PoA 1
As the Hogwarts express pulled into kings cross station and all the students from the Class of 92 left the express some were happy others were sad to miss their friends
None were worried. None more so that 5 in a lone train car on the express Harry Potter Ginny Weasley. Her brother Ron Weasley. Hermione Granger. And over all group protector and de-facto leader Devon Oakland. Devon himself was a Druid from Scottish descent after the last of the English were forced into the highlands of Scotland where the industrial English couldn't reach them.
The other four were standard Wizard children. Well Hermione was a muggle born. But that's no matter.
They reached Kings cross station and they stepped out they saw the Dursley's waiting outside of the station waiting calmly.
Harry gave the others a firm hug like it was the last hug he will ever receive making everyone who knew him a little bit sad inside.
Arthur was last as he whispered "we're trying to get out Harry just hang on."
Harry nodded and with Ginny in hand headed over the standard English car. In the standard English street. On an absolutely standard English day.
The Dursley's sat in the car as Harry reached them and put his stuff and Ginny's in the boot and got in.
"Hey Harry's got a girl with him?" Dudley yelled
Vernon Dursley turned around "what the blazes are you screaming about?!" He asked
"Look dad!" Dudley said as he pointed
Petunia looked over and gasped
Vernon looked at her in slight shock and realized she was crying
No one made his petunia cry. He will get back at that freak for doing so.
Suddenly they opened the car door and crawled in "careful it's going to be tight." Harry said. Ginny sat down in the middle with Harry taking the outer seat
Vernon wanted to rant and scream until the little bitch ran away. That freak doesn't deserve her. She looked too much like his wife's late sister. But the freak and his slut got in before he could say anything so he couldn't kick them out.
Vernon stewed "alright let's go…" he said as he began to drive off.
The car ride was quiet as Ginny was squished between Harry and Dudley, Harry had a protective arm around Ginny. Something Dudley had never seen before. Not only that but the way Dudley looked from the girl to Harry made him realize he'd actually do anything for this girl…which probably meant stuff he shouldn't be doing.
"When we get home there will be a few ground rules…" Vernon said
Harry and Ginny looked at each other worriedly
"Um dad I don't think…" Dudley started
"Shut it!" Vernon snapped not realizing it was Dudley who said it not Harry.
Petunia also winced as they pulled into the driveway they saw Devon was outside 5 privet Drive watering his flowers.
Harry and Ginny got out. "Hello sir." Ginny said
"Girl get in here!" Vernon said as he pointed at his feet
Ginny's smile fell as she headed into the house.
"Is she new?" Devon asked
"One of my Son's friends from his school." Vernon said as he shut the door
In the hallway Ginny winced as Vernon slammed the door before getting into her face.
"Now listen here girl…I don't know what you think you are, but I don't want you here. I don't like you here. I don't know why you are here." He said
"She's here because she wants to be." Harry said trying to stand up for Ginny
Vernon turned on him
"Shut it freak! No one asked you." He snapped as he slapped Harry across the face and smacked him into the table in the hall
"harry!" Ginny screamed
"And you!" Vernon snapped at Ginny and grabbed her
"You are not welcome in this house and I never want to see you-." Vernon was cut off by a doorbell
"Who is it?" He asked in a calm manner.
Still the doorbell kept ringing
Finally Vernon threw Ginny down and opened the door a crack to reveal Devon
"Hello neighbor." Devon said with a smile
"Go away!" Vernon said as he tried to shut the door on him
However Devon spartan kicked it he was done playing nice now and he ment business.
"I should think not, Vernon." Devon said as he stepped in and closed the door behind him he looked down at Ginny and Harry.
"Are you alright?" He asked
Ginny nodded although Devon didn't think so because he saw a bruise start to appear on Ginny's cheek.
Devon dropped down to treat her waving his hand and making the bruse fade
"Your!" Petunia gasped
Devon stood up
"Yes yes I am." He said
"OUT I WILL NOT HAVE ANY FREAKISHNESS IN THIS HOUSE!" Vernon said
"YOU HAVE NO CHOICE IN THE MATTER SIR!" Devon snapped making the Dursley's falter
Devon strode up to them
"And let it be known I would gladly do anything possible to take Mr Potter off your hands. Where he could be loved and cared for like any child should be! instead of having to watch on the sidelines while you make him your slave. You consider us the freaks but you, your worse than any of those Wizards you so spite."
Devon hissed as he helped Harry up as Ginny got up on her own with a limp and clutching her arm.
"Wait…your different, you don't consider yourself one of them." Petunia said
Devon huffed "please the Wizarding world could die in a hole for all I care too closely monitored and not enough freedom. And not halfway as effectively because of it. That's the one thing you at least get right." Devon said
"If your not a wizard…then what are you?" Vernon asked
Devon smiled "I am far worse than any wizard you will meet caused I'm hated in both worlds I'm a pagan."
Indeed Vernon's reaction was quiet vivid
"You!" He roared
"Oh yes indeed here it comes!"devon said
Give me one reason why I shouldn't kick you out to the next week? I'm pretty sure a few church firends of mine would like to have a go at you."
Devon turned
"You wouldn't even get close before I turn you into trash."
Vernon paused "but you can't preform magic on muggles." Vernon said
Devon smirked "apart of the reason I'm hated in both worlds my magic is untraceable. And they hate that." Devon said
He stepped forward as the Dursley's jumped back
"Now to be fair i'm not here to threaten you." Devon said
"You just did though!" Dudley said
Devon ignored the boy.
I just want you to treat Harry and Ginny farely. And to that end I'm willing to make arrangements." Devon said
Vernon paused "oh?" He asked
"Unfortunately Harry needs to stay in this house. However he can stay in my house and get the same effect in the day while he sleeps here at night. He won't bother you. He won't bug you. And you can go about your day like any other."
Vernon thought it over. "And if we refused?"
Devon sighed "if you refused and you still treated Harry like this more direct force may in fact be used. Either a spell that makes you ignore Harry and Ginny. Or other means." Devon said
Vernon paused
"When you say he won't bug us…" he said
"I mean you won't have to feed him or say anything about him before sunrise he and Ginny will get up and come to my house and after sundown he will come back and sleep." Devon said
Vernon nodded "I find that acceptable." He said
"Good and I will be able to cut the monthly stipend you've been using for Harry's welfare then." Devon said
"Wait stipend?!" Harry yelled
Vernon paused
Devon looked over to Harry "you didn't know Dumbledore arranged it so they wouldn't pay for you and use your own money for that. A galleon goes a long way in muggle money."
