Devon watched the couple as they slept cuddled up next to each. He has just about decided to lay down and that they would be fine if he went to sleep
And as he laid down he found the sun peaking from the trees
It was morning
He sighed as he sat up this was going to be a long day.
He heard Harry groan and open his eyes seconds later Ginny followed
"Ow…I feel exhausted." Harry said as he tired to sit up
Devon was before them in a second "hold on don't sit up yet lay still." He said
He put his thumb and finger on Esther side of Harry's temple and took a deep breath before he did the same to Ginny he patted both of them on the sholder "you'll be ok." He said
Harry sat up and grabbed his head
"Ow wow why does my head hurt so much?" He groaned
"I don't know I feel the same." Ginny said
Harry looked over "really?" He asked
Ginny looked up "huh you say something?" She asked
"No…you did." He said
Ginny paused
"Umm…no I didn't."
"Oh lord can't you ever be normal Harry?" Devon asked
"First a soul bond then mental speak on the first day, what's fucking next your…you know what I'm not king to tempt fate…" Devon said.
Harry shrugged "sorry Devon I've wanted a normal life the entire time fate hasn't rewarded me yet." Harry teased.
Devon rolled his eyes.
"What we're you talking about a soul bond?" Ginny asked
Devon smiled
"Now that is a good question." He said as he sat down
"A soul bond is something very, very rare. Nigh outlawed because it's believed to not exist. It's also very rare to find among people so powerful. Usually there is one who is more powerful than the other spouse once the bond is formed. The fact your equally as powerful. And your as powerful as you are lays the claim you have an innate ability to change the world the both of you together." Devon said
"Wait…spouse?" Harry asked
Devon nodded "the soul bond, or known as the lovers bond, is an old piece of magick of near myth. Either of magick to deepen the bond of a married couple to be something more. Or an act of kindness by fate by ensuring a bond between two individuals. There are many different stories. None of them verifiable because they are so rare." Devon said
So…does that mean Ginny and I are married?" Harry asked
Ginny looked over with a glare "are you saying you don't want me Potter?" She hissed
"Save the lovers quarrel for later you too." And while in some cultures. Like American Indian. Who stress the power of fate harshly yes. Unfortunately magickal Britain has been trying very very hard to crack down on paganism because it's so "chaotic" he said
Harry tilted his head "why?"
"Because the ministry is full of bigots."
"Are you calling my father a racist?" Ginny hissed
Devon felt the wind around them pick up as he raised his hands to placate her.
"There are always exceptions ms potter." Devon slipped out. Before gasping he didn't know how Ginny would be effected by the name.
Fortunately she seemed to be calmed down by it. As she smiled and held Harry's hand.
"So why do you say that they are bigoted?" Harry asked
Devon sighed
"Unlike magic that is taught at Hogwarts and other schools. Where you need to have a certain… oh it's hard to say this without confusing you… a certain ability let's say." Devon described
The two nodded
"Pagan magick on the other hand can be preformed by anyone. Regardless of weither they are born a muggle or witch. It blurs a line between the two. To the point there is no border. It's just human." Devon said
"But the statute of secrecy?" Ginny asked
Devon nodded "yes that's why I suspect The ministry is trying to hard to crack down on it. However. It's on the rise. Muggles are finding these powers and are untrained in them." Devon said
"That's a disaster." Ginny said
"Only for the ministry. Honestly I feel the more we can inform and give out magick to others the better the world could be especially if you can walk down the street and sell a remedy that can save a life." Devon said
Harry and Ginny nodded they could see his reasoning.
"So we got off topic does the soul bond mean that we are married?" Harry asked
"Leagally no not unless you want it to." Devon said
Ginny and Harry shaired a look.
" I think we will be just boyfriend and girlfriend for now." Harry and Ginny said
Devon nodded "as is your progrotive. Now it's getting late, we should head inside for breakfast." He said
The three headed inside the kitchen and found the entire family at the table.
"And what sort of time do you call this?" Molly asked
"Umm late?" Ginny asked
"Why gin gin why it seems as if you've been naughty around here." Fred said
"Yeah save some for us." George said.
"Honestly you two behave for once in your life." Percy said as he turned on Harry and Ginny.
"Where were you?" He asked
Molly looked at Percy
"Now Percy this is family time we will discuss this later." Molly said
Percy nodded as the others sat down.
Suddenly the family owl flew in carrying a stack of letters as Percy took the letter stack and begun handing them out. Including one for Devon and Harry.
" it's amazing that The letters know where you are." Harry said
Devon nodded "probably because Dumbledore saw you here." He said
Harry nodded
"Devon you got something else." Percy said
Devon looked up to see a parcel that was flexible
Devon took it and put it under his chair "I'll open it after." He said
Ginny tore the letter open and cheered "I got in! I got in!"
Harry smiled "I knew you could do it." He said
"Yeah."
"Ginny"
"We could to…"
"With all your jumping around."
Fred and George said together.
"Now don't tease her." Arthur said
Ginny stuck her tongue out at her brothers. As they enjoyed their breakfast.
After that they read the Hogwarts letters
Devon looked and realized his letter was twice as thick as everyone else's he pulled open his letters
And slammed his head on the table
"Ugh!" He moaned
"What?" Harry asked
"Nothing it's just…who in their right mind would ever ask these books?" Devon asked
Harry looked down "actually yeah aside from a few there all by the same person who is Gilderoy Lockhart?" Harry asked
Devon waved him off. "It's…ugh it's complicated."
"This another one of your pagan biases?" Percy asked glaring at Devon
The entire table froze
Devon was ineffective "no it's just common sense." He said
Harry stood up
"I'm going to go to the bathroom for a bit excuse me." He said as he left the table.
Ginny followed "I'm going to go change. Thanks for the breakfast mum." Ginny said as she ran upstairs
"Wait Ginny don't you want to stay for the family meeting?" Ron asked
Devon shook his head "Harry and Ginny already know Ron. It's fine." He said
Ron looked at Devon and nodded
"What do they know?" Fred asked
The family had a tense conversation about the relationship of Harry and Ginny
"Father you can't actually believe this do you?" Percy asked
"From what I've seen it can't be ruled out."
"But soul bonds are outlawed!" Percy called out
"You can't outlaw magick Percy, you just can't." Devon said
"But the unforgivables." Percy said in a counter
"That's to have People stop using it. This is different." Devon said
"Your making it seem like the bond is alive?" George said
"It's more alive than anyone else in this room. As it's being fueled by two people who love each other very very much." Devon said
"But I mean love? Really there, only 12 and 11 respectively!" Percy argued
"Like age matters." Devon said
"It's a guideline." Percy said
Devon looked at him
"No it's a restriction!"
"Enough!" Molly snapped
"Percy, while it is clear you're coming from a place of good intentions, this is an unprecedented situation so we need to consider everything." Molly said
Percy sighed and sat down.
