CHAPTER 2: MY LIFE AS A TEENAGE BOMB

My life mainly consisted of four things at this time. Training, hobbies, school, and hanging out with Deku. I had picked up drawing again, along with reading, and listening to (and playing) music. All in all, life was going well.

At this moment, I was drawing out schematics for my Hero costume. I had based it off of canon Bakugou's, but tweaked it to make it my own. There was a black vest over a sleeveless shirt that was black with dark orange stripes across the chest in an X-shape, with grey armour around my shoulders and neck. I had a gray belt over black cargo pants, which had shuriken patterns sewn over the thigh pockets. There was a mask on my face like a darker green version of Kyle Rayner's Green Lantern mask, the one from New Guardians, with the explosion fins like the original in the back.

And on my wrists, inspired by Yang's Ember Celica from RWBY, were dark green bracelets, the same shade as my mask. I had designed them to expand into gauntlets that covered my forearms, which could shoot capsules filled with my explosive sweat that would make as big a boom as canon Bakuou's grenades in Season 3. When expanded, they would have a grenade pattern on them.

On my back were two swords. I took their designs from a show and a game I had experienced in my previous life and planned to have them commissioned. On the right was Sunlit Heart, a replica of Masa's sword from Meta Runner Episode 9. Of course I was going to try to work a Meta Runner reference into my Hero Costume, that web series is awesome!

On the left side was Caliburn, Sonic's talking sword from Sonic and the Black Knight. Instead of a face on Caliburn, there was a golden X-shape.

I heard a knock at the door. "What are you up to?" I turned to see Deku.

"Designing my Hero costume. I want to keep it a secret until I start Hero training though."

Deku nodded. I was keeping Sword Skill under wraps as a tactical advantage (his idea, not mine. A good one nonetheless), so one more secret was no big deal. "Gotcha. Either way, let's spar. I have a couple moves I want to show you."

We stood across from each other in the backyard in our respective stances. Deku took initiative and charged at me. I started predictably enough with a right hook. Deku grabbed my arm, used it to steady himself as he jumped on my stomach and fell backwards taking me with him all in a single second.

He rolled onto his back and used his legs to toss me over him and to the ground in one motion.

"OOF!" I tumbled a couple feet before just laying there stunned for a couple seconds.

Did… did he just monkey flip me?

I picked myself up. "Nice job. That really caught me off guard."

"Are you okay? I didn't hurt you badly did I?"

"No, just scuffed here and there. That was a really good move though. If you move fast enough, you'll be able to hit an opponent while they're down."

Deku grinned. "Want to move to weapons?"

I gawked. "I thought you were more of a fisticuffs type. Didn't think you would take weapons that seriously."

Deku nodded. "Well, yeah, but I worked a weapon into my fighting style anyways in case I ever need them."

I thought for a moment. It made sense. "Okay then. What did you decide to use?'

Deku walked over to the back door and reached inside, pulling out a pair of wooden twin axes. They were painted green and had lightning symbols carved into the hilts. The blades themselves looked mismatched compared to the rest of the weapon, looking like a crescent was attached to the end of the axe head with the blades edges sticking out like hooks.

I looked them over. "Nice. A heavy hitting weapon, much like your fighting style." I pulled my wooden swords out from under the step. They were plain wooden ones, with grey painted blades and handles wrapped in black sports tape, one of which I held in a reverse grip and one upright, Ahsoka Tano style. "Let's see how you use them."

Deku jumped back and into a ready position. I did the same. We squared each other up for a moment before dashing at each other.

A loud WHACK! echoed through the backyard for a moment as our wooden weapons clashed. A series of smaller whacks emerged as we fended off each other's weapons, striking and blocking.

Deku pushed away and jumped, both axes raised above his head.

I quickly spun my other sword into a reverse grip and thrust the pommels into his gut. Deku's eyes bugged out as he gasped and staggered from the hit.

"Not a bad idea, but you can't leave yourself open like that." I flipped the left sword around so the blade was pointing up again.

Deku coughed. "Noted," he wheezed before straightening back into his ready position.

I dashed at him slashing rapidly, not wanting to give him breathing room. Deku blocked each of my attacks before swinging them at my side. I jumped out of the way, leaving my left sword there to block and set up just as I realized something.

It was a feint. And I fell for it.

Deku crossed the axes and his arms in front of him as he aimed. He swung them both in a cross chop.

"CAROLINA SLASH!"

CRACK! My left sword broke halfway down the blade in the grip of the two axes, and my right one was batted away by the swinging motion.

I jumped back before looking at what remained of my wooden sword and glancing at the broken-off blade a couple feet away. Yeah, there was no fixing that. Deku's eyes widened a little. "Holy moly, I did that?"

