A/n this is where the series gets quiet M rated…you've been warned.( Aka there will be lemons)
Chapter start
There was panic at the ministry.
Amilea was walking to her new office with Kingsley and several interns this was the first time a cold blooded murder occurred on ministry.
It was worse that the murderer hand carved the dark mark on Fudges skin.
So it was clearly a declaration of war from Voldemort.
"Any news from the investigation?" Amelia asked
"None besides what we already knew or speculated." Kingsley said
As former undersecretary of Fudge I think Delorius should be questioned." She said
"Amelia please." Kingsley said stepping infront of the minister.
"You focus on running the war we will focus on the investigation." He said
Amelia sighed.
"I hope you have only the best working this case I want it done swiftly."
"Only that minister." Kingsley nodded
Suddenly Sirius black walked past them
"Forgive me. Kingsley." Sirius nodded and while trying to be professional failed to and looked over at Amelia who was smiling wryly
"Best man indeed." She said
Kingsley addressed Black "report."
Sirius slapped his sides "she chose the worst time to bigger off. She decided to use Her sick days as an extended vacation.
Kingsley and Amelia shared a look Umbridge never took sick days off more to the point she would yell at you if you were over an hour late.
"How long is this extended vacation set to last?" Amelia asked
Sirius looked at his notes
"By my calculations a year." He said
"A year?!" Amelia gasped before her face turned livid
"Ok it's official I want one of you to figure out what law she used to get this loophole and make sure no one can use it again. Kingsley transfers Fudges body to the DoM let them deal with Preserving it. Use what you can on fudge's investigation but don't come to any conclusion without Umbridge.
"Sirius…it's good to see you again." She said as professional as possible and strode away
Kingsley leaned towards black.
"Go get her tiger…"
Sirius slapped him "that's the boss. I'd be fired if I tried." He said as he looked at Amelia walking away
"She does have a nice ass though." Sirius said
Down the hall Amelia turned around and winked at Sirius before she turned the corner.
"You were saying?" Kingsley asked
"I Um…I have a few papers to check out- I mean- at my office, excuse me." He said as he walked away with a slight limp trying to hide something on his side.
Kingsley sighed "it's poor timing that Mad-eye decided to retire." He said as he walked away.
At the burrow Harry and Ginny sat at the Kitchen table as they watched the guests get ready to go.
It was a mad dash as Molly called up the stairs for the boys.
They came down wearing muggle clothing Fred and George wore brown and tan striped suits but looking on the inside was lined with orange.
" where did you get the suits from?" Molly asked
"For our shop mum." George said
"We wanna look our best going to our final year." Fred said
Molly rolled her eyes.
"Yes yes that's fair. You did win the bet I didn't expect you to get the entire money over the Summer though." She said
Fred smiled
"It just proves that with the war going on we are all in the need for a laugh." He said
"One we are willing to provide." George finished
Fred clicked his fingers at his brother.
"Did you speak with the real estate?" He asked
George shook his head "no but I think we're gonna get an owl soon." He said
"Real estate?" Molly asked
"We want a physical location for after we graduate we don't want to just be a mail order service. Plus we figure if we get a spot in Diagon alley we can get a lot of foot traffic there too."
Molly sighed "but Diagon alley is so expensive. You should try near here. Or better yet Hogsmead." Molly suggested
Fred and George grimaced
"We thought of that however, the foot traffic there isn't nearly as much as Diagon alley." Fred said "and while Hogwarts students make up most of our customers now, we don't want to be dependent on them especially during the summer."
"Plus we got a spot really close to Gringotts on the cheep really cheap." George said
"Previous owner said the upstairs is haunted." Fred said
"We will check it out and see if he could be a good slogan for us." George said
Molly sighed
"Oh very well… you better do good this year though. And don't prank anyone to bad that they can't go to class!" Molly said
"Mum it's us… we know some restraint." Fred said
"Apart from the Slytheryn's though then it's fair game." George finished as they scampered up the stairs with Molly yelling at them.
"I'm honestly surprised that She let it go so easily." Ginny said
Harry smiled "it probably doesn't hurt that there bringing in more money than ever, even more that there dad." Harry said
Molly yelled up the stairs
"Ronald it's time to go!"
Suddenly thundering could be heard on the stairs as Ron appered in the kitchen
"Where's your trunk?" Molly asked
Ronald slapped his pocket which had a slight buldge in it
The twins came down too also alone
"I assume your Trunks are shrunken down as well?" Molly asked
The twins nodded "yeah Ron helped us with that, quiet an impressive charm. We can probably make a few pranks with that on its own once we master it." Fred said
"Oh enough thinking about pranks right now you can do that on the train." Molly said as she dragged the three to the fireplace where Harry and Ginny were waiting there stuff also shrunken.
