It has been a couple weeks since William has been living with Meta and the rest of the Meta Knights. A Lot of changes can happen in under a month. Some of them are good and some of them are ugly. William and Meta Knight were in a Grassy field somewhere near Vegetable Valley.
At the moment Meta Knight was trying to get William to stop being a baby and to just try to atleast make an effort to fly. William though wasn't even budging a bit for Meta Knight. William was utterly terrified of heights and to be up so high with nothing protecting him from falling sounded terrifying for him.
"My son, you must overcome such fears that you face upon some point in your life. You cannot live in fear of things that prevent you from achieving great things in life, I want to make you a strong warrior that'll make you one of the next generation of Star Warriors!"
William was still not convinced by Meta's long monologue about how great he will be later in life. William huffed and shook his head showing he was still not interested by Meta Knight's words.
Meta Knight was now thinking of an idea to get William to get over his fears of such a normal thing.
He then got an idea, it wouldn't be the safest of ideas but it was an idea nonetheless.
William then turned his back to Meta Knight giving a chance to take advantage of this opportunity that had presented itself. Meta Knight quickly ran behind William and grabbed him with a stern and strong grip, but made sure not to hurt William.
Before William even had time to react, Meta Knight jumped up into the air holding William's back with a firm grip. William screamed at what Meta was doing and practically was struggling for his life just to get out of Meta Knight's grip.
Instead of bringing William back to the safety of the ground, he instead decided to go even higher and higher. William even got more and more terrified as the air got thinner and thinner.
Finally Meta Knight leveled out and started flying in some random direction above the clouds of Dreamland.
"See my little Kaabii there is nothing to be scared of up in the clouds, if anything….." Meta Knight paused for a minute making sure to choose his words carefully.
"If anything you shall be proud of such an ability you possess on your back. You are a lucky one I have to see to even see above the clouds. Not many people have such a chance to see such a spectacle like this."
William stops struggling with Meta Knight and looks around to his surroundings. Meta Knight was right, it was beautiful and breathtaking at points. The way the sun rays hit the clouds at such an angle amazed William. He felt like he was in a painting you would see in a mansion of some sort.
"I see you like it eh?" Meta Knight looks down from the sun and to William who had stars in his eyes as he looked at the skyline that was presented to him by Meta Knight.
Meta Knight then started to descend back to the area where they were training at.
After a while they finally made it back to the safety of the ground below and Meta Knight let go of William and allowed him to touch the ground which William was all too happy about.
But something was stuck in William's mind that feeling it made him feel so alive the breeze made him feel so calm and free. He had never felt a feeling like this before the feeling was something that he wanted to feel again. He wanted more of that feeling. It felt so GOOD!
Meta Knight cleared his throat
William turned back to Meta Knight who was waiting patiently for William to respond.
"So are you willing for me to show you how to use your gift?"
Meta knight pauses and looks at William waiting for him to give a response to him so he can stop waiting in the heat.
William nods slowly
"Great, now let me show you how you do it." Meta Knight starts positioning William in a launching position just like how Meta Knight does it. He angled William's feet into the starting position and relaxed his wings since they were really tensed up.
"Okay, so you just need to jump up and let your wings carry your weight. That will be what we will be practicing for most of the day today."
William nodded and he was not looking up at the sky, he was pondering what to do next. Could he do it or should he not because it would show even more people how much of a 'demon' a freak that he is.
No, he shouldn't listen to those losers always telling him what he could or could not believe or do in his life. It was not his time to shine, he was no freak, he is an amazing thing created by this universe, with the purpose of experiencing life to its fullest.
So with one jump into the air he flapped his wings as hard as he could so he could be lifted off the ground.
Surprisingly it worked somehow, William was flying barely but he was still flying nonetheless. Meta Knight couldn't be more proud of William taking his first steps at flying just like Meta Knight.
William was only a couple meters off of the ground but it still felt like alot to William since he had never actually flown on his own before in his entire life. William, had a huge smile on his face showing how happy he was to be able to do this, but he wasn't good at changing direction so he would need help with that. Thankfully Meta Knight was right beside him and started to guide him.
Meta Knight grabbed William's nub hand and started to guide him up a little higher so that he would have much more space to work with.
"So you got the flying technique down pretty easily in only a couple of minutes, which I must say I am impressed with….." Meta Knight turns to stare at William, but he doesn't say anything to William. He just stares at William as if he was thinking of something or just giving William a 1000 Mile stare since he couldn't even tell Meta Knight's emotions due to him not showing them much and also due to Meta always wearing the metal mask of his.