"And if he never saw a cent of that?" Ginny asked
Devon turned and glared at Harry.
"You mean to tell me you've been enriching yourself off of Potter for your own leisure and not the intended purpose?" Devon asked
The Dursley's froze as Devon turned around. "Harry Ginny go ahead and put your stuff on in my house. I need to have a chat with Dursley's alone." Devon said
Vernon snapped "Dudley go upstairs."
Dudley stepped forward wanting to say something but decided against it and headed up the stairs.
Petunia tilted her head to watch Harry and Ginny go outside
Devon sighed "you are despicable parents."
Petunia snapped a looked at him "what are you talking about?" She asked
Vernon shook his head "it's not your place to question how I raise my family." Vernon said
Devon sighed "look I just want to know if you accept this deal." He said
Vernon sighed
"Yes…yes we accept it." Vernon said reluctantly.
Devon nodded
"Very well I will go and make sure all the needed things are completed for this. Good day Mr Dursley."
Devon headed out to find Harry and Ginny bringing the last of their stuff inside.
Devon crossed over the yard and shut the door as Harry and Ginny turned around
"Devon!" Ginny gasped and hugged him
"Hey Weaslette." Devon said
Ginny pulled away "Weaslette?" She asked
Devon shrugged and smiled "yeah you're a Weasley's and you're the smallest." He said as if explaining why the sky is blue.
Ginny punched him in the arm
"Ow." Devon moaned
"Your problem mate." Harry said as he approached to give him a one arm hug.
Devon reciprocated
"Ah, Harry, good to see you made it in one piece." Devon said
"Yeah well you didn't exactly give us any time to get hurt we'll did you." Harry said
"Not that we mind." Ginny added
"Right, that reminds me Harry sit on the couch you were thrown at a table you must have done injuries." He said
Harry tried to argue "Aw but Devon I feel fine-."
"now!" Devon said
Harry sighed as went into the siting room
"Ginny if you want to you can organize your and Harry's stuff in the left most room." Devon said
Ginny nodded and started to move the stuff in the room.
Devon walked into the sitting room to see Harry laying down on the largest couch bored out of his mind.
Devon summoned his staff. And drew a circle around the couch instantly although Harry didn't want to admit it he felt a massive weight pull off his shoulders.
Devon looked up "judging from your grunt you felt something just now."
Harry reluctantly nodded
"Can you tell me what?" He asked
"My shoulders feel like a massive weight has been taken off them." He said
Devon nodded "I'm going to need you to take off your shirt." He said
Harry paused and sighed "really?" He asked
Devon nodded "unfortunately I need to check." He said
Harry sighed "I hate feeling weak, especially around my friends. It's why I hate the hospital wing so much." He said
Devon nodded "I know Harry. But it's just us for now." He said
"Yeah Your protector and your wife." Ginny said from the door
Devon looked over his shoulder at Ginny
Ginny nodded "the stuff is in the room." She poped off the doorframe
"How is he?" She asked
"Well he's Harry he's refusing treatment." Devon said
"I'm not!" Harry argued
Devon glaired at him "refusing to allow me to inspect the damage is the same as refusing treatment Potter." Devon said
"I'll take my shirt off if you do." Ginny suggested.
"Ginny!" Harry blushed
What it's not like your not going to see anything different In a few years." She argued
Devon watched Harry blush
"Ginny you can do it just so long as you do it behind my back. Devon said Ginny nodded and began taking her shirt off
Harry seeing Ginny was doing it had no reason not to follow and did so reluctantly. When they finished pulling their shirts off they both gasped
"H-Harry?" Ginny asked
"G-Ginny?" Harry asked
Devon stood up "enough I need to focus on one person at a time. Now." Devon said as he began scanning Harry.
"One rib is floating. Two no 3 ribs are cracked and a busted shoulder blade. It will only take a second to fix." Devon said as he waved his arm and healed Harry's wounds.
Devon turned around and found Ginny topless but no wounds
"Ginny did you put a glamor charm on? I know you had wounds." Devon said
Harry spoke up "her wounds healed when you were doing mine." He said
Ginny nodded
Devon looked concerned "that's not possible…" he said
He waved his hand "whatever Ginny you can put your shirt back on Harry you too don't think I didn't see you ogling her. Just next time to choose to do it just be sure it's when I'm not in the room if you have clothes off. I don't need to see you get intimate with one another." Devon said
He dodged a punch from both Harry and Ginny this time as they chased after him.
Later Devon got an owl holding a letter.
Devon took the letter and opened it
After he read it he sighed
"Worst possible timing." He hissed
"What is it?" Harry asked
"I'm afraid I've been summoned to my grove I'll be gone for a week." He said
Ginny paused "but in that case what are we going to do? We can't stay in the house all day can we?" Ginny asked
Devon shook his head "no you can't at least not most of the time. "Look I trust you so if you need to run someplace to get away from the Dursley's you can come here. But I'm unfortunately going to have to make you go back to your uncles for that week I'm away." He said
"When do you leave?" Harry asked
"Immediately." Devon said as he gathered his cloak and staff and walked them across the yard.
Devon knocked on the door with his staff which immediately opened to reveal petunia
"Don't just stand there like that in broad daylight get inside!" She hissed
Devon raised her hand "I'm afraid I have been called away to an urgent meeting and I will not be able to care for Harry and Ginny for a week. None the less I will grab them when I get back. Good day." He said as he started to walk down the street.
Petunia rolled his eyes "crazy man." She hissed as she shut the door
"Alright look Vernon is laying down because of his blood pressure. I want you to weed the garden, mow the lawn. And trim the shrubs." You will have dinner ready by 5 understood?" Petunia asked
Ginny stepped forward "why is it up to Harry to do your work!" Ginny asked
Petunia didn't hesitate to backhand her sending her to the ground.
"Listen here you wrench I don't care who you are it's my house and my rules!" She snapped
Ginny got up as Harry helped her up and Petunia stomped off into the other room
"That horrible women." Ginny said angryly.
For the rest of that week Ginny and Harry do chores while devon was hitchhiking across the countryside.
He reached the Abby on the 2nd day exhausted but determined. As he opened the door into the Abby as the Druids there were taking meal.