"Last minute things? You won't be getting them until two weeks." She said
The twins tried to summon anything they missed but nothing came
Molly nodded
"Let's go we will meet everyone else there." Molly said as they floo'ed away.
They arrived at the train and found Hermione, Devon, Neville and Luna waiting.
They found a place on the train and waved to Ms Weasley's as they rode off.
"Are you excited for this year at Hogwarts?" Hermione asked
"I'm excited for perhaps the first normal year." Harry said with a smile.
"That's right, Voldemort pulled out his big finish earlier this summer he has to wait to try again now." Neville said
"It's probably why he's laying so low now, he's preparing himself this time. He didn't expect us to be as prepared as we were so he's really making sure everything is right." Harry said
Ginny grabbed her Husband's hand "it will be fine love." She said
Harry leaned over to her "I know love." As there lips connected
"Ugh!" A noise broke them apart.
Ron was cringing and turning his face away
"RONALD!" Hermione snapped
"S-sorry." Ron gagged and coughed clearing his throat
"Got a poor flavor bean. I think they made a new flavor this time." He looked up and realized what was going on "sorry pardon, just ignore me." He said
Hermione rolled her eyes "too late now Ronald." She said
"Sorry." He muttered
The train ride was quiet and relaxing catching up with other people who they didn't see over the summer break.
Harry turned to Hermione
"Get the word out that the DA will be meeting not this week after the feast but the next." Harry said
Hermione nodded
"You really want to start it so soon?" Neville asked
"With Voldemort being more careful we need to do the same. We have no idea when he will strike and where. Harry said
"I've been given word that Remus has finished his cartography project. He is in charge of oversight. And will be our reaction force. For when they are spotted." Harry said
Devon stood up suddenly making Harry fall silent not wanting to give away secrets
"Door." Devon nodded
A few seconds later Draco slid the door open
"Well if it isn't Potty?" Draco asked
"What do you want Draco can't you tell we are already done with your bullshit?" Ron asked as he pulled off the gummy head of some Creature.
Draco looked over at Ron.
"Have you Blood-traitors gotten so low as to speak like those muggles now?" He asked
Ron however didn't let him phase him he laughed "wow! Apparently there's a Muggle whore in your house Malfoy otherwise you'd never know about the language at all."
Draco's face turned red as he stormed off. As Ron kneeled over laughing.
Hermione shut him up by smacking him on top of his head with her book.
"Ow Hermione what was that for?" He asked as she spun away in a huff
"What you said was an insult to the profession of whore." She said in an overly posh accent before she cracked a smile
"…Even if it was funny…"
That made everyone laugh.
Finally they each got ready and changed into there robes.
However not without a bit of teasing from Ginny.
Harry was sitting looking out the window watching the trees go by
When suddenly he was looking at the train floor at a pair of busts.
Harry blushed
'Ginny?!' Harry asked
'Hi loviee.' Ginny teased
'Ginny why are you doing this? Hermione is here.'
'Oh so a room full of strangers in a dark movie is ok but with our firends who know our proclivities isn't?' Ginny asked
'Yes…wait…Ginny!' Harry yelled again
Ginny giggled 'oh your too easy… by the way consider this payback for not finishing me off after our date.'
Harry groaned as his sight returned to normal.
Harry looked up to see Hermione looking at him from her book.
"Are you ok?" She asked
Harry nodded and motioned to his face.
"Ginny." He said
Hermione nodded and returned to her reading.
For only a few seconds before she asked
"What did she do?"
Harry sputtered and spun on her his mouth flapping like a fish Hermione could barely hold it together with the ridiculous look Harry made but she did just barely.
"Hermione!" Harry yelled
"What you can't fault a girl for asking?" She said
"You have Ron for that!" Harry argues
At his name Hermione looked up at the ceiling dreamily a smile on her face.
Harry slapped his forehead.
"If you must know." He said
Suddenly her attention was back on him making his sigh louder.
"She used sight sharing… she was looking at her feet… naked." Harry said
"And that's what got you sputtering? I wonder how your able to guide yourself in at night?" Hermione teased
"Hermione!" Harry blushed making her giggle.
"No that was something different." Harry said
Soon after the others came back and sat down
Ginny was the last to arrive and walked over to Harry and sit right on his lap
Harry blushed as Hermione tried not to crack.
Ron just sighed
Neville and Luna just tried to outright ignore them one working better than the other.