"The plan is for us to see Bill next summer." Arthur said
But dad? Can we afford that?" Percy asked
"Dumbledore is shouldering the cost." Devon said
Percy nodded
"It would be nice to see him again." He said
"Well there is more as Harry is joining us. You know how Bill is special. We're asking him to verify the claim of the soul-bond." Arthur said
"Why not just go and see an aura reader?" George asked
"Basically money," Devon said
Ron shook his head
"The other thing is that it's not immediately crucial that we figure out the extent of the soul bond. Plus family time is always welcome." Devon said
"But that's not everything is it?" Percy asked Devon
"Percy!" Molly gasped
Devon raised his hand to quiet her
"I'll be honest with you. The only reason I'm here is for Harry's safety. And I will do anything. To ensure that, but his happiness is also important, otherwise I'd just lock him in a box and send him to a place Voldemort wouldn't dare touch him." Devon said
"Y-you know who is dead!" Percy stuttered
Devon looked at Percy. "You clearly don't know what happened last year do you?" Devon said
"Only rumors that I had to shut down that the castle was infiltrated." Percy said
"That's exactly what happened." Devon said
"But, how!" Percy gasped
"If people want to, they can find a way." Devon said
Back on the topic, what's the plan?" Ron asked
Devon sighed "keep an eye on Harry and Ginny. And the bond. I know its bound to grow stronger but it can also break I fear." Devon said
"What happens if it does?" Percy asked
Devon looked at him
"If it does as I fear it might it has the ability to cause enough devastation that makes the last War and the war with Grindelwald look like a joke. It will be another Hundred Years' War. With either of the bond mates at the next dark lord." Devon said
The room stilled
"As of now Harry as well as Ginny need to be protected. Keep a close eye on them." Devon said
"That's hard…Ginny likes her freedom." Arthur said
"Then let her keep it but still maintain at least something. Even if it's that you decide to go with her or both of them and watch from a distance." Devon said
He looked around the table "remember the bond can break a number of different ways so both there security as well as happiness is top priority." He said
Percy looked uncomfortable
Devon noticed this and turned to him "however I'm not saying we enable any bad actions just because she enjoys doing it. Ground rules are to be enforced. This isn't a prison it's a relationship." Devon said
Suddenly there was a thump on the stairs as Devon paused
"She heard every word of that didn't see?" Percy asked
Devon smiled "yep."
"We should talk to her." Ron said
Devon glared at him
"You will do no such thing! If you talk to her now when her mind is reeling you will isolate her more. We can't alienate her, we need to stabilize her and Harry." Devon said
"Are you saying they are together now?" Percy asked
"Yes Percy. Because like it or not you've isolated her in this household. Either intentionally or not. She feels she can't trust anyone here. So she's going to the only one who she can." Devon said
"Harry." Ron said
Devon nodded
Fred and George looked at each other seriously.
Arthur stood up "well that's the family meeting for now. Tomorrow or something we can go to Diagon Alley for school supplies." He said
Ron looked over to Devon "oh yeah show us the package you got." He said
Devon nodded "oh right I forgot," he said as he grabbed the package, from underneath the chair, and opened it
"Ohh it looks like a cloak." Percy said
"Not just any cloak it's a certain style of cloak, oh my gods this is amazing," Devon said
It's a Ruana cloak (Irish wrap)." He said
"Wow, why is it pure white though?" Percy asked
Devon noticed a letter in the pacakage, and read it
"Oh wow…apparently that despite the fact of my mess up at the end of last year, I'm still on track to be a Druid, they say that they are considering me for being accepted to the role by the end of next year so long as There is no incidents that occur with Harry." Devon said
"Wow that…impressive." George said
"Yeah very impressive,"
The twins looked at each other, they knew the writing on the wall
'Don't fuck with the Druid.'
Upstairs Ginny weeped in Harry's arms, but not because of anger or sadness but mire of joy, that the care,
Harry stroked her head and rocked her back and forth,
The next day, the family made there way to diagon alley by floo,
"Harry, have you ever used the floo before?" Arthur asked
Harry shook his head
Devon nodded "Harry Ginny why don't you go together, Ginny has done it before so she can help you if you mess up." Devon said
Arthur nodded
"Good idea Ginny you grab a handful of powder and keep it on you for emergency. Harry you go in dear." Molly said
Harry and Ginny stepped in
"Remember to say the name of the place before you throw the powder down." Ginny said
Harry nodded
Unfortunately he forgot "diagonally!" Harry coughed at the end as the two vanished with a scream from Ginny "BEFORE HARRY BEFORE!"
"What did he say?" Molly asked Arthur
"Diagonally." He said
Devon sighed "every time, give me a second and I'll locate them." He said as he grabbed his staff.
"There in Knockturn alley. I'll meet you outside of gringotts." Devon said as he stepped up,
"Leaky cauldron!" He said as he vanished
The Weasley looked at the fireplace "that's effective."
Harry and Ginny came flying out of the floo in a dark room
The two stood up
"Where are we?" She asked
Harry looked around
"I don't know but I don't think we should be in here." Harry whispered
"Obviously." Ginny said
Harry took off his glasses "ugh lenses are broken again?" He said
Ginny nodded and took off his glasses and waved her hand over them and instantly the glasses repaired themselves like they were never broken.
"Devon is right you are a Natural." Harry said
Ginny blushed "Aww I'll have to thank you properly later." She said as she grabbed Harry's hand "come on let's get out of the dark creepy dungeon for now we can come back later." Ginny said
"I'll think I'll pass." Harry said
Ginny giggled "pity." She said
Harry rolled his eyes "gross."
Ginny smiled and pulled Harry towards the exit.
And they exited the exact time Devon was coming over to them
And hagrid was following
"Harry?" Hagrid asked
Harry looked up meekly and hagrid came forward
"What are you doing there this not a good place for you to be." He said
"This is why I was going down here hagrid." Devon said
The half giant nodded "very well. I need to go ." He said as he slapped Devon on the back and walked away.
Devon looked over to The couple
"How was that you too?" He asked
"My glasses broke again." Harry said
Devon nodded "there are easier ways to travel large distances." He said as he patted the two on the back and walked them out of the alley
They stood outside of Gringottes and found the rest of the Wesley's waiting
"Oh Harry dear there we are, we were so worried." Molly said
"Don't worry I'm going to give him a scolding when we get back." Ginny said looking at Harry. Who winched
Molly patted Ginny on the shoulder "oh you have a lot of work ahead of you. But I believe in you." Molly said
Arthur stepped forward "we should probably get the money for the books we need before they get busy." He said
The Weasley's headed to the bank and got there Galleons Sickles and knuts. And headed to the book store
However inffrontvof the wand shop Ginny felt a pull and she stopped
"Mum!" Ginny said
Molly however tried to push her on.