The Arch-Druid of the Abby looked up
"Ah Devon we didn't expect you to hitchhike we fully expect you to use the floo or teleport…
Devon paused "I…I really need to get use to doing that more." Devon said
The Druids smiled "at any case you are here and we can begin."
Back at 4 Privet drive.
The week without Devon was hell several times in the week Ginny had to helplessly watch as Harry got beat by Vernon for the most minor of infractions. From snipping the wrong bud of the flowers to burning breakfast something that neither Ginny nor Harry got any of. As well as the fact they had to sleep in separate beds Ginny because she was a "guest" got Harry's room and Harry got "his old room" under the stairs.
Honestly Both Harry and Ginny believed it was just a way for them to lock Harry away in the tiny space.
He couldn't fully lay down there anymore because he was so small so he couldn't even sleep.
And it wasn't like Ginny was safe either as she was also locked in the room. Which was bad of course because of the fact of what happened last year Ginny was having nightmares.
Harry was mostly able to keep her calm through mental speak which they practiced during the night so they could comfort each other
Other times she would just scream and scream which would wake Vernon up which would cause him to visit her.
Harry felt everything he did to her and he swore he was going to kill him if he did anything worse to her as Ginny wouldnt allow him to get in trouble
That was until Wednesday night Ginny had her worst nightmare yet it was so bad that Harry saw it vividly and well…it was bad it well…it had Tom doing unspeakable things to Ginny.
And then to make matters worse Vernon showed up and started beating her…in the same place…
To that end Harry lost it with one hard kick he broke down the door waking everyone in the house even Ginny who gasped
"Oh shit…" she swore
Vernon turned and smiled darkly "oh now you get to sleep well little girl." He said as he pulled his fist back
Only to find another grab it
"You do that…and I break your arm."
Vernon snarled
"Let go of me freak!" He snapped
However Harry held onto him like iron "no." He said as he started to squeeze
Vernon screamed as Harry squeezed his uncles biceps harder
Behind him Petunia tried to run up and hit Harry over the head with a frying pan
However Harry with the aid of Ginny saw it and dodged allowing Petunia to smack Vernon in the head instead as he crumbled to the floor
Harry turned on her and as she tried to swing again Harry thrusted his arm out and crumbled the frying pan into a little ball like it was made of tinfoil
"Leave." Harry said
Petunia went scampering
Harry turned to Ginny
"Get dressed and get your clothes. I'm not spending another hour here." He said
Ginny nodded as she grabbed her clothes and headed off to Devon's house.
Harry and Ginny laid down on the bed in the room closest to the Dursley's home. Ginny slept on Harry's chest. And for the first time that week they slept soundly.
The next day Harry and Ginny stayed in the house the entire time refusing to leave less they be confronted with the Dursley's as Harry made breakfast he sighed he sat down across from Ginny
Ginny looked up "aren't you gonna eat Harry?" She asked
Harry shrugged "I'm not hungry right now." He said
Ginny pushed her plate over to him "eat something." She insisted
Harry sighed but ate nonetheless.
As he was going to slide the Plate back there was the sound of breaking glass which made Ginny and Harry look up.
In Scotland Devon stands over in a circle as he is given his full rank of a Druid
"Welcome to our order Son of Oak and Earth." The Arch-druid said
"Thank you I am happy to be gifted this title and rank I will not let the world forget…" Devon said
The Arch-druid smiled
"Then it is here we give out assignments. Harold you are to head to Norway and learn the ways of the ruins…" the Arch-Druid started
"Devon…your mission is the most important…protect Harry Potter."
Devon stood up "then if you excuse me I shall go and perform my task immediately." He said as he grabbed his staff and teleported home.
Devon looked around to see nearly all the windows smashed and glass everywhere.
"What the fuck is going on here?" He asked
He heard another pane of glass break and a eep was heard in the left mist room of the house
Careful not to step on the glass Devon walked over and opened the door to reveal Harry and Ginny huddling in a corner under the window. The pane of glass over Ginny's head was broken however across the way Devon saw Dudley and his peers throwing rocks at the window breaking off chunks and hitting the two cutting them. Being cheered on by his parents.
Every time a rock chipped a window Ginny would scream so terrified.
Devon stepped into the room to comfort them
Only to be hit in the face with a rock
Devon grabbed his now bleeding lip and snarled he slammed his staff down and all the windows in the house repaired themselves as another rock it the glass
This time the window bent and warpered before springing back and making the rock slam back into the one who threw it being one of Dudley's firends.
Dudley, seeing the results, stopped throwing rocks entirely; however, his other friends didn't. Having tunnel vision of tormenting Harry Potter and his Slut of a girlfriend.
Devon stormed off
"Has this been going on for a while?" Devon asked
"Sense we got here." Harry said as Ginny wept into his arm.
"You're covered in bruises, Harry." Devon said
Harry shrugged "it was worse at the Dursley's." Harry said simply
To say devon saw red was an understatement as he ran outside and shouted the Dursley's out for attacking his house and he was going to sue them for property damage and if any of his animals inside were her there medical bills too.
That made the Dursley's pause. They knew that Harry was in there and they let the boys throw the rocks anyways.
The Dursley's not wanting to have conflict decides to move away from Devon
Devon headed back inside and helped Harry and Ginny get over the trauma the Dursley's limped onto them.
Devon entered the room and saw Ginny and Harry huddled together protecting each other.
Devon sighed at them and helped them get food.
Harry looked at Devon "can we stay here for the night?" He asked
Devon nodded until an hoot was heard from the kitchen table as a Brown barn owl sat on the table Errol was there the Weasley's family (Percy) owl'
Devon opened the letter and read it before chuckling
"Heh look at that…" he said
Harry and Ginny looked up as Devon flipped them the page.
"Off yo Egypt we go." He said
Ginny looked over "shall we tell the Dursley's?"
Harry scoffed "they wouldn't care." He said
Devon nodded "heck knowing them they'd probably celebrate hope we get trapped in a tomb." Devon said
Ginny nodded "probably…ok how are we getting to the burrow?" She asked
"Well fortunately your now under the protection of a full class Druid now…so hang onto my robes." Devon said as he teleported them to the burrow
They landed like they were stepping outside a door and Harry looked down surprised to be in one piece
"I'm surprised how easy that was." He said
Devon leaned over "I know intoxicating isn't it." Devon said
Molly Weasley rushed outside seeing her Daughter and and for all intents and purpose's husband arrive
"Ooh I didn't expect you'd arrive so quickly. We have a full extra hour before the international portkey arrives." Molly said
Ginny smiled halfway though "that's great mum." She said
Molly noticed this but gave a beaming smile "Harry Devon why don't you head inside I left a bit of food on the table in case you were hungry." She said
Harry and Devon knowing they were being dismissed walked away.
