"No what do you mean no?" Harry asked
Devon shook his head "just that no. There's no need for me to teach the group." He said
Ron looked up
"But why?" Ron asked
"Devon turned to him because you already have a charismatic leader. Someone you trust far more than me." He said
The four of them looked to each other
Devon grabbed Harry by the shoulder. "Your by far a better leader than I can be, as a Druid can act as an advisor but I cannot lead." He said
The train blew its horn signaling they were approaching the station
Devon looked at them. "You better get changed, we will be there soon." He said as he left the carriage
When he did he saw another student someone who he didn't originally pay attention to at the beginning due to his more quiet nature. But here he was far from that
"Leave her alone, Malfoy!" Neville said
Malfoy scoffed "Ohh lookie lookie little baby Neville is standing up for himself. To bad he's doing it to protect wimpy kids. What are you going to do Make them make paper strips?" Malfoy asked
His goons laughed "maybe he'll be worse and use them as meat shields?" A female said
Neville drew his wand and stuck it up Malfoy's chin his face ready to kill.
"Dare…" he growled
The Slytheryn student were stunned and they slowly were forced to back off.
"Oh and miss… I know you're not at all a part of Mallory's group. You're too young, get away from him as soon as possible. You will have a better life because of it."
The Slytheryn girl hissed
"Go back to your Scarlet Witch Longbottom." She yelled
"Her name is Luna lovegood and she is five times the Women you will ever be." Neville said
Devon stepped forward from the shadows
"That was good Mr longbottom." Devon said
Neville turned
"Mr Oakland. I umm." Neville stuttered
Devon waved his hand. "Relax, I'm not here as a professor, I'm here as a friend. You've stood up for the right thing today Neville." He said
Neville scratched the back of his head "yeah I um might have snuck a few looks at Harry and Ron when they were training." He said
Devon smiled
"Very well. And Ms Lovegood. Quiet a wonderful name." Devon smiled
Luna smiled "Ah you're the one Ginny keeps talking about. I was originally shocked when I didn't see any. Stoe-flies flying around you. But I can tell your not like any other wizards. I'm surprised you can even preform magic." She said
"Magic by Stoe-flies isn't the only way a person can gain magickal ability." Devon said
Luna blinked.
"Is that so…fascinating." She said
Devon smiled. "Actually if you would come with me?" He said
Devon led the two to Harry's carriage. And knocked on the door
" Excuse me Harry I'm sorry to bother you but think I found your first Allies for the group." Devon said
"Luna?" Ginny asked
(Harry's Pov)
Harry sat in the carriage distraught that Devon wouldn't lead the group. Even though he did give a good explanation as to why Harry just felt inadequate to truly lead the group.
However Devon believed in him so he had to do his best.
Harry sighed as Devon left as they got changed.
"Hermione, tell me what you got so far." Harry said
"Well I have a bit of a good plan. Basically to keep it on the downlow we can post it as a full wide school inter house Defense against the Dark Arts. Extra studies session." Hermione said
Ron nodded "yeah that makes sense. After all we had some pretty bad Professors over the years. So it makes sense that we try to cram extra material in the year."
Harry nodded "yeah ok. So in that case who would teach it. I'm pretty sure Devon won't because he didn't want to lead it so who can we trust and choose."
Hermione, Ron and Ginny looked at each other
"Harry I think that answer is obvious…you." Hermione said
"Wait what?" Harry asked standing up but Ginny grabbed his arm.
"Love listen and hear us out." Ginny said
Harry sighed And nodded
"Look Harry, in the first year you took to Devon's training like a fish to water. And after that you helped us get it." Hermione said
"Yeah I mean I'll admit I was completely rubbish with it until you helped me. If you hadn't I'd probably never have gotten it." Ron said
"Same with me." Hermione said
Harry looked to Ginny who shrugged
"We basically share the same mind." Ginny said
Harry sighed "but I mean I don't know everything. How am I supposed to teach people that might be in higher years than us?" Harry asked
"Harry, you've mastered a corporeal Patronus at 13. There are wizards who never master it not only that you've taught us to as well." Hermione said
Harry groaned he knew he was losing the argument. But he had to tell them he was just not cut out for it.
Suddenly the door opened
"Excuse me Harry I'm sorry to bother you but think I found your first Allies for the group." Devon said
"Luna?" Ginny asked shocked
Devon smiled as they hopped into the car and began talking.
Finally the train arrived at the Hogsmeade station and the students headed to the Great hall and arrived a few moments later.
And Albus Dumbledore gives a few announcements before the feast starts after the sorting has been done.
"First I'd like to announce that we will not be having a Quidditch cup this year." He said
The entire hall was in uproar
"Your joking!" Fred and George said
"No Mr Weasley's I am not." Albus said
"In a turn of events Hogwarts as it happens is playing host to a special event."
Suddenly the door to the hall barged open
"Ah, the other major announcement. Students I present you the new DADA professor." Albus said
"Alastor moody." Albus said
Suddenly there was talk in the hall about Moody. Before Albus spoke again.
Now the events that Hogwarts is presenting is none other than the legendary. Triwizard tournament." Dumbledore said
"Woah!" The twins gasped
As Dumbledore explained the tournament the 1,000 galleon prize. And the fact that only 7th years can enter. As well as the ministry's involvement in the event. And that it will start on halloween."
Harry and the group headed to the dorm and went off to bed.
With Harry saying they will talk about the extra lesion group tomorrow before classes.