I gave him a deadpan look. "Well, it wasn't the neighbour's cat. You put a lot of oomph into that swing. You're getting stronger."

Deku beamed at the praise before returning his attention to the sword. "You're gonna need to get a new one."

I nodded. "In the meantime, I'll just use one. Just try not to use it again until I get a new one."

Deku shrugged. "Okay then."

We fell into our respective stances. Today was gonna be a full rich day.

A couple days later, I came to a realization. My memories were slowly rotting away with time and nothing to refresh them. I needed to write this stuff regarding the future down.

I went up to my room, which overlooked the street, had a bed on the far side of the room and a desk tucked away in the corner. The walls were painted a soft shade of blue, the window frames a stark white. I had a few swords that I saw in my old life commissioned and stored them on a rack on my wall next to my desk. Elucidator, Shadow's sword from Black Knight, Crocea Mors from RWBY, Heathcliff's sword, Infinite's sword, Milô and Akouo, and a few others.

There was a poster of All Might on the back of my door, which I put there to save wall space. There was a belt with two holsters of shuriken hanging on the wall next to it.

I sat down at my desk and grabbed a blank notebook, upon the cover of which I drew a clock symbol to differentiate it.

I began writing out what I remembered, starting with the villains.

Tomura Shigaraki (Real Name: Tenko Shimura)

He's something of a man-child when we first see him, but with each passing appearance he seems to grow more intelligent and slightly more mature. Taken in by All For One at a young age after running from an abusive household.

Quirk: Decay (if he touches something with all five of his fingers, it crumbles to dust)

Kurogiri (Oboro Shirakumo)

Formerly a hero course student who was friends with Aizawa, but died while trying to save some kids during his internship. All For One took his corpse and repurposed it to make the overly polite smog man. Addresses people by their full names or titles, but exists to care for Shigaraki. Doesn't anger easily, even when captured.

Quirk: Warp Gate (he can create portals to anywhere he wants as long as he has a precise location.

Dabi (Touya Todoroki(?))

Very apathetic. Does whatever he wants on a whim, though he still follows Shigaraki's orders. Addresses Shoto Todoroki and Endeavor by their full names and has some level of control over the Nomus.

Quirk: He can generate blue flames (likely hotter than Endeavor's orange) from his body and shoot them. He burns himself if he uses them too much

Himiko Toga

Crazy child who's in it for the rush of crimes. Certifiably insane and admires Stain. Uses a knife, and knows how to use it.

Quirk: She can disguise herself as someone if she gets their blood.

Twice (Jin Ubaigawara)

Joined the League of Villains to find a place to fit in. He stays with them because everywhere else rejected him. He has a voice in his head due to his clones killing each other in front of him.

Quirk: Double (can make a double of anything or anyone, Quirk and all. He has to have enough info on the person or item to make an effective copy. They're also not very durable.)

Spinner

Devotee of Stain, so much so that he dresses like him. He's a skilled swordsman and uses a massive weapon made of a bunch of blades bound together. He's what you would call Stain's #1 fan.

Quirk: Wall Climbing

Mr. Compress

A very showy personality, like an entertainer or magician. Not much of a direct combatant.

Quirk: He can compress items into little marbles he carries with no harm to whatever he compresses and release them at will for as long as he wants with seemingly no cost to himself

Magne

Never really cared to know much about this guy. He wields a clock(?) gets one-shotted by Overhaul.

Quirk: He can magnetize people to each other. Men become north poles, women become south poles. He can't use it on himself.

Hero Killer Stain (Chizome Akaguro)

He wants to kill what he calls 'fake Heroes', the ones who are in it for money and fame. He deems those who only care about helping others, like All Might, worthy, so he lets them live. Turns down Shigaraki and Kurogiri when asked to join the LoV, saying that they're the type of people he hates most. Uses a variety of blades.

Quirk: Bloodcurdle. He can paralyze a person temporarily if he ingests their blood. How long depends on blood type (O is the shortest)

All For One

Possesses thousands of Quirks and is arrogant in his power. Cares for Shigaraki in a twisted fatherly way. Has power and likes to flaunt it. Made the Nomus (and Kurogiri) and gave them their Quirks. Wears a Darth Vader looking mask.

Quirk: All For One

High-End

A highly advanced Nomu compared to the one at the USJ. He's strong, regenerative, can fly, and isn't brain-dead. He can think enough to speak and recognize things like locations and foes. Dabi sends it after Endeavor, who kills it. Only by destroying its head can it be killed for good. It can fly, regenerate, and possess super strength. And there are supposedly more of them.