Devon was…actually where was Devon?
He didn't get a chance to actually figure it out as the train pulled into Hogsmead station.
Harry and the others got into the castle and found him seating at the table. He didn't see them as he was looking at the staff table.
Namely one… wearing a pink carnage and had a plastered on smile.
'Harry isn't that?' Ginny asked
' I believe so love.' He said
'What is she doing here wasn't she arrested?' Ginny asked
'Sirius mentioned that she was pardoned. Apparently the Dark mark wasn't actually real but a stick on so she would take the fall.' Harry said
' I wish it was real.' Ginny hissed
'I do too love…'
Finally the sorting started and everyone was placed in there houses allowing Dumbledore to stand up and give his announcements.
" welcome to a new year at Hogwarts. There has been a change of staffing this year. First, we're pleased to welcome back Professor Grubbly-Plank, who will be taking Care of Magical Creatures while Professor Hagrid is temporary leave. We also wish to welcome our new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher: Professor Dolores Umbridge. And I'm sure you'll all join me in wishing the Professor good luck." He said
"Next order we have word from our caretaker mr filch-."
There was a soft but cheery cough from behind the headmaster as he turned and saw Umbridge standing up
"Thank you, Headmaster, for those kind words of welcome. And how lovely to see all your bright happy faces smiling up at me. I'm sure we're all going to be very good friends."
Fred and George leaned forward and muttered sarcastically "That's likely."
Umbridge didn't hear them as she kept going.
"The Ministry of Magic has always considered the education of young witches and wizard's of vital importance. Although each Headmaster has brought something new to this historic school... progress for the sake of progress must be discouraged. Let us preserve what must be preserved, perfect what can be perfected and prune practices that ought to be prohibited." She said as she took a glare at the Gryffindor table and right at Devon Oakland himself.
Finally she smiled and addressed the whole hall
"That is all." She said as she walked back to her seat. Dumbledore watched her go and he heard someone clapping as everyone turned to see Mr filch at the end.
He stopped once he saw no one else was following his lead even Dumbledore openly glared at him as he finished his speech and sat down himself
This made everyone talk while Dumbledore gave out
"I don't like her." Devon said
"Yeah, I agreed poor opening." Ron said
"Do you know what this means?" Hermione asked
"Possiblely more evidence Amelia is going back on her word?" Harry asked
"That but the ministry is interfering with Hogwarts." She said
"We're going to need an emergency meeting this is unprecedented here I'm going to talk to the headmaster. Tonight. Tomorrow is the new meeting pass it along." Harry whispered to Hermione."
Hermione nodded and the houses went up to there dorms for the night.
Harry broke off from the group and went to see Headmaster Dumbledore.
Harry stood in front of the Griffin before he realized he didn't know the password
Finally realizing it was getting late and didn't wanna be caught out of curfew he decided to just ask
"Um excuse me I need to speak to the headmaster." Harry said
He didn't expect anything of it so he was quiet shocked when the Griffin turned and revealed the stairs going up which Harry took
"Enter." The headmaster said
Harry walked in and shut the door
"Headmaster. Can you believe what is going on?" Harry asked
"As much as I hate to admit it I believe we are thinking the same thing."
Harry sighed "I just can't believe Amelia would betray us like this."
"We have no idea what is going through the ministers head, we need to be careful now Harry." Albus said
"Do you think she is cursed?"
"The possibility can't be overlooked. Nor Sirius unfortunately due to their closeness." Albus said
"So we can consider the order to be compromised." Harry said
Albus nodded "yes we are fortunate that the DA is primarily composed of Students I'd recommend vetting them the next meeting you have." He said
Harry nodded "we are having one tomorrow. Speaking of. I'm sorry Headmaster but I'm afraid I'm not going to speaking of the DA again."
Headmaster nodded "a wise decision Harry. Give me a day to sort and store the information then tomorrow you can obliviate me." He said
Harry nodded "I apologize in advance Headmaster."
"Once I regain my memories I will understand. Just know I will be hostile to you during this period." Albus said
Harry nodded
"Could we consider that Umbridge is working alone?" Harry asked
"It's possible but I'm not sure. She went through the board which vetted the applicants." Albus said
Harry sighed
"We need to keep watch on Voldemort too I know she's not a death eater due to the fake mark but it's just too coincidental." Harry said
Albus nodded
"Indeed im going to look into her myself. You should get back to the dorm Mr potter it's almost curfew." He said
Harry stood up
"Thank you for your time Headmaster."
"You as well Mr. Potter." Albus said