The next day Harry met Ron, Ginny and Hermione in the common room, Neville Luna, and Devon joined them.
"So the idea is to get a study group to allow us to get ready to prepare ourselves in case we have to fight." Neville said
Harry nodded "yeah, there was an attack at the World Cup and death eaters were there. Which means they may be preparing for a new war." Harry said
Neville nodded "so what do we need?" He asked
Hermione stepped forward "basically Bodies and a teacher to supervise us." Hermione said
"But I thought you were trying to be stealthy." Neville said
"We are. We don't want the teachers to think anything is off so we will give them some stuff but not all of it." Harry said
Neville nodded "ok I'll spread the world around to get people." He said
Luna nodded "I will do the same in Ravenclaw." She said
"Now we need to find someone in Hufflepuff." Harry said
"I'm pretty sure we can talk to Cedric about it and he can figure something out." Ginny said
Harry nodded "yeah I'll try to find him in the hallway and speak to him. Devon I know you don't want to lead it but I'd like for you to be the advisor for "the war staff." Harry said
Devon looked confused. "War staff?" Devon asked
Harry looked at Devon "we're young but not stupid Devon. The death eaters. We're making this to fight." Harry said
Devon sighed "Albus wouldn't want you to do that Harry." Devon said
"Fuck! Dumbledore!" Harry stood up "you've never been one to decide what I had to do baised on Dumbledore's opinion before? So why the change of heart!" Harry yelled
Devon raised his hand
"Harry…it's not that I agree with Dumbledore or not. It's the fact that I don't want us to abandon an ally before we need to." Devon said
"The plan isn't for Dumbledore to be aware of us until we are ready. So I don't want you to convince him about the war effort but the Public face." Harry said
Devon nodded "smoke and mirrors." He said
Harry nodded before he shrugged
"Well kinda…it's a way for students to learn self defense in a way but secretly like In untold classes later we will inform them of tactics to face death eaters." Harry said
"Are you sure that's safe?" Devon asked
"I will not have people I care about die on me." Harry said
Devon nodded "very well I'll give this publicly to Dumbledore as well as give a piece of paper to Professor Moody. He might make a good public Teacher advisor." Devon said
Harry nodded
Devon left and hidden on his face was a smile
'Checkmate Dumbledore.'
Harry and The others went off to classes and Harry had a run in with Draco but Mad-Eye turned him into a Ferret. As Moody was bouncing him up and down Harry caught a look at Cedric and walked off.
Harry knocked into Cedric making him spill his books which Harry went to help him pick them up he slid a piece of paper into one of his books
Cedric looked at it seeing the action with his seeker vision and looked at Harry who just winked and stood up
"So sorry about bumping into you Cedric I'm sorry I got to get to class." Harry said as he ran off
Down the hall Hermione and Ron watched the entire thing with Harry bumping into Cedric.
"Think he did it?" Ron asked her
"I don't know, here he comes now." Hermione said
Harry caught up with them and looked
"Well?" Ron asked
"Success." Harry said
Ron nodded
Hermione looked at the two "I'll check out books about Defense against the dark arts and dueling. And make notes we can follow for the club." Hermione said
Harry nodded "also see if you can't get a conversation with the House elves in the kitchen perhaps they can come as a guest speakers to talk about there magick more." Harry said
Hermione smiled "that's a great idea Harry oh I knew you would be a great pick." She said as she ran off before she turned around "and I can work on .W." She said
Harry and Ron looked at each other "what?" They asked
"Oh I'll tell you later!" She said as she ran off
Ron shook his head "everytime I think I have her solved she throws me for a loop." He said
"Oh you've started to notice Hermione huh?" Harry teased
Ron looked confused.
"Huh? Harry, did you hit your head when you bumped into Cedric?" He asked as he walked off Leaving Harry alone as he slumped down
"There hopeless." He said
'Don't worry love it will take time but it will happen we have till yule.' Ginny said in his mind
'Huh why yule?' Harry asked
'Oh shoot shouldn't have said that…though that? What the fuck?!' Ginny asked
Harry chuckled as he headed off to his first class.
As Devon left Alastor Moody's office Devon was unnerved but he couldn't put his finger on as to why.
Sure moody agreed to help supervise the defense Group. But it's just something.
Devon shrugged now he just needed Albus to sign off on it.
It was far easier than Devon expected.
Heck he didn't even finish opening the door and Albus just said
"Yes Devon I think the Defense group would be a wonderful idea."
Devon shook his head "I'd love to know how you do that." He said
Albus's eyes twinkled and he winked "let your headmaster have just a few secrets on you."
Devon rolled his eyes and left his job done
Albus's smile dropped as he had been thinking about the upcoming war with Voldemort. The talk with Devon at 12 Grimmauld place had definitely made him see stuff differently.
'Should I prepare the order in case for emergency?' 'What if other death eaters show up.' We're tuning through his mind
Devon however was more on top of things.
That night he penned a letter to Sirius black as well as another one for Remus Lupin.
"I'm asking for your help. Harry has taken up the mantle of the war effort. But we need eyes and ears. Sirius, can you please keep an eye on the ministry. Also pen people who would stand up for Harry if blows came to blows against Dumbledore. We can start the ride if Harry Potter.
Rimus for you I have an even more important task. Seeing as your not working you are perfect for this.
I want you to make an expansion of the Marauders map that encompasses the entire British ideals or at least for now the lower half of England. Which we can use to track Death Eaters and movement."