Molly turned to Ginny and asked her straight up
"What's wrong dear?"
It was at this point Ginny fully broke down weeping into her mothers arms.
"I-it's Harry…" she sobbed
Molly tensed not sure weither to call him outside to give him a beating of the lifetime or have her explain as she looked fine with Harry a second ago.
"He…oh those bastard Dursley's! They are so horrible to him. Words just can't describe how they treat him. A room that is more full of trash you cant even move in. And a cupboard under the stairs." How Harry hasn't killed them yet is a mystery." Ginny said
Molly looked down nearly heart broken
"What happened dear?" She asked
As she explained Molly was growing more and more red when she decided that one day she'll have a word with those Dursley's laws or not and dear boy will they remember it.
Ginny pulled away as Molly bent down "feeling better dear?" She asked
Ginny nodded
"Right, head up stairs, see what you might want to pack for Egypt. Before we go." Molly said
Ginny ran off past Devon and Harry and up the stairs
Harry looked at Devon
"Say we're not taking the portkey are we?" Harry asked stuffing his face with a sausage that was on his plate.
"You will Harry I will not. Pagans are unallowed to travel by conventional systems like floo or Portkey we can get away with Floo but a portkey is so heavily regulated that we needed other ways to move. Thus the spell I've been using was invented works a lot more like apprating although a lot harder to learn but even harder to trace and stop needless to say I can go anywhere I want and no one can stop me." Devon said
Harry was impressed "wow…" he said
Devon nodded "right and now that I'm a full Druid I now have no limiters on my powers so Bow not even the ministry can tell me I've been doing underage magic. Not that they could trace it anyway. Expect to learn more about this this year." Devon said
Suddenly there was a scream upstairs and Ron came belting down the steps
"HARRY YOUR HERE!" Ron screamed as the two embraced into a manly hug
Harry chuckled "what sort of trouble have you been gotten up to without me?" Harry asked
"Oh me…nothing…" Ron shrugged
Suddenly there was an explosion overhead followed by a scream from outside from Molly
"BOYS!"
Ron grinned "the twins though." He said
Harry smiled "never a dull moment."
"Not home without it." Ron replied
Suddenly Molly screamed again louder this time of it was possible
"BOYS DOWN HERE NOW!" Molly said
Suddenly a window open up and Fred poped his head out "what is it mother?" Fred asked
"Hurry up the portkey is about to activate you don't want to be left behind." Molly said to the window
Fred looked back inside "George mom says the portkey's about to go." He said
"Alright alright let me stabilize this…" George said as Fred shut the window
Molly sighed
"Those two and their jokes…"
Ginny and Harry exited the house hand in hand which Fred and George were poking fun at while they waited for the key to go off
However Devon leveled his staff "don't you dare Fred or George Weasley I honestly don't care. But I swear if you mentally hurt your sister to the point it physically affects there bond there will be one less brother on this trip." Devon said
"Hey you can't do that can he mother?" Fred (or George) asked Molly.
Molly was not amused "aside from the fact I agree with him fully no he cannot however while yes we are seeing bill in Egypt and this is just as much a family trip you need to remember what started this." Molly said
Percy nodded "Harry and Ginny's "soul-bond"." Percy finished in air qoutes clearly not believing in the "pagan rubbish." And was more suited for more "civilized Magic."
Devon sighed "laugh at it all you want but once bill confirms it you'll see." Devon said
"Yeah and once he says your full of it Ginny will be back where she belongs and harry will head back home." Percy said
"WOAH!" Ron yelled
Arthur stepped forward "Percy that was very out of line you apologize now!" Arthur said
Percy paused and nodded "your right I let my emotions get ahead of myself I'm sorry harry. You do deserve a place in this family." Percy said
Harry nodded
As the rest of the Weasley's grabbed the portkey or each other they looked over to see Devon standing alone.
"Oh come on Devon come join us." Molly said
Devon shook his head "can't Molly. If I'm found with you transporting me due to my relationship your travel license will be revoked don't worry though I'll be right there when you get there." Devon said
Molly nodded and looked over everyone and saw Ron holding Scabbers
"Ron do you need to bring Scabbers?"
Ron looked up "but mom he's getting homesick."
Molly sighed "alright but take care of him don't let him get lost."
Finally the portkey activated and they were off.
In Egypt there was an sand dune which everyone landed behind
Immediately after they landed Harry, Ginny and Ron all fell flat on there faces Scabbers took the opportunity to try to run away. Ron clambering after him
"Scabbers come back!" He called
As Scabbers Ran a bright flash appeared before him making him pause as Devon appeared
Then the rat ran between his legs
"Scabbers!" Ron called
Devon turned around and called
"Accio Scabbers!" And the rat flew into his hand which he handed back to Ron
"Oh thank you." He said
Harry walked up to Devon
"That was ministry Magic are you ok?" He asked
Devon smiled "remember full Druid now they can't touch me." He said
In the ministry the misuse of magic office the recent report came in and the women behind the counter was about to stamp it and allow the enforcer's to go collect however a hand stopped her and she looked in bold letters on the paper
"Exempt"
The women was confused but eh, the paperwork doesn't lie. So she threw out the sheet of paper.
In Egypt the family met Bill. Who came to meet them
"Oh Bill!" Molly cheered as she hugged his eldest son
"Hello mom dad…" Bill said as he started to greet everyone when he stopped at devon
"Your new I've never seen you before." Bill said
"Nor i you but I heard much about you. Devon Oakland." Devon shook his hand
Bill turned to greet Ginny and Harry
"And I of course can't…Woah!" Bill gasped as he stumbled back
Devon smiled "carefully Bill." Devon said
Bill turned to him "you could've warned me." He said
"We needed to know if it was genuine. We couldn't ask you before hand because it could skew results." Devon said
Bill nodded in understanding even if he was still irritated
"Trust me it's real." Bill said
Percy was shocked "wait you mean…the bond is real?" He asked
Bill looked over to Percy "you will find Brother there are very few legends and myths that are not real." He said as Bill looked back at the couple, "In fact I'd go on a limb to say it's the strongest ever recorded." He said
He turned to his mother and father "how did this happen?"