"Come on dear you've. Already got a wand." She said
Devon stopped then "wait if she had a wand why is she not using it?" Devon asked
"It's locked up until the train. I have Charlie's Old wand. And Ginny is getting one of her aunts." Ron explained
Devon froze.
And looked at the others do each of you have reused wands?" He asked
George and Fred shook there heads "we bought new ones for ourselves." They said
Percy also shook her head "my wand is my own."
Devon looked at Ron and Ginny.
"You need your own." He said
"Devon we don't have the money." Molly said
"Then you can have some of mine." Harry stepped forward. "They deserve the best for being my best friends." Harry said
Ginny smiled and after a bit of arguing caved
"Oh alright." She said
Ginny and Ron smiled
Harry and Ginny walked in as Ron slung an arm over his shoulder "I'm paying you back somehow later." He said
Harry rolled his eyes "I'm not doing this for you to be indebted to me." He said as the door opened and Ollivander walked out.
"Welcome to Ollivander's…oh Mr potter, 11" holly Phoenix tail core." He said
Harry nodded
"I'm here to get my friends fitted for wands." He said
"I was told that Mr Weasley was a second year and he had a wand himself?" Ollivander asked
"It's my older brother's." Ron said
Ollivander winced "crazy, magick done by someone else's wand is unstable at best. Your lucky you can do magick at all. Or that might that tell your power…Weasley."
""Hmmm?"" Ron and Ginny looked up
"Your brother." Ollivander said as he looked
"I'll get to you ma'am in a second."
Ron gulped "my name is Ron." He said
Ollivander leaned forward
"Your wand." He said
Ron drew his brothers wand and went to give it to him
Only for it to be slapped back into his hand
"No no don't give it to me use it! I need to see you use it!" He said
Ron looked over scaired Harry nodded
"W-what should I do?" He asked
Ollivander thought before pointing
"That stack of boxes…bring them here to me." He said
Ron nodded and said "Wingardium Leviosa!" He said
Flawlessly and effortlessly the stack floated up and moved towards Ollivander and placed it down beside him.
Once Ron was done he found the Wand snatched out of his hand.
"Hmmm. Here. Willow 14" unicorn hair I have a feeling…" he said
Ron grabbed the wand and felt a power surge into him and suddenly a light gleamed from the tip.
Ollivander smiled "good now to you Ms. Potter."
Ginny froze.
"Um it's Weasley…" Ginny said
Ollivander nodded "I will be more professional." Ollivander said as he looked at her. And smiled
"You are different…you I don't need to ask many questions I can just see it." Ollivander said as he walked around
"Feel the magick in this room girl feel the different powers these wands radiate, find the one that matches your own…and point it out to me." He said
Ginny looked to Devon and smiled she closed her eyes and after a while pointed off to the left,
"Can you feel me Ms Weasely?" He asked
Ginny nodded "yes." She said
"I'm going to touch the wands where you pointed tell me when I touch yours." He said
After 5 boxes Ginny said "Stop!"
Ollivander pulled out the box "ah yes Yew, 10" and dragon heartstring." He said
Ginny grasped the wand, and suddenly the her entire body relaxed once she grabbed the handle.
Ollivander was startled "clearly, you two have amazing futures ahead of you." He said
The group left the store and headed to the books store,
On the way they met with Hermonie,
"Harry! Devon!" She said as she ran forward
Harry winced as Hermonie slammed into him. "Oh it's so good to see you." She said
"Yea yea yea Hermonie…air please." Harry said as Hermione let go, and Harry gasped.
Hermonie looked at Devon "how are you handling him?" He she asked
"Worse…there are two of them now." Devon said
Hermonie paused as she looked over "who are you?" She asked
"Ginny Weasely." Ginny said
Harry leaned forward "my girlfriend." He said
Hermonie was shocked but looked to Devon who said he'd explain later.
Hermonie led the others to Flourish and Blotts. As Devon walked in, with Harry hiding behind ,
"Introducing. Gilderoy Lockhart," the announcer said Devon rolled his eyes and elbowed Harry as every else clapped but Ron who whispered "mum fancies him."
Moly wacked Ron,
" Let's get our books and get out of here." Devon said to Harry who nodded
Harry and Ginny tried to walk away and get to a shelf to get there books
Unfortunately Gilderoy lockheart noticed the crowd shuffling and saw Harry leaving
"Can't be…Harry Potter?" He gasped
" Harry could barely turn around before the reporter was pulling him away from the bookshelf towards the table, Devon and Ginny marching up after him
"Nice big smile Harry together you and I will make the front page." He said giving his best grin as Harry looked very uncomfortable he looked to Devon with big pleading eyes saying 'help me!'
"Excuse me! You know it's rude to take photos of people without there permission." Devon said
The photographer was about to flash a photo but Devon knocked into him purposely making him photo the ceiling as he spun around allowing Harry to pull himself away from Lockhart.
"We'll i've never heard of such rude reception just who the hell would you be."
Devon looked to Harry with a face that said 'forgive me'
"Devon Oakland Mr Potters, Personal retainer. minister of affairs, and Harrassment advisor, something that in the in the first 5 minutes of meeting my client you broke all three, if mr Potter had any wish at all what so ever to see you rot, there would be nothing you could do, before you were stripped of everything but the cloak off your back! Don't touch Mr. Potter without his express permission again! Don't photograph him without his permission. And don't REPEAT DONT HARASS HIM!
"Devon!" Harry said sharply
Devon turned to Harry to see him ridged looking cold and calculating this wasn't the meek Harry Potter from before hiding from the crowd, this was the Harry Potter Devon had trained to be a threat to Voldemort,
Harry gave him a gentle smile. "No need to harass the press now. Even if they are a bunch of arseholes that need to learn there place, doesn't mean we need to threaten to crash the global economy now do we?" Harry asked as he brushed Devons Cloak off of dust.
Devon looked down and followed along,
"I umm…no sir." He said
Harry smiled
"We'll no harm done, and please no photos of me at this time." Harry said as everyone babbled
Behind him Gilderoy's smile fell, he wanted to use the Potter boys fame to boost his own, but that runt used it as a way for him to become more popular, well two can plan at that game, but first to get rid of that retainer.
"Oh um Mr Potter." Gilderoy said as he waved him back
Harry turned around "…yes?" He asked sounding simi bored and posh at the same time completely accidentally
Gilderoy inside was fuming how dare he not bow before him as the best wizard this side of Dumbledore.
"Speaking from celebrity to celebrity, I'd like to offer you a Token of piece due to the major incident that had occurred today, please take these my entire set of works free of charge, and speak about this in passing as firends in the future, maybe we can discuss about us being famous and how hard it is to be like us, sometime, maybe some pumpkin juice?" Gilderoy said
Devon stepped forward "unfortunately Mr Potter has a very busy schedule, so I don't believe that we will have time for that before this Hogwarts year begins." Devon said
"Oh yes Hogwarts!" Gilderoy said hopping up
"Let it be known to one and all I will be given the honor of teaching Mr Potter as Defense against the Dark arts professor this year." He said
Harry suppressed a shiver, as Devon shouldered him and walked them to the front
"Sorry about that, now you understand why I hate him." Devon said
"Yea I feel the same." Harry said
As they passed the crowd Draco walked down the step of the upper floor and stepped infront.