Devon sent it off with hedwig with Harry's permission.
Things were sizing up to be an important year behind the scenes of the war. As Devon went off to bed
On the way Devon and Harry met up
"Sirius gave me this mirror but I don't know what it does." Harry said
"I just penned him a letter when Hedwig returns you can write to him." Devon said
Harry nodded
"Oh I spoke to Cedric he's gotten a few Hufflepuff's in all we need is a room to meet and a time." Harry said as the two headed towards the beds
"How about for public meetings we will meet in the room where we first found the Mirror of Erised. Before dinner. And the secret meetings same place but Saturday nights." Devon said
Harry nodded "that's works." Harry said
"When is the first meeting?" Devon asked
"Tomorrow Dumbledore said he is going to announce our club tomorrow at breakfast." Harry said
Devon nodded "they won't know what hit them." Devon grinned
"Voldemort or Dumbledore." Harry said as they shook hands.
The next day indeed Dumbledore announced the new Extra defense course. With an excellent announcement. And preplanned message to hide the true meaning of the group
"If I can have your attention please." Albus said as he stood up the hall was silent
"I am aware that in the past years we've had a mixed bag of professors teaching the Defense against the Dark arts. Leading to a mess of teaching styles and even worse grades to suffer in that field for the first time in a while." Albus said
The students talked to each other
Albus raised his hands "however! There is hope! Especially those who are about to leave Hogwarts. A new club has been announced. 'The Defense against the Dark Arts Cram club!' Any student looking for extra help In defense against the Dark arts. Will go to room 104 on the first floor west corridor to meet with the club organizers. And staff members to help them get a better grasp on the subject. Their inaugural meeting will occur tonight."
Albus sat down as Harry Ron and Hermione looked and smiled at each other.
After breakfast the four went to the Darks Arts room and Moody gave the lesson on the unforgivable courses and put several people under the curse. However Harry was shockingly able to shake it off. And Devon wasn't effected at all.
"Remarkable, simply remarkable." Moody said
When the class ended Mad eye gave the same announcement of the Defense Against the dark arts Cram club. And that he would be there as the students left. Moody talked to Harry about being able to throw off the Imperius Curse and gave him the lessons about throwing it off better which Harry accepted with the exception that he also teach the Cram Club.
Moody nodded at this and bid Harry adeu.
That night Harry, Ron, Hermione, Ginny, Neville, Luna stood in the room with Devon and Professor Moody
"I hope this isn't everyone you plan on me teaching boy." Moody said
"It isn't." A voice behind him said as Cedric Diggery arrived with a contingent of 20 or so Hufflepuff students.
Moody was shocked "that's A lot of students." He said
"There's more." Another voice said as Cho-Chang arrived.
Moody was shocked
"Well…" he said
"But don't forget us!" Fred and George said as they arrived with half of the Gryffindor students.
Moody looked around not wanting to be startled again
"No Slytheryn huh? Very well." He said as he turned around
Only for the door to be kicked in
"Only if you expect the scars to get worse Mad- Eye…" Severus Snape said as he stood over his students. Harry recognized a few more Slytheryn faces.
Moody nodded as Harry Stepped up
"Do you trust them?" He asked
Snape looked at Harry with a tilted head
"What sort of question is that-?"
"Do you. Trust them." Ginny asked stepping up with Harry.
Snape looked between them before giving a grin
"With my life." He said
Harry nodded as Moody stepped away.
"Excuse me, I need to rethink my lesson plan for tonight."
As he left Harry looked over at everyone.
"Alright I have a question. Of everyone here. Who is a second year or below." Harry said
No one raised there hands.
Harry turned to Hermione
"Write down an 100% in Combatant." Harry said
Snape tilted his head "combatant Potter? What are you planning?" He asked
Harry smiled "you'll see." As he stepped forward
"Listen up!" Harry snapped which brought everyone's attention.
"I know all of you know what happened at the World Cup! I know you're all thinking the same thing I am. 'Why after so long are there still death-eaters Terrorist's running around our world causing havoc. Why won't the ministry do something?' The answer is because they are cowards! Prunes! And most of all afraid. There afraid of the power they face and would simply keel
over at the first sign of actual conflict." Harry said
"Well I won't stand for it!" He snapped
"My parents died in that last war and I won't let their sacrifice be in vain to protect me and the world they cherished!"
"But I can't do it alone! I need help! I need those who would stand with me, fight with me even if it ment breaking the law. I need people who can fight. Who won't cower in danger. And will decide the world they live in is worth fighting for!" Harry yelled
The students cheered
"This group is that group! In the time of need I may call upon you to take up arms against Voldemort! And his death eaters. But you won't go in alone, that's the real reason we are here. It's our world and we choose to fight." Harry said
Hermione stepped forward
"There will be another meeting Saturday night here. After dinner and after curfew. That is where we will teach you what you really need to survive the war."
"The cram club is for all students but those who really want to do something. Your time is Saturday. And be careful who you share this information too. If this information gets out it could cause the fall of this group." Harry said
The students nodded
Cedric stepped forward "well Harry I stand with you." He said
"As do I." Cho Chang said
"And us!" Fred and George said
"As well as us!" The Slytheryn students said
Harry nodded
"This prep talk never happened. I'll see you on Saturday." Harry said
"It just so happens potter I will be guarding this exact corridor during Saturday's curfew." Snape said with a wink.