"It's probably easier if we find a place to talk privately." Arthur said
Everyone nodded as Bill lead them to a wizarding camp not far from the pyramid's it was set up like a normal Archaeology site although the work done there was always done inside tents so the wizards could use there magic freely.
"This camp is a spot for us to analyse very old Egyptian magic curses and counter curses that we can reverse engineer to our modern day." Bill explained.
Devon sighed "I hope you're using only the most careful methods Bill and not rushing anything." Devon warned
Bill nodded "we're trying but the ministry has us on a deadline." He said
Devon stomped forward "forget the deadline Bill if just one of those curses goes off it will mean the shattering of the Statute of Secrecy instantly as the world falls into Armageddon." Devon said
Bill paled "how do you know this?" He asked
Devon smiled "your not the only one who specializes in Egyptian Lore." Devon said
Bill turned to his mother and father.
"Mum Dad…who is he?" Bill asked
"Devon is…someone very special and not someone to mess with."
Bill nodded and turned to Devon "I agree fully about what you say. I've read several Hieroglyphs about the end of the world and curses on tombs. We don't let a lot of people get close to those." Bill said
Devon nodded
Arthur smiled
"Anyways let's get a photo to memorate our time here!" He said as they took a photo with everyone in the family including a photobomber which bright red hair. And a turban covering his face.
The photo was printed in the Daily Prophet back in England.
As the Weasley's looked at the photo they noticed the photo bomber
"They who is that?" Ginny pointed out
"Who would ruin our perfect family photo?" Molly asked
"Why mother I'm surprised you forget one of your sons." The mysterious man said as he flipped over the flap of the turban to reveal Charlie Weasley the dragon tamer.
"Charlie!" Ginny cried as she threw herself at her brother
Charlie hugged her "Ah little one it's so good to see you!" As they hugged and kissed
Bill walked forward "careful Charlie hug her for too long and you might make her husband jealous." Bill said teasingly.
Charlie looked down at Ginny "husband?! Have you been dating without my permission? Who is this man I need to beat up who stole your heart?" Charlie teased as Ginny punched him in the shoulder
"Ah I'm kidding Ginny it's good to know you've got a good boyfriend to stick with you even if a bit young. But seriously who is he so I can sit him down and talk to him about the Weasley family values." Charlie said
"That husband would be me." Harry said stepping forward.
"Harry Potter." He said
Charlie looked impressed at Ginny "well childhood fantasy came true after all." He said which Ginny responded with another punch.
"This however is no fantasy." And in fact they are all but legally married." Bill said
Charlie looked at Bill "really brother?" Were you hit with a curse from one of these tombs what exact power dictates this to say who and when a couple are married?" He asked
"Only the one we care about. Our dear sister has herself wrapped up in a soul bond." Bill said as he laid a protective hand on her shoulder.
Charlie was impressed. "Well shit." He said
"CHARLIE!" Molly gasped
"Sorry mother but you have to admit it's a shock to the system!"
Molly sighed "honestly poor language control and In front of your younger brothers too. Even if you have already left the nest. If you lose control over it again I'll ring your neck!" Molly says
Charlie and Bill looked at each other "yes mother."
Molly smiled as Ron stepped forward "so Bill where are we going first?!" He asked
Bill smiled "settle down Ron. First we're going to get lunch and drop the stuff off at the hotel." Bill said
Ron nodded as they headed to the hotel and settled down Bill helped his family unpack Harry, Ginny and Devon had there own room while Ron and the others all shaired a room.
"Why does Harry Ginny and Devon get there own room?" Ron asked not whining, just curious.
"because Devon paid for the room tobe his own as for why Harry and Ginny are in there I don't know I thought you were sleeping with us?" Molly said
"There aren't enough beds for the entire family to fit in one room so I decided to buy a second room so they were more comfortable." Devon said
Molly nodded and looked expectingly at Ron
"Alright I have no problem with it." Ron said guienuinely. "I hope you have a good time sleeping Ginny." Ron said
The rest of the family was confused. But we're pulled away by Fred "just so long as gin-gin and Harry don't get too close under the blankets we're all fine with it." He said
"FRED WEASLEY!" Molly said as Harry and Ginny blushed
Devon rolled his eyes. As Ron walked up to his mother with a piece of parchment "hush Ron I'll sign the Hogsmead Letter once we get back." Molly said
Devon sighed "oh shit Hogsmead." He said as he looked at Molly who glaired at him
Devon looked sheepishly
Bill walked in holding a piece of parchment that just came in.
"Of course." Bill said
"What is it?" Charlie asked from the Hotel table
"I've got to go to work because they unearthed something and as they senior Curse breaker on site I'm required to be there." Bill said
Devon nodded "that's fine we can go along with you."
Molly nodded "perhaps we can get a tour of a few of the pyramids." Molly said
Bill sighed "don't get your hopes up I'm not even allowed to view several of the pyramids and I'm the highest Curse breaker here." Bill said
Arthur patted his shoulder "we'll figure it out son." He said
Bill nodded and headed to the Curse breaker site with his family in tow.
They arrived at the camp and Bill turned to the rest of the family.
"Give me a few minutes I'll be be out as soon as I can then we can see if we can't check out the pyramids."
Suddenly the tent flap opened and another man stepped out "Ah bill good your here. Please come quickly. Oh bring your family too no need to stay out in that blasted heat." A man in his older years walked in
"Bill I thought you were the senior Curse breaker here who is he?" Ron asked
Bill nudged Ron "that is the client. Meet Dr. Spencer Gehrash. Egyptologist from American Harvard university." Bill said
"An American are you a squib?" Devon asked
Dr. Gehrash looked up "in a way yes." He said
Devon smiled as he relized what he was trying to say.
Bill walked forward "he might be a muggle but he's known well in the Magical world."
Devon nodded "so what did you want us to see?" Devon asked
The man smiled "easier to show you right this way."
As they walked outside the tent they headed to one of the pyramids Bill looked worried
"Dr. Are you sure this is safe?" He asked
The doctor waved his hand "it's fine." The approached a pyramid which was guarded "ID…" the guard asked
The doctor flashed his ID and went inside.
The others went up step up and the guard stopped them.
"ID." He said
Bill showed his badge but was rejected.