"I bet you loved that Potter just walk into a book store and make the front page, then you had to make it all about you." Draco said
"Leave him alone." Ginny said stepping forward.
"Got yourself a girlfriend Potter?" He asked teasing him about it thinking Harry would deny it
However Harry looked smugly
"Yea I do, is that a problem?" He asked
Draco was caught flat footed "umm." He stuttered
Ginny giggled "I think he's just jealous that you got a girlfriend before he did." Ginny said
"Oh draco if that's the case I can help you with that, HEY ANY SINGLE LADIES IN THE CROWD OUT THERE!?" Harry yelled
"Stop to Potter!" Draco said as he was about to lunge at him
However a silver snake landed on his shoulder making him freeze, "now now Draco, no need to lose your temper in public now." He said
Draco paused and nodded "yes father," he said
Lucius Malfoy stepped forward.
"Harry Potter Lucius Malfoy, we meet again at last…excuse me." He said
As Harry was about to be pulled forward Harry felt a counterforce pull him back
"I'm pretty sure you just heard from me before that as Mr Potters retainer, I cannot allow you to touch him without his permission." Devon said as he appeared behind a Harry. Staff in hand
Lucius snarled but curved it into a thin smile,
"Ah hello Mr. Oakland we meet again, happy to see you." Lucius said
Devon rolled his eyes "wish I could say the same however that will only happen when you're either found dead in the street, or in Azkaban." He said
Lucius froze his face morphed in barely held fury, "y-you dare." He hissed
"For touching my client without permission, yes!" Devon barked
Lucius growled "You're not a retainer to Potter don't even try."
Devon didn't back down, "and yet you can't prove it without providing me the better," Devon said
Lucius paused he was losing all his thunder tried to get his plan back in order as he looked around
"We'll Draco aren't these a lively bunch." He said
"More than your corrupt government ass's left on the street by night." Devon said
Lucius looked up and noticed Arthur coming towards them
He picked up a book from Ginny's caldron
"A second hand book, army of red hair, you must be the Weasley's." He said
"So what if we are?" Ron asked
Arthur came around and looked at them "well children it's hot out here let's go outside." He said
Lucius turned to Arthur
"Well, well, well, Weasley senior,"
"Lucius." Arthur said
"You must be very best at the minestry with all the extra raids going on, I hope they pay you overtime, although judging by your books I'd say not, how does it feel being a disgrace in the name of wizard, if they don't even pay you well for it," he said
"We have a very different idea about what desgrace's the name of wizard Malfoy." Arthur said
"Clearly…associating with Muggles." He said as he placed Ginny's book back in her cauldron with one extra one there too.
"Muggles will surprise you Malfoy, the more you underestimate them, and they will be your undoing." Devon said
Lucius looked at Devon unimpressed "clearly."
Lucius turned to Arthur "I'll see you at work." As he left,
Draco faced Harry and Ron "I'll see you at school." As he walked away,
Devon walked them out as they returned to the burrow.
And a few days later they were off to the platform, heading off, to school, the much of the Weasley family made it to the platform on time, with Devon lagging behind, to make sure the coast was clear,
Devon was just making there way back with enough time to walk though the barrier and into the train as it was riding off,
Only to see Harry and Ron smash headfirst into it,
Devon sighed as he had to pull them out the fire again
Harry and Ron were punching the brick wall, "what the hell happened?" Harry asked
"And that is why you don't play bumper cars in the train station boys, now come on we're going to be late." He said as he looked up and saw the time

The train was gone,
Harry and Ron looked at each other,
"Well I guess we can go back to the car." Harry said
"The car! Harry brilliant!" Ron said as he ran off
Harry watched him go
"What did I say?" He asked
"Something that is going to be very bad. Let's go." Devon said
They reached the car and found Ron in the seat,
"No ron no out!" Devon said
"But I…" Ron said
"Out!" Devon said finally,
Ron got out as Devon got behind the wheel.
"Get your stuff in quick we got a train to catch," Devon said
Harry and Ron looked at each other fearfully 'what the fuck were they about to do?'
They got in the car and fastened there seatbelts,
"Hang on?" He said
Devon pulled out the parking lot and slammed his foot on the gas, as the sped off.
Harry was in the Passenger seat,
"Harry check the glove compartment for a road map." Devon said
Harry opened the compartment and looked around several muggle papers and wizarding nick-nacks but no map,
Harry looked up.
"Oh for fuck sake." He said as he flipped out his left hand straight up
"Scotland!" He barked
From the palm of his hand rose a compass which he followed to get out to the English countryside as as fast as possible.
Once they hit the country Devon got off the road.
"Ron, how do you engage the Invisibility?" Devon asked
Ron pointed over his shoulder,
"That button there." He said
Devon pressed it but it fizzled out
"Bloody hell!" Devon hissed
"COW!" Harry yelled
"Shit!" Devon yelled as he pulled the car back and the car lept into the sky over the car,
Devon however pushed it forward and make the car hit the ground 'with luck muggles will just believe it to be a stunt car' Devon thought,
They drove on the fields for a while until they finally got far enough away and could see the track that they felt comfortable flying,
"I'm going to get you alongside the train I want you to hop on and stay on." Devon said
"What about you?" Harry asked
"And our stuff?" Ron asked
"I'll…fuck you don't have your robes either, Argh, just…when you get on I'll make another pass and give you your robes then I'll meet you at hogwarts," Devon said
Harry and Ron nodded,
Devon revved up the car and matched the Hogwarts trains speed,
"See if you can't find the car Hermione is in." Devon said
Harry pointed
"There third car!" He said
"I see it hang on." Devon said as he pushed the car faster to get to the spot,
"Ron, you get out first." Devon said
"Why do I have to go first?" Ron whimpered
"Because if you don't we're going to crash into a mountain." Devon. Said as he looked up ahead to see a tunnel
Harry noticed it too and turned and shouted "RON GO NOW!"
Ron, also seeing the incoming mountain quickly, didn't. Hesitate any longer and jumped. Onto the train grabbing onto the open window
In the compartment was luckily Ginny reading
She jumped as she heard a thump on the window and saw Ron
"Hey sis do you mind opening the door?" Ron asked
Ginny rolled her eyes and exited the compartment
A few seconds later Ron saw the door open, as he was just able to jump in. And into the train just as it passed into the tunnel.
Ron laid on the ground exhausted from adrenaline.