I wrote down as many events as I could remember before I paused and put down my pencil. There were more, like Muscular, but these were the ones I remembered to be still alive and active at the time of Season 4 ending, save High-End and Magne.

I furrowed my brow. I had to keep this villain data secret, otherwise it could lead to some nasty reprocussions if I'm discovered to have it. I stuck the notebook in the back of my closet, hidden among the junk. It was the best I could do for now.

(2 years later)

I was 13 now, a year from the start of the MHA timeline, and I was beginning to hate my classmates.

It takes a lot to get me to snap at someone. I have a lot of patience, that's just how I am. So when I snap, you dun goofed, buddy.

My Quirks had grown from when I first unlocked them, though I kept Sword Skill under wraps from everyone save those who already knew and official forms. So, I could set off a beach ball sized explosion with one hand and a bit of effort and coat my whole arms and shoulders in my energy field.

I did my best to keep Sword Skill under wraps from those around me and Explosion under control, though there were times I couldn't and it reacted when I was mad.

Wait, what was I talking about?

"Seriously Bakugou, why do you hang out with a loser like Midoriya? He doesn't have a Quirk. You should hang with the cool kids for a change."

Ah, right, why I'm starting to hate my classmates.

Just my luck the winged kid who used to pick on Deku ended up in the same middle school I did. And to make matters worse, his sentiments were shared by the others in our class to varying degrees. And to make things even worse, Deku was right there.

I had no choice but to learn the guy's name, which was Danzo Hozuki. Figures I would hate Danzo's no matter the life. First in Naruto, now here.

You would think that the fuckwit would have learned from when I slugged him, but that apparently made him dumber.

"For the last time Hozuki, I am not ditching my best friend just to hang out with poozers like you and your gang." It was the end of the school day, and most of the class had cleared out save for myself, Deku, Hozuki, and his group.

Hozuki grabbed my collar and got in my face. "The hell did you just call us?"

I smiled, which served to tick him off more. "Poozer." I can't believe Kilowog's signature insult is working on this idiot.

He growled and reeled back for a punch. "Watch it. I'm inviting you to ditch that Quirkless loser and have fun instead of doing this boring crap." He gestured at my schoolwork with that comment.

Deku was starting to get mad at him, I could tell from his tensing and looking down, shaking slightly. I was past mad.

I was furious.

I growled before roughly gripping the guy's wrist. "You're really starting to get on my nerves Hozuki. I'll give you one chance to walk away before I make you."

Hozuki scoffed before releasing my shirt collar with a shove. "As if. You're just like that Quirkless loser you always hang out with. You won't lay a finger on me." He unfolded his wings a bit for show.

I stood up and spoke coldly. "He's right here and his name is Midoriya." That was all the warning he got before I moved. I jumped, using my explosions to spin and kick him. In my haste I accidentally lost control of how much power into my explosions and blasted a desk as I spun faster than I expected and kicked Hozuki twice before I touched the ground again, staggering as I tried to keep my balance.

The winged boy fell to the floor from the impact, his posse wisely backing off.

"You just attacked him!" Deku had his hand in front of his mouth as he stood shocked.

"Yes, but I had ample reason. And I gave him sufficient warning. Now then…" I stood there, palms upturned, staring him down with canon Bakugou's psychotic gaze, which took an hour in the mirror to perfect. "If any of you try to recruit me into your group or, God forbid, bully Deku again, they'll never find your bodies." I let off a couple small explosions for emphasis.

Hozuki looked at me with genuine fear. "Okay okay, I get it. C'mon guys."

The rest of his group mirrored Hozuki's expression as they fled, walking so as to not lose their too-cool image to whoever noticed them.

I looked to Deku. "Sorry you had to hear that."

Deku looked at me with both caution and admiration. "It's fine. Not many people would stick with a loser when offered to join the cool kids."

I cuffed him upside the head. "What was that for?"

"Calling yourself a loser. You're not a loser, you're my best friend, and the only person in this class worth my time." I folded my arms.

Deku grinned. "Thanks."

I grinned back. "You're welcome. Now c'mon, let's get going."

3 DAYS LATER…

I had discovered a sizeable clearing down in the woods two years prior, and Deku and I had done all our training and practiced our special moves down there ever since.

"Red Light!" I held up my fist to a smiling Deku.

"Green Light!" He bumped it with his own. With that we took off. Deku leapt off my back and I blasted after him.

"Bamma! Slamma! ShakalakaaaaSMASH!" Moving in tandem we threw a roundhouse kick, an axe kick, an uppercut, and then lunged forward with a combined punch, denting a tree.

My green haired friend flinched and pulled away, his hand red and sore from punching a tree. "GAH! I've got to buy some gloves."

I glanced down at my hand. It was sore too from this and all the other things we ran through. "We both should."

