Mileena is 22 years old in MKX. If she had lived, her age would've progressed to 24 on MK11.

Also, Kung Lao has yet to be mentioned.

Mileena gazed lovingly at her son's sleeping form while stroking his head. He slept soundly in the cradle. She couldn't believe she could create something so precious and dear to her heart.

She recalled the day he was born.

Flashback…

Zareta had taken him away to give him his first bath.

"He hasn't changed all that much." She casually said.

Mileena gave her a questioning look. "What do you mean?"

"He still looks like his father."

"So what? He's perfect!"

Zareta chuckled, "Of course, he is, my dear."

"Was he supposed to change?"

"No. The only change is that he is now a part of you. You're his mother now."

After Zareta finished bathing him, she brought him back to Mileena. Mileena gazed into her son's eyes. He gazed back with eyes slightly aglow.

Mileena curiously looked at Zareta. "What shall I call him?"

"What do you want to call him?" Zareta asked.

Mileena shrugged, "I don't know. I wanted his father to give him a name, but he's not here."

Zareta chuckled, "Well since his father's not present, I shall give him a name."

She approached the infant and placed a hand on his head. "He shall be called Hijiri."

Mileena watched her son's eyes flicker.

"Awe, he accepts his new name." Zareta said.

"Hijiri," Mileena whispered to him.

He gazed at her and cooed.

Mileena felt her heart melt, and she held him closer.

"He accepts you as his new mother." Zareta said.

He began to fuss. Mileena began to rock him, but he continued to fuss until he started to cry.

She glanced at Zareta with a look of panic. "What's wrong with him?"

"He's hungry, my dear. You need to feed him."

Mileena looked around the room. "But I ate the last of the jerky you gave me."

Zareta chuckled and shook her head. She approached closer and pulled down a part of Mileena's top to reveal her right breast.

Mileena didn't protest, but she curiously watched as Zareta slowly guided her son's head closer to her breast until he latched onto her nipple and began feeding.

Mileena observed in fascination. "I had no idea."

Zareta laughed, "My dear, you have so much to learn."

Mileena leaned in and gently left a kiss on her son's forehead as he slept.

It was late.

Usually, she would be asleep by now, but lately, she had been having trouble falling asleep. The main reason was her reoccurring dreams with Scorpion had suddenly stopped a week ago. She felt a sense of disconnect without knowing why.

Did something happen to him?

Zareta had told her not to worry about it.

At this point, she knew to trust Zareta's words. But still, she couldn't help but worry that something had happened to him.

She returned to her bed and closed her eyes.

Eventually, she managed to fall asleep.

During her time with Zareta, she learned sorcery and various incantations. Mileena spent the other half of her time being a new mom to her son Hijiri. Parenthood wasn't easy for her since she didn't experience it much from Shao Kahn and Sindel. She was thankful that Zareta was there to help her out.

One day, while doing one of her enchantments, Mileena unintentionally changed herself to look more like her sister, Kitana.

Mileena couldn't stop looking at her reflection. She stared in awe and consistently stroked her new cheeks.

She couldn't hold her excitement and ran to Zareta's room. She burst through the door, excitedly thrilled, "Look what I did!"

Zareta was seated on the floor with her legs crossed, obviously in a middle of a meditation, but she merely opened her eyes and gave Mileena a warm smile.

"I'm glad you were able to figure that out, my dear."

"Now I look like my sister!"

"Indeed! Now show me your teeth!"

Mileena looked at her, confused. "How?"

"Use your mind." Zareta said and continued, "Say the enchantment in your head."

Mileena nodded and tried it.

Immediately, her Tarkatan teeth reappeared.

Zareta grinned and stood up. "Excellent job! You are finally learning, my dear!"

Mileena's face instantly transformed and revealed a beautiful smile.

"Now it's time!"

Mileena looked at her curiously. "Time for what?"

"It's time to pay your sister a visit."

She trilled excitedly, "Yay! I can't wait to show everybody my new face!"

A little while later, Mileena stood outside waiting.

Zareta walked out of the opened entryway of the hidden temple with Hijiri in her arms.

As soon as she stepped outside the entryway, it closed behind her.

She looked at Mileena expectantly. "We are ready, my dear. Go for it!"

Mileena nodded her head and turned around. She said the enchantment and motioned her arms, swirling.

A portal opened in front of her.

Mileena turned and looked at Zareta excitedly. "I did it!"

They enter through the portal and arrive by the stream.

Zareta turned to Mileena. "You must love this spot by the stream."

Mileena gave her a warm smile. "I do. It's so quiet and peaceful."

They walk on a trail leading to the monastery. One of the monks spots them approaching and calls out Kitana.

Shortly after, Kitana rushes out of the monastery with Jade by her side. Jade held Kitana's son.

Mileena couldn't help but laugh at their shocked expressions.

Kitana approached her and touched her cheek. "How did you..." She paused, still caressing her face, "It's like looking into a mirror."

Mileena giggled, "I still have my teeth." Then, she revealed her Tarkatan teeth. Kitana and Jade watched in fascination.

"I think I prefer the teeth." Jade said sarcastically.