Harry nodded as moody came back in
"Damn boy when you make a speech about a cram club you don't kid around. Alright listen up!" Moody snapped
"We've got a lot to cover here and a short time to do it. Tell me how many of you know at least one protective spell," moody asked no hands
"One counter curse?" He asked hopeful again none
"A shield charm?" He asked hands were raised and moody picked out a student
"Can you do it?" He asked
He nodded "I can but not well." He said
"Then you can't!" Argh you're worse than first years. Alright we've got a game plan. Let's get ready, line up!" Moody said
The first meeting of the cram club went well with everyone leaving more confident about their Defense against the Dark arts abilities and very hopeful with the next lesson's.
That Saturday the real lesion began after curfew Harry walked down the hall with his cloak on making sure finch wasn't on his tail he looked at the map. No he's on the other side of the castle good.
And Snape was just a few hallways down.
Harry made his way there and as he turned the corner he threw the cloak off as Snape strode forward
"There all inside Potter." He said
"Thank you professor. After I'm inside, muffle the door please." Harry said
Snape nodded " when your ready to get everyone back to there rooms leave the door ajar an. I'll come in to lead everyone back." Snape said
Harry nodded and walked through the door
Snape shook his head "that boy will change the world." He said as he drew his wand across the wood and strode down the hall.
Inside Harry looked at everyone.
"This everyone from two days ago right?" Harry asked
Hermione nodded
Harry smiled
"Listen up before I was serious about the secrecy of the club's true motives as such there is a form that you must sign to continue the club especially in these classes. If you find someone who you think is a good fit for this have them join the public meetings first from there Hermione, Ron and I will consider them. You are not to inform them of anything happening until they are approved from all three of us. Is that understood?" Harry asked
Everyone looked at each other then they nodded
Harry smiled "good ok then first one wanna out there name on the list. There's an magical contract that will prevent you from telling anyone About the secrets meeting Involuntary." Harry said
Harry watched as the Weasley twins stepped forward. Then Cedric came behind them as everyone formed a line.
Once everyone signed it Harry looked to Devon who casted Revelio to find if anyone in the room had not signed the paper.
No one had tried to skimp.
Devon nodded
"Alright let's begin! Now the first thing. tells me in combat what is the most important thing you need." Harry said
Someone raised there hand
"Your wand." A Hufflepuff said
"No." Harry said as he looked around
"It's wit. And control. In combat your most likely running off of adrenaline. Your body thinks, reacts, and processes things quicker. But in doing so it can skip on details, details that can cost you your life. Tell me how many people noticed who was up here before I walked in?" Harry said
Several people raised there hands
"There were three. Ginny and Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger." She said
"And where are they now?" Harry asked
Everyone looked around the room and noticed they couldn't find them.
"This is important! Keep track of your opponent. You've just been lead into an ambush! Defend yourself! The last person standing will be able to skip out of the next activity we do and trust me you will want to." Harry said
"Wait…who are we fighting against?" a Slytheryn asked
Harry smiled
"Us…" Harry said as he vanished under a disillusionment charm.
There was panic as the group looked around
Suddenly one of the students fell down stunned
Cedric scanned everything "keep on guard watch for movement." He said
"Movement won't help you! But magic will." Harry said his voice echoing around the room.
" all of you, feel that urge. That gut instinct inside you. Pulling at you. Trust it. Let it power you. Let it guide you to action." Harry said
There was a blast of magick from behind the group
Cedric looked back and snapped
"Down!"
Everyone followed as the spell flew over everyone. Suddenly more spells flew faster
"Don't think, react." Harry said
"Don't trust, believe." Ron said
"And don't fight, Win." Hermione said
Devon watched as they ran through the activity. Until one man was standing and that was Cedric Digory.
Harry, Ron and Hermione reappeared "that was quite well you all lasted far longer than I had expected. If we had a dueling tournament I'm pretty sure most of you would at least be able to move onto the second round of you could learn to counter attack. Harry said as he waved his wand as did Ron and Hermione and everyone became unstunned.
Cedric panted
"W-what the hell was that?" He asked
"That is what we will be teaching you eventually." Let it be known aside from a few 7th years we are not going to teach you actual dueling techniques. Because if you came across a death eater in your life, right now you would die. They are ruthless, cunning and not afraid to play dirty. So in order to defeat them you have to be even dirtier." Harry said
"However we will not leave you alone, we will teach you spells. And techniques that you can use to defend yourself but first you all need stamina." Ron said
Harry nodded "that's right, you're all exhausted. So we will take a five minute break and after that we get to the next activity which will you running around the room for 15 laps." He said
Everyone groaned
"Enough!" Harry snapped
"Physical activity is important and we Wizards underestimate it because we are powered off of magick. But you can be so much more than you are now if you exercise." Harry said
Ron looked at Hermione "does he want us to join him?" He asked
Hermione shrugged she had no idea this was new to her.
"I see many of you have your doubts let me show you
"How many people here know the way to discover the strength of one's magical core?" He asked
They answered with the spell it which casts a wisp of magick in the color of how strong your core is.
Does anyone know the strongest recorded core color was in the last 50 years?" Harry asked
No one answered.
"The core was the color silver. It belonged to Tom Riddle. Who would eventually become Voldemort."
I'll tell you this as well. Last year my magical core color was Green about average for a student of age and skill. However after a year of exercise my new color."
Harry casted the spell and a bright white ball like a lumos filled the air at the top of his wand.
