was demanding and stern to William. William immediately stopped trying to take off his new cape. Now William was staring at himself in the mirror, him and Meta Knight looked so similar. Well the only main difference was that Meta was older and had a blue skin tone compared to William's purple skin.
The door to Meta's room suddenly opened. "Sir Meta Knight it's time for your meeting that you scheduled with Sir Aurther"
It was Sailor Door who had come to tell Sir Meta Knight that it was about time for his meeting with some very important people to commence.
Meta Knight looked over to Sailor with a blank stare then nodded to her.
"Sailor while I am gone could you err, entertain Wiliam while I am gone"
"Oh yes, of course Sir Meta Knight it'll be my pleasure to play with William!" Sailor Dee said always willing to do whatever Meta Knight asked of her.
Meta Knight nodded and walked out of the room leaving only Sailer and William left in the room.
"So what do you like to do for fun?"