William didn't know how to react to this sudden and increasing uncomfortable moment of silence. Meta then shook his head, taking him back to reality.
"As I was saying you, have shown great improvements over the past month or so. I think I shall teach you how to change your direction when flying, shall we?"
Over the next hour Meta Knight taught William how to change direction while flying and it went pretty well for William. Meta Knight first held William slightly nudging him to move while flying till he got used to it.
-I little bit later-
"So now I am going to let go of you and I want you to do it on your own now my son."
Meta Knight let go of William to let him figure it out on his own. At first William was really unbalanced since Meta Knight Wasn't there to help him gain control again.
"Patience my child you just need to balance yourself"
After a couple minutes William was able to balance himself and prevented himself from crashing into anything. Finally William was able to move around and go in any direction his small wings could manage.
William had a huge smile on his face that he couldn't hide from anyone even if he tried. He felt so alive and free this feeling was so new to him it felt like he was had been given a whole new meaning to life.
Meta Knight while silent was incredibly proud of what he has managed to do with Williambin such a short amount of time.
While William was playing around in the sky with his new ability Meta Knight received a call from a familiar Kaabii.
Meta answered the call from the Kaabii that he had known all to well at this point since he was sent to this planet.
"Hello this is Sir Met-"
"Mety! Where are you? I've been waiting for 5 minutes POYO I am boooored!"
It was Kirby inpatient as always it seems he is only two hundred years younger then Meta but he still acted like a small child to Meta Knight.
"Kirby calm down I-"
"But Mety I am bored waiting is so boring!"
"Kirby what did I tell you about interrupting me while I am talking! I thought I have taught you about Knightly manners!
"Looks like I still need to teach you how to be respectful to, nonetheless I shall come over as soon as possible sorry for forgetting"
Meta Knight hangs up the phone and hides it away in his trusty cape.
Meta Knight then looks back at William who was still enjoying himself and trying to do all sorts of tricks he had seen over the years.
Meta Knight sighed he hates bringing bad news to people especially the ones who he cares about.
Meta knight looks up to William who now has noticed something was wrong and started to descend down to Meta Knight.
"I am sorry for the interruption but I must leave for some other duties…."
William had a saddened look on his face saying that he wanted to spend more time with Meta Knight and wanted to learn more tricks.
"Not to worry, I shall see you before you go to bed."
William smiled a bit at seeing Meta Knight before going to bed sounded splendid to him.
"Now if I may ask do you think you can fly all the way back to the Halbird without me?"
William nodded almost uncontrollably after Meta finished his sentence. William then gave a salute with a big grin on his face.
And jumped into the air before giving a wave to Meta and flying off to the Halbird which was in the distance.
— a long time later —
A dark figure landed on the Halbird, it was Meta Kinght. Meta Knight was exhausted from everything that he had done today. All he wanted to do now was just crash in bed without taking any of his armor off or anything.
But Meta Knight remembered the promise he had made all those hours ago. Even though Meta Knight's body was screaming to go to bed his mind was at a different place at the moment.
Meta Knight entered the Halbird. There was no sign of life whatsoever in the Halbird as far as Meta Knight could see he was the only one awake at this point.
He made his way through the lifeless Halbird that is always usually filled with activity but at this time of the day it was the graveyard hour. Meaning no one was around to see Meta Knight in this state which is good. Cause no one should see the state Meta is in since it would be embarrassing to show weakness.
Meta Knight walked through the empty halls of the Halbird, every step making his feet beg even more to at least rest for a bit. But Meta Knight ignored the cries to rest; he had other things to do.
Meta Knight finally reached the destination that he was looking forward to going to; it was William's bedroom.
Meta Knight stood there for a second contemplating if he should enter the room or not since William could be asleep at this time.
Meta decided to say screw it and went in anyways. He slowly opened the door to William's room, the metal door making ever to light creeking sounds that made it sound like the loudest thing ever in the quiet room.
Finally Meta Knight fully entered the room and closed the door behind him. Resting there on the bed lightened up by the moonlight was William who was sound asleep at this moment.
Meta Knight walked over to William's bed and tucked him in under the covers making sure he was nice and warm. Meta Knight then just stood there and stared at William sleeping for a while.
Meta Knight then leaned over to William and laid down beside William on his bed. Due to him being completely exhausted at this point.
Meta Knight laid down looking at William who was fast asleep. Meta Knight kinda saw himself in that bed when he was younger.
Then after a while Meta Knight could not keep his eyes open any more and fell asleep right there on the spot.