Mileena laughed at her, and a high-pitched squeal from Kitana's son caught her attention. She approached closer to him.

"And this must be my nephew!"

"Yes," Kitana said, "His name is Zhen."

Mileena held her hands in front of him, but he looked at her hesitantly.

Oh, right!

She quickly changed her face and hid her Tarkatan teeth. Then, she held out her hands again, and he immediately leaned forward and reached for her. Jade handed him over to Mileena.

"You're so handsome. Just like your father."

He responded by smiling and cooing at her.

Kitana then approached Hijiri in Zareta's arms. "I have yet to meet my nephew."

Zareta smiled, "His name is Hijiri."

She handed him to Kitana. He curiously gazed at Kitana. She noticed his eyes held a slight glow.

Kitana gave him a warm smile. "He has his father's eyes."

She turned and approached Mileena.

"Zhen," Kitana called to her son, and he looked at her, "I want you to meet your cousin Hijiri."

They watched as both toddlers looked at each other curiously.

"They don't know each other yet, but in time they will be like brothers." Zareta said.

That night, after Mileena and Hijiri got settled, Zareta met with Mileena outside and revealed her true intentions for bringing them to the monastery.

"There is something I need to take care of before I can continue your training."

Mileena lifted a brow. "Okay. What do you need to take care of?"

"I promise I will tell you when the time is right."

Mileena curiously asked, "Does this have something to do with Earthrealm's invasion?"

"No! This is something I need to do before it's too late."

Mileena wanted to bombard her with questions, but she knew not to do so. Instead, she faintly sulked and said casually, "Well, good luck with that."

Zareta gave her a warm smile. "Don't worry. Your family will be complete soon."

Mileena gazed at her uncertainly and responded, "Okay."

She watched Zareta turn away from her and leave the monastery.

Shortly after, Kitana approached Mileena and asked, "Where is Zareta?"

"She left."

"Did she say where she was going?"

Mileena sighed, "No. She said she needed to take care of something before it's too late. She wouldn't tell me why."

Kitana gave her a concerned look. "Well, I hope that whatever she's doing, she returns back safely."

They retired for the night.

Mileena and Hijiri spend another week at the monastery. She especially enjoyed fooling her nephew Zhen, who couldn't tell her apart from his mother. But, strangely, her son Hijiri knew how to distinguish her from Kitana.

She also noticed how much quieter he was than his cousin Zhen.

Zareta pointed out before that Hijiri would suffer from night terrors of his death from his previous life. But she had also reassured her that in time he would grow out of it and become better at controlling his emotions.

Mileena didn't quite understand it, but she trusted Zareta's words as she did predict the gender of her child and also found out that he had a previous life as Scorpion's first-born son.

One day, the sisters gathered outside by the garden where Mileena practiced using Kitana's fans while Jade was left in the monastery to watch Zhen and Hijiri.

Mileena threw the first fan at the wooden dummy, but she missed it.

"Damn!"

"You have to move more gracefully." Kitana said.

Mileena threw the second fan and barely nicked it.

"Shit!"

Kitana retrieved the fans and approached Mileena. "Here, let me help."

She helped Mileena fix her stance and then took a step back. "Now try it again with both fans, but this time use less power."

Mileena lifted a brow at her but did as she was told. She threw the fans and watched them chop off the dummy's head.

"I did it!" She shouted excitedly.

Kitana grinned at her. "Now you know how to use my fans."

One of the monks approached Kitana. "Kitana! Liu Kang and the others have returned!"

"They've arrived!" Kitana said and followed the monk.

"What?" Mileena rushed after them. "Wait!"

They reach the entrance of the White Lotus temple. Kitana rushed over to Liu Kang and embraced him.

Mileena approached but stopped dead in her tracks when she noticed Scorpion without his mask. His eyes were no longer white voids and filled with chocolate-colored irises. He appeared like an ordinary man. She didn't recognize him.

He noticed her change in appearance. She no longer bared her Tarkatan teeth and now appeared identical to her sister. He approached Mileena.

She stepped back when he got close, sensing an entirely different aura about him.

"Scorpion?"

He shook his head. "I am no longer Scorpion. I am Hanzo Hasashi."

Mileena noticed his voice was different. He sounded like an ordinary man. He no longer had the disembodied, demonic voice she was used to.

She began shaking her head and took a step back. "I don't understand!"

"Raiden freed me from Quan Chi's spell."

Mileena shifted her gaze, still trying to process all of this in her mind.

He approached closer and gently lifted her chin. She looked up at him with glazed eyes, tears threatening to flow down her face.

"It doesn't change the way I feel about you."

Mileena couldn't hold her tears back.

He embraced her and held her close to him. She wrapped her arms around him and cried into his chest.

Kitana and Liu Kang couldn't help but curiously gaze at them.

That night, Hanzo had stayed with Mileena and Hijiri.

Mileena held Hijiri in her arms and said to Hanzo, "He helped keep me company while you were gone."

Hanzo took Hijiri in his arms and gazed at him. Hijiri gazed back with a smile and rested his head on his father's shoulder. Hanzo held him close.