"No I did not cast it wrong, this is not a lumos charm. This is my Core strength. Bright white. Does anyone remember where that falls in the spectrum." Harry asked
Cedric answered
"That's…that's just below silver. But that's impossible…how does your magical core expand that much?" Cedric asked
Harry looked around with eyes of steel
"Listen to me and listen to me well. Magic and your magickal core are a muscle. The more you use it the better it grown but taking care of your bodies also helps. This is only a year of training. And I plan to do much more. And you will to in this. By the time your done your will see you can cast spells faster. Stronger. And see overall more powerful that you expected." Harry said
"But that…that's impossible how can you gain that much power in such a short span of time." Cedric said
"It is possible if you push yourself! Heck Ginny here can be a better example if I can't convince you. She started just this summer. On average her core color should be a dark brown or maroon." Harry said as he looked to Ginny
"If you could love." Ginny nodded and casted the spell
It was a light red nearly pink in color.
Everyone gasped.
"But how!" Hermione asked
Ginny looked over "it's just as harry said…exercise." She said Harry nodded
"Right now I want all of you to do 15 laps around the edge of the classroom." Harry said
Everyone groaned but Harry snapped back
"Hey I said we were going to work! Not have fun you may hate me by the end of this but you will thank me later. I'd rather have you live hating me than dead respecting me." Harry snapped
That shut up the groaners as they ran
Ron and Hermione looked at each other and Hermione was about to ask but Ginny stepped up
"Harry should I run too?" She asked
Harry looked back
"It's up to you Ginny. Same to you Ron, Hermione, Neville, Luna….wait where are Neville and Luna?" Harry said as he looked and saw Neville leading the pack of runners. Devon nodding.
Harry smiled as he looked back to see Ginny, Ron and Hermione had fallen in line.
Once they were finished everyone was laying on the floor panting gasping except for Ginny who was stretching.
Harry sighed these people were terrible granted he wasn't the best shape when he started but he expected a few people to be standing.
Fred and George seemed to be the best as they weren't really sitting but more of wall sits. And Cedric was trying to climb up.
Harry sighed
"Alright everyone seeing as your all about to collapse I'm going to give you a break but I'll give you a homework assignment to do for next class. If we do." Harry said
Everyone sighed and relaxed where as Ginny, Devon Ron and Hermione looked troubled.
"Devon would you mind coming forward and giving an example." Harry asked
Devon sighed "I assume of combat?" He asked
Harry nodded
"Gin if your able to mind casting a shield?" Harry asked
Gin nodded and waved her hand and cast a shield that engulfed half the room separating Harry and Devon from the other's,
"Hey you didn't speak to cast that." A student said
Ginny shrugged "I didn't have to its pagan magick." She said
Everyone gasped
"We can get into the fields of magick later. I want everyone to watch now." Harry called
Devon pointed his staff at Harry "how much do you want me to hold back?" Devon asked
"Don't endanger the class but don't hold back either." He said
Devon nodded as he clutched his staff in two hands
He then dragged his staff across the ground making chunks of stone chip off and fly towards Harry like whizzing bullets
Everyone gasped as Harry jumped and spun around dodging the chunks easily while still able to aim his wand at Devon
Everyone who knew how difficult that action was so every 5th year and up gasped as Harry without even stoping to stay at rest blasted Devon with a disarming spell.
Devon rolled under the spellfire and and smacked the ground with his staff like a two handed strike and the ground began to shoot up like a spike towards Harry's chest
"HARRY!" Hermione screamed before she looked around and noticed Ginny looked unafraid.
Hermione watched as Harry got skewered…
Only for his body to go through mitosis and appear standing there and blast devon again. With a spell
However this time devon shattered like glass which rippled. Across the shield in a spiderweb pattern before it shattered layering the room like glass.
Harry stepped out looking around for Devon.
Ron and Hermione looked to each other and noticed the other slowly reaching for there wands they nodded to each other and at the same time jumped up and yelled
"Stupify!"
Harry was able to warp his body around to parry one spell Ron's however he was unable to parry the second.
He however was thankfully saved by Ginny who Accio'd a big glass shard in front of Hermione's to reflect it back at her.
Hermione was sent blasting towards the crowd as Cedric jumped up and caught her holding her in his arms he leveled his wand at Harry
"Bombarta!" He yelled angry Harry would put his firend in danger.
Harry parried it easily as the rest of the class stood up and began to barrage Harry with Stunning spells
Harry waved his wand around and gathered the shards of glass around him and started to spin around him reflecting all the spells back or making them bounce off.
Harry snapped a look back and rolled under a green spell with Tendrils as it hit Cedric and he was sent in the air tangled in vines.
Fred and George used the cutting curse to get him down safely. As Hermione woke up and blasted Harry again
Harry parried Hermione's spell as he dodged Devon's Vines. While he snapped a look to see Ginny fighting Ron.
Harry jumped to get a quick look at everyone to see all of them ready for action and some in the process of spell casting.
Harry smiled at Devon "thanks for the demonstration devon.
And suddenly it all went away.
Ginny and Ron were still fighting but Harry the Vines. The glass everything else was gone Only Ginny and Ron were slinging spells but both were smiling.
Finally they got into a spell lock
"You're pretty good Ginny." He said
"Yeah good enough to kick your ass." She said
Ron smiled and said "almost!" And he vanished
Ginny's spell stopped being locked as she looked around for her brother unaware she was standing under the lights
Ron was on top and used the cutting cures to make it drop
Ginny snapped a look up just in time to backflip and jump out of the way. Making it break and shatter.