"I'm with the man who just went in." Bill said
The guard shrugged "sorry only badge clearances level 5 and up and get in." He said
"Let us pass we'll be careful." Devon said
The guard looked at devon then said "you take full responsibility for this group?" He asked
Devon nodded
The guard nodded "very well you can go in." He said as he pulled Devon aside
"No funny business." He said
Devon pulled his arm away. "As a Druid I have no funny business. Sir." Devon said as he strode in the guard looked up and paled "oh shit…"
Bill watched the entire interaction and pulled Devon aside
"Hey what was that?" He asked
"What?" Devon asked
"That? With the guard?" Bill said
Devon looked at Bill. "Listen we can talk about this later. Let's keep moving. GINNY DON'T TOUCH THAT!" Devon snapped as he ran off
Ginny was about to touch a tied rope on sealing a door closed
Ginny jumped as she heard Devon shout and spun around as everyone froze Devon appeared and grabbed Ginny. he held her to make sure she didn't accidentally brush it "don't move….it's a curse knot… one of the very few powerful magicks the Egyptians had that were lost to time." Devon said
"W-what do they do?" Harry asked suddenly worried
"Depending on how powerful they were it varies however I do remember a report that one person broke a Curse knot and later went insane screaming about locust's and no one could find any
He found a way to a magical store and it was discovered the locust were inside of him eating him from the inside out." Devon said
"Wicked!" Fred and George said in awe
Molly was about to berate them but Devon beat her
"It's not wicked imaging being bitten by a hundred fire ants then them crawling inside You and biting you more?" Devon said
Fred and George pailed as they realized what he was getting at
Suddenly there was a cough and they turned around to see Dr. Gehrash with a flashlight while the other wizards had there wands out and casted lumos.
"If your done ditta dallying this way." He said
He lead them deeper into the tomb until they saw a flat wall. After a push they found a hidden chamber and inside they saw a stone much like the Rosetta Stone but with 5 different languages.
"What in the world!" Harry gasped
"We found this in a secret chamber behind where the original Rosetta Stone was found." Dr Geharash said
The stone was far larger than the original Rosetta Stone as it was mostly intact chick that was the top part of the original stone was the title of the peace treaty. And other official business about how the kingdom of Egypt will be governed. But it filed in several other languages as well that were not on the original stone
Bill approached as close as he could before the Dr. Grabbed him
"Careful not too close the last person who did nearly went mad. We isolated the crew that heaved it out of the tomb until we can be sure there ok." The Dr said
Devon stepped forward "have you tried to read it?" He asked
He nodded "it actually appeared to be the continuation of the Rosetta Stone look at the left edge. And top. They fit perfectly."
Devon looked at him "what are the languages on it?" He asked the Dr.
"There are five. Four we can understand and one incomprehensible to us."
"I'm making out some Goblin Runes." Bill said as he squinted
"There is a script of Wavy letters flowing like water. What is that?" Ginny asked
Indeed there was a set of passages waved in the end.
Devon jumped in "that Ginny is an impossibly old language. Some muggles believe it yo be completely fictional and a made up creation of an English Author and philologist J.R.R Tolkien, the Language is Tengwar, the language of the Elves. It appears Tolkien has stumbled upon old Documents of the elves before they became illiterate. And was somehow able to break the code and deconstruct it. I wonder how many others of those languages he so called "created" were actually secret records." Devon said
"Wait are you saying the house elves we know today?" Harry asked
"Very much so they were a proud race and would work for to toe with humans quite a lot. Apparently as I'm reading this they hit a bit of a decline in the amazons and we're hoping to ease trade relations with Egypt, well known for food production to save their starving people." Devon said
"I have a feeling that they didn't keep their word…" Arthur said
Devon nodded "it might explain where the Sea people came from and why no links to any people of that era match." Devon said
"What are the other languages then?" Charlie asked as he looked over to Fred and George who were frantically trying to write stuff down.
"The languages on there are Goblin Combat Runes. A type of runes I've never known existed but was confirmed by Gringotts when a representative came down to check on our progress. They tried to have us stop studying it immediately but once they saw the script we couldn't read it and understood they clamped up. And left.
"So there Goblin Combat Ruins, Elvish," Fred said
"The four we understand are Goblin Combat Runes. Goblin Common. Which is what most of the combat ruins normal Wizards use. Elvish, and Egyptian." Dr. Gehrash said
"Where is the fifth language on the stone I don't see it." Devon said
"Look at the title." Dr. Gehrash said
"What language is that?" Percy asked
"It's Druidic." Devon answered almost immediately
Dr. Gehrash turned to him "I thought the Druids didn't have a written language, preferring to use memory." He said
Devon nodded "They do, however when they came in contact with a people that didn't go off memory they used this it's a subcategory of Gaelic mostly spoken but sometimes written. It's pronounced like Italian and thus has no tenses or gender or shifting vowels. This it's one of the harder languages to learn." Devon said
The Dr. nodded
"Seeing as the Druidic title is at the top it gives credence to the fact that the Druids were the mediators of this treaty." Devon said
"And thus giving them ownership of the stone." He said
Right which explains why the Goblins left in a huff. Having a secret language they've been trying to keep hidden from noesy Wizards only to have the final say if it's revealed or not very dangerous. The goblins have been known to start wars over even less petty things." Devon said
"Indeed you are right." A voice said behind them
Everyone turned towards the voice to see a deligation of Goblins.
"I'm Director Ragknot leader of the Goblin nation."
Devon turned around.
"Devon Oakland." Devon said
The other wizards bowed to the goblins as accepted costume, even Dr. Gehrash. Except Devon didn't
Director Ragknot looked at Devon "Didn't anyone tell you that wizards are supposed to bow to Goblins?" He asked almost insulted
"Huh? Oh I guess the outfit didn't give it away, I'm a Druid." Devon said
Suddenly there was a clank and then the goblins were bowing.
"Stand up, this is a delegation, act like foreign dignitaries not like chastised nobles." Devon said
Director Ragknot spoke in his natural tounge "anyone who is still laying down by the I turn around is being Executed when we get back."
He turned around to see everyone standing he nodded and turned back around.
"Now how are we going to discuss the Stone and its contents?" The director said
Devon shook his head "I'm not at liberty to speak about the stone but I do know who can if you can give me a second I'll get him and be right back."
Devon raised his staff and teleported away.