Ginny standing over him,
"So why did you make the train this way?" Ginny asked
Ron rolled his eyes and plopped his head back down,
Devon and Harry were above the mountain
"Ron is in." He said
"Alright were going to get you in then I'll toss you the robes." Devon said
"Thanks Devon I don't know what we'd do without you." Harry said
"Probably the same thing just much stupider." Devon said as he got along side the train again,
Harry found the open door with. Ginny and Ron standing there,
Ginny had a little black book under her arm,
Harry jumped from the car onto the train in a single bound and landed in a roll to pop up back on his feet and engulf Ginny into a hug, and kiss
Harry pulled back
"Railroad bandit." He said he turned around and found two robes being thrown at him.
"I'll meet you at the platform." Devon said as he flew off,
Harry, Ron and Ginny watched him fly off,
Suddenly from the compartment door Hermione popped out
"Was that Devon!?" She asked
Finally They reach the platform Harry and Ron were the first to get off and locate the half giant Hagrid outside waiting for them.
"Harry!" Hagrid said as he strode over and whispered "Devon was brought to the headmasters office he won't be at the feast but he wants you to go and enjoy it and meet you at his office later."
Harry nodded and looked to Ron who also nodded "what about our stuff?" He asked
"In your rooms all packed away." Hagrid said as he began to lead the first years away.
Harry and Ron looked at each other.
Hermione sighed "what are you planning on doing now?" She asked
"Devon is in there because of us we have an obligation to see it through with him." Harry said
Hermione looked at him like he was mad "what-no you don't Devon got in trouble doing something stupid he nearly got you killed!" She said
Ron shrugged
"Hermione, the barrier wouldn't open." Ron said
Hermione looked at Ron like he was insane
"What?" She asked
"Yeah the only reason we're here is because of Devon." Harry said
Hermonie scoffed "fine! Go after him, I'm off to bed." She said
Harry and Ron headed off, to the headmaster's office
On the way down they actually ran into Professor McGonagall,
"And what are you two doing out at this hour?" She asked
"Professor Dumbledore wanted to see us after the feast." Ron said
"Mr Weasley I know for a fact that Professor Dumbledore wanted to see Harry himself not you." She said
"But Devon got in trouble because of us, we need to stick together." Harry said
McGonagall faltered, unknown to the 12 year old. His own father had given a speech when he was leaving hogwarts and he addressed the entire classes with that statement. It just made her heart melt,
McGonagall sighed "alright follow me." She said as she walked them to the Headmaster's office,
In the office Harry and Ron were watching as Snape and Albus were talking quiet loudly at Devon.
"You were seen!" Snape snapped
"By some rural farmers late in the evening with no evidence that it was us, there was no need for obliviators to get involved." Devon said
"That doesn't mean anything , you've endangered something very important to the survival of the Wizarding world." Albus said
Devon's face snarled as he turned on Dumbledore. "He has a name! And if you don't start treating him like he's an actual living being certain measures will be taken drastically to ensure that he does," Devon said
At the same time as Harry and Ron stepped through Ron accidentally kicked the door making it slam, making the two older people look up.
"Mr Potter, Mr. Weasley, what are you doing here?" Severus Snape asked
Albus raised his hand "I asked Mr. Potter here Severus, although I'm not sure about Mr. Weasley." He said
Ron gulped "if your here to punish any of them you should punish all 3 of us." He said
Snape leaned back and crossed his arms "bold." He said
Albus however had a twinkle in his eye,
"And what makes you think you're about to be punished?" He asked
Harry stepped up "Headmaster the barrier at the platform wouldn't open we didn't have another way to get to school…hang on did you…" Harry paused
Albus smiled deeper.
Severus turned to the aging Headmaster. "Professor Dumbledore you're not…" he said
He looked at Severus. "It is as Oakland said. The oral accounts will not be enough to destroy the statute of secrecy, therefore I find no reason for a punishment to be given." He said as he glared at the three "however I'd like to add that they were very very lucky." He said
Severus scoffed seeing no reason to be there he stomped off
Harry Potter and Ron Weasley watched him go,
"Professor…if you didn't call us here to punish us…why did you call us here?" Harry asked
Dumbledore smiled "Come closer Harry." He said
Both Ron and Harry approached, as Albus raised his hand and transformed another pair of chairs in front of his desk,
"I was told before that you've been notified of your Soul-bond." He said
Harry nodded "yes sir." He said
Albus smiled "how do you feel about it Harry?"
Harry smiled, "like the happiest man in the world."
Ron elbowed him looking away trying to focus on something else in the office
Harry shook his head as of pulling out of a trance, "oh I'm sorry, that…sorry Ronald." He said to his best friend
"You okay mate?" He asked
Albus smiled "ah the power of nostalgia, a latent power of magic, and feelings allowing the use of energy again as if you've called upon it the first time in need, it is very potent and dangerous if not undone carefully." He said
Harry nodded at the Headmaster's warning.
"Now unfortunately we cannot have you in the same classes as Ms. Weasley as it would not be fair to you or her, however certain accommodations can be given." He said
Devon looked up
"Professor you're not saying?" Devon asked
Albus looked at him "no Mr. Oakland, not yet but it is a possibility, for now the use of You Mr Potter to be Ms. Weasley's escort around the castle to her classes. This will be an unspoken agreement with the teachers allowing you to be a few minutes late to classes however and only just a few. It is not ment to be used to explored intentionally sealed parts of the castle like you've done last year am I understood?" Albus said
Harry nodded
Albus countined "the other rules of appropriate Contact while in the Hallways still apply nonetheless." He said
Harry grimaced at the thought not that he was unnerved by kissing Ginny, strangely he felt more comfortable kissing Ginny than he did anyone else. But it's more of it being public maybe…Harry didn't know.
Ron looked over to The Headmaster seeing as his firend wasn't doing anything.
"So what about our training with Devon?" He asked
Albus looked over to the Druid who was looking at his robes and pockets,
"I must admit I don't trust Lockheart at this school, he's a fool even more so when I saw him in person." He said
Albus nodded "yes unfortunately he was the only one to accept the job so we will have to deal with his Eccentricness for a time." He said
"I do hope you have a good teacher lined up next year otherwise I might just take over just to make sure stuff is done." He said
Dumbdore smiled, "I know." He said as he stood up.
"It's getting late, and classes start tomorrow, off to bed," the Headmaster clapped
As Harry and Ron left Devon stayed as Dumbdore called him
"Devon." He said
"Yes?" He asked
"If you don't mind I'd like you to sign an contract to Hogwarts saying that if no teacher can be found, or I should be indisposed for a time, that you will take the matter up as Hogwarts resident Defense Against the Dark Arts Professor." Dumbledore said
Devon nodded "I can do that where cod I sign?" He asked
Albus dumbdore produced a sheet of parchment and a Blood quill, "legal use only, for official documentation just like the Goblins." Dumbledore said seeing Devon quirk his brow.
Devon nodded and took the pen and pressed the Nib into the sheet.