Harry looked at everyone else "why are all of you looking awestruck Start sparing find a partner!" He said
Suddenly the other members started to find a partner and began to rudimentary spar with each other as The others walked around correcting forms.
After about 10 minutes or until Ron had suddenly tied up Ginny. Harry noticed Ron had left something out.
"Oh Ron?" Harry asked
Ron looked at Harry
"Yeah mate?" He asked
Harry pointed down where Ron followed to see a snare around his foot.
"Oh bollocks." He sighed as snare triggered leaving them both hanging.
Harry started to clap as did everyone else soon after
"We'll call that a draw for now. Good show to both of you. Now everyone can you tell me how it felt to cast spells before and after the run?" Harry asked
Everyone nodded
"Alright it seems like we're out of time so I'm going to break up the class and inform Professor Snape we're ready to go. Ginny can you get the door." Harry said
"Before we break let me remind you don't talk about what happened this class if you want someone to join in the club have them come to the pre-dinner meetings first, in order to keep secrecy our meetings here will not be regular here. The only way to know is to be informed with your house Leader. For Ravenclaw that's Luna Lovegood.
Slytheryn that's Professor Snape.
For Hufflepuff it's Cedric Diggory
And I will be in charge of spreading the word for Gryffindor. However Ron, Hermione, Ginny and Neville will be in charge of spreading the information around.
Now for your homework. It's simple. We can't broadcast ourselves by going for morning runs but we will have to supplement. The rest of the week until we meet again next week at the same time. I want everyone to be running to class. I don't care how you do it but get that exercise and also have an excuse if you're caught by the teacher." Harry said
Everyone nodded as Ginny unlatched the door and everyone went quiet.
Harry looked over as Snape entered
"You ready?" He asked
Harry nodded "yep same time next week." Harry said
Snape nodded "all Slytheryn students follow me it's time I show you a secret passageway to quickly get to the dungeon's." He said as he lead the Slytheryn students off
Cedric lead the Hufflepuff students off
Luna followed the Ravenclaws off
And Harry with the help of Devon casting disillusionment charms lead the Gryffindor students off.
All in all Harry was quite happy about the first meeting.
He however was unaware that Flawks was watching from the raptures of the hall and after it was clear he flew off to Dumbledore's office.
Dumbledore sat in his chair in his office as Flawks arrived and squawked to him
"Hmmm I see so it seems Harry is following in the steps of young Tom riddle after all." He said
His Phoenix screeched again making Dumbledore turn
"You agree with him?" He asked
He nodded
Dumbledore closed his eyes. "But he's not yet ready."
The bird screeched again in disagreement.
"Dumbledore sighed "fine I'll trust you I'll confront Harry next week. And face him if he can stand up I'll believe he's ready to fight. His little brotherhood however. That I need to stop. I won't allow him to endanger the lives of the other students at this school."
Flawks squawked again
"What do you mean they agreed to it?" Albus asked
Another chirp
"Really is that so? Still I can't allow it." He said
Flawks screeched again and flamed off
Albus sighed "Flawks always has a mind of his own… wait where did the sorting hat go?" He asked
Harry retuned to the dorm with his dorm mates and sighed until Harry realized Flawks was in his bed
"Shit do you think?" Ron asked
Harry looked at Ron and shrugged "it doesn't matter." He said as he opened the curtains of his bed to find the sorting hat
"Ah Harry! Quickly, there isn't much time put me on." He said
"What happened?" He asked
"Oh hush this isn't for all ears to know it's about tonight and what happened." He said
Seamus stepped forward "we're all apart of the group and we don't regret it if you can say it to Harry you can say it to us." He said
Harry turned around and Seamus nodded as Harry turned back
The hat sighed "ugh fine. Albus knows about the meetings and the location he's planning on ambushing you next week during the meeting to break up the group."
Seamus rolled his eyes "he's gonna have to do a lot than that to break us up." He said
"It's more the point of the show of force. To let everyone know that he's aware of it more than anything else. He also is planning on Fighting Harry to decide if your capable enough." The hat said
Harry nodded "thank you for telling this. Flawks I assume seeing as your here you don't agree with Dumbledore with this decision."
The bird nodded
Harry stood back
"Ok you can go and bring the hat back I'll take care of it." He said
The Phoenix nodded and flamed away
Ron stepped forward "what are you going to do?" He asked
"Were moving the next meeting from next weekend to the week after that and we're moving it to Friday instead. Ron get word to Devon he might teach the next class as I don't want to go two weeks without a meet. Also have one of the Slytheryn to ask Snape to scout out for another room we can use. We might have to repeatedly change rooms to get Dumbledore off us if he keeps persisting." Harry said
Ron nodded and climbed into bed
Neville looked at Harry
"But what will you do Harry?" He asked
Harry smiled "spring the trap."

The several days Harry got up and went to classes soon enough it was near halloween that the delegates from the other schools will start to arrive.
That night was also supposed to be a Defense meeting but because of Dumbledore it was moved to the day after. Not that the inner circle of Ginny, Ron, Hermione, Neville, or Luna minded as they had offering cakes to put out. Harry had his already done so he would just perform the rite a bit later after he was done with Dumbledore.
That day classes were released early so the students could greet the other students coming to Hogwarts.
They all packed in front of the black Lake as the ship and flying carpet arrived and lead in the Veeila women
Everyone was all impressed by the magical transports they used. Especially the Ship the Durmstrang students used as everyone clapped and Ron pointed out Victor Krum with the Durmstrang students.