The goblins looked in awe as the space left by Devon
"With the way they act you'd think they just spoke to god." Ron whispered to bill
Before Bill could chastised him the Director spoke
"We did basically just speak to a god. The Druids are the peak of magickal society for a reason and while much of it has been lost to time. The Gaelic Shamins and Druids were so entwined with nature that they shared the views of living things the same as plants.
It was the Power of the Druids that allowed the goblins to be as powerful as they were. As well as give us the ability to trust humans at all. Indeed the fact that you use our gold banks is because of the Druids. They are the mighty rule here." The Director said
"Ah yes the orde do druida. The emergency summit that is held in referendum in cases of global calamity. The genocide of the Amazonian Elves. And the invasion of the Sea people. Was something we didn't want to happen again." The Arch-Druid of the Abby said
"Director Ragknot turned "and who are you to say that?" He asked
"Ah, director Ragknot, why I am Dreavon O'Connally." The Arch Druid said.
Devon and the others looked away.
"I think it's best that we leave them to this…" he said
The rest of that week the family went into different pyramids. And other structures. Some with things bill had never seen. But Devon waved them off.
"This is the oldest pyramid in Egypt and in a second you will see why." Devon said as he slammed his staff on the ground and lit up the entire chamber
Ginny gasped "is that cuneiform?!"
Devon nodded "correct Ginny." Many muggles believe that the first wizards were ancient Egyptian's however this is far from the truth. As you can see. And as I've told you from my teachings, Paganism is as old as civilization itself, thus wizard kind is as old as humanity." Devon said
"Incredible…" Bill gasped
"Yeah…makes you wonder what else he's capable of." Charlie asked
Percy looked at Devon and without knowing he was doing it fired a curse at Devon
However Devon slammed his staff once more on the ground and was protected by a shield
Percy was bound and disarmed in a second by Harry Ron and Ginny wandlessly. With Harry snapping his fingers and disarming Him. Ron flicking his wrists and binding him and Ginny drawing a pentagram and casting a protective shield around him to ensure it was a negative effect on the pyramid that had the effect on him.
The family was stunned
"Ronald! Ginny!" Molly gasped
"Good work you three." Devon said
Ginny, Harry and Ron smiled
"But…Wha…Ginny?" Molly asked
"You didn't think I'd not take them under my wing and not teach them how to defend themselves did you Molly?" Devon asked
"But…the misuse of magic…" Fred and George said
"Is untraceable…" Charlie said
Bill looked angered "your corrupting them."
However it was Ginny who turned "oh really? He's corruping us after he literally helped save me from dying a month ago Bill?!" Ginny said as she ran off
Devon and Harry looked at her run " she has still not gotten over that." He said
"Nope." Harry said and sighed "I'll talk to her you keep going."
Eventually they found that Percy was under a slight spell which broke when Ginny severed the bond with the shield and eventually the trip was over.
Harry hugged Ginny as they stood away from each other
"I'll miss you I'll hopefully see you in a few weeks." He said
Ginny nodded "I know it will feel like forever." She said
The two placed a hand on each other's hearts and said at the same time " I'll be in here."
Upon hearing that promise Molly and Arthur moaned as the same thoughts echoed in their mind 'so much like James and Lilly.'
Molly stepped forward and pushed Ginny closer to Harry and Devon
Ginny looked back
"But mom." She said
Molly nodded "go we can wait another week or two." She said
Finally Ginny vanished as did Harry and Devon and they arrived at 5 privet drive
Once they got there they found a letter on the table labeled urgent. For Devon
He opened it as Harry and Ginny snuggled up to one another
"Oh shit." Devon cursed
Harry looked up "what?" He asked
Devon instead of explaining just dropped the note in front of Harry
"Sirius Black has escaped Azkaban, Harry must stay at 4 privet drive for the rest of the summer. Do not take him off the property."
Harry deflated
"I'm sorry Harry, I'll keep an eye out but I must insist it will be safer. Black can shred through these protections easily." Devon said
Harry nodded and walked out of Devon's house and into The Dursleys.
Once they got threre Vernon slammed Harry into the wall making Ginny scream in fear
"Listen here you little shit…my sister is coming over and your going to be quiet and do everything we ask of you. And no magic ever got it?" He asked
Harry nodded as Vernon pulled away.
Much of the week went fine until the final day when Marge was getting drunk and started to ramble about Harry's parents.
Ginny tries to run away to get Devon to calm Harry down but Marge pulls her back and insults her as a sow and a whore.
Harry in his anger blows up her aunt and Devon runs in
He sees the carnage and looks at Harry and Ginny.
"Get to my house now!" Devon said
Harry and Ginny rushed out and headed inside. "Grab your stuff. And get ready to go." Devon said as he helped them inside.
"Where are we going?" Harry asked
"The Leakey Calderon there will be wizards soon to check up on this incident you cannot be here when they do." Devon said
"Why?" Harry asked
"Because they can feel the trace of pagan magick here and questions will be asked." Devon said as they started to walk down the street.
"Why don't we teleport?" Harry asked
"Same reason. While I said it's untraceable it's kinda like that but it's fudged and if your good enough it can be traced." Devon said
Harry sat down and looked across the street to see a big black dog. Harry jumped up and went to raise his hand
Only for a big triple decker bus to show up.
Devon rushed to Harry
"Did you see it?" He asked
"What?" Harry asked
"The dog!" Devon said
"Y-yeah I- I did. Why?" Harry asked
"It's…it's nothing…it just felt off…" Devon said before he patted Harry "get on the Bus." He said
Harry and Ginny got on the bus and they drove off
Out of the bushes the dog transformed Into a person who remained in the bush. "I don't know who you are Devon Oakland…but I hope you keep my godson safe…" Sirus black said as he dropped the daily prophet which was waterlogged from the rain of Azkaban. To show the Weasley's family photo. With a caption of who was who. Including Harry Potter and Devon Oakland.
The Knight bus lead them to the Leaky Calderon. Where they dropped off "I'm going go to find stuff in Diagon alley you find a room to stay in Harry. Ginny I know you want to stay but I think it's best you return home to let your mother know your safe." Devon said
Ginny nodded and kissed Harry on the lips as she flooed home.
Harry walked up the stairs and saw Cornelius Fudge. Standing there "Harry! Oh thank goodness your safe!" He said as he shook Harry's hand.
"I um…who are you?"