"Welcome back, my son." He said in a soothing voice.

Mileena watched Hanzo rock their son to sleep.

He's such a natural.

Hanzo gently placed Hijiri in the crib.

Mileena approached Hanzo. He placed his arms around her waist, bringing her closer to him.

"What will you do?" He asked. "Now that Shao Kahn and Sindel are dead."

Mileena shifted her gaze in deep thought and shrugged, "I don't know. I'm not sure if I want to return to Outworld."

"Not even to claim the throne?" He asked curiously.

Mileena shook her head. "No. I'll let the generals fight over it."

She leaned in closer to him. "Besides, I would rather stay here in Earthrealm with you and our son."

Hanzo smiled, "I'm glad to hear that."

He leaned in and kissed her on the lips. She wrapped her arms around his neck, feeling his familiar warmth.

She slightly pulled away. "I have something to tell you." She said with a hint of excitement in her voice.

"What is it?"

"I'm Zareta's apprentice."

He looked surprised, but he didn't say anything.

She saw the look on his face and giggled, "Don't worry! I haven't done anything dangerous yet!"

He chuckled and caressed her cheek, "I'm not worried."

"Zareta is also our son's new grandmother."

He slightly lifted a brow. "I'm not sure how I feel about that."

She chuckled, "It was her only condition. I had to accept it."

"You seem fond of Zareta."

"Zareta thinks of me as a daughter she never had. Shao Kahn and Sindel only saw me as Kitana's replacement. They are my false parents. I won't miss them!"

"I know. I made sure of that!"

Mileena gave him a questioning look. "What do you mean?"

"I showed Shao Kahn your clone's corpse and left her body in the lair. I'm sure the others will also believe you are dead."

She lifted a brow and wanted to question why he would do such a thing. But then she felt that maybe it was better this way.

She grinned at him. "Well, at least now I can have a better life with you and our son."

Hanzo plants a kiss on her lips. Mileena releases a soft moan and leans into the kiss, pressing her body against his. He responds by gently lifting her and placing her on the bed. The kiss intensifies, but they hear their son stir a little before they can go any further.

They stop and turn their heads to look in his direction.

He falls back asleep.

They turn their heads to look at each other.

"We'll continue this some other time." Hanzo said.

The next day, Mileena prepared to depart from the monastery with Hanzo.

Kitana enters her room as Mileena is still gathering her things. Mileena turns her attention to Kitana as she approaches her.

"Mileena, I wanted to give you something before you leave."

"What is it?"

Kitana pulled out a pair of her bladed fans and handed them to her. "I want you to have these."

Mileena gave her a shocked look and took the fans from her. "You want me to have these?"

"Yeah! I have plenty of other fans, but I wanted you to have these ones."

"I…" Mileena was at a loss for words. "I don't know what to say."

Kitana chuckled, "I saw how you admired them, but I never understood why Shao Kahn gave you a pair of Sais instead."

"He wanted us to be different and told me I was supposed to be the better version of you." Mileena eyed the pair of fans and continued, "But I only wanted us to be sisters."

"We are sisters now!"

Mileena gave her a warm smile and held the fan close to her chest. "Thanks for the gift!"

"You're welcome, sister!"

"There's something I want to give to you in return."

Kitana looked at her curiously and watched her dig through her stuff. Mileena pulled out one of her Sais and handed it to Kitana.

"This one is my favorite, but I want you to have it."

Kitana took the Sai from Mileena and held it close to her. "Thank you!"

After Mileena had gathered her things, she said her goodbyes to Kitana and the others. Then she met Hanzo outside, where he stood waiting with Hijiri in his arms.

"Are you ready?" He asked.

"I'm ready!"

Mileena followed him to the helicopter that was waiting for them.

They went back to his homeland of Japan.

Three years later, Hanzo stood by as he watched a sparring match between two disciples. Then, one of his other disciples suddenly rushed over to him.

"Grandmaster Hasashi!" He alerted him, "Your wife is in labor!"

Hanzo immediately stopped the match and followed his disciple.

By the time he reached the bedroom, Mileena had already given birth to their second child.

Zareta had helped deliver the baby, of course.

"Congratulations!" She said joyfully, "It's a girl!"

Mileena held their daughter in her arms.

"She's so beautiful!" She spoke softly.

Hanzo approached closer and placed an arm around Mileena while gazing at their little bundle of joy.

"She has your eyes." He spoke softly to Mileena. "What shall we call her?"

Mileena gazed at him inquisitively. "I'm not sure. What do you think we should call her?"

Hanzo gazed into his daughter's eyes. She stared back with Tarkatan eyes, revealing a glow of hellfire.

He didn't hesitate and replied, "Mika!"

"Mika?" Mileena smiled, "I like that name."

She gazed back at their daughter. "Mika! Welcome, my daughter!"

BTW, I really enjoyed Mortal Kombat Battle of the Realms movie! I felt that the story should have gone in that direction. Because otherwise, the story of the games clearly showed that the Elder Gods and the One Being do not matter when they really should! That's just my opinion.

How do you feel about the story? (Not just mine, but the story in the games.)

Also, this is not the last chapter!