And a flash of Black crossed his face as. Burning figure draped in fiery robes and boney hands. Flew towards his vision as the figure under the robe to be none other than Lord Voldemort himself, with a cackling smile he laughed which echoed in Devons ears,
Devon winced and scattered both the quill and Parchment in two different sides of the room as he flew a third way standing on guard two hands on his staff ready to blast anything at a moments notice
Dumbledore ran to him "what happened?!" He asked
Devon was frozen as the cackling was still in his ears but he started to hear Albuses voice
"…evon…Devon!" Albus snapped
Devon snapped a look at Dumbledore
"H-Headmaster…are you aware the position of Defense Professor in Cursed?"
Dumbledore paled
"C-cursed…cursed by who?" He asked
Devon looked at the Professor and just said "him." He said
Dumbledore uneasily sat in a chair, and thought. His hands shivering,
Devon looked over "I refuse to sign that contract, to be legally binding, however you do have my word that if anyone is needed to teach the students defense I will step up." He said
Dumbdore nodded
"Thank you Devon…now I need to think about who I can hire, for the position. Who wouldn't worry about the curse…no first we need to find out how potent the curse is, thank you for revealing this to me Devon, I'm grateful of Lockheart filling the position this year that will make this investigation much easier," he said
Devon nodded and headed towards the door,
"Oh Mr Oakland!" Dumbledore said
Devon turned around
"Your staff is now qualified to be on your person the entire time." Dumbledore said
Devon nodded and left,
The next day Hermonie wouldn't talk to either Harry Ron or Devon, however Ginny was a solid part of the group dynamic now. As they were eating at breakfast,
"I hope I'm not going to embarrass myself in front of the teachers," Ginny said
Harry reassured her "you'll be fine Ginny." He said
Ginny smiled,
"Thanks Harry I'm going to go." As Ginny headed off to class
Devon watched her leave and after looking down the table he noticed Hermonie was sitting alone looking away,
Devon sighed
Ron and Harry noticed Devon looking at Hermonie and shrugged
"Don't worry mate, she'll be fine." He said
Suddenly the mail came in and inside was a howler delivered by Errol
"Aw man." Ron said holding up the Smoking Red envelope
Devon rolled his eyes 'I hate how some wizards go about public humiliation as a punishment.'
Ron sighed "better get it over with," he said as he looked at Devon
"Sorry." He said
Devon shrugged "I don't care just get it over with," he said
Ron opened the letter and suddenly a loud voice bounced off the walls of the great hall
"STEALING THE CAR, I WOULDN'T HAVE BEEN SURPRISED IF THEY'D EXPELLED YOU, YOU WAIT TILL I GET HOLD OF YOU, I DON'T SUPPOSE YOU STOPPED TO THINK WHAT YOUR FATHER AND I WENT THROUGH WHEN WE SAW IT WAS GONE —
— LETTER FROM DUMBLEDORE LAST NIGHT, I THOUGHT YOUR FATHER WOULD DIE OF SHAME, WE DIDN'T BRING YOU UP TO BEHAVE LIKE THIS, YOU AND HARRY COULD BOTH HAVE DIED —"
— ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTED — YOUR FATHER'S FACING AN INQUIRY AT WORK, IT'S ENTIRELY YOUR FAULT AND IF YOU PUT ANOTHER TOE OUT OF LINE WE'LL BRING YOU STRAIGHT BACK HOME."

The letter burned up on the table into ash as Harry and Ron looked at each other and glaired at Devon,
However they were even more shocked to see Devon livid, shaking in rage, he stood up and grabbed Ron by the shoulder "it wasn't your fault." He said as he stormed off,
Ron and Harry looked at each other confused. As Hermione slid down to talk to them.
"Absolutely horrendous way of punishing children." She said
There was a loud bang as Every looked to see Devon had Spartan kicked the doors of the great hall wide open and stormed off towards the owlery,
Harry looked over "I think Devon agrees with you."
Later on the trio go off to classes and fond Devon at the green houses, waiting, as Harry approached the greenhouses Gilderoy lockheart appeared out of nowhere
"Hey Harry! Do you mind if I talk to you for a quick minute over here just a tick not long not long at all." He said as he dragged Harry away ripping his hand out of Ginny's who was walking next to him, she tried to rush back to him but Ron stopped her,
"Come on Sis you need to get to class." He said
Ginny huffed "I'm going to strangle that man if he keeps doing this," she said
Ron nodded as he looked over to see Devon stomping towards Lockheart. "I think Devon is going to do it for you." He said
Hermonie rolled her eyes as she went off to class,
After a brief confrontation with Devon and Lockhart, Devon and Harry got to class late, which Professor sprout was upset about but more about Lockhart's interference than anything,
As they finished planting Mandrakes Devon was handling the soil with care, something that Professor Sprout noticed,
"My my Devon, do you do this often you seem to be a natural." She said
Devon smiled "thank you Professor, and once you know how you talk to the plants, they tell you exactly what they need." He said at the end of the class.
The Slytherin's giggled at what Devon said
However Ms sprout smiled "ah yes. 15 points to Gryffindor." She said as she dismissed the class.
Harry, Ron, Hermione and Devon made there way to the Transfiguration's and sat in the class as they transfigured there pets into goblets,
Hermonie was one of the first people to get it, but so was Devon, shockingly enough, so did Ron and Harry,
However the worst part of classes that week was Defense against the dark arts, where Lockhart gave a quiz about himself, and read passages from the his books,
Many of the girls swooned including Hermonie, however Harry and Devon looked at Hermione in disgust about it, as Gilderory Lockhart decided to end his lesson with a more "practical note,"
"Freshly caught Cornish pixie's!" He said
Harry suppressed a groan as the man without any warning opened the cage, and the pixies flew out of the cage and all hell broke loose,
And that's how they ended there Friday,
Harry went to bed feeling sick to the stomach but unsure why the reason. Thinking it was just something he ate he laid down hoping it would go away in the morning,
It didn't
The queasiness hit him harder Saturday, as he got up and headed to the great hall for food before practice.
Devon noticed Harry didn't eat anything as he ran off to get his broom,
Devon looked at Ron and Hermione
"Did Harry eat anything before he left?" He asked
Ron and Hermione looked at each other and shook their heads now concerned.
Ron looked across the room to see Ginny looking dead to the world half dazed over half asleep.
"Ginny? Ginny?" Devon asked
Suddenly Ginny snapped up and looked around "yes?" She asked
"Ginny Devon was asking if Harry was acting strange to you at all?" Hermione asked
Ginny shook her head "no not that I know." She said
Devon kept an eye on her, "Ginny…is there something you're not telling us?" He asked
Suddenly Ginny got defensive
"No I don't know what's going on with Harry, and I don't have time to, I need to study for classes." She said as she stood up and walked out,
Devon and Ron looked at each other severely worried all of a sudden.
"Ron do you think you could keep an eye on Ginny?" He asked
Ron nodded and stood up
However Hermione took offense to this.