Harry looked over and noticed Hagrid was getting close with Madam Maxime. As they all were lead inside.
Finally the feast came and the Goblet of fire was revealed. Albus Dumbledore spoke praise of the ministry and the department of Games and sports. And how the tournament would be organized by the 5 judges. And the three tasks.
At the end of the feast it was time for the "official" defense Cram club meeting. There were no students today so they knew the material but they stayed focus
Harry stood next to Moody as moody was talking to the class about the different uses of "non combat" spells in duels
"Never underestimate magic is can and will be the death of you." He said
Suddenly the door opened and Albus stepped in
"Forgive the intrusion. I'd just like to speak to Mr Potter alone." He said
The club looked at each other they knew what this ment
Harry stepped forward
"What can I do for you, headmaster?" Harry asked
"Please come to my office." Albus said
He nodded and followed he looked to Devon and nodded as the two walked away.
In the headmaster's office Flawks screeched as he entered
Albus raised his hand "it's just to talk Flawks nothing more." He said
That calmed the phoenix down. As Harry sat in a chair.
"Do you know why I called you here?" Albus asked
Harry feigned innocence and shook his head.
Albus sighed "I'm here looking out for your safety Harry, I know your years here haven't been… the safest. But I'm doing all I can to make sure your doing the best." Albus said
Harry nodded
"However we can't go feigning that nothing is wrong. We both know that forces are on the move that can threaten the lives of many here at Hogwarts." Albus said
Harry nodded
Albus smiled "the Triwizard tournament would be a very good experience for you to see how the use of new spells can be used in action. I dare say I believe Professor Moody was just talking about that."
Harry nodded
Albus smiled "I'm just saying to be careful. And you don't have to rush into adult things before your fully ready to give up childhood." He said
Harry bowed
"Thank you for listening Harry, that is all." Albus said as Harry turned and left.
"Now we see if Mr Potter can enjoy his life while I help shoulder the burden." Albus said to himself.
When Harry returned to the meeting he found devon was teaching alone
"Where's Professor Moody?" Harry asked
Devon looked up "he said he had to go guard the goblet of fire." He said
Harry nodded "alright very well no meeting this weekend. But keep up your exercises." Harry said
In the common room Harry watched as Free and George tried to enter there names in the goblet and got rebuffed forcing them to grow mighty beards.
Harry relaxed feeling for the first time he had done some good and could relax and enjoy the games.
At the feast of the Champion choosing everyone was excited, everyone but Fred and George.
Finally Albus stepped forward to make the announcement to start the tournament.
"Welcome all to the Triwizard Tournament!" Albus said as everyone cheered
"We're about to pick the three champions." Albus said as the goblet lit up and a slit of paper flew out.
"The champion from Durmstrang is VICTOR KRUM!" He said
Every clapped as he ran up and Barty crouch senior ushered him to the other room. As the goblet lit up again.
"The champion for Beauxbatons is….FLEUR DELACOUR!
Albus clapped as Fleur was led to the adjacent room.
As he turned around the goblet lit up for the Hogwarts champion
"For Hogwarts! The champion will be…Cedric Diggory!" Albus said
Cedric popped up and the hall cheered as Cedric looked over to Harry and was happy to see him clapping.
Cedric smiled
When suddenly the Goblet flaired up again
"HARRY POTTER!" Albus yelled
"What!?" Devon shot up
Harry to shot up but one of concern.
"What did you do?" Cedric asked him whispered
Harry looked over "absolutely nothing." He said
Cedric nodded believing him after seeing Harry in the cram club he knew Harry wasn't a liar.
Both were escorted to the back room and Devon tried to follow but was stopped by the man by the door.
Madam Maxime stood up and wondered why Harry was there.
"Are they calling us back to the feast already?" She asked
"No, there has been a mixup." Cedric said
"Suddenly Albus and the other ministry officials stormed in as well as Devon
"Harry did you put your name in the goblet of fire?" He asked
Harry shook his head "no! I just wanted a calm year?"
"Wait a fourth champion?" Headmaster Karkaroff said
"There must be some mistake!" The Giant said
"Well I don't want in!" Harry said
Devon grabbed him "you don't have to Harry. I will be your replacement." Devon said
"No you can't! Harry Potter must compete or his magic will be stripped away, there is no way out of it."
"It could be someone is trying to kill him off." Moody said
Albus turned to Moody "please don't be dramatic."
Harry slapped his sides "it makes sense though it's been happening every other year!" Harry snapped
"Are you sure we can't get this fixed?" Madam Maxime said.
"There is no mistake. Besides, The goblet Has been extinguished. I present to you, your four champion's." Barty Couch said "the first task will be on November 24th. Be ready."
Every adult left leaving Cedric, Harry and Devon alone.
"Don't worry Harry we will get through this." He said
Cedric nodded "yeah I believe you I'll tell the Hufflepuff as well." He said
Harry nodded " change of plans I originally wanted us to not have a meeting tonight because of Dumbledore. But now we are. Devon get in contact with Snape and find us a room." Harry said
The three left and ate at the feast.
By some miracle everyone in the Cram club got the news of the emergency meeting. And arrived as Snape arrived before leaving for deniability.