Deku shrugged before he flopped down, myself following suit as exhaustion took its toll.

He looked at me with a questioning look. "You said you came up with that last move from an old video game?"

I nodded. "Yeah. A Switch game called No Straight Roads. I've never played it, but from what I've seen, it's really good."

Deku tilted his head. "Does your mom or dad have an old Switch in the basement they inherited from their great-grandparents? Because that's the only reason I can think of that you would have heard of an obscure title like that."

I froze mid-gesture. Why do I keep forgetting that it's 2184 now? "Well, I mean, I have hobbies outside of this. One of them is researching games from the era before Quirks."

A weak excuse, but luckily he seemed to buy it as he scratched his head nervously. "Yeah, that sounds plausible. Before Quirks came about, life would probably be pretty different. Sorry for jumping to conclusions."

I waved him off. "Don't worry about it. Besides, there's still a year and a half before the UA entrance exams, we can't spend all our time training."

Deku nodded and glanced at his watch before spontaneously levitating, his eyes wide. "Oh crap! I've gotta get home, I'm late!"

I nodded. "I'll clean up. You get going."

The green-haired boy turned to leave and waved. "Sorry for leaving you like this, Kacchan. I should have kept a closer eye. See ya!"

I waved back before bending down to pick up the weights we were using. I managed to get a few from the garden shed that Mom had forgotten was even there.

Right, Mom. She was probably going to yell at me once I got back for keeping Deku late. I don't think my eardrums have fully recovered from the time I tried pranking her.

This world or another, I'm still a prankster. I had tried mixed itching powder in with her shampoo to see what the results would be, and once I broke down and laughed at her furious scratching that Saturday, she yelled at me until she went hoarse and darn near strangled me before grounding me for a week.

I knew enough to know just how mad she could get, but then, I also could just not tell her. On top of the many other things I was keeping from her with my knowledge of the series.

Keeping a secret from her and Dad is pretty tough to maintain, but at the same time, it's worth it to keep the timeline on track. I never realized it, but the events that lead to Deku getting One For All are pretty delicate.

First, he has to go under that one bridge on the way home that a Villain was hiding under, then All Might would save him in pursuit of the Villain. Then All Might has to use up his time limit in time to be seen by Deku, and then I have to get caught by the Villain in the Tatooin shopping district, which will get everyone's attention including my would-be and actual saviours. All in all, anything could go awry and prevent the events from taking place.

As I picked up the duffel bag I kept all the training stuff in, straining as I carried it home, I formulated a plan.

I knew that it would happen on the day the teacher went over careers, so I would have a bit under a year before the events at the start to plan, using my notebook as a guide.

As I walked across the street and into the home stretch, I also began to realize. The event at the river that Bakugo began to hate Deku for… that never happened. And that kid Deku stopped Bakugo from bullying, that never happened either. My existing here has created a butterfly effect, like 19 and Gero showing up instead of 17 and 18 when Trunks went back in time in DBZ.

I only ever saw the Abridged series by TeamFourStar, but that alone was awesome… off topic.

So, I should expect to see other small changes along the line as well. So far, the events that were changed haven't affected the larger timeline, but this could have ramifications much later on. I only saw up to Season 4 and watched a video on Bakugo's hero name and Kurogiri's true identity, but I don't know anything solid beyond that. I have a rough mental timeline, but that's all I've got for beyond Season 4.

So, after a certain point, I'll be just like everyone else, just with an extra Quirk.

I got home, stepped inside and removed my shoes as I set the duffle bag by the door with a thud.

"DON'T DROP THE BAG!" Apparently, it was loud enough to earn Mom's attention.

"Hey Mom I'm home. Yes, training went well and Deku's on his way home, thanks for asking."

Mom peeked out from the kitchen with a semi-angry look. "Smartass. We're having curried chicken for dinner, so you have about an hour left to study."

I nodded. "Gotcha. I'll be in my room."

As I made for the stairs and began to climb a thought occurred to me. If I was going to keep the timeline within predictability, I would have to be careful which events I changed and didn't.

Yessiree, there was a lot of planning to do.

And that's chapter 2! I'm skipping as much of Bakugo's childhood as necessary, so I can focus just the important bits. He will be mainly sticking to swords and dual wield with a mix of Ahsoka Tano from the Clone Wars (2005) and Kirito from SAO, though I do plan to include shuriken and a jihyo in his arsenal down the line.

On a different note, I do plan to ship SI-Bakugo with a girl. I can't decide which though, so this poll will be open for the next three chapters. The options are:

Yaoyorozu

Jiro

Hagakure

Kendo

Please PM and review, I'd like to hear your thoughts on the story. See ya!