"Oh honestly boys can you just leave it! She's just stressed there is nothing to worry about." She said
Ron turned on her "Hermione there is plenty to worry about." Ron said
Hermonie spun around "No Ronald there isn't, girls can have their secrets too." She said as she headed off,
Ron was about to chase after her but Devon put a hand on his shoulder "let it go for now, she doesn't know." Devon said
Ron sighed and rolled his eyes "we forgot to tell her," he said
Devon shrugged "I'm sure she wouldn't believe us, she barely was talking to us back then." He said
Ron looked to Devon.
"I'll look after Ginny." He said
Devon shook his head "no we'll stay with Harry, if Hermione catches us we'll be in even more trouble." Devon said
As Ron and Devon made there way out to the pitch, Ron spoke to Devon softly
"Do you think it's the bond? I mean I'm not sure but Ginny got quite defensive the second you mentioned if something was wrong." Ron said
Devon shook his head "I sure hope not, we'll have to ask Harry after practice. Get his side of the story." He said
As they sat in the stands And watched Harry fly around, Ron looked concerned as Devon looked like a Hawk,
Both boys had the same thing on there mind. 'Harry is too sluggish.'
Indeed, harry was swaying on his broom like a Drunken man in the nights, as his vision would blur and sharpen at their own rate, he could barely focus, he nearly bumped into George who was going to take a swing at an oncoming bludger before Harry passed by him forcing George to duck to avoid the bludger and not hitting Harry with the stick,
About halfway through the practice Harry completely collapsed. And nearly fell off his broom fortunately Oliver saw Harry take a dive and screamed.
Katie bell and Angelina Johnson were fast enough to grab the broom and pull Harry up from the dive and same him and broom, as they landed on the ground safely
Devon was the first one down. Ron shortly following him,
"What happened?" Katie asked
"He just collapsed on the broom mid flight." Devon said
"He very pale." Ron noticed.
"Grab him we need to get him to the Hospital wing." Devon said
Oliver looked over to the left and scowled "oh no…" he said as he hopped down
Katie looked over "what is it?" She asked
"Slytherin's." Oliver said as he started to walk towards the Slytherin Quidditch team.
Devon and Ron carry Harry out past the teams, which Draco mocks Harry as "being too afraid of heights.
Devon was about to crack back at Draco but Hermione rushed forward
"What happened?!" She asked
Draco scoffed at them "what happened she asked? Pathetic, Gryffindor's golden boy can't handle a simple sport." He said
Hermonie stood up "careful Malfoy, your not going to like us, when we're territorial." Hermione said
"Shut up mud blood!" Draco said
Suddenly there was an uproar as the entire thing turned into a slugfest.
Devon slammed his staff into the ground,
"Draco Malfoy!" Devon snapped
"If I near such foul language coming out of your again you will wish you were expelled from this school than face my wrath," Devon roared,
Everyone froze as they noticed a dark shadow around Devon slowly fade, he turned to Ron and Hermione.
"Let's go." He said as they headed off,
At the hospital wing Harry was pronounced fine, but he still wasn't awake, something that completely concerned Devon
As the midiwitch came over and tried to reassure him.
"Mr Potter will be fine Mr. Oakland." She said
Devon scoffed and he turned back to watch him "I'll believe that when he wakes up." He said
Ron and her Hermione also watched Harry, as the medi-witch walked away
"Ron we need to keep a very close eye on Ginny, I don't know what it is cut something isn't right." He said
Ron nodded but Hermione slammed her book which she was reading while trying not to stress about Harry,
"Enough! I don't know what has gotten into you but Ginny isn't some evil incarnate trying to take over Harry." She said
Ron stood up
"Hermione no one said that," he said
"Well you keep acting like it?" She said
Ron shook his head "Hermione you don't understand how important Ginny and Harry are for each other." He said
"Oh please then tell me." Hermione said.
"Harry and Ginny have a soul bond, Hermione." Devon said.
Hermione froze.
"A what?" She asked
"An extremely powerful connection legend says it actually links two people together." Devon said
Ron looked at Devon
"Don't you mean witches?" He asked
However Devon shook his head "no People this is a legend from before the statute of secrecy when pagan tribes were rampant. And magick was akin to godhood." Devon said
Hermione and Ron looked at each other.
"So Harry and Ginny have this connection?" She asked
Devon nodded "yes but we don't know how deep it is or anything. It's just that we need to be careful." He said as he started to hear thumping down the hall
The three turned towards the door as it opened to reveal Ginny rushing in "Harry!" She gasped as she reached him
"Harry are you ok?!" She asked as she grabbed his temples
The medi witch tried to stop her but Devon raised his hand
After a while Harry groaned and he opened his eyes
"Ugh…w-what happened?" He asked
"You passed out on your broom Katie bell and Angelina Johnson grabbed and saved you." Ron explained
Ginny reached and hugged Harry
"Oh Harry, I was so worried for you!" She said.
Harry hugged her "I know I felt…missing without you." He said
Ginny pulled away. And smiled "well I'm here now dummy." She said
Ron and Devon looked at each other and looked at hermione who was taking it all in."
Eventually Harry was allowed to go free from the hospital, and the rest of the weekend went by without much incident, even as Hermione joined the now group of five for there late night sparing.
Hermione went to the classroom Devon told her about before she went to bed and found Ginny, Harry and Ron sitting on the ground.
"G-Ginny?" Hermione asked
"Hello Hermonie." Ginny said
She was about to talk again but Devon walked in "due to Ginny and Harry's relationship they have joined us, and it's quiet a good thing to. Ginny is quiet Powerful."
Hermonie nodded and sat down,
"So what are we working on tonight?" She asked
"Curses." Devon said
"Curses?" Ginny asked going ridged.
"Curses, hexes, Dark magic, and specifically how to counter them." He said as he looked at Harry and Ginny,
"You two are very vulnerable right now, no real Dark magic counters will come up in lessons until possibly next year at the earliest." He said
Ginny and Harry looked attentively,
"Now there are a multitude of different ways you can protect yourself against, evil Magick's either by evil creatures, or by dark witches it's the same." Devon said
"Evil creatures?" Hermione asked
Creatures with a benevolent nature against us this year your learning about creatures that attack you if you happen to come onto them wrong, next year you will be learning about creatures who are directly violent to humans and you might need to strike first and neutralize the threat," he said
"So…what do we do in the meantime?" Ginny asked
Devon smiled, "these are techniques used to help protect yourself from foreign magick, you can stack these for more powerful effects, and there are others that are more difficult to do than others." Devon said
Ginny nodded as did the others,
"We're ready." They said
Devon. Smiled "first we begin meditating." He said
He walked them through several different types of magic. Including protection charm crafting, as well as other larger ritual like bathes and washes,
In the end Harry and Ginny walked away wearing a bag of protective charms around there neck. Each one used to protect a different threat, the bag was enough to ward off minor nuances, but anything aimed at them with intention would shatter the shield, which is what the amulets inside were for while the shield would break it would give a warning to Harry or Ginny with enough time to protect themselves against the danger.