Harry strode forward "now we all know the news. We were all at the feast this evening. So you know I was chosen by the Goblet of fire. As well as Cedric." Harry said as he raised his hand to Cedric and clapped
"However I don't feel like I'm the Hogwarts champion. That is all Cedric. However I'm going to try my best and do what I can to survive." Harry said
Everyone nodded
Cedric stepped forward "we all know you didn't put your name in the goblet. The Defense Association stands with you." He said
Harry stumbled back
"Defense Association?" He asked as he looked at Hermione and Ron
They shrugged "they voted." She said
Harry nodded "alright well, we're still doing a job so let's begin." Harry said
Suddenly the door opened and everyone turned around and Albus Dumbledore stepped in
"Ah hello Harry." He said
Harry stood ridged "Dumbledore."
"I must say I'm impressed by your resolve. When we last talked privately I told you not to worry about adult things when you can enjoy your childhood." He said
"That was before my name came out of the goblet of fire." Harry said
Albus sighed "yes I'm still trying to get to the bottom of how that happened." He said
"It's probably the same thing as every year. It's Voldemort plane and simple." He said
Albus looked around and noticed not one of the members winced at the mention of the name.
"You've trained them well."
"We've only had 1 major meeting so far. So even I'm astounded that they didn't react." Harry said
"Being able to push your students to new heights is a mark of a good teacher. That said while I respect you I will also say again I will not have anyone threaten my students. Even if they decide to join willingly. However I'm willing to compromise. If you can fight me and stand up to me I'll allow this group to keep going. And have my endorsement."
"So to be fair I can have these meetings. With all the illegal magicks." Harry said
"And the dueling techniques." Albus said "it's is after all why I let Devon teach Defense Classes after the other teachers had to go." Albus said as he drew his wand.
Harry noticed that his wand wasn't the same as his normal wand having a different pattern instead of the ridges and bulbs.
Harry drew his wand
"Everyone move to the sides." Harry said as he strode forward.
"I hope you know I don't plan on going easy." Harry said
Albus smiled "good. You will need it for the tournament and if you do well I might even appear in a few meetings to give advice on better dueling."
Harry smiled and suddenly he blasted a spell with a sharp thin line at Dumbledore
Albus casted a shield and the spell hit.
And suddenly the spell passed through it and the new spell had Tendrils wisping off
Albus was shocked as his shield failed before he was hit and suddenly he was wrapped up in vines and was hanging in the air.
Harry stepped forward. With a smile. "You think Voldemort would be able to block that?" Harry asked
"If you surprise him like you have me yes if not. We'll be prepared for a counter incoming.
Harry felt the pull of magic as he looked behind him and saw a torrent of fire flying towards Harry
Harry jumped away and the fire burned the vines freeing Dumbledore. Which he landed and dispersed the flames and wrapped around Harry trying to suffocate him he started to cough
Albus walked forward. "You need to be prepared for everything. Your enemy is trying to kill you. It's your job to survive." Albus said
"Oh he is." A voice said
Albus turned around and noticed Devon was leaning on the wall smug.
Dumbledore was unnerved, how could he be so calm.
Albus gasped and noticed Harry was gone.
"You should not underestimate him. He will shock you." Devon said
Albus nodded
"Yes clearly." Albus said
He kept up the fire clearly it's just an illusion to make Albus drop the fire so he can escape
Albus had to admit having control over one's magick while being suffocated is incredible. He almost regrets using his old wand for this fight…almost
After all. He wanted to give Harry a chance.
Albus spun around as a stray Spell flew over his shoulder and saw Harry standing behind him.
"Didn't want you too focused at the hall of flame and not on our duel." Harry quipped
Albus looked back and forth "how did?" He asked
Harry stepped forward and suddenly split into five copies of himself
Albus smiled "fascinating." He said as he raised his wand.
"I admit you've put more effort into this than I give you credit for. However it's time I show you why I'm the headmaster of this school." He said as he strode forward
"I'm not holding back anymore." He said and suddenly the walks started to shoot out towards Harry transfiguring into spikes and spears which flew towards Harry.
Everyone was expecting Harry to do what he did to Devon before and warp around the spears but Harry was more simple than that.
He just ducked
And cast Bombarta at Dumbledore's feet.
Albus went into the air flying from the explosion he twisted the wand around and made a cushion to catch him as he gently placed himself on the ground.
"You know Harry that was a good point for you to counter attack. I know your trying to be nice because I'm a teacher but you really don't have to." Albus said
Harry shrugged
"Oh I know Albus it's just that that was too easy of a giveaway." Harry said
Albus looked around and noticed an entire den of snakes by his feet.
Harry hissed and the snakes lunged
Albus was stunned the boy was using his Parseltongue in combat. Clearly he is using everything advantage he can.
Albus levitated the snakes and transformed them into the previous stoneworks and flung them at Harry
Harry dodged as Albus shot the disarming spell at Harry which shot the wand out of his hand
Albus looked smug
Before he noticed the wand fly over his shoulder
And into Harry's hand being him.
The boy summoned his wand wandlessly and silently.
And then Harry went on the offensive not caring for flashy spells
1,5,7, 9 spells barraged Dumbledore and his shield all of them bouncing off. But that's not what stunned him it was the fact that Harry kept going he knew that any one of those spells could flicker through his shield. So Harry was up to something.
Dumbledore was pushed off as Harry send a tether to Albus's leg and yanked him in the air and stunned Dumbledore. Ending the duel.
Harry revived Dumbledore and true to his word he sponsored the dueling club of Harry's.
He left giving a passing word to Harry about the tournament.
"Remember Harry be on your best the entire time." He said as he left.