Oh I'm um I'm Cornelius Fudge I'm the prime minister of magical Britain. Now Harry I know your worried but your aunt had her memory restored and changed and you should be fine with going back to your patens next summer. For now feel free to spend the rest of the summer here and don't go out at night alone." The prime minister said
"Um…yes sir but why?" Harry asked
Fudge patted Harry "calm yourself Harry it's not something you need to be worried about. Certainly it's not like a mass murderer is trying to kill you or anything." Fudge said
Suddenly the door opened and Devon walked in followed by Tom the bartender "thank you for giving Harry the old room Tom I promise I will pay you for this." Devon said
"Ah no need to worry my boy after what you've done it's on the house." Tom said as he headed back down stairs "I'll make you breakfast." He said
Devon stood in the door as Fudge saw Devon and pailed
"Oakland…" fudge said
"Oh prime minister!" Devon said as he strode forward
"I hope you're doing your absolute damndest to recapture Sirius Black." Devon said
Fudge stuttered "I- I mean we certainly are but…what about?" He asked
Devon tilted his head toward Harry. "I keep my client informed about the danger he is in. I'll protect him as long as you do the same." Devon said
Fudge nodded "we will but things are not always as it seems." He said as he strode off.
"What was that about?" Harry asked
Devon watched him go "I don't know… I've never liked Fudge as he nearly made me not able to meet you and protect you." Devon said
"But you did, its fine." Harry said
Devon nodded "yeah…" come on let's explore Diagon alley." Devon said
As Harry and Devon explored the alley. Harry saw the newest broom the fire bolt but he knew his broom was well enough that it didn't matter anymore.
Upon the first day hedwig was back at the room with a letter From ginny. Saying how her family reacted to her being safe and was able to tell her they would see Harry in a few weeks when they went to get there stuff.
Harry smiled
'I'll wait for you gin.' Harry said
'I know.' A voice said in Harry's head.
Soon it was time for spring shopping. And Harry got his books for this year. He remembered considering to take Care of magical divination. But devon was able to convince Harry about taking Runes and arithmancy he was unable to convince Ron but getting Harry was enough.
And eventually The entire Weasley clan met in the Leaky Calderon where Hermione spent her birthday money on buying a cat called Crookshanks who was part Kezeal. Ron didn't like the cat because he ran after Scabbers. Devon was able to cut off the conflict. But Harry Ginny and Devon had a forbidding feeling in them about this issue.
Harry and Devon hear about Sirius black from Molly and Arthur by easedropping
Harry turns to Devon "you promise me that no matter what happens you'll never lie to me about black?" Harry asked
"Nothing this important." Devon swears Harry nodds
"I don't want to kill him…but I do want to confront him and ask him why? Why did he betray my parents." Harry said
Devon nodded
Eventually they boarded the Hogwarts express and headed off to there third year.
They found there Cabin filled by a guy carrying a luggage and looking worn.
"Poor fellow he look like he hasn't had sleep in months…" Hermione said
"Be careful around him." Devon said
Harry looked up at him "why?"
Devon sighed "it matters not. Just be careful around him, Harry." Devon said
The man opened an eye "Harry… Harry Potter?" He asked
Harry jumped and spun around
"Oh my boy you look just like your father…" The man said as his head dipped
" do you need something? Here breath this in." Devon said as he reached into his cloak and pulled out a vial and gave it to the man to sniff
"Oh MAN I FEEL BETTER!" the man said loudly
"It's hand Ground pettermint with a few other herbs like coffee beans." Devon said
"That outfit…are you a Druid?" The man asked
"I am." Devon nodded
"I'm very happy to meet you I've been wandering the country looking for a spot to take me in. Tell me have you seen a place in the Scottish highlands?" He asked
"That's the place I studied and lived my whole life sir." Devon said
"Remus…Remus Lupin. And yes Harry I did in fact know your parents. We were quite a group of troublemakers, something I've learned you got yourself into as well." Remus said
Harry shrugged. Then looked at the window to see the glass starting to fog up.
"Has it gotten colder in here?" Harry asked
Suddenly turning around to see a large black figure covered in drapes Harry started to feel very lightheaded. And start to pass out as Devon slammed his staff on the ground and. Bright light stopped the beast in its tracks but Devon was getting exhausted.
Suddenly a silver mist drove straight into the beast sending it down the hall.
Harry gasped as Ginny held onto him
"W…what was that?" Harry asked
"Eat done chocolate that will help…as for what it was. That was a dementor. The guards of Azkaban prison. They must be on the train searching for Black." Remus looked at Devon
"That was quiet powerful magick you've done there." He said
Devon panted and broke off a piece of Harry's chocolate
"Yeah but nothing as good as yours if it's one thing we Druids are envious about it's the many different ways you modern wizards can deal with different threats. We only have one easy shield. One medium shield and one great shield to defend us against everything." Devon said
Wizards are envious of you because of that ability. Us wizards are only able to go on offensive spells to normal drive away enemies." Remus said as he stood up
"Excuse me, I need to owl the headmaster." Remus said as he left.
"So defensive against the dark arts teacher?" Devon asked
Everyone nodded "obviously."
Finally the train reached the hogsmeade station and Luna showed Harry thestrals that pull the carts. Which Harry, Ginny and Devon could see. As everyone else thought they were mad but Devon explained why.
"But then how could Ginny?" Ron asked
"Probably either because Harry could or maybe the chamber." Devon said
Ron nodded "right…" he looked over to see Crookshanks reaching over to his lap to snatch Scabbers
"Hey bad!" Ron said as he pulled Scabbers away which the car hissed at Ron.
"You're cat is crazy!"
"Don't you dare Ronald!
"Maybe that cat is right Ron, Scabbers isn't normal." Devon said
"Scabbers has been in my family for 12 years he was Percy's normally.
"Bit of a long time for a normal Garden rat." Hermione said
"True but normal life can leech off magickal folk all the time. Why the Archdruid has a terrarium in his office where a sealed glass ball with a stick filled with water has a fish in it. Which feeds off the natural bacteria in the tank. It's only supposed to live for a few months. But the arch Druid says the fish has been alive for 15 years (*true story of my dad btw and yes the fish is still alive today.)
Finally they reached the great hall where Harry Ginny and Hermione were pulled away and the welcoming speech was spoken by Dumbledore. Telling of Hagrids promotion to the Care of magical creatures post. And the retirement of professor Kettelburn. And the dementors on the grounds for the search for Sirius black.