Each one was powered by a crystal wrapped around a wire that hung from the neck or any skin contact, and the radiant magick Harry or Ginny let out natural was what was used to power the Stones.
On the way back to the dorm Harry heard a hissing around them he stopped and spun around
"Kill, rip, tear,"
Harry froze
Ginny felt a shiver run up her spine
Devon noticed they stopped and turned around
"What's wrong?" He asked
"Did you hear that?" He asked
"Hear what mate?" Ron asked
"There…there was a voice…" Harry said
Ginny looked at Harry concerned "h-Harry?" She asked
"I heard it love." Harry said
Ginny nodded she believed him
"What did it say?" Devon asked
Harry paused "um, something like…rip, tear, kill,"
Ron and Hermione looked at each other
Devon nodded "let's get to the common room." He said
At the common room everyone talks about the idea of the voice, and while Harry understand he's safe, he is no less concerned.
The next day it was getting close to Sanhime and Harry was getting that Queasy feeling again, he tried all sorts of the Amulets but nothing worked, but using one with Amethyst and Onyx together at once seemed to work the best,
However today it was Halloween and it wasn't working at all, as he was heading back from Nearly headless nick's deathday party, he was queasy, he was unfocused, and was wondering around like a drunk, he could barely keep his eyes open but he found a black shape floating above him and something written in red, but he couldn't tell what,
And suddenly Darkness took him,
When he woke up everything was in an uproar, teachers were screaming, as Devon was shaking Harry awake,
"Harry Harry!" He said
Harry jolted up "what happened?" He asked as he looked around
He saw ms Norris hanging from the Castle Wall scone, and on the wall written in blood was the words
"THE CHAMBER OF SECRETS HAS BEEN OPENED. ENEMIES OF THE HEIR, BEWARE"
Harry gulped and looked at Devon
"I didn't do it." He said
Devon nodded and squeezed his shoulder. And stood up
As Harry watched as Ron and Hermione approached, him and he,led him up
Draco walking past couldn't help but make his comment known
"Enemies of the Heir, beware! You'll be next, Mudbloods!" He said out of hearing from the professors who were coming down the hall
Harry saw filch first as he turned the corner. As Flinch ran over and started screaming at Harry about killing Ms Norris.
Albus stopped him mid rant "she's not dead, Argus," he said
Argus placated for a time stomped off,
Everyone returned to the common room and the group begun investigating the Chamber of secrets.
"I think it might be Draco Malfoy." Ron said
" you always think it's Draco." Devon said
"No but he might be right after all, he did say you'll be next mudbloods." Hermione said
Devon rolled his eyes "that doesn't prove anything." Devon said
"But we can't rule it out either." She said
Harry grabbed his head growing more irritated as his migrate was getting worse.
"You okay Harry?" Devon asked
"Yeah…it's just…I hate passing out like this," he said
Devon nodded "I'll see if I can't craft something for you, do you want to do the ritual tonight?" Devon asked
Harry shook his head "I think I'll be fine yeah let's go." Harry said as he stood up. And headed towards the stairs as the others followed,
They began the ritual and prepared the offering cakes. And headed downstairs.
They found Percy Weasley waiting, "so…there are more of you…" he said
Harry smiled "hello Percy are you going to take us to Professor Mcgonnigall?" Harry asked
He reluctantly nodded as he stood up the door opened and lo and behold the Professor walked in
"Oh Devon your here. As are you Mr. Potter,, Mr and Ms. Weasley, and Ms Granger. Are they?" She asked
Devon nodded "they are all joining me tonight." He said
McGonigall nodded "very well follow me." She said as she headed off.
The ritual was conducted in the courtyard and several cakes laid on a circle were buried.
The classes went fine that week but Devon heard Hermione talking to Ron and Harry about the possibility that the heir of Slytherin could be Malfoy.
Devon tried to take them off this course but they were dead set on it Devon noped right out.
"Fine you do that if you want to I'm going to make sure other things are covered." Devon said as he stormed off
'Gods damn it, how can they be so blind just because they hate the guy.' Devon asked himself as he rushed off to the library. More worried about the cursed position and Ginny than anything else.
Within that month Harry had a quidditch game. Which Devon went to but had his head buried in a book as they were at the stands.
Hermione elbowed him. "Devon focus on the game." She said
Devon rolled his eyes and went back to reading but Ron elbowed him on the other side and whispered "I know it's Hermione but even so you have to admit it's rare for her to tell you to stop reading." He said
Devon had to admit that Ron was right and put the book away and watch the game.
And good thing too as he saw a bludger veer off course and nearly hit Harry.
'That was way too sharp of a curve…no fuck No not again!' Devon thought. As he clenched his staff
Hermione looked over and gasped
"That bludger!" She screamed as she relized Harry was being targeted.
Devon watched as Harry avoided the ball from all different angles as it tried to plow into him. Harry was taunted by Draco but didn't see the snitch next to his ear as Harry raced towards it.
In the end and much destruction later Harry caught the snitch but the bludger broke his arm making him crash into the ground.
However the bludger kept going and tried to hit Harry again however Fred flew past and knocked it off course. Sparing Harry's life.
As Devon and the rest of the trio ran down to the pitch Devon fired a spell to destroy the bludger however he missed it
"Bombarta!" Hermione screamed
"Fortunately Ms granger was perfectly accurate.
Devon sighed as he looked down his nerves making the spell miss. Why? He'd had to get this sorted.
Devon was approaching but was shoved out of the way by Lockhart
"Hang in there Harry I got you!" He said
Harry tried to pull his arm away but hissed in pain revealing more of it to Lockhart as he began rambling.
Devon got up and walked over…just in time to see Lockhart vanish the bones in Harry's arm.
"Ah well good news the pain is gone." He said as he held the flimsy arm.
Devon was livid. As he stormed up to Gilderoy "and this is why you leave the medical spells to trained professionals. You made a 2 hour hospital visit into a weeks visit!" Devon ranted.
As he was saying this Harry was carried off the field and taken to the hospital wing while Devon stared down at Lockhart.
"The next time you do something like that I'm going to blast you damn the consequences!" Devon ranted as he turned away.
Lockhart watched his leave before he strode off the field as everyone watched him get chewed out.
'Damn retainer' I need to get rid of him soon.' Gilderoy said to himself.
When Harry got out of the hospital wing he told Devon about Dobby and about he was the cause of the barrier closing.
Devon scratched his head in confusion. "But why would a house elf do this?!" He asked
"Do we have any idea who it could belong to?" Ron asked
Harry shook his head "he wouldn't say."
Hermione was in deep thought and didn't contribute.

Next chapter is the dueling club. And seeing as how chunky this chapter was probably the end of year 2 and then we get into the better stuff.
